The superstar you are using must have the steal finisher ability then you must put your opponent in the proper position to steal the finisher. For example, give cm punk the ability "steal finisher" and then have bret hart on the ground and then go by bret hart's legs and press R1 and triangle at the same time to pull off a finisher steal!
