Time Your Shots Right

In order to time your shots right in NBA Playgrounds it is essential that you pay attention to the shooting animations and learn them. It is crucial that you know the exact peak of shooting, so you know the precise moment to release the shoot button in order to score.

You can also earn additional points the closer to perfection you get with your shot timing. This includes layups and dunks, as well as regular shots within or beyond the three point line.

Keep Your Special Meter Full

In NBA Playgrounds it is important that you continually perform moves like steals, blocks, alley-oops, and monster dunks to fill up your special meter so your team gets a randomly selected bonus to their shots.

These bonuses are worthwhile obtaining as they include things like bonus points for every successful offensive or defensive action or a guaranteed shot the next time you shoot. In order to fill up this special meter quicker you should refrain unless necessary to resorting to aggressive tactics like pushing and shoving as doing so will decrease your special meter.

The Crossover

In basketball a crossover dribble is a maneuver in which a player dribbling the ball switches the ball rapidly from one hand to the other, to make a change in direction. When you perform this powerful offensive maneuver in NBA Playgrounds you can't be pushed or have the ball stolen by your opponent. The downside to using the crossover is the large chunk of stamina it costs to perform. Only take advantage of the crossover when you will benefit from it or if you have stamina to spare and just want to confuse your opponent.

Stealing

Stealing the ball from your opponent will not drain your stamina like pushing and shoving, so you should try this tactic first to try and claim the ball in order to conserve your energy for moves like dunks. Remember though that unless you have players with high steal stats this maneuver is not as effective as pushing and shoving to return the ball back to your possession.

Pushing and Shoving

One way in which to get the ball out of your opponents possession is to push and shove them. Shoving your opponent to the ground will automatically knock the ball loose from their hands. The downside to this though is pushes consume lots of stamina, and drain your Lottery meter which means you will need to be selective when you decide to attempt this tactic to get the ball back.
