Question for Gran Turismo 5

What's the secret to cornering good on rally races, because I have a subaru IMPREZA rally car, and every time I do a hard turn, it goes to 10-20mph. For the opponents, they do it with a speed of 50-60mph. So can anyone help me on tips on cornering on rally races please?

Well you need to drift on rally cars to go as fast as possible on dirt or snow....so keep the anti-spin system on and get the traction control off (not sure if these are the specific names cause I have other language in game) and you will see that you will enjoy racing with rally cars with this driving!! If you didnt get it just go check what settings you use on drift mode!

GranTurismo answered:

Whereas on tarmac roads where oversteer or drifting slows you down, on loose surfaces it can help you get quicker corner speeds. If you are using a controller it can be a bit tough to properly drift as you can't modulate your throttle that much, but you have to make do with what you have.

Approach a corner as you normally would (using the out-in-out technique) and use your brakes to purposely unsettle the car into a slide (do NOT use the handbrake to do this; loose surfaces are enough to do the job) then modulate the throttle to both control the slide and keep your corner speed up. Also, steer in the opposite direction to keep the front wheels pointed on the racing line.

When cornering on dirt or snow with rally cars NEVER use your handbrake unless you are a very experienced drifter if you arent then you will literally lose all your grip and smash into the wall I've done it
