Get in a police car, access police computer and do a mission, wether it be most wanted or current crimes.

You can't really be a cop and make money but, you can get into a cop car and access the computer by pressing L1 and choose either most wanted or view current crimes. Also if you want to look and see if your friend has a record then got to police records and put in there name.

JUST GET IN A POLICECAR AND ACCESS THE COPUTER BY PRESSING L1 AND CHOOSE EITHER OST WANTED OR VIEW CURRENT CRIMES

I hear you can go to most wanted memorise the names and search them in the data base instead of killing arrest them but thats only what I herd herd it a hour ago havnt tried yet

There is no way to be a real cop with just the basic game. If you want to be a cop (pc only) install the LCPD FR mod. If you want to see it youtube Btw there is a website

You can be a cop in gta4 actually you have to go into the lcpd building and go to the front desk and push L1 and then you will have a police outfit and you will receive a police car then you can access many different police missions by pressing L1 while in the police car to access the computer.
