% II. Introduction #
#%#%#%#%#%#%#%#%#%#%

We usually don't cover many driving/racing games but we did make a few guides
for the Burnout series so we thought we would try it for this game even
though we are far from experts. This guide is mainly for those just starting
out on this game to give you general tips and hopefully helpful information
on the various tracks. You may not want to follow the order of Episodes that
this guide is set up for because this seems to be a slightly more challenging
order of doing them in due to what cars you have avaliable to you at that
time but without a challenge what fun would it be. It just happened to be set
up this way because it was our second playthrough and we chose episodes
opposite of what we chose the first time through.

Note: This is the Original Order of Episodes we played through on our first
playthrough which seemed a bit easier to us then the order on this guide:

Rigged to blow
Big Rig Boom
Splashdown
Sunset Fire
Hit The Skids
Midway Pass
Cleaning Up
Threshold Break
Scorched Rubber
One Last Push
Boneyard Rush
Out With A Bang

Just to warn you ahead of time since many of the tracks are repeats we tend
to repeat the information for the same track since no power plays change with
the same track. We may change or add some to it in the future. If you have
additional information that you think would be helpful you are welcome to
send it to us and if you see any errors as well. Beyond that enjoy the guide
and see you in an online race perhaps.

III. Tutorial
vvvvvvvvvvvvv

As you start the game it will start you with the basics. The first
thing you need to do is learn how to drive around the track by
making one lap. Next you will need to start to learn how to drift
to gain power for power plays. After that you will learn how to
use power plays. Next you will need to fill the entire bar for
power and you can do that by drifiting as you drive around this
track. Once you have done that use your level 2 power play on the
Rival Cars. Finally you will need to wreck multiple rivals and to
do this we recommend using the second level 2 power play on the
since you should be learning how to building up to level 2 fast for
the rest of the game anyways but it really doesn't make much
difference if you use level 1 or level 2 on the multiple rivals just
make sure there is more then one rival near a power play.

% Event 1: Airport Terminal Race (vehicle used: Ryback Brawler) %
%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%

Those of you that have the demo should be familar with this track
and should not need much help with it. The Objective here is to
come in 1st Obviously and use power plays to keep you there during
the race. There are six level 2 Power Plays on this track and one
short cut. We will list them in the order you come to them or can
activate them (We usually use B. E. and G. when playing this track:

A. The first one you will come to is after your first sharp left
turn you come to on this track. After you make the turn you will
be able to blow up the Airport Terminal building if you have
rival(s) near it.

B. The second one is not just a race altering power play but it
is also a route changer. You should see the tall tower in the
distance after you go pass the gas station and you can only
activate it after you go a little pass that gas station. This
one you can activate without any rivals being near it just to
change the route.

C. If you used the tower to change routes you will come to the
shortcut as you reach the hangar at the end of the runway up ahead.
You don't need a full bar to activate it you just need at least
the first portion of the bar to activate it.

D. Before you reach the last left turn leading to the start/finish
line you can use your level 2 power play on the radar dish when
rivals get close enough to it to drop it onto the track.

E. After you make one lap around the track and just before you reach
the start/finish line you can use your Level 2 Power Play to change
the route into the underground parking garage under the airport
Terminal.

F. After dropping the tower route changer and as you go pass the gas
station again you will be able to use another Level 2 Power Play to
bring the crashing plane down on the runway.

G. After you make a second lap around the track and after you have
changed the route to the underground parking garage you can use your
Level 2 Power Play again just before you reach the start/finish line
to change the route onto the tarmac of the Airport.

%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
% Event 2: Downtown Central Race (vehicle used: Ryback Brawler) %
%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%

The Objective here is to come in 1st Obviously and use power plays to
keep you there during the race. There are two Level 2 Power plays along
this track:

A. After going pass the trash truck and as you follow the
winding highway towards a tunnel you should see a helicopter carrying a
dump truck. Use the Level 2 Power Play before reaching the left curve
leading towards that helicopter to cause havoc in that tunnel for your
rivals.

B. We would recommend using this Power Play more so then the one above
though. Once you make one lap around the track and just before you reach
the start/finish line you will be able to drop the tall tower you see in
the distance up ahead on any rivals that are ahead of you. This will also
change the route.

& Event 3: Construction Site Elimination (vehicle used: Ryback Brawler) &
 &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

The main objective to this is to climb your way to the lead of the
pack with power plays and anyone that overtakes you once you are in
first should be dealt a power play for their trouble to keep your in
first. There is not much in the way of race altering power plays on
this track besides the helicopter with the dump truck. We never got to
use them since we were already near the front of the pack by the time
we got there.

 &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
& Event 4: Downtown Central Elimination (vehicle used: Ryback Brawler) &
 &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

The main objective to this is to climb your way to the lead of the
pack with power plays and anyone that overtakes you once you are in
first should be dealt a power play for their trouble to keep your in
first. There is one race/route altering Power play on this track but
it is after you make one round on the track. You will need to fill up
your bar all the way just before you get back to the start/finish line
and try to be in at least fourth by the time you get there. Once your
bar is full you can use your Level 2 (Circle) Power Play to drop the
tall tower you see up ahead onto the track.

   @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
@ Event 5: Airport Terminal Detonator (Hanzo GT Challenge) @
   @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

The Object of this event is to test your driving skills by avoiding
dangerous power plays as you approach them and to test your speed by
giving you a specific time you need to beat to get 1st. My tips for
this event (and all future Detonators are the same):

A. Always keep your finger on the gas otherwise you will not make it for
the specific time either.

B. Avoid drifting when you don't need to because it slows you down.

C. Cut corners as close as you can without crashing obviously.

D. Memorize how to avoid a Power Play so you don't get hit by it the
next time.

E. Try to avoid touching guard rails as much as possible.

F. IF you crash or do a turn badly use restart because you won't make
it pass the specific time if you did either of those.

G. The main thing to watch out for is the plane in this detonator and
drive under either wing of the plane just watch out for the engine that
comes bouncing off that wing.

H. You will need to get under 01:25.00 to get 1st on this Detonator and
to know if you are on the right track for getting this time you should
get to the runway around 00:45.00. You should be going pass the radar
dish at about 1:14.00. When we did this track while making this guide we
got 01:24.14

For this event you will be dealing with the elite racers of Split
Second:

Live Wire
Torpedo
Raptor
Vixen
Rigg
The Hammer
Brawn

You will need to place 3rd or better to reach the next Episode. Just
like with the elimination event for this track you have one level 2
power play that can be used as well as a 3 part level 1 power play
that has race altering potential with the right rivals near it. There
is also a shortcut created with that 3 part Level 1 power play as well
At least this time you have time to use them unlike when you were on
elimination:

A. You can use the first power play as you exit the tunnel at the
start of this race to cause the helicopter to drag the dump truck
along the track to create a little chaos.

B. This next Power play is a three part level 1 power play once you
reach the far end of the construction site you can tilt the tall
building you see on the right if a rival is near it. Once you make a
lap around the track and get back to this same building you can use
your power play again on it to cause it to fall some and put a ramp
on the track. Finally as you make your second lap around and reach
this building again you can use your power play on it again to cause
the rest of it to collapse on your rivals this is if one of your
rivals didn't already bring it down.

C. with bringing down the building and if you still have another lap
to go. When you get back to the building you can drive straight
through the large gaping hole in the building for a shortcut.

For this race you will want to drive fast, drift well, use power plays
strategically, avoid crashing and watch your back as they might sneak
right pass you at the last turn of the race.

You now get to choose which episode you want to be in next either "Big
Rig Boom" or "Splashdown".

%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
% Event 1: Port Bridge Race (vehicle used: Ryback Brawler) %
%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%

You should know the drill by now you will want to come in 1st
and to help you do that there are two Power Plays you should
be aware of and two shortcuts:

A. As you make your way down the bridge at the start of this race
you should see a large ship on some platforms to the right and if
or when you have a full bar you can use your Level 2 Power Play to
move that ship into the path of your rivals.

B. As you continue along the track you will eventually come to a ramp
you can lower for a shortcut however this one is a bit harder to use
then most shortcuts mainly because your rivals like using it also. Which
means if you aren't in front or following a rival that activated it you
may or may not make it onto that shortcut.

C. Finally the most important route/race changer would be just before you
reach the start/finish line you can use a Level 2 Power Play on the bridge
you started this race on to collapse it.

D. After you collapse the bridge make your way down the broken bridge and
you should see on your left a warehouse you can open up for a shortcut here.
You will probably not be able to use it after bringing down the bridge but
the next lap you should be able to use it then.

%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
% Event 2: Ferry Wharf Race (vehicle used: Ryback Brawler) %
%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%

To help you stay in 1st there are two Route changing Level 2 Power Plays
you should be aware of:

A. After going pass the dock/cargo area you will make a sharp right turn
and if you have a full bar you can use your Level 2 Power Play here (You
sank their battleship couldn't help myself) to create a new route onto
the flight deck of the aircraft carrier that is here. If you activate this
Power play the next time you come to it you will end up going through the
middle of the aircarft carrier (watch out for the small rolling tanks).

B. After getting off the aircraft carrier and going through the building
ahead. As you exit out of that building and if you have a full bar you can
your Level 2 Power play before you get to the metal bridge up ahead to
cause a ship accident just after the start/finish line.

*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*
^ Event 3: Airport Terminal Air Strike (vehicle used: Ryback Brawler) ^
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*

The object of this event is simple avoid the missiles as long as you can
while driving along. We recommend that you start by driving slow until the
target reticles show up on the ground then push the gas to start dodging
those missiles. If possible try to make it so that the helicopter is not
shooting missiles while your in a narrow parts of the track or you will be
more likely to have the entire road blocked by reticles which you can guess
won't make it easy for you to get that target score (35,070) you need to get
1st. The most likely place you will be taken out at is the sharp left turn
that you have to do after you go pass the runway.

  &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
& Event 4: Ferry Wharf Elimination (vehicle used: Ryback Brawler) &
  &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

You will need to stay ahead of the pack and to do that you can use the
same two Level 2 Power Plays that we mentioned during the race for this
track:

  *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*
^ Event 5: Port Bridge Air Strike (vehicle used: Ryback Mohawk) ^
  *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*

You will need to do the same thing you did on the Airport Terminal Air
Strike to reach the target score you need to get 1st Place.

This is just like the first Race Event of the previous Episode and
you will want to use the same power plays you did in that race to get 1st
Place:

A. The first one you will come to is after your first sharp left
turn you come to on this track. After you make the turn you will
be able to blow up the Airport Terminal building with a Level 2
power play if you have rival(s) near it.

You will need to stay ahead of the pack and to do that you can use the 2
race/route changers and a few shortcuts:

A. Build up your bar and after the horseshoe turn you come to you should
see a large ship you can blow up with your Level 2 Power Play.

B. After blowing up that big ship drive through it and drive along the
road you land on. You will eventually see after going across a bridge
a warehouse building you can use as a shortcut on the left.

C. Build up your bar and as you approach the start/finish line use your
Level 2 Power play to knock over the large ship up ahead.

D. After making your way around on that ship you can use your Level 2
Power Play on the large ship that is on platforms that you saw from the
Port Bridge track.

E. As you start making your next lap you will eventually get back to the
large ship you blew up earlier and when you get to it use your Level 2
Power Play to completely destroy it.

F. After destroying it you will make turn to the right up ahead after
jumping over a rooftop and you will see a shipping container you can raise
for a shortcut to the left up ahead (if you have a bar full that is of
course).

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
@ Event 2: Port Bridge Detonator (Ryback Coyote Challenge) @
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

The Object of this event is the same as before. You need a specific
time to beat to get 1st. My tips are still the same:

A. Always keep your finger on the gas otherwise you will not make it for
the specific time either.

B. Avoid drifting when you don't need to because it slows you down.

C. Cut corners as close as you can without crashing obviously.

D. Memorize how to avoid a Power Play so you don't get hit by it the
next time.

E. Try to avoid touching guard rails as much as possible it is ok to
bump some of them and still get under the target time but just try to
keep it to a minimum.

F. If you crash or do a turn badly use restart because you won't make
it pass the specific time if you did either of those.

G. The main thing to watch out for with this detonator is the cranes and
the corners.

H. You will need to get under 01:10.00 to get 1st on this Detonator and
to know if you are on the right track for getting this time you should
get pass the large boat and crane at about 00:26.00 and you should be
driving pass the shortcut at about 00:55.00. When we did this track
while making this guide we got 01:09.49.

 %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
% Event 3: Construction Site Race (Vehicle used: Ryback Brawler) %
 %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%

Do the same as you did the last time you raced on this track and use
these Power Plays and shortcut to help to stay in first:

 %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
% Event 4: Ferry Wharf Race (Vehicle used: Ryback Brawler) %
 %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%

Just like you did earlier on this track with the same Power Plays
again:

@ Event 5: Dry Docks Detonator (Cobretti GT500 Challenge) @
   @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

The tips are pretty similar to the previous detonators except now the
detonators should be starting to feel a bit more difficult for you. A few of
my tips have changed as well:

A. Keep your finger on the gas most of the time except for at the horseshoe
turns.

B. Avoid drifting when you don't need to because it slows you down but I do
recommend drifting a little bit for the horseshoe turns on this track to at
least beat the target time.

C. Cut corners as close as you can without crashing obviously.

D. Memorize how to avoid a Power Play so you don't get hit by it the
next time because if this is your first time for this event one will
probably get you.

E. Try to avoid touching guard rails as much as possible it is ok to
bump some of them and still get under the target time but just try to
keep it to a minimum.

F. If you crash or do a turn very badly that is a waste of valuable time
like at the horseshoe turns use restart because you won't make it pass the
specific time if you did either of those.

G. The main thing to watch out for with this detonator is the Power Plays
and the

H. You will need to get under 01:29.00 to get 1st on this Detonator and
to know if you are on the right track for getting this time you should
be going under the large ship by at least 00:52.00 if not sooner. The
time I got when doing this track at the time of making this guide was
01:27.74. This was with bumping two guard rails and drifting a little
around the horseshoe curves.

you can lower for a shortcut however this one is a bit harder to use
then most shortcuts mainly because your rivals like using it also. Which

You should know how this works by now you need to come in first and there

A. As you drive along the highway you probably won't beable to fill up a
full bar in time but you can drop some of the vehicles from the upper
overpass before you go under it with a Level 2 Power Play. You can use it
on your second lap if you don't derail the train I mention in a moment.

B. As you make your way off the curving highway offramp you will see on
the left a alley that goes between two buildings and you will want to follow
that alley as a shortcut.

C. As you continue farther you will eventually see the helicopter with the
dump truck again that you can use with your level 2 Power Play.

D. If you use the one above try to build up a full bar before reaching the

two Shortcuts:

A. As you drive along the cliff edge when you get to the curve in the road
ahead you should see a large pipe that can be moved with a power play to
reveal a shortcut tunnel.

B. You will eventually see a bridge that is a two part Power Play. The
first lap you can drop the first support beam onto your rivals below it.
On your second lap you can drop the second support beam of that bridge
onto the rivals below it. I assume If you had a 3rd/final lap you would be
able to use a Level 2 Power Play to drop the entire bridge onto your rivals
below it.

C. Near the end of this track you will see a radar dish (like the one
from Airport Terminal) you can drop on your rivals.

D. As you reach the start/finish line after the first lap if you have a
bar of power you can use it on the plane that is missing it's tail that
is hanging from a crane to create a shortcut.

  @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Some tips are the same still and a few of my tips have changed:

A. Keep your finger on the gas the whole time.

B. Don't drift in this event as it only slows you down and basically DO NOT
use the brake at all. When you make a turn you will want to make it a wide
turn because this truck doesn't turn as fast as other vehicles. For instance
around the first curve going pass the first shortcut on this track you will
want to be as far right as you can and then make a left so that you get
around the guard rail without actually touching it but staying as close to
it as you can.

C. Cut corners as close as you can without crashing.

D. Take the shortcut through the Gas Station.

E. Memorize how to avoid Power Plays so you don't get hit by it the
next time.

E. Try to avoid touching all guard rails as much as possible it is ok to
bump one or two and still get under the target time but just try to
keep it as low as you can.

F. If you crash or do a turn very badly that is a waste of valuable time and
you will want to just restart. You won't make it pass the specific target
time if you did either of those.

G. The main thing to watch out for with this detonator is the crashing into
the bridge that is dropped and the sharp turns plus horseshoe turns on this
event.

H. You will need to get under 01:54.00 to get 1st on this Detonator and
to know if you are on the right track for getting this time you should
be going under the bridge at about 00:37.00 and going through the gas
station at about 00:59.00. You should also be going pass the radar dish at
about 01:42.00 and finally you should be going around the last turn just
before the finish line at about 01:51.00. The time we got when doing this
track at the time of making this guide was 01:53.89 and this was with
bumping two rails.

The object of this event is simple avoid the missiles as long as you can
while driving along. We recommend that you start by driving slow until the
target reticles show up on the ground then push the gas to start dodging
those missiles. If possible try to make it so that the helicopter is not
shooting missiles while your in a narrow parts of the track or you will be
more likely to have the entire road blocked by reticles which you can guess
won't make it easy for you to get that target score you need for 1st.

sank their battleship couldn't help myself) to create a new route onto
the flight deck of the aircraft carrier that is here.

% Event 1: Power Plant Race (Vehicle used: Cobretti GT RS) %
%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%

Here are some of the Power Plays and shortcuts you should be aware of
to keep you in 1st:

A. There is a tower to the left just before the first turn as you head down
the hill at the start of this race. To bring it down you will need a full
bar and if you want to activate it you will need to be near the start/finish
line.

B. As you reach the warehouse at the second turn of this track you can use a
Level 1 or Level 2 Power Plays on or in the warehouse as you approach it to
rearrange the contents inside on your rivals if there are any ahead of you
(it will prompt you with red or blue depending on where you or your rivals
are in the warehouse) and you can use one or two other power plays here to
drop the ceiling on the sides of this warehouse but your rivals usually use
them so you may not get the chance to use them.

C. When you reach the cooling towers you can use a Level 2 Power Play to
level one of them and then use a Level 2 Power Play on your next lap to level
the other one onto your rivals. On the first lap you can usually drive
through these as shortcuts but be warned if you do it on the second or third
lap you run a higher risk of it being leveled onto you.

D. After the second cooling tower you will see a warehouse up ahead that you
can use a power play on to open up a shortcut.

*******************************************************************
* Event 2: Port Bridge Air Revenge (Vehicle Used: Cobretti GT RS) *
*******************************************************************

For this event you will need to build up your bar by drifting as well as
avoiding missiles. Once you have done that use your Level 2 Power Play
(Circle) button to deflect the missiles back at the helicopter. Destroy
the Helicopter as fast as you can to reach the target time you need to
get 1st.

 %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
% Event 3: Construction Site Race (Vehicle used: Cobretti GT RS) %
 %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%

Do the same as you did the last time you raced on this track and use
these Power Plays and shortcut to help to stay in first:

   @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
@ Event 5: Power Plant Detonator (Ryback Cyclone Challenge) @
   @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Some tips are the same still and a few of my tips have changed:

A. Keep your finger on the gas the whole time.

B. Don't drift in this event as it only slows you down and basically DO NOT
use the brake at all. This feat is not easy especially with this car but
with persistance you should be able to get the target time.

C. Cut corners as close as you can without crashing of course.

D. Memorize how to avoid Power Plays so you don't get hit by it the
next time.

E. Try to avoid touching all guard rails as much as possible it is ok to
bump one or two and still get under the target time but just try to
keep it as minimal as you can.

F. If you crash or do a turn very badly that is a waste of valuable time and
you will want to just restart. You won't make it pass the specific target
time if you did either of those.

G. The only real danger here is losing time because of your turns and
swerving away from obstacles. Just try to stay as close to obstacles as you
possibly can and practice the turns and you should eventually get the target
time.

H. You will need to get under 01:21.00 to get 1st on this Detonator and
to know if you are on the right track for getting this time you should be
exiting the warehouse at about 1:18.30. You should make it around to the far
side of the second cooling tower at 1:00.00 and you should be going around
the final curve at about 1:15.00 or around there. The time we got when doing
this guide for this track was 1:20.58.

      @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
@ "Beat The Team" Trophy (Vehicle Used: Cobretti 530 GTS @
      @ Time To Beat: 01:18.00 @
      @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

We recommend using the Cobretti 530 GTS for this Trophy but I'm sure there
are other capable cars to get it with. Here are tips for this tough one:

A. Channel your inner no-mistake driver because you will definately need
them for this one. if you make any errors at all here you might as well
restart.

B. Try to avoid touching guardrails as much as possible even though some of
them here you can't help but grind against. If you do have to hit a guardrail
be sure you are in line with it to grind along it instead of bumping it
because the bump may help or it might also be counter productive and cause
your car to slide sideways slowing you down.

C. The only time you may want to release the gas for a split second is at
the turn just before the warehouse to cut that corner and speed towards the
doorway of the warehouse faster.Besides there you may want to slow down
slightly at the last few turns but we only did that if it looked like we
might crash.

D. The final turn for this track is what will make or break your entire lap.
and if you don't make the curve just right you better just restart. It is ok
if you hit the wall to the right just before the large monitors as we still
got the target time even hitting that just making it there is the trickest
part of this whole challenge.

E.To know if you are on the right track to beating the target time you should
be exiting the warehouse at 00:18:00 and you should be passing the wrecking
ball at 00:53.00. You should drive pass the arrow on the ground before the
shortcut warehouse you used in other events at about 1:00.00 and you should
make it into the ending stretch of track at about 01:09.00 and in the final
turn at about 01:14.00. The time we got when doing this guide was 1:17.33

To stay ahead of the pack you can use these 2 race/route changers and a
few shortcuts:

A. Build up your bar and after the horseshoe turn you come to you should
see a large ship you can blow up with your Level 2 Power Play. I recommend
once you use this just stay with this route because you will have ample
power plays to stop your rivals if you don't use them til the last lap
and you will have a shortcut for your advantage also.

When you destroy it you will be able
to jump over a building be warned though that if your back tires touch the
roof only your car will flip and crash. The downside for opening this path
is you won't have much time to stop a rival in front of you because there is
very few power plays after the shortcut I mention below.

F. After destroying it you will make turn to the right up ahead after
jumping over a rooftop and you will see a shipping container you can raise
for a shortcut to the left up ahead (if you have a bar full that is of
course).

% Event 1: Storm Drain Race (Vehicle used: Cobretti GT RS) %

Here is a list of the power plays and shortcut to help you get 1st:

A. As you start this race you should see a fence blocking a tunnel to the
left just before the sharp turn left and when you have enough power you can
use a Level 1 Power Play to open that tunnel for the shortcut.

B. As you go along the Storm drain or River Bed you should see the helicopter
with the dump truck that you can use with a Level 2 Power Play.

C. After going around the corner to the right of the helicopter you should
see three openings you can use your Level 1 power play to close the left and
right gates of those openings to stop your rivals.

D. After going pass those gates you can use a Level 1 on the train
and water tower you see at the edge of the storm drain before you start
curving to the left up ahead. You will need to come back around a second time
to use the water tower on your rivals.

E. As you reach the Power Plant you can drop the tower with a Level 2 Power
Play.

F. As you reach the warehouse of the Power Plant area you can use a Level 1
or level 2 Power Plays on the warehouse as you approach it to rearrange the
contents inside on your rivals if there are any ahead of you (it will prompt

% Event 3: Airplane Graveyard Race (Vehicle Used: Cobretti GT RS) %
%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%

For this event you should be made aware of the following 4 Power Plays and
two Shortcuts:

@ Event 4: Construction Site Detonator (Cobretti Pursuit Challenge) @
  @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Some tips are the same still and a few of my tips have changed:

A. Keep your finger on the gas the whole time.

B. You can drift if you want but I would say just don't do it. Even
if you do I don't think it will hurt hitting the target time to much
unless you are trying for the "Beat the Team" trophy then you probably
won't want to drift.

F. For this event if you take the shortcut you can crash and still make the
target time which means if you crash once you don't need to restart unless
you crash more then once.

G. The best way to get the target time is take the shortcut through the
collapsed building at the construction site and

H. You will need to get under 01:17.00 to get 1st on this Detonator and
to know if you are on the right track for getting this time you should be
entering the collapsed building at about 00:28.00 and you should be soaring
through the air at about 00:35.00 as you smash through the fence at
00:36.00. You should be going around the final turn at about 1:07.00
Our time for this track while making this guide was 1:13.89 and this is
with one crash near the end of the track.

  @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

We recommend using the Cobretti 530 GTS for this Trophy because it is
slightly faster but we also got it with the Elite GT12 so it is more just
your preference. The Tips for this one is as follws:

A. Hold down the gas the entire time.

B. Avoid touching guardrails or walls as much as possible and also avoid
the explosive shockwaves as all those will slow you down.

C. Take the Shortcut through the building at the construction site.

D. To know you are on the right track for time you should be Passing the
dump truck at about 00:18.00 hopefully avoiding any explosive shockwaves and
then you should be entering the small gap for the shortcut at 00:27.00. You
should be flying through the air at 00:33.40. You should have passed the
first set of explosive vehicles before the final turn at 1:00.00 and our time
for this one when making this guide was 1:06.89 and this was with touching a
wall or two and getting hit slightly by a explosive shockwave.

  &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
& Event 5: Airport Terminal Elimination (Vehicle used: Cobretti GT RS) &
  &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
You will need to stay ahead of the pack and to do so here are the Power
Plays and shortcuts:

A. The first one you will come to is after your first sharp left
turn you come to on this track. After you make the turn you will
be able to blow up the Airport Terminal building with a Level 2
power play if you have rival(s) near it.

To stay ahead of the pack you will want to utilize these power plays and
shortcut:

D. If you use the one above try to build up a full bar before reaching the
last portion of this track before the start/finish line and use the level 2
power play to derail the train. This will also make a route change so watch
out for that also.

For this event you should be made aware of the following 4 Power Plays and
two Shortcuts:

If you had a 3rd/final lap you would be
able to use a Power Play to drop the entire bridge onto your rivals below
it.

If you chose this as your Episode 7 you will get a choice of "Cleaning up"
or "Boneyard Rush" for your next Episode.

Here are the power plays and shortcut you should be aware of to keep you
ahead of your rivals:

A. As you start this race you should see a pipe straight ahead and this
would open up a shortcut if you had enough power. Once you make one lap
and have the power you can open up that shortcut.

B. As you start driving up the hill heading for the dam you can blow up the
near the start of this hill as you approach it if you have a full bar. You
can do it the first lap but you have to be very fast at filling up power.
Doing this will also create a new route.

C. Along this track there are various places for you to cause level 1 and
level 2 Rock slides or just drop rocks onto the track.

D. You will see the bridge again from the Airplane Graveyard Track and with
there being three laps you can now use it as a three part Power Play. The
first lap you can drop the first support beam onto your rivals below it.
On your second lap you can drop the second support beam of that bridge
onto the rivals below it. Now that you have a 3rd/final lap you can use a
Power Play to drop the entire bridge onto your rivals below it (if you want
to do this you can't take the shortcut and you will need to do it before you
even reach the bridge unlike the previous two laps).

Here are some of the Power Plays and shortcuts you should be aware of
to keep you in 1st:

A. There is a tower to the left just before the first turn as you head down
the hill at the start of this race. To bring it down you will need a full bar
and if you want to activate it you will need to be near the start/finish
line.

Some tips are the same still and a few of my tips have changed:

A. Keep your finger on the gas the whole time.

B. Drift only when you need to and when you do try to keep the drifting short
and fast in duration. With this particular car you can hold the gas down and
press down on the brake a little to make it drift in a short curve (takes
practice).

C. Cut corners as close as you can without crashing of course.

D. Memorize how to avoid Power Plays so you don't get hit by it the
next time. The main power play to watch out for is the Trash Truck as that
seem to get us the most out of all the power plays well that and the tire
that flies off the dump truck that the helicopter drags.

E. Try to avoid touching all guard rails as much as possible it is ok to

Here are two Power Plays and two shortcuts you should be aware of

For this event you will need to build up your bar by drifting as well as
avoiding missiles. Once you have done that use your Level 2 Power Play

@ Event 5: Storm Drain Detonator (Cobretti 530 GTS Challenge) @
   @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Some tips are the same still and a few of my tips have changed:

A. Keep your finger on the gas most of the time and the only time you will
want to release it is when you are going around the crucial turns to avoid
drifting through the turns because that will slow you down but only release
it for a split second to stop any drifting.

B. Do not drift as much as you can help it anyways.

C. Cut corners as close as you can without crashing of course.

D. Memorize how to avoid Power Plays so you don't get hit by it the
next time. For instance stay almost in the center of the storm drain when
the helicopter drops the dump truck and you should go through the flames and
just miss it.

E. Try to avoid touching all guard rails and walls as much as possible it is
ok to bump one or two and still get under the target time but just try to
keep it as minimal as you can.

F. The trouble spots here is the rolling tower in the storm drain and the
final turns that may slow you down.

G. You will need to get under 01:35.00 to get 1st on this Detonator and
to know if you are on the right track for getting this time you should be
going through the center tunnel at about 1:21.00 and be coming out of the
warehouse with it's shifting contents at about 1:17.00. You should be halfway
or more then halfway through the final turn at 1:30.00

You will need to stay ahead of the pack and to do so here are the Power
Plays and shortcuts:

A. The first one you will come to is after your first sharp left
turn you come to on this track. After you make the turn you will
be able to blow up the Airport Terminal building with a Level 2
power play if you have rival(s) near it.

For this event you should be made aware of the following 4 Power Plays and
two Shortcuts:

If you had a 3rd/final lap you would be
able to use a Power Play to drop the entire bridge onto your rivals below
it.

& Event 1: Expressway Elimination (Vehicle Used: Elite 440 Special) &
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

You should know how this works by now you need to come in first and there
are some power plays you should be aware of to help you stay in first:

A. As you drive along the highway you probably won't beable to fill up a
full bar in time but you can drop some of the vehicles from the upper
overpass before you go under it with a Level 2 Power Play. You can use it
on your second lap if you don't derail the train I mention in a moment.

B. As you make your way off the curving highway offramp you will see on
the left a alley that goes between two buildings and you will want to follow
that
alley as a shortcut.

C. As you continue farther you will eventually see the helicopter with the
dump truck again that you can use with your level 2 Power Play.

D. If you use the one above try to build up a full bar before reaching the
last portion of this track before the start/finish line and use the level 2
power play to derail the train. This will also make a route change so watch
out for that also.

to do this you can't take the shortcut and you will need to do it before you
even reach the bridge unlike the previous two laps but it is very hard
to activate due to a few factors one being that most rivals use the shortcut
and another being I'm not sure if you need to do the level 2 wall blowout to
weaken the bridge) This last power play is an iffy one but we have made it
happen multiple times on canyon races so it is possible.

  @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
@ Event 4: Canyon Detonator (Ryback Firestorm Challenge) @
  @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Some tips are the same still and a few of my tips have changed:

A. Keep your finger on the gas the whole time.

B. Do not drift.

F. You will need to get under 01:28.00 to get 1st on this Detonator and
to know if you are on the right track for getting this time you should be
reaching the collapsing dam at 00:21.00 and flying through the air at
00:33.00. You should be going under the destroyed bridge at 0:59.00 and
you should make it to the end of the final curve at about 01:24.00. Our
time for this track when making this guide was 01:26.49 (our new personal
best at the moment also).

  ***********************************************************
  * Event 5: Airplane Graveyard Air Revenge Cobretti GT RS) *
  ***********************************************************

For this event you will need to build up your bar by drifting as well as
avoiding missiles. Once you have done that use your Level 2 Power Play
(Circle) button to deflect the missiles back at the helicopter. Destroy
the Helicopter as fast as you can to reach the target time you need to
get 1st.

There are two Level 2 Power plays along this track to help you stay in
first:

A. After going pass the trash truck and as you follow the winding highway
towards a tunnel you should see a helicopter carrying a dump truck. Use the
Level 2 Power Play before reaching the left curve leading towards that
helicopter to cause havoc in that tunnel for your rivals.

B. We would recommend using this Power Play more so then the one above
though. Once you make one lap around the track and just before you reach
the start/finish line you will be able to drop the tall tower you see in
the distance up ahead on any rivals that are ahead of you. This will also
change the route.

Congratulations you have completed Split Second. Enjoy one of the slightly
varied endings.
