1.0) Introduction

LEGO Harry Potter, Years 1-4 is a quite good game, but unfortunately, it's
really full of a lot of game glitches, and only a single glitch can ruin the
ride for the platinum trophy, and force you to start a new game.
I know, this guide will give you some spoilers, but if you won't read it
carefully, you can really ruin your gameplay, and waste a lot of hours. This is
worse than the spoilers, believe me.
One big hint is to backup your save time to time, copying it on an USB
pendrive, this can really help you.
And please forgive me if sometimes you won't understand my English. After all,
I am Italian, and English is not my first language. Thank you.

2.0) Character token glitches
-----------------------------
- "Boy": this token can be obtained in the left Charms Classroom (where you
learn the "Wingardium Leviosa" spell, your first spell). on the upper floor of
the classroom there is a bookcase, you have to move four books to obtain the
token.
If you can move the books only three times, and they are not purple circled for
the fourth time... the token will never appera, and you have to start a new
game. I found this glitch when I was missing only that token for the platinum!
- "Girl": same thing as for the "Boy" token, but it takes in the right Charms
Classroom. This time you have to lit four candles: two on the upper floor, and
the other twon in the lower. If you don't obtain "Girl" you have to restar a
game again.

3.0) Level glitches
-------------------
- Book 2, chapter 4: "Riddle's Diary". If you quit for any reason the level,
and go back to Hogwarts, then you will NEVER be able to obtain the "Level
Complete" Gold Brick, and you will never reach 200 Gold Bricks. Start a new
game, or restore your old save data from the USB pendrive (read 1.0, please).
Some people say that sometimes this happens with other levels, the first time
you play them, but it's very rare. I suggest you to never quit a level the
first time you are playing it. It also seems that this not happens if you quit
the game of turn off the console using the PS3 button of your gamepad.
UPDATE: I fixed the problem deleting the 1.03 patch of the game, it seems that
this patch fix a glitch and cause another!

4.0) Various Glitches
---------------------
- Clock Tower (normal time): it's uncommon, but sometimes, after putting the
purple gears in their correct places, the Gold Brick doesn't appears.
You have to restore your old save data, or start a new game.
- Fast Magic: enabling it, sometimes causes moveable objects to get struck,
forcing you to restart the level, better not turning it on.
- Golden Brick Detector: sometimes the golden arrows show you Bricks that are
in other rooms.
- If Hermione drinks a Strenght Potion, the game simply quits, and send you
back to the XMB. Nothing more, no damages. It's really rare, and happened to me
only one time.
- Left Charms Room Basement: this is a BIG bug, it's called "the Basement of
Doom", because once you enter, you will never go out! There are two solutions:
the first involve downloading the available patch that fix the problem. The
second one is to use another glitch.
Select Hermione, run on the leftmost upper part of the room, there's a ledge.
Jump on to the ledge at the back and jump back and left so that Hermione dies,
as you jump press the "O" button to release her cat! If done correctly, the cat
will appear back in the classroom, then you only have to just walk out of the
classroom as a cat, and problem solved!
Better to download the patch!
- Polyjuice Potion: it's quite rare, but using it to transform during free
exploration in Hogwarts, can freeze the game. No other damages. It happened to
me only two times.
