Introduction

Welcome to our wiki for Pokemon Emerald!

Pokemon Emerald is the third installment of the adventures through the Hoenn Region, the first two being Pokemon Ruby and Pokemon Sapphire. Pokemon Emerald is very different from both Pokemon Ruby and Pokemon Sapphire. Both Team Magma and Team Aqua play key roles in Pokemon Emerald. The Gym Leaders and the Elite Four have also been updated. New areas to the Hoenn Region have be added, including the Battle Frontier. And finally, the storyline is centered around the Legendary Pokemon Rayquaza.

Release Dates:

Japan - September 16, 2004
United States - May 1, 2005
Europe - October 21, 2005

Much like Pokemon Ruby and Pokemon Sapphire, Pokemon Emerald is about your travels of the Hoenn Region as a new trainer. Your main goals are to complete the Pokedex and train your Pokemon as you challenge the Hoenn Pokemon Gyms. Along the way, you will be challenge by your Rivals and the antagonist organizations of the region.

You have two Rivals in Pokemon Emerald: May/Brendan (Depending on your trainers gender) and Wally. May/Brendan are trainers from your hometown. They are set on becoming the best trainer. Wally is a young, ill boy. He wants to become a Pokemon Trainer.

There are two antagonist groups in Pokemon Emerald: Team Magma and Team Aqua. In Pokemon Ruby and Pokemon Sapphire, only one of these groups were the antagonist while the other was in a more supporting role. Team Magma's mission is to awaken the Legendary Pokemon Groudon in order to increase the amound of land in the world. Team Aqua's mission is to awaken the Legendary Pokemon Kyogre in order to increase the amount of water in the world. Both of these groups will stop at nothing to accomplish their goals. It is up to you to stop these groups from causing chaos in the Hoenn Region; it is up to you, with some help from the Legendary Pokemon Rayquaza, to stop Groudon and Kyogre from going to war against each other.

Even after the objective of the game is completed, the story is continued onto a place called the battle frontier, which is way more difficult to complete than the first part. Extensive strategising is required in this part of the game.
