How do I do an air assassination? I'm stuck at the renegade

Once you are above your enemy, on a roof or ledge or something, hold R1 and a new menu should come up, then select assassination. Ezio will jump down and perform an air assassination.

You need to be locked onto a target, and just jump/fall of a high enough place and when the prompt to assassinate appears, press the button. Triangle on PS3 and Y on 360.
