Ok I will help you out since I got the nitro powder just yesterday. Now assume that you just got the nitro powder. Go out of the Castle Cornelia. Get to your ship (assume that it is on the port south of cornelia). Now, go to Mount Duergar. If you never get through it, check your map. Head to the nearby port left of Cornelia. Then walk continuing left. You should find a cave where you could get through. Enter it. Then when your inside, go all the way south following the path. Talk to the dwarf in red (Nerrick). Then just watch the cutscene as the powder blows up. I hope this helps.
