When you find yourself one on one with another player there are basically two strategies you can employ. Either strafe like crazy and hope you get lucky with a couple of your shots or take the calmer approach and and crouch to decrease your spread and aim for a headshot which can leave you with almost full health to carry on your streak and save CP for better deployables.

Although the Hyper Reality Visor (HVR) is useful, it is not fullproof, you will still encounter campers that have a HVR cloak that preventing you from detecting them so you still need to proceed with caution. The duration and recharge rate of the HRV are influenced by the Helmet your are wearing. HRV can only be switched on at full energy but it can be switched off manually or it will turn itself off when it's energy is depleted.

It is important that you make sure you frequently check your HVR scanner to keep an eye on where the enemies are. If there are no enemies nearby, move to cover and look again, hunt your enemies from behind, or wait for them to come round the corner, running out around a corner at the enemy will only give them more time to shoot at you before you can shoot at them.

Consider using the Revival Injector, Healing Injector, and Barricade Mk.1 as your tactical gears as they are some of the best options available.

If you spawn in a Hardsuit, do not get rid of it or leave it where it stands when you are done with it but make use of it by using it as a barricade in a small passage. If you do this the SIVs won't destroy it for a while and it will cause problems them problems.

The Hardsuit has a minigun that is particularly effective in up-close encounters while the railgun is more accurate long-distance.

Be weary of flamethrowers as they will get burn out of your suit and somebody else can take it once it cools down. Also keep an eye out for stingers as a Hardsuit can only take two hits from those (unless it's in Combat mode). The Hardsuits can 'Dash' or 'charge' forward which is often more efficient that attempting to aim it's big heavy guns when the enemy is strafing in front of you.
