Question for One Piece: Pirate Warriors

Hello One Piece fans,

I´m new here and I really need your help, because I´m completely lost in this game.

I don't understand how this coins system works.

1.) How I get coins? I open some treasure boxes. Is it the only way?
2.) Most important how can I use the coins, because when I finish level there is option to keep the coins or convert for some "exp."? What this means? When is better to keep and when convert?
3.) What is the difference between Main Pocket and Side Pocket? Which coins belong to this pockets?
4.) What this "star" icon stands for?
5.) When I see the coins they are in some categories: Attack, Defense, Basic, Life, Most, Side Pocket Effect. Every coin has mark of it's own type, but I see most of my coins in every of this categories, so are they for use in every way or only for one specific way? Can I use a coin only one time?
6.) I have read you can use 3 coins for one specific attack. Can you explain to me please?
7.) What you need to do to get rank A after you complete a level?
8.) Can you bring more new items when you play the same level again?
9.) How can you get new (not DLC) costumes?

I´m sorry for so many questions, but I really need your help with this.
Many thanks guys

1.) Getting coins is easy. You obtain coins by completing levels in either the Main Log, Another Log, Online, or Challenges. Finding the coins in chests in the main log is actually Main Log exclusive. Mostly exclusive to Action stages.

2.) You use coins when you're selecting a character or when in one of the logs, just finished a stage and are given the option box to return to the menu, continue to the next stage, change options, or set coins. The coins themselves give your characters a power boost in attack, defense, or health. The experience, or exp, is used to leveling your character up to Lv 50 (max level). You should choose to keep coins that have the most stars and better effects that help boost attacks. The stages of coins go from Copper - Silver - Gold. Copper usually have half a star to a star and a half. Silver has generally two stars to two and a half stars. Gold level is three stars to four stars. Four stars are incredibly rare and, from my experience, only obtained in Zoro's Another Log level seven on Hard difficulty. Online or Offline mode, it doesn't matter which. Online mode is easier, though, since you can play with other strong players.

3.) Main pocket influences what stat gets changed for your character. Side pocket adds onto the boost, but if the coin also has an attack helper, such as 'Boosts the [][][][][] attack' ( Using [] to mean square button), those go to side-pocket. If they're on the main pocket, the ability is negated.

4.) Answered in question two. Stars rate the value of the coin. All coins have various rarity levels and, when converted into experience, vary for how much you obtain.

5.) You can use the coins on any character. They'er only able to be used at one slot per character, so essentially you're able to use a four star Luffy in attack on one character and another, but you can not have the same coin twice on a single character. Some coins do show in multiple categories, for instance, a four star Luffy coin for attack will show in Attack, Most, Basic, and Side Pocket Effect. It will not, however, show in Life or Defense.

6.) From what I understand of this, it sounds like you're asking about the abilities that using specific coins groups together bring out. If you added Usopp, Jabra, and Buggy the Clown together, you'd unlock the ability 'Lying Has it's Uses' (or something related..) which gives you the ability to find coins with more stars in them.

7.) Every 'level' or 'stage' has three different factors needed to give you a rank. Enemies KO'd, Damage Taken, Crew Strikes used/KO's. It adds them all up and gives you a total score, which then ranks you on a scale of C? (never gotten so low) to S (I usually get an S rank..)

8.) I'm assuming by 'bring more new items' you mean use new coins on characters? If so, then yes. You're able to play every level using whatever coin on any character you want in Another Log, Online, or Challenges. Any character can fight in those with any coins attached. It actually helps get you to the 100,000 characters defeated goal for the gold trophy which is so elusive to many people.

9.) Costumes are unlocked for certain characters when you complete the log for the respective character. Luffy unlocks new costumes throughout the Main Log. Zoro unlocks his New World costume when you complete his Another Log. Sanji unlocks his New World costume when his Another Log is completed. Every other character does not have a costume change. The only ones are Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji.
