Viridian City

Description Of Viridian City:

Before too long, you'll be in Viridian City. At first glance, the city looks full of promise with a lot to do. But you'll soon find out that there isn't much to do at all. The appeared first Pokemon Gym, that every player seems drawn to, is locked shut, and the old man outside says the Gym Leader is gone right now. Unfortunately, the Viridian City Gym will actually be the last your player will be allowed to challenge.

After a little investigating through the buildings, you'll most likely find yourself healing up your Starter Pokemon at the Pokemon Center before discovering the PokeMart. Upon entering the Poke Mart, you will be tasked with returning a Parcel that recently arrived for Professor Oak.

After receiving the parcel, a player can begin his return back to Pallet Town. Or... They can try to find another route to travel on. If you head north, an old man passed out in the middle of path will prevent you from passing until he gets some coffee.

Luckily, there is a path to the west that looks quite promising.
