Dark Souls Hints for PlayStation 3
Also on: Xbox 360
To be able to warp between Bonfires in Dark Souls (and even then you can't just warp to any one you want), you need to acquire the Lordvessel. To get this, you first have to ring both Bells of Awakening, before finishing Sen's Fortress and reaching Anor Londo. Defeat the bosses there and the Princess will give you the Lordvessel.
This will then allow you to warp between the bonfires below, once you have discovered and activated them:
Altar of the Gravelord (at the Tomb of the Giants)
Altar of Sunlight (in the Undead Parish)
Anor Londo (the one by the Firekeeper in Brass armor)
Chamber of the Princess (Gwynevere, Anor Londo)
Darkmoon Tomb (at Anor Londo)
Daughter of Chaos (between Queelag's Lair and the Demon Ruins)
Firelink Shrine
Stone Dragon (at the end of Ash Lake)
The Abyss (beneath New Londo)

Below is a list of the rare weapons in Dark Souls, as well as how to come across them in game:
Gargoyle Axe:
Cut off the gargoyle's tail to get the Gargoyle Axe.
Dragonking Great Axe:
For this axe, cut off the Gaping Dragon's tail.
Moonlight Greatsword:
The Moonlight Greatsword requires you to remove Seathe the Scaleless' middle tail.
Dragon Greatsword:
Cut off the tail of the Covenant Leader for Path of the Dragon, the Everlasting Dragon. This won't make him hostile, but you should ensure you actually attack his tail rather than his body.
Drake Sword:
Remove Drake's tail for this sword.
Priscilla's Dagger:
To get Priscilla's Dagger, you have to cut off Priscilla the Crossbreed's tail.

In Dark Souls you are able to see messages from other players scrawled on the floor of the game world. You can also write these yourself. They appear with a different image next to them depending on how other players have rated them.
To rate a message or write one of your own, you need Orange Soapstone. You can buy this from the merchant in Undead Burg. You can use it whenever you like and it will not be consumed. Select 'Use Item' and you will be able to write a message. Select it while standing over another message, and you'll have the option to 'Rate Message'.

Beating the final boss in Dark Souls is actually easier than you might expect. In fact, it is possible to defeat it without taking a single hit. The first thing to consider when taking on the final boss is to parry as much as possible.
You can parry and riposte the boss until he has zero health and without taking any damage. If you are struggling with this, remember that the boss specializes in Fire attacks, so use Flash Sweat to absorb some of this damage and use a Black Knight Shield for additional Fire resistance. Try to attack after every four-hit combo that the boss sends your way.
You can use the arena's pillars to lure the boss to, then run around them to stay out of his reach. This can buy you the time you need to drink an Estus Flask, and just generally helps if you need a breather.

For cutting off boss's tails, you can employ a variety of tactics. For example, using a Claymore gives you the ability to reach the boss with relative ease, while you can also use magic spells, such as Lightning Spear and Fireball.

Note:using these hints is up to you.
First off is quelaag witch of chaos.the best way to attack her is from the side as her bottom half(which is a spider)spews lava.two main attacks you must watch out for are a lunge attack(in which she spews lava at the same time),and when she looks like shes resting back off as she will release a massive amount of energy.be especially careful of her fire whip.(which you can dodge by moving right up to her for the first two strikes and the third, you strafe left or right).now ring the bell so you can enter sens fortress.
This one gave me trouble:great wolf, sif.now, when took him on I didn't know that I was taking on a damn ninjaXD.don't let his size fool you hes bloody fast.great shields are the best for defence here as his attacks are quite fierce.the best place to strike,is either from behind, the side or from underneath.he has four different strikes:1)slash and retreat(close range),2)left,right,down(mid range),3)double spin(mid-long range),4)charge slash(long range).note:you aquire the art of abyss walking.this is the second boss in the darkroot garden.
The iron golem,is very powerful but slow.for best results use the lightning spear you find in sens fortress,I mean think about it(giant piece of iron+electricity=power zapXD)also if you want an easier time of it,defeat the giant on the tower in front of the arena(otherwise he will throw giant sized fire bombs at you and you'll get your arse burnt off)but if you want to tough it out you can find a fire protection ring in sens fortress.back to the battle, watch out for his double-handed downward strike as you cannot defend against it.retreat at times to heal yourself, but don't get too far away or he will use a wind scar(not copyright from a certain anime,as it's a natural phenomenon.)which is a horizontal swing so powerful that it sends a blade of air pressure flying I your direction, and it's pretty accurate.also take note of two hand attacks one will be a fist to the ground, the other is a grabbing attack in which he will pick you up and smash you into the ground.note:you will be able to travel to anor londo from this location, after killing him.
Hope this helps.

Ok...I have beaten a fair few bosses and the kite dragon,so I will give hints about how to beat them.(note:using these hints is up to you)
First is easy"ASYLUM DEMON".you can't kill him right away, first you must find a sword and shield(weapon varies on class).
Next is"TAUROS DEMON"(bull demon).early in the game you will come across some pine resin
That will come in handy for this battle.first off when you get to the pass between the watchtowers climb the ladder(at right of first tower)and kill the two archers at the top, then climb back down walk toward the other tower and embue your sword with lightning(from pine resin).when you see him jump down from the top run back to first tower and climb ladder, now he will be at base of tower.use drop thrust to deal maximum damage, and then the rest is easy.
Now the"BELL GARGOYLES".First you must talk to the man on the bridge near kite dragon and he will give you the white soapstone which will let you summon his phantom, this will come in handy as you cannot beat them both by yourself.now the battle.when you start the fight it will only be one,but halfway through the second one will fly down(be careful as they both breath fire now).attack one of the gargoyles from behind for a chance to claim the axe-tail as a weapon, and after the battle climb the tower to ring the bell.
The "CAPRA DEMON"(goat demon)is very difficult to kill.first you will need magic that rienforces your shield and a divine weapon(astras sraight sword, which can be found at valley of the drakes)to kill him,but he also has to hell hounds backing him up so kill them while avoiding his attacks(double side cleave, double drop chop)he uses dual club swords so care is needed.(you can also summon a phantom for this battle but you need to be human). After this battle you get key to the depths.
The"MOONLIGHT BUTTERFLY"is powerful but easy to kill.first you need arrows or spells to kill her,and perfect timing when dodging her magic attacks.after rolling around avoiding her attacks for awhile she will rest near the flowers on the bridge, she is now within sword range so attack while you have the chance, but don't stay there to long because she will release all the energy that was stored up.(she also heals herself at this time)divine weapons deal normal damage.
"PINWHEEL" is easy to kill(remenisent of the fools idol)embuing your shield is a smart move as it uses powerful magic, but it follows a repeditive cycle.it splits itself into many incarnations, but when a copy appears next to the dancing one the dancer is the real one so focus on that instead of the others.using divine weapons deal more damage as it is a necromancer.(note:you aquire the rite of kindling and mask of the father after battle).
The most powerful boss so far that I have beaten is"THE GAPING DRAGON".extremely powerful,I was punching well above my own weight as I was only level29 and should have been level36.very predictable, hard to get away from and very big.it doesn't matter what kind of weapon or magic you use as you will only deal very light damage.wait for it to rear up and smash into the ground(be out of the way when this happens)and attack it from the side, just repeat this until it is dead.(note:you will get 30,000 souls after killing it)
Now I will give a hint on the kite dragon.walk under bridge and use arrows to attack it's wings
And when it lands on bridge use arrows to attack tail.there is a chance that it will lose it's balance after losing tail and fall into the valley below resulting in it's death.(note:you get 10,000 souls, and drake sword from tail.sword unleashes wind scar.
I am hoping to kill the"YAMATO NO OROCHI"soon, which is the seven headed water dragon at bottom of darkroot basin.but so far I have not gotten close enough to damage it as it fires large torrents of water at you.
Hope this helps.
