Easy Money
There is an apple tree at the Ruins which is guarded by a sheep. Shoot the sheep and wait for an apple to drop from the tree, then walk towards it so your Skylander eats it. A gem will appear in the tree which is worth 1 or 10 coins. Shoot the tree so the gem falls down. Avoid the sheep afterwards or it will try and ram you.
