*** Gaia *** -MMERTH-

After the scene take out the enemies that jump down around you and move ahead.
Once you regain control, take out the enemies and move to the fallen tree. Lift
it with the buttom prompts and continue forward until you run into a surprise.

- Water Steed -

During the fight, the horse will sometimes shoot out a blast of water in one of
three general areas: left, middle, or right. You can see the beast move and
when he changes what 'side' his current target is. When he rears straight back
be ready to get out of the line of fire. He will also strike with his claws
occasionally. He'll rear back and lift the claw he's about to hit with before
doing so - just stay away from that side of the area.

Once you do enough damage the battlefield will change. While hanging, climb
over to him and start attacking with your blades. Use X to dodge his attacks
(you can see him raise the claw he's about to attack with). After some hits the
field will change again. Climb all the way up and assault him with your blades.
Again, use X to quickly switch positions to dodge a claw attack. He will start
doing the water breath again. Watch the position of his head when he rears back
and quickly jump to a safe area.

After dealing enough damage you will shift to steady ground again. Watch for
his water breath attack while continuing to attack. He will also attack with
a full set of claws. Keep an eye out for the attack and, when he starts to
swipe, hit R2 to use your magic. Not only will it make you temporarily
invulnerable, but it will also deal a decent bit of damage to him. Once you've
dealt enough damage, follow the prompts to finish him off.

---------------

*** Mount Olympus *** -MTOLMP-

Make your way across the wall and up onto the ledge. Grab the red chest before
continuing down the path. Hug the wall as you move across the ledge and kill
the enemies on the other side. Jump onto the ledge above and climb the ladder
onto the wall.

Kill the enemies here and double jump onto the ledge in the background. Check
the pedestal for some information before using the grapple point to your left.
Once across, kill all enemies and double jump onto the wall at the left end.
Jump across to the ledge on the left and follow it around. At the end, use X
to pull yourself up, then jump and grab onto the vines overhead.

Once at the top, move ahead until the bridge gets broken. Drop down to find a
red chest, then climb back up using the platform at the lower left of the
screen. Use the Icarus Wings to get across the gap, then head into the archway
and open the door.

A centaur will follow you inside - quickly dispatch it. You can use the (S,S,T)
combo to easily and quickly stagger almost any enemy, including the centaur
here. Once all enemies are defeated, look in the center background for another
pedestal, then pull the lever on the left side of the room. Quickly run to the
right side and climb the ladder to reach the recently moved platform. Get onto
it before it moves back into position. Jump across the gap to find a red chest
and the first save point in the game. Move through the opening on the left and
open the gate.

- Water Steed -

Follow the prompt to be taken to a field on Gaia. Move in closer to the steed
to attack. He has two common claw attacks. If you are in close he will usually
swipe three times with claws on either side of him - just roll backwards. He
will also do a three-hit combo that progresses across the majority of the
battle area. For this, dodge the first two and you can either try to dodge to
the right area and hope he misses or use your magic to become temporarily
invincible. He will occasionally rear way back and do a far-ranging heavy
attack with all claws. When you see this, head all the way to the foreground of
the screen to keep from being hit.

Once you've gotten enough hits in on him, follow the prompt to rip off the tip
of one of his claws. He will start spouting his water breath again on top of
continuing all of his previous attacks. Once you've dealt enough damage, follow
the prompt to open his chest. Once open, run back and to the left to find the
claw tip you ripped off. Grab it to throw it into the exposed area.

---------------

Climb up the wall and fall down into Gaia. Move ahead and work your way through
the tight space. Head to the background and climb the vines. Work your way
across and jump across the gap a the other end.

*** Heart of Gaia *** -GIAHRT-

Climb the wall to the right to find Zeus' Eagle. Drop back down and grab onto
the wall on the right using R1(Look for a shining dot). Move the block to the
left and turn it 180 degrees using the right stick, then move it into the hole
on the left side of the room. Now climb up the vines on the left side and make
your way across and up.

Take out the enemies at the top, then continue along the path. Grab onto the
vines at the end of the path and jump across the gap on the other side. Use R1
to launch yourself up to another vine path and kill the enemies before climbing
up. When you can't climb any higher, jump up and use R1 to launch yourself
again. Climb to the top for a battle.

** Poseidon **

The goal here is to attack the claws holding on to Gaia on the left and right
side. When Poseidon moves off to the left or right of your screen, he's getting
ready to punch down another claw on the opposite side of the area. You'll also
see little blue sparks on the ground sometimes, signaling an incoming electric
attack. Move out of the sparks to avoid damage. Once both claws are loosened,
Gaia will grab onto Poseidon and tell you to grab her hand. Use R1 to launch
yourself over and get a little closer to the God.

Once you regain control, ignore the vines on the right. Run up to Poseidon and
attack him. He will occasionally pound down a fist - block it. He will also
rear back with his Trident. When this happens, roll back to the foreground and
away from Poseidon to avoid getting hit. Stay away from the Trident while it is
stuck in Gaia as it has a damaging electric pulse.

Poseidon will also use a triple-thrust attack with his trident, stabbing into
three separate(but always the same) locations. Stay in the middle of the area
when he stabs the first time, then roll towards Poseidon and get really close.
You should be able to get off a free combo before he finishes the attack
(Thanks to Jurd269).

Once Poseidon gasps for breath and you see the prompt appear, head to the right
and quickly climb the vines to get into range. Follow the prompts and you'll
reveal his weak spot.

Now is a repeat of the beginning of the fight, except the spark attack will now
have three waves in a row instead of just one at a time. Follow the button
prompts and watch the scene. Follow the prompts and watch another scene. When
you regain control, head to the left for a save point. Move onto Gaia's hand.

*** River Styx *** -RVRSTX-

Make your way down the river to slowly lose your Godly powers.

*** Realm of Hades *** -UNDWLD-

Follow the path for a scene. Once you regain control, turn left and examine the
pedestal. Move ahead and use R1 to swing across the gap. Jump short and fall to
the ledge below for two red chests. Follow the ledge around to the right for
the first Gorgon's Eye. Head to the middle and climb up.

Head across the right bridge to find the Hyperion Gate. Go back and take the
other bridge to find a save point. Look to the left of the save point for a
swing point. Use it to get across and kill the enemies before opening the four
red chests. Use the same swing points to get back across, then follow the path
to the right.

When battle begins, have fun using your new ability(you will temporarily have
infinite magic). You can examine the bramble covering the door if you want,
then jump and grab onto the rope at the top right of the screen. Three heavy
attacks will take down the enemies that meet you. Once across, drop down and
examine the shining dot near the end of the rope. Move ahead and drop down.

Look to the foreground for two red chests, then head to the back and examine
the shining dot. Once inside the room, follow the prompt to release yourself,
then quickly run to the middle and use your Phalanx to get rid of the smaller
enemies. If you follow the prompt to kill the gorgon you will be rewarded with
her head and some new info.

Once all the enemies are taken care of, open the door to the left and head down
the path. When you come to a small gap, drop down and head back to the fore-
ground to find two red chests. Continue down the path. Jump across the river
for a short scene.

Use the nearby broken pillar to get to higher ground, then jump on the platform
to see what it does. Jump back off to the left to let it rise again. Now jump
back to the platform and quickly move to the right and jump onto the ledge on
the right. Move into the small room and grab the bramble in the corner. Move it
to the small opening and kick it out.

Drop down and move the bramble to the other end of the area and position it
near the caged Cerberus to set it on fire. Now head all the way back to the man
and jump to the top again. Jump onto the platform that lowers and ride it all
the way down. Quickly run back across to the bramble you set on fire, and use
your Icarus Wings above the smoke to fly up and into the small area you opened
by lowering the platform. Pull the lever to release the Cerberus.

Attack the creature until the prompt shows up, then follow the commands. Once
you have control of the beast, ride it back to the man and use the flames to
light the bramble. Examine the body for Bow of Apollo. You can use the bows
charged attack to set the brambles on fire. Move to the right end of the area
and look up with your bow out to target a bramble. Charge a shot and let it fly
to open a new path. Move the smoking bramble from before to the left and use it
with your Icarus Wings to get into the new entryway for a red chest and a
Phoenix Feather.

Head back across the river and destroy the bramble to find a save point. Follow
the path and look to the right when it opens up for a note. Destroy the bramble
between the chests for a Minotaur Horn. Jump onto the ledge to the left and
follow the path. L1+Circle is great for taking out the Harpies. Once they are
all dead, head to the right.

Use your Icarus Wings to glide to the next platform, then grab onto the wall
and work your way across to the right. Climb up the wall at the end, then jump
to the ledge on the left. Work your way up and to the left. Jump across the
waterfall and grab the Gorgon eye at the end of the path. Head back to the
right and follow the ledge all the way.

Double jump to grab onto the vines and make your way across. Drop down, then
double jump across to the vines on the pillar. Climb up.

*** Judges of the Underworld *** -JUDGED-

Use the swing points to get across to the main platform. Look in the background
near a pool of water for a save point. Head to the left side of the foreground
and check the shining spot for some information. Move to the pedestal shown and
examine it. Check the book after each clear for a new trial.

Trial 1 - Just kill everything that you see; it will take a while.
Trial 2 - Kill the souls before they hit the glowing gate.
Trial 3 - Destroy everything.

The gates will now open. Before heading anywhere else, look to the left of the
area you just did the trials and jump across the gap to a ledge. Head to the
left for two red chests and a Gorgon Eye. Head back and examine the shining
spot from before for a scene. Save if you want, then head through the newly
opened gate and into the portal.

Look to the right of the portal for a pedestal. Head farther right and glide
across the gap. Continue along the path and use charged bow shots to blow up
the oil barrels as the minotaur come at you. As soon as you exit the tunnel,
turn right and enter the portal here. Check the paper on the ground, open the
chest for a Minotaur Horn, and pull the lever. Head back through the portal.
Move straight ahead and glide across the gap to find a red chest. Jump across
the gap to your left and follow along for a short scene.

Grab onto the nearby rope and make your way across. Head down the vines on the
right and follow the path. Examine the paper near the water and move ahead.
Squeeze into the opening on the right and follow the path on the other side.
The blue-glowing enemies will crawl towards you and explode once defeated, so
be wary. Look to the left for a red chest before crossing the thin bridge.

Follow the path and take out the enemies on the next bridge. When the path
opens up, look slightly to the right for a note on the ground. Shoot the
bramble to set it on fire. Use your wings above the vents to glide higher.
On the next platform, take out the two enemies. Pull the lever and very quickly
run to the left and double jump onto the wooden platform.

Grab the bramble barrel and move it over near the wooden platform you came up
on(or where the platform was). Jump down to the right and ride the platform up
again. When you get to the top, drag the barrel onto the platform and ride it
back down. Take out the enemies and drag the barrel over to where you flew up
with the vent. Kick the barrel down to increase the vents power.

Jump and glide all the way up until you latch onto a platform. Just hold on as
it pulls down. Once it stops, climb on top of it and open the door on the wall
for a red chest, an achievement, and a Phoenix Feather. Head back out and use
your wings to ride the vent all the way up and into the doorway at the top.

Follow the path and take the right path when it splits for a red chest. Head
back and to the left to find a pedestal. Head down the path and kill the
enemies that attack. Jump and glide down to the ledge below. Jump down from the
ledge.

*** The Forge *** -FORGE1-

Head up the steps and watch the scene. Once you have control, head to the right
for a save point. Pull the nearby lever to open a gate. Head back and towards
the foreground to move past the gate you just opened. Follow the path and use
the lever to move the doorway. When the doorway allows passage to the right,
stop spinning it and head through. Kill the hellhounds and grab the two red
chests - the one on the left can be hard to see. Head back and turn the doorway
to face the bramble in the background. Destroy the bramble and head down the
path.

After the scene take out the enemies. Drop down and use the swing points to get
across. Follow the right path and destroy the bramble on the door. Open the new
door after killing the Cerberus. After killing all enemies, look to the left
for a note, then head through the door.

*** Palace of Hades *** -UNDPLC-

Look to the left for a save point. Just past it, on the left, is a red chest
and a shining spot. Head to the right of the room to find a short passage with
a movable object at the end. Grab it and pull the object all the way back to
the wheel at the back left of the central room. Use the wheel, then push the
object under the flap so that the gate will not close. Climb up to the second
level and grab the two white chests before heading through the newly opened
gate.

Take out the enemies here, then head up the ramp to the right. Follow the
passage all the way to the next room. Head to the right and all the way to the
back for a white chest and a red chest. Head back and check the left path to
find a ladder in the room at the end. Climb it and look to the right for a
Phoenix Feather. Head back and grab the two red chests before dropping back
down. Head back to the split and turn the handle.

Press R1 after reading the pedestal to drop two ladders and spawn some enemies.
Head up the new ladder on the left side of the area and, once at the top, move
around to the right to find a lever. Pull it. Look to the right and open the
gate here.

Head out and grab the stones you used to stop the wheel before and move it back
to the elevator you just came down on. Pull the lever to go back up. Move the
stones near the wheel up here, then jump back down the hole with the ladder.
Go back to the handle and turn it to open the cuffs. Quickly go back to the
left ladder, head up it, and use the wheel. Push the stones under the flaps of
the wheel, then head back down and use the handle to open the cuffs again. This
time head up the right ladder and use its wheel to lock the statues hands in
place. Head back down to the pedestal and hit R1.

** Hades **

After the speech, get ready to hit the shoulder buttons when you first see
Hades. Use a hit-and-run tactic for Hades. When he climbs up he'll jump down
and create a shockwave; jump over it. He'll also swing his blades horizontally
along the ground in a wide swath. Just jump over it. Follow the button prompt
when it appears.

When the flesh is ripped from Hades, go over and attack it to keep it from
getting back to him. After the flesh is killed, Hades will do a chain attack
that hits any of the ground that gets blackened. There will always be a small
spot that doesn't, so take shelter there. Get back to attacking him and, after
another prompt, kill his moving flesh. This time he'll also have a new attack.
He'll occasionally wrap his blades around himself, then start shooting them up
through the ground; just keep moving. He'll also summon some spirit Cerberus,
but they disappear after hitting you once. Follow the next button prompt and
obtain the Claws of Hades.

Kill the enemies that spawn. When the big guy spawns, keep an eye out for
grapple points to use when necessary. Use the button prompts when they appear.
A save point will appear across the river. Head into the water and use square
to dive down and find Hades' Helm. Head downstream. Surface and have fun
with the fight, then jump into the water on the other side of the platform.
Head through the tunnel to the other side and surface. Pull the lever, then
drop back into the water and swim through the open gate. Watch the scene at the
end of the tunnel.

- Alternate Strategy - (Submitted by Chris D.)

- Note: This strategy can be useful on higher difficulties where you can be
killed in only a few hits. -

Make sure you have upgraded your Bow of Apollo to level 2. Stay a reasonable
distance away from Hades and use the rapid-fire ability of your bow until it
runs out of power, then wait for the item meter to regenerate. Repeat.

In phase 2, remember to jump over or duck under Hades' blade when he does his
area-sweeping attack. If he slowly buries one blade, and then the other, into
the ground and proceeds to pull them out with a slow-motion effect, it will
break your block and do damage; be sure to dodge it. When Hades fires off his
skull barrage, keep dodging until the disappear to avoid damage. Continue
firing arrows at Hades in between each set of three chain strikes.

Each time you rip off a piece of Hades' flesh, position yourself between the
moving lump and Hades. Use the (L1+Square) attack to knock it away from Hades
and kill a bunch of hands for health orbs. Once past the first three phases,
you are given a checkpoint in-game at each phase.

*** The Forge *** -FORGE2-

Head down the path to the right and kill the enemies when you get to the
circular room. Turn the door so that it opens to the background and head on
through. Follow the path and notice the active Hyperion Gate. Head to it and
move through it.

*** The City of Olympia *** -HICITY-

- Note: when you fight at the large golden gate, you can use your Claws of
Hades and spam the (L1+C) attack to pull out souls and build up your combo
meter. If you do this long enough without killing an enemy to spawn the dogs,
you can get your Hit Man trophy. May take practice and must be done on a high
enough difficulty for the enemies to not die (Titan or higher I believe). -

Head along the path and watch the scene. Head to the right and cut through the
vines holding her forearm and hand together. Head over and examine her thumb to
push the hand off the edge. Examine the door, then kill everything that spawns.
Head through the door when its all over.

Do like the game says and use the harpy to traverse the next area. After the
turn, when you see more harpies, drop down and look left for a red chest. Climb
back up and use the harpies to cross. Once across, wait for the harpies to
respawn, grab one, and use it to get to the ledge on the right of where you
are for a red chest, a Gorgon Eye, and a Minotaur Horn. Jump back down and
follow the path to find a save point.

Keep following the path for a short scene. Jump across the gap and take out the
enemies here. Head left to spawn a centaur. Head up the ramp to the left and
use the ballista. After killing the Chimera, use the ballista and time the
shot so that it hits Helios as he flies by in his chariot.

Head back down the ramp you came up and cross the big gap in the middle using
the new harpies. After killing all enemies open the right gate and look to the
left for a red chest. Take out enemies in the passageway as you go along. Turn
left when the path splits for another red chest. Head across the bridge ahead
and climb up the ladder. Follow along the wall until you get to Helios.

Once the phalanx is formed just wait for the ogre to come up. Attack the ogre
and use the prompt when it shows to ride on it. Use it's heavy attack to break
the phalanx. Once all enemies are dead, walk to Helios for prompts and scenes.
Use the Right Stick to move Kratos' right hand. Your goal is to cover the
source of the light with your right hand so that you can advance. Stomp his
head a few times then see another scene. Follow the prompts to gain Head of
Helios. Use your new buddy and look to the right of his body to find Helios'
Shield, then face the foreground and use it on the corner to find a chest
containing a Minotaur Horn(Thanks to Psykoelpunisher). Head back and use the
head on the wall in the background. Once you have revealed enough of the wall,
it will turn into a door and you can go on through. Head down the dark path.

*** The Path of Eos *** -PTHEOS-

Look along the wall to the left to find a Gorgon Eye. Follow the path to find
a save point and a pedestal, then continue ahead. Follow the path through the
dark until a blue field appears. Take out all of the harpies, then move all the
way to the left and use the Head of Helios to reveal another opening. Continue
forward.

At the end of the corridor, do not get onto the rope. Run off of the ledge and
drop down to find a red chest and a Phoenix Feather. Climb back up and jump
onto the rope. Head across. Drop off of the rope at the end, then jump to the
ledges above. Head down the passage. When the area opens you'll see a scene.

Use the harpy to cross the gap. Head across the bridge and double jump to the
right when you come to a gap to find two red chests. Jump back then head toward
the gap in the background but do not jump, just drop down to find a red chest.
Climb up the nearby vines to fight a few Wraiths. If you are having trouble
with these, you can jump back to the previous platform and use charged shots
from your Bow of Apollo to easily and safely get rid of them. Follow the path.
When you see two chests, look to the right and use Head of Helios to make a
wall disappear and grab a Gorgon Eye.

Head to the left and kill the enemies on the bridge. At the end of the bridge,
turn left and grab the Phoenix Feather there (You cannot see the chest, but an
R1 prompt will come up). Head up the ramp and head to the back left of the
chain. Use your Head of Helios to find a red chest. Head all the way to the
right to find another red chest. Use the nearby save point, then jump and use
your Icarus Wings while above the air vent.

*** The Chain of Balance *** -CHNBLC-

Dodge stuff as you fly by. Just follow the platforms and nets up. When you
reach the platform just after climbing across the wall with falling boulders,
use your Head of Helios to uncover a chest containing a Phoenix Feather(Thanks
to Walter and Brent). Continue up and follow the prompts to get out.

*** The Caverns *** -CAVES1-

Head to the back right corner and use your Head of Helios to reveal a chest
with a Minotaur Horn. Destroy the bramble with your bow. After the scene, use
the new swing point to get onto the raised platform. Once on top of the new box
you can destroy the bramble again. Kill the enemies as the box moves. When the
minotaur come out you need to keep them from breaking the chain.

Jump across to the next box to meet Hermes. Use the nearby swing point to grab
onto the chain. Climb up until you get to the top.

*** The Flame of Olympus *** -BGFLMS-

Look to the right for a save point. Check out the flame in the center. Use the
Head of Helios at each pedestal to reveal a painting and some information. Head
to the chain opposite the one you came in on and check the walls with Head of
Helios to find a hidden room with three red chests and a Gorgon Eye. Head to
the save point and follow Hermes.

Continue up the stairs after Hermes jumps to find two red chests and a pedestal
to examine. Go back and glide down to Hermes. Grab onto the wall and head down.

*** The Olympian Citadel *** -OLCTDL-

This area has a lot of ways to die isntantly. Just keep moving. Once you land
with the statues head, exit through the doorway at the top left of the screen
and glide across the next gap. Jump to the ledge above and find yourself back
where you were. Attack Hermes with your Light Attack combos until you get a
scene. Follow the prompts and get Boots of Hermes. Head to the far end of the
room and look behind the statues head to get Hermes' Coin.

Dash up the wooden structure for a save point. Head across the walls to find a
red chest and a white chest. When you get outside, look to the foreground for a
red chest. Head across the bridge and grab another red chest. Run up the wooden
structure, then run across the wall. Use your Head of Helios in the lower
corner to find a chest containing a Phoenix Feather. Climb up the wall near the
statue in the next room.

Head outside and climb up the wall here. Jump and glide towards the chest at
the top right of the screen. Follow the path and kill all enemies. Once all are
dead, head to the left for a red chest and a Minotaur Horn. Head back and go
through the door the game showed you.

going right and enter the hallway. Kill everything and continue. Grab the red
chest before heading up the staircase. Open the gate ahead.

Head to the left to find a red chest. Use the air vent just to the left to find
another red chest and a Phoenix Feather on either side of the vent. Drop back
down and head to the right side of the room. Use the vent here to find a red
chest. Jump across to the other side of the vent and jump to the nearby
platform. Use the levers here to turn the blocks below. The point is to make
a full Sword of Olympus with the hilt starting at the left and the tip all the
way at the right. Once done, jump down.

Check the pedestal for some information, then examine the playstation buttons.
Press the correct keys as they pass through the figure-eight looking thing.
Watch the scene. Pull the lever. Once at the bottom, pull the lever again and
get off of the platform to reveal four red chests(Thanks to Joseph K.). Save if
you want, then head up the new stairs.

Grab onto the lever and pull it until it stops. Head through the newly opened
door and head down the passage while killing the enemies. Head down the stairs
and use the Head of Helios at the base to find a chest containing a Gorgon Eye.
Use the save point here before heading down the hallway.

*** The Forum *** -TFORUM-

Kill everything that spawns until Hercules comes down.

** Hercules **

Once Hercules drops, keep taking down the small fries but be aware of where
he stays. When he charges you, quickly press circle until you have control,
then run him into one of the thorned statues. Do this twice. Then just play
hit-and-run until he blinds you. Run up and follow the prompts. Once you land
in the water, head back into the water and dive down to find Hercules' Shoulder
Guard.

Get out of the water and follow the path. Kill all enemies, then use the Cestus
to break the onyx. Pull the lever. Use the Cestus to break the phalanx, then
make your way back to the water and out through the underwater tunnel. When you
get out of the water, head to the foreground to find a red chest and a Minotaur
Horn.

*** Poseidon's Chamber *** -POSCHM-

Take out all enemies and use the wheel at the top left of the screen. Head
through the gate just to the right to find a save point. Turn right and go talk
to Poseidon's lady. Follow the path to a room full of portals. You can't jump
into the water here. Glide into the portal to the right and, once you've come
out the other side, head to the left and jump across to the ledge. pull the
lever.

Drop down and open the two red chests. Don't kill the dogs. Grab them with
circle and kick them into the portal on the right to lower the platform in
front of you. Once four dogs have been kicked onto the platform, go through it
yourself and head into the lower portal in the background for a scene.

When you regain control, look to the background to find a letter and a red
chest. Head to the right side of the portal to find Poseidon's Conch Shell and
a Gorgon Eye. Head back through the portal. Now kill the dogs. When the lady
falls, go and grab her. Kill the new dogs and use the prompt when it appears.

Head back through the portal and kill the new enemies. On harder difficulties
these guys can be a pain in the butt. An easy way to take them down is to head
back through the portal and jump onto the ledge on the left that has the lever
on it. From there just shoot them with your bow until they are dead. Either
way, once down, head through the doorway and take out the shielded soldiers.
Use the prompt on the lady three times, then open the gate down the left path.
Take out the enemies here and use the wheel. Head past the save point and into
the newly opened gate for a scene.

Check just in front of the statue for a note. Look at the left side of the room
with Head of Helios to find a chest with a Phoenix Feather. Head down the left
path and follow it outside. Check the dead bodies and head towards the lever in
the back.

the Phoenix Feath on the right side of the path before continuing. Take out the
enemies that appear and grab the red chest to the left. Use the rocks to climb
to the ledge above for a white chest. Head up the staircase.

*** Gates of Tisiphone *** -GTSTIS-

- BEWARE: There is a glitch in this room that will require you to reload a
previous save/checkpoint. After pushing in the two blocks at the bottom of
the wall to reveal more climbable area, you'll need to grab onto a harpy and
use it to fly from the left wall over to a platform on the top right wall to
hit a switch. If you fall short and grab onto the ledge, you will be prompted
to hit R1 to activate the switch - do *NOT* do it. Activating the switch in
this way will push in the block you are hanging on to but not actually release
the other blocks that should be revealed(Thanks to Joel C.). -

Take out the chimaera that spawn. Check the right side of the room for a white
chest. Head to the left corner and pull on the chain until it stops. Move over
a little and push in the nearest box. Jump up to the second ledge and glide to
the left to find a red chest. Drop down and head over to the right chain. Pull
it all the way down and, again, push the nearby block into the wall. Now go
back to the left and jump up onto the second ledge to see a harpy. Use it to
get over to the right set of blocks. Make your way up a couple of blocks, then
over to the shining point on the left. Push the block in.

Double jump over to a ledge to the left to find another red chest, then head
back and use the harpy to get over and onto the platform on the right. Push
this block in, then jump to the right to find a ledge with a red chest and a
Gorgon Eye. Jump back and head to the top of the block wall. Use the object.
Look to the left of the save point ahead for a Phoenix Feather.

*** The Pit of Tartarus *** -PITART-

Move ahead and take out the enemies that spawn. Check the pedestal before
heading down the path to the left. Follow the path down to the bottom and glide
over the gap. Turn right just as you land to find a Minotaur Horn. Follow the
path and use R1 at the shining spot for a scene.

** Cronos **

Use circle to break free of his finger grip and charge up your Head of Helios.
When Cronos begins to lean his head towards you, release the flash to blind him
and follow the prompts to land on one of his hands. Take out enemies as they
spawn - they come from a hole in the background. Eventually the camera will
zoom out and the cuff on Cronos will turn. Climb up and through the opening.

Attack and break the giant pimple above you. You'll be on level ground again,
so take out enemies as they come. When Cronos grabs onto the edge attack his
fingers. Once you destroy the fingernail a prompt will appear; follow it.

When Cronos raises his hand you'll see shadows on the ground. Stay out of the
shadows to keep from getting squished. While his hand is on the ground, jump
onto the bare spot of one of his fingers to grab on. Kill the enemy on top and
charge a flare with your Head of Helios to blind him again. Follow the prompts.

Climb the wall and use the swing point to reach a ledge. Kill all enemies here,
then open the door. Use your Cestus to break the blue crystal. You'll be
grabbed before you're able to do much else. Kill all enemies here and wait for
Cronos to squish you. Follow the prompt to break free. Follow along the ceiling
and kill the enemies that spawn. Follow the prompts that show up.

You must quickly run down this path or you will die when Cronos catches you.
Once you get to the top, destroy the enemies and an abomination will spawn.
When able, use the prompt sequence to ride the giant and use its attacks to
tear the flesh it emerged from.

Follow the prompts. Once eaten, you must quickly drop down the wall before the
crap at the top reaches you. Follow the prompts to rip your way out and acquire
the Omphalos Stone.

Follow along the bare areas to get back to where you tried to destroy the
crystal. Finish the job and follow the prompts. Break the tip of the crystal
off and make your way to Cronos' forehead. After his spiel follow the prompts.

Once you've landed, break the crystal ahead of you and drop down for a scene.
Move up and grab your new weapons, then follow the prompts. Attack the shiny
object until the camera changes. Take out the enemies that spawn, then head
left towards Tartarus to find Hephaestus' Ring. Head to the right and save,
then run up the wall and head through the Hyperion Gate and back to Aphrodite.

Head down the stairs when you're ready and out the door. Take out the enemies.

do the same to have access to a new area. Jump across the gap and enter the
door. Follow the passage. A short scene will occur. Once you regain control,

Head left and examine the open book on the wall. Head to the back of the room
for two more books to examine. Check the back right corner for another book.
Pull the lever on the right side of the room to raise the platform holding the
ballista. Use the ballista to shoot down the gate. From the raised platform,
jump to the portal on the right wall and grab the red chest where you emerge.

Drop back down and turn the ballista so that it would fire to the left. Fire it
and climb along the rope to find the final Gorgon Eye. Jump down and "use" the
ballista to retract the rope. Turn the ballista back to its original position,
then run up the wall to the right to enter an orange portal. Pull the lever and
go back through the portal and quickly fire the ballista to free the two chests
containing Daedalus' Schematics and a Phoenix Feather.

Fire the ballista again, then head through the blue portal on the right wall.
Jump from the ledge and glide over to the rope. Climb all the way to the
foreground to find four red chests. Drop down and pull the lever at the bottom
right of the area to lower the ballista. Turn it to shoot towards the left and
fire it. Jump into the blue portal on the right side of the room, then jump off
the ledge and glide around to grab onto the rope. Climb across for a red chest
and a Minotaur Horn. Drop down and head to the background and down the rope in
the back.

Drop down and look to the foreground for a red chest and another Minotaur Horn.
Move up the ramp and head outside for a short scene. Head down the path to find
Hera. Head left to find a save point after the scene. Continue left for Hera's

more red chests. Go back to the save point and follow the path. Kill the
enemies that attack and round the corner. Look straight ahead for a red chest,
then head back and take the right path. Follow the path into a short tunnel and

uncover a chest with some red orbs(Gorgon Eye; Thanks to Tony G.). Head back to
the green chest. Head down the path to the right of the green chest, heading
into the background.

Head straight and to the gate at the other side of the area. Use R1 to lower
it. Head back and stand atop the shining button until you see a message. Once
you regain control, head down and jump over that gate you just opened. Move to
the left and climb the stairs. Head to the right and open the gate. Go down the
ladder and look to the foreground for a red chest. Move ahead.

When you come to a gap, jump and glide into the small opening on the left to
find a chest containing a Minotaur Horn. Head out and jump to the ledge in the
background. Grab the pillar and move it to the left with you. Spin the pillar
so that the stairs descend towards the left and move it under the waterfall on
the right. Head through the newly opened gate for a scene.

go back to the chalice you filled with water and shoot the bramble to the left
of it. Move the pillar over to where the brample was. Now go and stand on the
button to make everything turn green. Water will pour down and fill the chalice
to open another path. Now grab the pillar and take it down the ramp with you.
Turn it so that the stairs are descending towards the right and move it as far
as you can down the bottom right of the area. Turn the place green again, grab
Hera, and use the path to drop her into the nearby chalice.

Grab the pillar and move it so that it sits atop the button that turns every-
thing green. Make your way along the path for a scene at the end. Head down the
path and use the harpies to cross the gap. Turn the handle at the end to open
the doorway ahead of you. Save just to the right of the doorway and look down
from the save point for a red chest. Look on the opposite side of the stairs
with your Head of Helios to reveal a chest containing a Gorgon Eye(Thanks to
Dennis B.).

area opens up for a chest containing some red orbs. Continue down the path and
use the giant wheel. Head towards the background and follow the path until you
come to a green chest on your right. Look to the left for a note on the ground.

once it has fallen and is stunned to get your 1000 hit combo trophy since the
battle will only progress if you hit Skorpius with your Cestus. --

After dispatching the little guys a gigantic scorpion thing will attack. Follow
the prompts to free yourself and use the Cestus to break the onyx on its body.
Use your Hermes Boots to close the distance so you can hit the onyx. Once you
have broken enough legs the biggun will drop down and a bunch of smaller ones
will swarm. Take this opportunity to smash the big one in its face. Eventually
a prompt will appear; follow it. The biggun will run off-screen and summon a
bunch of the little guys. It will come back and attack from the edge, then come
on top. Use this time to break its legs before it goes back off-screen.

Once all the legs have been broken it'll drop again. Hit it until the prompt
appears. After the scene and prompts, use your Cestus to break the crystallized
body. Head to the top right of the screen and break the tail to find Boreas
Icestorm.

next set cover the entire area. Grab onto a harpy to stay above the spikes
until the room turns. Quickly exit through the door when it opens to find a
save point.

Jump across the gap and use your Cestus to break the onyx blocking the gate.

find a chest containing some red orbs. Move ahead with Pandora. After killing
the enemies in the next room, grab the lever on the wall and pull it back so

chest containing red orbs. Head across the bridge and grab onto the vines to
the right. Climb down and destroy the onyx there. Climb back up and glide
across the gap. Head back and through the portal before the tunnel. Break the
chains. Watch the scene.

parry-return his bolts thanks to the Golden Fleece. When he jumps into the air,
back away quickly. Watch the scene after enough time has passed or damage is
done.

Once inside Gaia, follow the path just like in the beginning of the game. Use
your Cestus to break the onyx around Gaia's heart. Use your bow to burn off the
bramble, then attack Gaia's heart directly. After dealing so many hits Zeus
will attack. Treat the battle the same way you did before Gaia interrupted.
You can hit Gaia's heart to receive health orbs. Eventually Zeus will show a
prompt. Follow it. Watch.

*Challenges* -CHLNGS-
************

The Challenges can be found under the Features option of the main menu once the
game has been completed.

** Challenge 01 - Population Control **

Time: 00:01:40

"Don't allow there to be more than 50 enemies at the same time. Kill them
before too many spawn."

You only have access to the Nemean Cestus weapon for this challenge. Look for
clumps of enemies as you move around the platform and use your R1+square attack
to send them flying. This move works well for three reasons: You can kill any
of these enemies with two swipes of this attack, you can use it while enemies
are near a ledge to knock them off and kill them, and it hits everything near
you. Just keep running around and using the attack (aim for large groups and
smaller groups near the edge of the arena) until the timer stop.

** Challenge 02 - Bare Hands **

"Before time runs out, kill all the enemies without using any weapons."

Time: 00:01:15

For this challenge, you have no weapons to use and no normal attacks or magic.
Grab the small enemies and hit square to run around with them as a shield.
Focus on hitting the larger enemies with your ram. Try to lure the larger guys
near the edge. If you can ram them while they are close to it you can knock
them off when they stagger from the damage (this was the only way I was able to
complete the challenge. Be wary of staying near the edge yourself, though,
since you can also be knocked off. Do -NOT- use the quicktime events to finish
off the large enemies as it takes way too much time.

** Challenge 03 - Get Stoned **

"Allow the Gorgons to turn you to stone 10 times without dying."

Time: N/A

- Note: I've been told that you can force the gorgons to use their stone gaze
attack by attempting to grab them. In conjuction with intentionally failing
the quick time event while parrying the beam, you can control when and where
you get stoned(Thanks to M. Larmer). -

For this challenge you simply need to allow yourself to be turned to stone ten
times without dying. If you need health at any point, grab the slow-moving
zombies and use circle to stab them to death for a little bit of green. Try to
get stoned in an area with no enemies nearby if possible and get ready to
jiggle your stick. Take out the smaller enemies while waiting for the gorgon to
shoot her beam. Once you have been stoned twice, some harpies will spawn (most
annoying) and, since you are actually using the Blades of Athena, you can't use
L1+Circle to grab them from a distance. You are given the Boots of Hermes to
quickly move around the arena. Try to avoid jumping. Use your heavy attacks or
the L1+Circle combonear the harpies to take them down. After your fourth
stoning some Satyrs will spawn along with a second gorgon, complicating things
even more. At this point it is more beneficial to use your Boots of Hermes to
run around the arena to avoid damage while waiting for a well placed/timed
green beam. When enemies start piling up, use your Golden Fleece to parry the
stone beam and hit the correct quick time button to turn all enemies to stone.
Quickly take out the most threatening enemies and continue with the challenge.
At seven stonings, you get to play with two ball ogres. Yay. When it gets
tougher to find a good place to get stoned, remember that you can use L1 to
bring up the quick time prompt and press the wrong button to instantly freeze
yourself. this is extremely useful if you've found a good location but don't
have much time before enemies close in. Also, keep a close eye on your health
at this point and act accordingly. If you do get caught in the air with a beam
on you, furiously jiggle your right stick and you may get lucky (the air evade
might keep you out of the beam long enough to not turn to stone). The key to
completing this challenge is knowing when to use the self instant-freeze (by
hitting the wrong prompt after parrying the beam) and quickly break out.

** Challenge 04 - El Matador - Ole **

"Don't get gored by the Minotaurs. Don't get piled on by the enemies."

Time: N/A

- Note: I've been told that you can easily get rid of the minotaur by standing
very, very close to the edge of the arena and double jumping as the minotaur
charges at you(Thanks to J. Wrightsman, KillerApp23, and M. Larmer). -

- Note: You also have access to your Rage of Sparta on this challenge.
Activating it during the fourth and fifth waves should help if you are having
problems completing the challenge(Thanks to Tony). -

- Note: On the fifth wave you can also double jump off of the platform, then
glide back, to have all three minotaur charge off of the edge. Once done, since
you have access to the fully upgraded Blades of Exile, you can use Cyclone of
Chaos Lv. 2 and continuously tap Square to take out the remaining ghouls(Thanks
to Jurd269). -

You must take out each wave without being gored or piled on.The easiest way to
avoid being gored is to double jump and glide down while moving to the opposite
side as the direction the minotaur is facing. While fighting the ghoulies keep
jumping when they close in on you to break the grabs before they fully connect.
When they ghoulies start coming in larger numbers, grab one and use square to
use it as a ram to take out quite a few quickly. You can also use your Boots of
Hermes to dash through a bunch and knock them away. For wave one you can kill
the minotaur quickly before it rushes with your Tartarus Rage combo (T,T,T).
Next will be four ghouls, if you use your Tartarus Rage combo again while they
are crawling out you can kill all four before they pop up. Next two more
minotaur will spawn. Pick one and use Tartarus Rage to kill it while it pulls
itself out. Use the strategy above to avoid the gore and, immediately after he
gores the air, hit him with (S,S,S,S,S,S,T) and it should kill him. Immediately
start the Tartarus Rage combo in the background spawn area and the final hit
should take out all but one or two of the spawning ghouls. Kill those remaining
and get ready for wave five. This time you'll get six ghouls and three minotaur
spawning for you. Grab the nearest ghoul and ram him into the minotaur to knock
them off the edge of the platform. Take out the remaining ghouls.

** Challenge 05 - Knockout **

"Score 1000 points by knocking enemies out of the arena. Sentry = 15 points,
Minotaur = 30 points, Wraith = 60 points."

Time: 00:01:00

You are only given the blades of exile for this challenge. Attack the ogre that
spawns and take control using the prompt. Head towards clumps of enemies while
spamming the square button.

** Challenge 06 - Hades' Kids **

"They don't die, they multiply. Get 5 Cyclops to spawn."

Time: 00:01:30

Approach the cyclops and spam Tartarus Rage to keep it off balance. Once it
dies two more will spawn. Use (S,S,T) to quickly stagger them and take them
out. Each time you kill one, you add another to the mix. The point is to have
5 alive at the same time.

** Challenge 07 - Simply Smashing **

"Destroy all the urns before time runs out."

Time: 00:00:20

You have access to the Blades of Athena and the Boots of Hermes for this
challenge. It is much more beneficial to use single light attack swipes to take
out the urns, as opposed to using combos. This urn challenge is much, much,
much, much, much easier than the urn challenges in previous games.

Completing all seven challenges unlocks the Combat Arena under the Features
option on the main menu. In the Combat Arena you can completely customize a
battle to have some fun ripping things apart.

sever a head. After three quick time events, it will die. You can

          quicker kill. No grabs.

- Chimera -

generally stay at a range while spitting fire in your direction. Use
your Golden Fleece to return the fireballs for some extra damage. Use
quick Light Attacks to get in some damage until another prompt
appears. Once you have taken care of the lion, it will get back on

enemy. You can continue using the above combo to keep one or more of
these staggered until the quick time event prompt shows up. If you
choose not to do that, keep an eye out for one of these rearing back
as he will throw that huge ball at you soon after. No Grabs.

Recommended Weapon(s): Blades of Exile

Strategy: Use hit-and-run tactics to deal damage while avoiding his sweeping
attacks. Once you've dealt enough damage, follow the prompt to get on

*** Sub-Bosses *** -SUBNME-

-- Water Steed --

Met: First Encounter - Gaia; Final Encounter - Mount Olympus

First Encounter:

Final Encounter:

-- Hephaestus --

Domain: Technology, volcanoes, metals, craftsmen, and artisans.
Symbolism: Hammer, anvil, tongs
Met: The Forge

Ridiculously short fight. After the prompt sequences head to the right back-
ground and hit the pole there with your new Nemesis Whip until it fully charges
to kill him.

-- Skorpius --

Follow the prompts to free yourself and use the Cestus to break the onyx on its
body. Use your Hermes Boots to close the distance so you can hit the onyx. Once
you have broken enough legs the biggun will drop down and a bunch of smaller
ones will swarm. Take this opportunity to smash the big one in its face.
Eventually a prompt will appear; follow it. The biggun will run off-screen and
summon a bunch of the little guys. It will come back and attack from the edge,
then come on top. Use this time to break its legs before it goes back off-
screen.

Once all the legs have been broken it'll drop again. Hit it until the prompt
appears. After the scene and prompts, use your Cestus to break the crystallized
body.

*** Bosses *** -BIGNME-

- Information about Gods are taken from a mix of wikipedia.org and my personal
interest in greek mythology. -

** Poseidon **

Domain: Seas and earthquakes.
Symbolism: Tridents and hippocampus (horse that could ride on the sea)
Met: Just after leaving the Heart of Gaia.

When this happens, roll back to the fore-ground and
away from Poseidon to avoid getting hit.

** Hades **

Domain: Hades (the underworld)
Symbolism: Cerberus, cypress, and helm of darkness.
Met: Palace of Hades

** Hermes **

Domain: Cunning, commerce, traveling and boundaries.
Symbolism: Caduceus and winged sandals.
Met: First time through the Caverns. Fought in the Olympian Citadel.

Hermes will dodge many of your attacks and rush in quickly with some of his
own. Just pelt him with your Light Attack combos (since the have a wide range).
He'll occasionally jump at you; just follow the promtps. Once you've dealt
enough damage a scene will take place.

** Hercules **

Domain: N/A
Symbolism: Lion pelt
Met: The Forum

Once Hercules drops, keep taking down the small fries but be aware of where
he stays. When he charges you, quickly press circle until you have control,
then run him into one of the thorned statues. Do this twice. Then just play
hit-and-run until he blinds you. Run up and follow the prompts. Once you land
in the water, head back into the water and dive down to find Hercules' Shoulder
Guard.

** Cronos **

Domain: Farming
Symbolism: Sickle
Met: Pit of Tartarus

** Zeus **

Domain: Sky and thunder; Ruler of all Gods.
Symbolism: Lightning bolt, eagle, bull, and oak.
Met: The Flame of Olympus

Once on the ledge, fight Zeus until you see a circle prompt. Keep attacking
however you want until the next prompt, then follow it. Watch the scene.

After the scene follow the path to a save point and head out the door. Glide
down to Zeus and watch the scene. Use hit-and-run tactics on Zeus. You can
parry-return his bolts thanks to the Golden Fleece.

Eventually Zeus will show a
prompt. Follow it. Watch.
