These legendary players from the past are unlocked at the 'Main' menu by pressing L1, L2, Square(2), Triangle, Circle, Down. If you have entered the code in correctly the controller will vibrate as confirmation. The players will be available for selection in Exhibition mode although there will be no indication on your profile.

Pick any team and get all 18 year olds. Then go to view roster and you can change all of the attributes. Make them all as high as they go, then your team will be amazing.
