Play Arcade mode in standard best of 3 and win at least 1 'Perfect' match. This means not getting hit either round and not using 'Continue'. When you accomplish this Akuma will challenge you after the final battle with Seth.

Play Arcade mode with the default settings and Gouken will appear after the battle with Seth if you did not lose a single round, performed 5 Super or Ultra Combo finishes, had 2 Perfect Rounds by not getting hit, and executed 10 First Hits by connecting with the first strike in a round.
Hold the 'All Kick' button as soon as you see 'Now! Fight your Rival!' and you will be matched against your character's second rival. This only works for Cammy, Ryu, Chun-li, Seth, C.Viper, and Guile.
When the indicated amount of matches have been played with a character the corresponding taunt will become available.
Unlock Taunt #2:
Play 1 match with that character.
Unlock Taunt #3:
Play 3 matches with that character.
Unlock Taunt #4:
Play 5 matches with that character.
Unlock Taunt #5:
Play 7 matches with that character.
Unlock Taunt #6:
Play 9 matches with that character.
Unlock Taunt #7:
Play 11 matches with that character.
Unlock Taunt #8:
Play 13 matches with that character.
Unlock Taunt #9:
Play 15 matches with that character.
Unlock Taunt #10:
Play 16 matches with that character.
Complete the following tasks to unlock the corresponding colour (Colors #1 and 2 are available from the start).

Play 2 matches with that character.

Play 4 matches with that character.

Complete Arcade mode with that character.
Unlock Red Title:
Complete Arcade mode under the hardest difficulty with that character.
Unlock Silver Title #1:
Complete 2 different trials with that character.
Unlock Silver Title #2:
Complete 3 different trials with that character.
Unlock Silver Title #3:
Complete 4 different trials with that character.
Unlock Silver Title #4:
Complete 6 different trials with that character.
Unlock Silver Title #5:
Complete 10 different trials with that character.
Unlock Gold Title #1:
Complete 12 different trials with that character.
Unlock Gold Title #2:
Complete 4 different trials with that character.
Unlock Gold Title #3:
Complete 18 different trials with that character.
Unlock Gold Title #4:
Complete 20 different trials with that character.
Unlock Gold Title #5:
Complete 22 different trials with that character.

Unlock Costumes 11 and 12:

Beat Story mode with any character on any difficulty.
