No the nile was what made them a plentiful nation and it acted as a defense against invaders from asia minor

The role I think the Nile River played in Egypt's prosperity was flooding a lot of land so the soil could be moist and fertile to grow crops. The ancient Egyptians couldn't be a majestic civilization without the Nile River because you can't have a civilization without being near water.
