Attacks

After you have been attacked by a monster you will black out and wake up at the exact spot you were attacked and the monster will be prowling about a short distance away. It will take depending on what monster attacked you two to four such attacks before you are finally killed.

Saving

You cannot manually save the game, you can only make checkpoints. The last checkpoint you make will be where you restart when you are killed by a monster. You will be able to make a maximum of 18 checkpoints which will be stored in the 'Load Game' option at the 'Main' menu.

Checkpoints

When you have been attacked and killed by a monster for the final time you will restart from the last automatic checkpoint made in the game, this will be indicated by a brain scan logo at the bottom right corner of the screeen.

Health

When you are attacked by a monster there is no kind of meter to indicate the state of your health, instead the screen will start to become blurry and your movement will be reduced. To replenish your health and repair your screen you must find the unusual looking pod which will be in the area and interact with it. These pods are a part of the WAU.

Doors

Make sure you find somewhere dark to hide as soon as you have opened a door to progress because whenever you open one you will alert a monster to your presence.

Eye Contact

Try to make as little eye contact with a monster as possible as it will have an adverse effect on your screen, if you do need to take a look peek and lean around corners.

Crouch Down

Always crouch down and turn off your flashlight when there is a monster in the area as there is a chance especially in the early levels that they will not notice your movement.

Nearby Monsters

You may be able to hear nearby monsters if you listen carefully for footsteps or groans when you are not in the ocean.

Music

Music getting louder indicates that you are a monsters target and that it is coming for you, the louder the music the closer the monster is to you.

Screen

Be alert if your screen starts to glitch out and tear in places as this is an indication that there is a monster nearby.
