In the Sinnoh region, there are two Pokemon that symbolize the region. They appear in the Sinnoh region's myths and old folklore. One is called Dialga, and is said to have the power to control time. The other is called Palkia, who is said to have the ability to distort space. The sinister organization called Team Galaxy is trying to rule the region by utilizing these two Pokemon's power. During your adventure to complete your Pokedex and become the Champion, these two Pokemon, and Team Galaxy, will intertwine into the story and lead you on a fantastic journey across the Sinnoh region.
Graphics are great for a DS Game. It uses a 3D Graphics Engine, so when you move, you actually see some things enlarge or shrink as you go closer or farther respectively. The animations of the Pokemon and they're moves are decent also. Some moves like Roar of Time always seem to impress me. I also love it when in rains, or snows. Yes, it has weather also. And the transition between Dawn, Morning, Noon, Afternoon, Dusk and night are really smooth. As it becomes night, more lights turn on and off from windows in buildings.
The music of Pokemon Diamond is something that never gets old for me. It's not 8 bit anymore. It's like polytones. You can hear the Brass, the strings, the synths and sometimes, the percussions. The sound when a Pokemon cries or when it makes a move are decent enough, but some Pokemon still retain they're old 16-bit sound cries, which are still bad in my opinion. The music just never seems to get old though. Having new versions of the Gym Songs, or the Main Songs.
I think you need to really like Pokemon to enjoy this game. If you've never played a Pokemon game before then it might be confusing to you.
The hundreds of new Pokemon are always exciting. So does the new moves. The only sad thing is that most of the new Pokemon are all evolve forms of the old Pokemon. The Pokemon, Roselia, even got a baby form and a final form in one game!
The story itself is long though. I finished the game in 17 hours +. There are just so many side missions and a lot of legendary Pokemon to keep you busy.
This game just never gets old. Once you finish it, you'll want to start over again because the main story is just really fun. I played this game and finished it 4 times in my life. I'm starting to play it again today. If you get bored of the story line, then why not take some online battles? The urge to win will keep you trading and breeding your Pokemon to make them the best fighters. It's hard to win online if you aren't that experienced with the terms though. There are also mini-games like slots in the game. The online battling really beats everything.
Overall, Pokemon Diamond is a really great game and that I recommend that you get it. It's awesome graphics will keep you awed. The 3d engine really is worth it. The music in-game is really great. The tunes are really relaxing or sometimes, exciting. The gameplay will keep you playing till you finish it 100%. So many features will keep you going at it. It has great lastability. This game will keep you playing it over and over again, and the Wi-Fi online battles and trades will really keep you busy.
