You may be wondering what I've got for you today. Hwell, nothing more than a full guide to getting all the Broken Witch Hearts and Broken Moon Pearls in Bayonetta (and by extension the locations of and how to complete all the Alfheims since they all give you hearts and pearls). But you think I'ma settle for a simple text guide? Hell no! In addition to this guide I'll provide you with videos of the locations of each one as well as me beating every Alfheim. That's just how I roll. The Alfheims are basically like the secret missions in DMC. They're pretty fun. They're a bit harder than the main game but not unreasonable. With perseverance you can beat them all. Are you serious? Why are you even here if you ain't know that much? Kidding, kidding, I know none of you are actually saying this. But I'll say it just for kicks: 4 broken Witch Hearts raise your maximum health and 2 broken moon pearls give you an extra magic orb. With this guide you'll have maximum health and maximum magic. Sure, you can beat the game with no health, but it's nice to look at the top of the screen and see two full length bars right? Of course. So yeah, I busted my ass to find all these bitches not once but twice, and make the videos on top of it so you fucks better be appreciative for once instead of giving me lip like last time. "Waaaah you use too many bad words!" "Waaaaahhh I'm offended by words on the internet, I'm gonna tell on you!" "Waaaaaaaahhh I read your guide and I don't even have any reason but I'm bitching anyway" Fuck you. Go to JAIL. But I'm not writing for those little shits. I'm writing for you. The cool guys. You know how it is. Just keepin' it real. So without further ado, let's riggidy roll! --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---Chapter I: The Angel's Metropolis--- The first video over at http://scathingaccuracy.com/article.asp?guide/2009.11.08-S.A._Renegade covers everything starting from here till the fourth Alfheim. -Broken Moon Pearl #1- Aight, so the first pearl is hidden in a pretty sneaky way and you're liable to miss it your first time through since you ain't know shit about the game yet. Right at the start when you get off the train, jump up on top of it. You'll see that there's a second floor up high. If you double jump and then wall jump on the rail you can get up there. Next, what you have to do here is break all the benches around here. Once you break the last one, the train will leave, and you'll spot the first broken moon pearl on the tracks. Yeah I know, p. sneaky huh? Well guess what. You ain't seen nuthin' yet, fool. -Alfheim 1: Broken Moon Pearl #2- After verse 3, when you get past the water with witch time and activate the elevator, don't use it! It's one of those trap elevators that only go one way, so once you go up you can't go back down. Anyway, backtrack all the way back to where you found the key just a couple minutes ago. You'll find the first Alfheim here. Get inside, and let's do this! For this one you're supposed to kill all enemies within the time limit but you can only damage them during witch time. You can get hit up to 5 times on normal. I've done it on hard and I could swear they only let you get hit like 3 times. Oh well. Anyway like I said it's nothing special. Hell, if anything the hardest part is that the enemies are pussies and barely attack you so there are less chances to dodge. Not to mention the fact that you have nothing at this point, not even the air dodge. I love that thing. I need it! But we gotta make do. Just get close to an enemy and wait for him to attack you, then dodge to activate witch time. While in witch time I recommend going for the bread and butter triangle, circle, triangle wicked weave attack. That kills things pretty fast. You can pull off two of them if you do it fast before witch time wears off. I also recommend using your torture combos on the big guys since they're harder to kill. But other than that, this Alfheim is pretty cake. You shouldn't even get hit at all. I did because I suck balls. But anyway. Just beat it and you'll get your second broken moon pearl. -Broken Witch Heart #1- After you go up the elevator and talk to Rodin (did I mention I love that guy? Raght awn baby, raght awn), look up above. You'll see a balcony. Stand on one of the spots where a potted plant used to be before you broke it, and then double jump + wall jump to reach the balcony and the witch heart on it. If I'm not mistaken that's the first one! Let's move on. -Broken Witch Heart #2- After getting that last heart, go out into the courtyard. This next witch heart piece is in that chest in plain sight to the right. If you missed this one the only explanation I can come up with is that you were severely tanked. Yeah, yeah, I know it's supposed to be a TOMB or some shit. It's a fucking chest to me. -Broken Witch Heart #3- After raping Beloved and going into the next little room where you fight two little guys (verse 6), don't advance. Look up and you'll see two ledges. Get up on the left one to find the third witch heart piece. I'm pretty sure that's the last one in this chapter. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---Chapter II: Vigrid, City of Deja Vu--- -Broken Witch Heart #4- After showing flashback Jeanne how we do it in Cali (Jesus, was she always this easy in normal?), you'll unlock the witch walk skill. Walk up the wall. Go straight up and then look to the left. You'll see a statue there. Break it to reveal the fourth heart piece. Yeah, I know what you're saying. Who could be asshole enough to hide one in such an inconspicuous place? I agree. But you ain't seen the half of it. This one's pretty tame compared to some later ones. Moving on. -Broken Witch Heart #5- When you get to the first big plaza, look to the right. You'll find a chest with an Angel Attack bullet. Near that chest there's a roofed section with one of Antonio's notebooks and two benches. The fifth heart is there. Stuck to the ceiling. Yeah, that's right. Not too difficult to see. -Alfheim 2: Broken Moon Pearl #3- After the part where the train crashes and some Enchants jump you, go back to where said train came from. The gate will be destroyed and you'll find the next Alfheim here. Hokay. This second one isn't too tough either. Though you still have to be a little careful because you don't have any weapons other than Scarborough Fair at this point. But it's no big deal. The game challenges you to beat a Beloved while only using a maximum of 7 punches and 6 kicks. The trick to doing this, of course, is to maximize the damage of each punch and kick. What you want to do is hold the button down to shoot your guns as much as possible with each attack. I recommend doing the triangle, triangle, circle, circle, circle combo since that one has two wicked weaves which also deal nice damage. Stand in front of the enemy and wait for him to swing his axe at you. This is hugely telegraphed so you should have no problem activating witch time. Once you do, start your combo. Then it's just a matter of repeating that until he's dead. As long as you do the combos correctly and drag out each attack by holding down the button, you'll kill him within the required number of hits. For that you win the next pearl piece. That was pretty easy! -Alfheim 3: Broken Witch Heart #6- The next Alfheim so soon? Workin' me to the bone. But no need to pity me. I was bored anyways. From the site of the flaming train, start walking to the next open plaza but don't go in. You'll be beneath an arch. Or maybe it's some kind of bridge. Whatever. Either way, get up there with double jump + wall jump. The next Alfheim is here. Let's go in. I won't lie. This one's pretty easy street. You basically have no handicaps here, you just have to defeat all the enemies before time expires. The time limit isn't even that strict. Just use whatever moves you feel like. The triangle, circle, triangle wicked weave attack is fast and strong. The triangle, triangle, triangle, circle, circle, circle is also strong and can knock several enemies off their feet so use that a lot too. Other than that you just have to make sure you don't get hit three times or it's over. See, easy! This marks the end of the first video over at my blog http://scathingaccuracy.com/article.asp?guide/2009.11.08-S.A._Renegade The stuff from here on is covered in the second video. -Alfheim 4: Broken Moon Pearl #4- After killing the two Beloved during verse 7, instead of advancing backtrack to the beginning of the level. Well, not the BEGINNING since that's sealed off but y'know what I mean. The farthest back you can go. This Alfheim will show up back here. Sneaky little guy. Here you have to kill all the enemies within the time limit while also killing 6 enemies with torture combos. Remember, you have to KILL the enemy with the torture, not just do it. But I think in this one they're all weaklings so they die instantly even if you do the torture while they have full HP. Anyway it's not very hard. I recommend using Scarborough Fair to build your magic since Shuraba does too much damage. Specifically, I recommend doing the triangle, triangle, triangle, circle, circle combo and dragging out the two sweeps at the end by holding down circle. This doesn't do an insane amount of damage since it doesn't have a wicked weave but it builds magic fast. And it knocks enemies off their feet so that's nice too. If you're having trouble getting the required number of tortures try to build magic on the big guys since they take more punishment, and doing the torture once they're low on HP. You really shouldn't have any problems though. For beating this one you get the fourth broken moon pearl. -Broken Moon Pearl #5- This one's sitting inside the chest beside the bridge just before this chapter's boss. You know which one. The one you need to activate super witch time to get across. Yeah that one. I mean the bitch is in plain sight, I'm pretty sure no one even needs to be told where this is. -Broken Witch Heart #7- This next broken heart is sort of sneaky. From that same place where you got the previous pearl, look up to find a balcony. Get up there. What's this, nothing here? Surely they didn't make this balcony for nothing? Look up again. The seventh witch piece thingy is sitting on top of the tree here. Jump up and snatch it! --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---Chapter III: The Burning Ground--- -Alfheim 5: Broken Moon Pearl #6- Now this one's a bit of a cunt. After killing the enemies in verse 1, go up the stairs behind you. It's towards the path you came from during chap II, except now it's blocked by rubble. Anyway, here you'll find a seemingly innocent trash can. Not so fast! Breaking it will cause the next Alfheim to appear over at the same place as heart piece #5. Get inside. For this one you're supposed to stay in the air for 20 seconds. Crow Within would help for this but we don't have it at this point. It doesn't matter though, because the enemies they give us (Dears) basically let us win for free. Seriously it's so fucking easy with these guys. Just keep jumping on them the entire time. They all congregate around you, so it's like they WANT to be jumped on. Remember that every time you jump on an enemy your double jump gets refreshed, so you've kind of got a failsafe in case you miss an enemy. You may also want to use Shuraba and do the aerial move where you hold down triangle. This keeps you hovering in the air for about 5 seconds. Make sure you cancel out of it at 4 seconds though or else you'll fall down. But yeah. What can I say. This Alfheim is pretty cheesecake. -Alfheim 6: Broken Witch Heart #8- This next Alfheim isn't too difficult to find as long as you understand that even though you've been somewhere before, it doesn't matter in this game, stuff can pop up anywhere at any time. It's in the same place as the broken witch heart #7. The balcony above where the bridge USED to be but now there's only lava. Another drop dead easy Alfheim. In this one you need to kill all the angels but you can only hit them with Angel Arms. Well that's easy considering you have an endless supply of them. They all work pretty well but I recommend grabbing the spear near the entrance and using its circle attack that hits all enemies around you. Just keep grabbing spears and using that move over and over until you kill all the weaklings here. After that a Beloved will appear. Since this guy's stronger we're going to switch to using the Bow. So grab that and start firing at him from a distance with circle. It deals great damage and puts you at no risk. You can also dodge his axe swing to activate witch time if you want. Anyway, this Alfheim is so easy you shouldn't even get hit. The only reason I got hit was because I was drunk and dropped the controller at one point. Because I was laughing at how easy it was. But still, you can get hit 3 times before you lose. -Broken Moon Pearl #7- After the part where you fight the two Fairnesses (AKA fire dogs) and you drop down into the flame cavern, as soon as you drop down turn around and walk the other way. At the end of a short passageway you'll find a box with the sixth pearl piece. -Alfheim 7: Broken Moon Pearl #8- This one's hard to miss in my opinion. It's inside the portal to Paradiso. When you go in, just follow the path to the right. Don't worry, you can't even fall! You can just walk on the water! Try it! For this next Alfheim, you're supposed to beat all the enemies but witch time has been disabled. Normally this is a big handicap but frankly the enemies you have to fight here are pussies so it's not such a big deal. I recommend equipping Shuraba and use the triangle, circle, triangle wicked weave combo. This is fairly fast, does good damage, and has great range and homing capabilities which means you don't have to be right next to the enemy to hit them, which can be somewhat risky when you're not in witch time, depending on how skilled you are. Just try to stay away from the heat of the pack and pick away at them with this combo. Like I said, the enemies here are pussies so it's not so difficult. You can get hit up to 5 times too. Pretty lenient if you ask me. For this you win the seventh moon pearl fragment. -Broken Witch Heart #9- This one is almost impossible to miss. Again, inside Paradiso, it's to the right of where the hourglass rests. Come on man, it's all red and shiny! How can you not see it! Are you blind?! If anything it should've been, like, behind the tree. This is way too plain sight. This is where the second video at my dump http://scathingaccuracy.com/article.asp?guide/2009.11.08-S.A._Renegade ends. The shizzle from here on is covered in the third video. -Alfheim 8: Broken Witch Heart #10- After you get the hourglass and haul it back to the catacombs and use it to repair the bridge, instead of crossing said bridge, return all the way back to the cavern you came from. The seventh Alfheim will have popped up here. Yeah, I know! It takes serious willpower to keep yourself from crossing that bridge! Anyway, in this Alfheim the game wants you to kill all the enemies with wicked weaves. That means only wicked weaves will damage them. If you try to use any other move it'll just bounce off and leave you in a bad position. So for this I recommend equipping Shuraba and just relying solely on the triangle, circle, triangle combo. This brings out a wicked weave fast, and has excellent range and homing abilities. What you want to do is get away from the enemies and whiff the first two hits so that only the third (the wicked weave) hits them. It turns out the enemies in this are pretty weak so it's not a particularly difficult Alfheim. You can even try to activate witch time to have an easier time but it's definitely not necessary. Remember that as long as enemies are off screen they won't use their moves until they get on screen. Use that to your advantage. For doing this you win heart piece numba 10! -Broken Witch Heart #11- After climbing the mountain or whatever during the time some mysterious entity is shooting fire at you, right before the part where you have to witch walk, instead of going into the tunnel look to the left to find a chest. It has the eleventh heart piece. -Broken Witch Heart #12- AFTER witch walking out of the catacombs, right when you come out there's a fork in the road. Take the left path to find a chest tucked away back here with the 12th broken umbra heart. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---Chapter V: The Lost Holy Grounds--- -Alfheim 9: Broken Moon Pearl #9- After pissing on Glory and Grace in verse 2, backtrack to the beginning of the chapter. The next Alfheim will have now popped up here. Here you're supposed to beat all the enemies, but you will only be able to damage them during witch time. That means that you will have to dodge first before being able to deal any damage. We've done this before, but this time it's a little bit harder because we have to beat a Glory and a Grace as well as a Fairness. Still, it's not too bad. You get hit a total of 5 fuckin' times before losing, so that's a lot of leeway. I swear you have less HP in the harder modes! Glory and Grace can be pretty problematic if you're new to the game and not used to fighting them. They're very fast and aggresive. I recommend stocking up on your magic with the weakling enemies and then unloading the torture combos on them to make it a little easier. I also recommend killing the fire one first since his weapon lets you kill the other one for free. A good time to try activating witch time is when the fire one is spinning around. Just get close to him and dodge through the flames to activate it. Other than that though, it's all about practice and perseverance. Just get used to their moves to know when to dodge. After beating them you'll fight a lone Fairness. Not too difficult. Remember that his fireballs are way too fast to react to, so you need to anticipate them to dodge. A good way to activate witch time with this guy is to jump towards him to bait him into trying to bite you in the air. But yeah. A decent Alfheim. I think it's alright. For beating it you get your eighth pearl piece. -Broken Witch Heart #13- After pissing on the Harmonies' milkshake during verse 5, check out the chest to the right of the steps leading up to the next area. The next witch heart is here. Another easy plain sight one. -Broken Moon Pearl #10- Go up the previously mentioned stairs, taking care not to get hit by those tornado monster thingies, up to the portal to the Gates of Hell. Fall down to the left to find a chest with the ninth broken moon pearl. This one's also pretty easy to find but at least it's TRYING. Somewhat. Unlike that last one just screaming at you. -Alfheim 10: Broken Witch Heart #14- After you start going up Jormungandr's Staff and kill the pesky Harmonies in verse 7, look back towards the bottom of this shaft. You'll clearly spot the Alfheim back at the bottom where you fought the Ardors. So what are you waiting for! Ok, I'll admit it. This one isn't that easy unless you use Kulshedra. Also remember that we don't have Crow Within at this point. So we'll have to make do without it. Still, the enemies they give you are pussies who want you to jump on them (Dear and Decorations), unlike hard where you have to jump on Harmonies and Fearless. The real problem is that 60 seconds is a lot! You won't be able to just fluke it like the last time when it was only 20 seconds. You'll actually have to use some strategy. Here's what I did: equip Shuraba. We're going to be using the move where you hold down triangle in the air. This lets you hover in place for about 5 seconds which is really nice. So. First you want to jump on the enemies to get some air. Once you're up high, hold down triangle to lock yourself in place with Shuraba. At this point you have 5 seconds before you'll fall down. Don't just sit on your laurels at this point though! Move the camera and search out the big guy. This is the one you want to jump on. The others are too small and therefore unreliable. Right before the 5 seconds or so pass, cancel out of the move with dodge while moving towards the big guy which you should already have in your sights, and jump on him again. Once you jump on him, hold down triangle to hover with Shuraba again. Then look for him again, set him in your sights, etc etc, repeat this process until the 60 seconds are up. Now, remember to make sure that you only jump ONCE on him before activating the Shuraba's hovering move. Do NOT use your double jump. You want to keep your double jump as a failsafe in case you miss the Dear after canceling. Like I said at the beginning though, now that you have Kulshedra you can just use its aerial triangle move to bring enemies to you and win for free. I didn't use it 'cause I forgot I had it at this point but it's hell of easy this way. Anyway that's pretty much it. Just keep practicing until you get it. For completing this Alfheimr you get the 14th witchamajiggle. Starting from here, look at the fourth video. -Alfheim 11: Broken Witch Heart #15- Anyway. After going all the way up Jormungandr's shaft and using the witch time statues to get out, you'll be on top of the rock snake. Instead of going up it, go down all the way to the end to find the next Alfheim. For this Alfheim you'll be fighting Glory and Grace, with the caveat that you can only use 10 punches and with a somewhat strict time limit. The good news is that it's actually pretty easy if you use Shuraba. Just hold down triangle to charge it and release for huge damage. Of course, you need to make sure you don't get hit. A decent way to do this is to wait until you're in witch time to start charging, but even this isn't necessary. You can put some space between them and yourself, charge while waiting for them to clear the gap, and then unleash once they're close. You can ALSO charge, and dodge an attack while still retaining your charge and THEN unleash. It all works. Like I said, not that difficult. Check out my video to see what I mean. -Broken Witch Heart #16- After owning Inspired in verse 11, continue to the portal to the Gates of Hell and go up the tower. Once you get to the top, check out the back part of the tower to find a chest with this broken heart piece. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---Chapter VI: The Gates of Paradise--- -Broken Witch Heart #17- I actually missed this one on my first playthrough! I don't even know how! It's a mystery! Anyway, after the very first battle after breaking down the flimsy gate, just jump up to the ledges up high. The chest on the left side has this next witch heart. You can see the chest plain as day before breaking down the gate, I dunno how you could miss it. Unless you're a retard like me and completely forget it was there after a mere 3 minute battle. -Alfheim 12: Broken Moon Pearl #11- After you go through the spikes, pull the lever and deal with the pussies in verse 3, go back to where you fought the two Inspired. You know. Those snake dudes. This Alfheim will be up there where you originally came from. This Alfheim is similar to the last time you were asked to use a certain number of torture combos except this time the enemies are tougher. Like I said the last time, remember that you need to KILL an enemy with a torture combo for it to count. It's not enough to just do one. Anyway, again, what you want to do here is use Scarborough Fair to build magic since the other weapons do way too much damage. Use the triangle, triangle, triangle, circle, circle combo and drag out the two sweeps at the end by holding down the button to build magic fast and not deal TOO much damage. First of all, what you want to do is meet the torture quota as soon as possible rather than later. First they throw three weakling enemies at you. You want to kill all three of those with tortures since they're so easy. After that they'll throw some manta rays at you. These are a little bit harder to build magic on but not too much. Remember that you can still do the same combo in the air to build magic. Also, try not to get hit. That just kills your magic. Remember, as soon as you see those manta bitches flash blue, that means an attack is coming, so dodge out of the way. You should get two of these with torture attacks and that will meet the torture quota (remember to drop the chainsaw afterwards. It's just a hassle). Once that's done, it's just a matter of killing all the enemies to finish, so switch to a stronger weapon (I like Shuraba) and go to town. Just kill 'em as fast as possible. You know the drill. Grace and Glory and two dogs. Nothing we ain't done before. For beating this you get the next magic pearl piece. -Broken Witch Heart #18- After smoking the first Joy (in the storyline, at least), look behind the portal out of Paradiso to find a chest containing this heart piece. A classic hiding place, and we're so not falling for it. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---Chapter VIII: Route 666--- -Broken Witch Heart #19- What's that you're saying? "This is a bike mission, it couldn't possibly have any witch hearts!" Hehehe... isn't that cute. BUT IT'S WRONG! You bet your ass this bike mission has not one, but two hearts. Yeah, it's hard to explore considering you're going at like 100 mph. If you need to, you can decrease your speed while looking for them. Not that it's necessary if you know where they are. Which I will tell you. Let's see. The first one is during verse 3. During the second part where you see those huge Beloved on the road (remember, the second time, not the first), stick to the right side all the way until you're able to go down a different path (this'll also help you avoid those Beloved completely), you will be able to drive on the gray arch thingy (while defying gravity). This witch heart is on this path. If you manage to drive on the arch you'll get it. -Broken Witch Heart #20- This next one is found in verse 4. Very soon after verse 4 starts, in fact. After going through the first tunnel, again, stick to the right side of the road all the way. And when you see a different path to take on the right, take it. This path has the heart piece. Watch my videos to get a better idea of where these hearts are if you want. After all, that's why I made them! --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---Chapter IX: Paradiso-A Remembrance of Time--- -Broken Witch Heart #21- As soon as you start the level, start advancing as normal past the platforms of light, once you get to the island with grass, you'll find a chest to the left with this heart inside. -Alfheim 13: Broken Moon Pearl #12- After getting that last chest, jump into the courtyard. See that door with the sun symbol on it up those steps? Break it to reveal a tiny room with this Alfheim. If you break the door on the other side of the courtyard you'll find a chest with a piece of Lieutenant Kilgore. Not that records are part of this guide but just an eff why aye. Anyway, get in that Alf. Here the game asks you to beat all enemies but you can only damage them while being out of body. To get out of body just press the square button. You'll leave your body there and be able to fight. But your body is defenseless while you leave it there so you have to protect it. This is one of the tougher Alfheims because of this but if you're playing on Normal the enemies are peace lovin' tree huggin' hippies so it's still pretty easy. I like using lightning Durga in this one since it's fast and very powerful. Just two charge hits from it will kill most of the enemies in this Alfheim. Now, if this were hard mode we'd have a problem since you can take less hits and the enemies are cunts who love to go straight for your defenseless body. But on normal, nah. I mean, MAYBE they'll hit your body if they're really close but for the most part they're not so bad. If you leave your body right at the entrance, remember that after you kill one enemy another one will appear right on top of your body, so you might want to go kill that new enemy first or move the body to another place. But yeah. Even the Ardor isn't very hard and gets raped pretty bad by Durga charge hits as you could see in the video. For this you get the 12th Moon Pearl. How many of these did I make anyway?! -Broken Witch Heart #22- Dude, if you missed this one you could probably make a case for being legally blind in a court of law. After putting together the broken key and using it, advance as normal past the platforms of light. The chest is RIGHT THERE MAN CAN'T YOU SEE IT?! -Alfheim 14: Broken Witch Heart #23- Damn, this Alfheim is hidden like a motherfucker. It blends so well to the background. The Alfheim itself is a joke though. All you have to do is beat a gimp Jeanne? Bahahaha! Now, on hard it's actually interesting since you have to fight two Jeannes at the same time but just one? And with almost no health? Don't make me laugh. Anyway, an easy way to beat her that requires almost no skill is to exploit the fact that she won't attack you if she's off camera. Equip Shuraba and get some distance, try to keep the camera away from her and do the triangle, circle, triangle wicked weave combo. Since you're far away the first two hits will whiff but the wicked weave part will hit her. Just keep doing this for a free win. Yawn. You get the next broken witch heart for beating this joke of an Alfheim. -Broken Moon Pearl #13- This is another joke one. After killing the two kinships (gayest enemies or what?), advance past the broken record piece to the witch walk eye of the needle. Open the chest to the left for this pearl piece. -Broken Witch Heart #24- After destroying Golem, instead of advancing straight into the room that ends the chapter look to the left. There's a chest there with a witch heart. And a bird too, if you haven't gotten it. -Alfheim 15: Broken Witch Heart #25- Again, don't get out of this chapter yet. The killing of the Golem activated this Alfheim. It's way back where you came from. And I mean way, way, WAY back. Past the annoying tornado thingies, past the bouncing Golem balls, past the portal to the Gates of Hell, all the way to where you fought 3 Joys. Geez. Anyway, get inside. Again, you're supposed to beat the enemies while only using 13 punches and kicks. The enemies are a fire dog and a lightning dog. Yes, I am too lazy to look up their names. But anyway, I recommend using Durga. Specifically the fire one. It's a lot slower than the lightning one but deals more damage, which is what you want since you have limited punches. Use the charge hits for big damage with each punch. If you do this you'll easily beat one of them with just punches and leave the other one with about half HP, which you can finish off with kicks. Remember to activate witch time to make things easier, and also look out for when they do their rushing attack that leaves them dizzy after they crash into the wall. This leaves them HELL of vulnerable for a long time, during which you can beat them to death. You win the 25th witch heart for this. Christ. How many of these things are there anyway? --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---Chapter X: Paradiso-A Sea of Stars--- -Broken Moon Pearl #14- After putting together the gears, rotate the island with the pole once. The island you'll have access to now will have a chest with this broken moon pearl and... -Alfheim 16: Broken Witch Heart #26- See above. This thing is in the exact same place as the chest mentioned above. We just killed two birds with one stone. Go inside. Man I swear these things are way too easy street. Oh well. You have to kill all the enemies but the only way to damage them is with wicked weaves. All other types of attacks will bounce off and leave you in a bad position. You know the drill. Equip Shuraba and abuse the triangle, circle, triangle wicked weave combo. Try to get some distance between you and the enemies so that you whiff the first two hits but then the third one (the wicked weave) hits them. This combo works well for this since it's fairly fast, and the wicked weave part is strong, has holy shit range and pretty good homing abilities. So yeah, that's about it. Ain't got much more to say about this one. Gimme a break man! What can I say when this is so easy? You win the 26th heart of witch piece for this. -Broken Moon Pearl #15- After fighting the 3 Kinships, jump on their corpses and up to the platform of light behind them. The chest here has this pearl piece. -Broken Witch Heart #27- Now, from that previously mentioned platform, look to the right. You'll see yet another platform of light in the distance. But it's so far away that you need crow mode to get to it. So fly over there and break the chest to snatch this piece o' heart. -Alfheim 17: Broken Witch Heart #28- After you get to the portal to the Gates of Hell after the spiked floor, backtrack all the way back through the spikes and through the murderous vines across the bridge. The 17th Alfheim has appeared here. This is another one of those Alfheims where the only way to deal damage to the enemies is with Angel Arms. Except Angel Arms are RUINOUS, so we'll be cruising down easy boulevard. First off, grab the spear near the entrance. You'll fight a shitload of dear and decorations. These guys are the weakest of the crop but there's a lot of them so that's why the Spear's circle attack that hits all around you is perfect for 'em. Once they're all dead you'll face Glory and Grace. These are quite a bit stronger so the spear isn't too useful against them. I recommend grabbing the bow. Dodge their attacks to activate witch time and then unload with circle some rapid fire shots at the fire one. Remember that it takes a long time to prep the bow, but once you've fired once you can keep firing at a much faster rate if you keep pressing circle. Once flamey is dead, pick up his weapon. It lets you beat the other one for free. Then after that it's just a Fairness. Meh. Grab the bow again and do the same thing, except it's a little easier since it's only one enemy. See, that wasn't so hard now was it? You win the 28th witch heart after beating this. For the hearts and pearls and Alfheims from here on out, you'll have to look at the sixth video. -Broken Witch Heart #29- Aight, so go back to the portal to Rodin's pad. The wall here is breakable. Once you break it you'll be able to see a platform in the distance. Jump towards it and use panther mode (or crow mode) to reach it. Careful with those statues there, they're alive! And by careful I mean kill them because they're too ugly to live. Anyway, the chest with the next witch heart is here. Also be careful, because if you fail the jump you'll fall down and won't be able to get back up. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---Chapter XII: The Broken Sky--- -Broken Witch Heart #30- As soon as the level starts, check the place behind the chicken wire to your right. There's a chest there with this broken witch heart. Watch out for the wicked weaves! -Broken Witch Heart #31- After falling out of the plane and getting back on with your turbowitch powers, check out back where you came from. One of the catwalks up above as a chest with this witch heart. You'll need crow mode to get to it though. -Alfheim 18: Broken Witch Heart #32- Also after the previously mentioned verse, use crow mode again to return all the way back to the beginning of the level. Once you do, you'll get into a fight with some weaklings. Kill them all and the next Alfheim will appear right on top of you. This is another one of those out of body battles, except now the enemies are on FIRE. So that means you can't touch them outside of witch time or you'll just receive damage. So. First you'll want to dodge and THEN punish. It's still not very hard though since you can take a whopping 5 hits before losing, plus there really aren't very many enemies and the ones that ARE there are total pussies. Again, make sure the enemies don't get too close to your defenseless body or they'll try to hit it. If you see them congregating uncomfortably close to it, just pick it up and quickly take it to the other side of the arena. Oh yeah, the manta rays are an exception to the fire rule. Those guys are not on fire, so you can hit them pretty indiscriminately. But yeah, like I said, this would be a lot harder if it wasn't so short and the enemies weren't so weak. You get yet another witch heart for this Alfheim. -Alfheim 19: Broken Witch Heart #33- This one is hidden in an awesome place. After breaking down the flimsy wall the right of the portal to the Gates of Hell, and after dealing with the weak decorations but before fighting Jeanne, jump into the plane's propeller to the left. Once you do a bunch of angels will appear. The Alfheim is all the way in the back, but the only way to get past the blades is during witch time, so don't kill the angels. Use 'em to activate witch time and get past those blades, then go into the Alfheim! BAHAHAHA! Ok, I take it back. I take it ALL back. THIS Alfheim is the joke of the century. It is so fucking easy it is basically a thing. You fight Golem. The pussiest boss in the history of pussiest bosses. That's it. Oh right, and with the caveat that you can only damage him during witch time, whatever. So that means you can't just rush his core and ignore his slaps as usual, you actually have to dodge them. But no big deal. They're hugely telegraphed. Just stay close to him the entire time so he doesn't turn into a bird, but not TOO close that you get near his core and his hands miss you completely. Leave him a little room to be able to hit you. Once you dodge his slaps just attack him twice with Durga charge hits or whatever you prefer. When he turns into a dragon dodge his bite, or if you don't feel like it, then just get away and wait for him to turn into hands again. Whatever man, I'm still laughing. For beating this "Alfheim", you get the next witch heart piece. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---Chapter XIV: Isla Del Sol--- -Broken Witch Heart #34- Ok now THIS is a dick move. You know the part where some angels try to hijack your missile and the game switches from rail shooter to regular mode while you fight them? Well, to get this witch heart, during this part you need to kill the last enemy with a torture combo. That's right. How are you supposed to know this without a fluke? Fucked if I know. I didn't make the damn game. Remember to keep a magic bar full for the torture. -Broken Witch Heart #35- Same deal as the previous one, except it's the second time angels try to hijack your rocket. From here on out till the end, you'll have to look at the seventh, and final, video. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---Chapter XV: A Tower to Truth--- -Broken Witch Heart #36- Right when you start the chapter, go to the right. Use panther mode to jump over the safety rails and over to the other side past the chasm. The chest here contains the 36th broken witch heart piece. Also, I gotta apologize, the clip I took of this witch heart got corrupted or some shit and it's not included in the videos. If you need to see where this is just look at the next clip, it's in the same place. -Alfheim 20: Broken Witch Heart #37- After punching a hole in the ghetto Temperance during verse... eight I believe it was? Whatever. You know which one I'm talking about. The one you kill with cannons. Go allllll the way back to where you got the previous heart. The one above this entry. The 20th Alfheim is here. Get in. For this Alfheim, you're supposed to kill all the enemies but witch time has been disabled. Oh and the enemies are on FIRE. So, not only can you not physically touch them because you'll just receive damage, but you can't rely on witch time to be ABLE to touch them like the last time the enemies were on fire. So what can we do? Well, equip Shuraba and beat them with nothing but wicked weaves. Specifically the triangle, circle, triangle wicked weave combo. What you want to do first is get some good space between you and the enemies, then whiff the first two hits of the combo but hit them with the third (the wicked weave which has great range, power, and homing abilities). Be careful though and make sure you get enough distance before starting the combo, otherwise you might accidentally hit them with the second hit and take damage. And don't spend TOO much time running away because the time limit is somewhat strict. You want to be hitting those combos as much as possible. The enemies consist of pussies followed by two Glories. You might want to save up your magic during the pussy phase so you can torture one of the Glories to death and have an easier time. It's up to you though. Since it's normal mode it's not like they're THAT much of a threat. For this you obtain witch heart numbah 37. Oh snap, only 3 more to go and we're done! We're almost there. -Broken Witch Heart #38- After dealing with Ghetto Justice and reaching the place with the huge statue, go to the room to the right of the portal to the Gates of Hell and look to the right of the floating platforms to find the chest with this witch heart. 2 more to go and we'll have max health! -Broken Witch Heart #39- After activating the disappearing platforms of doom and witch walking all the way up them to the top part of the level just before the fight with Golem Redux, LOOK AROUND, MAN. See that floating platform out in the middle with a piece of Antonio's notebook and the chest? Yeah. Go into crow mode and fly over there. The chest here has the penultimate witch heart. Only one more to go for max health! -Broken Moon Pearl #16- From there, and by there I mean the platform I just mentioned in the above entry, LOOK AROUND SOME MORE. There's another platform over there with yet another chest. This baby has the final Moon Pearl. Aw jeah, maximum magic baby. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---Chapter E: Requiem--- -Alfheim 21: Broken Witch Heart #40- Yeah I know what you're thinking. You're not even using Bayonetta in this one, who could possibly be asshole enough to put one in here? Welp. Look on the bright side. Once we do this we'll have maximum health. Anyway, once you get to the last stretch as Jeanne, just before reaching the part with Bayonetta, walk up the statue but stop JUST short of activating the cutscene. Now backtrack all the way back to the bottom metal rocket thingy. The final Alfheim will have popped up here. Just search all around the thing. Go inside already! Aight, this is it dogg. The final alfheim and the final heart piece. We doin' this! Now, on hard mode this Alfheim is a CUNT. But on normal it's a complete joke. All you have to do is beat all the enemies using wicked weaves. You know how to deal with these by now. Just equip Shuraba and use its triangle, circle, triangle wicked weave combo. Obviously, first put some space between the enemies and yourself so that you whiff the first two hits and only the third one hits them. Remember that Jeanne is ghetto so she can't activate witch time. Well. That's not really true. She can activate it but only when you use bat within. Which is way harder to time than a regular dodge. But we ain't need it for this, I mean this Alfheim practically beats itself. Nothing in this game is a challenge on normal. Welp. Once you beat this last Alfheim, you will obtain the FINAL, 40th, Broken Witch Heart. MAX HEALTH, what's up. And that's it!
