I====================I
1. Introduction
I====================I
Before I start saying anything else, I'll say this is the first FAQ I made. So,
it might not be very good. Also I made this FAQ because I haven't seen
any Ina FAQs and I thought of trying to make one. With that said I'll move
on.

This FAQ is about Ina (or Inahime), one of the "earlier" characters in the
series who first appeared in Samurai Warriors: XL. She isn't really the
best character, but she's good enough. She uses a bow as both a ranged
and melee weapon which is pretty unique. Also her home is Kozuke
(Sugoroku), which is a bit far from where Tadakatsu or Ieyasu starts.

2. Version History
I====================I

Version 1.00- 11/10/06
Just finished typing this FAQ and submitted it.

Version 1. 02- 11/16/06
Fix some minor errors, added some missing info (like one of her quotes).

Version 1.03- 11/20/06
Combined the Weapon and Vault sections and fix some more errors.

3. Ina's Biography
I====================I
Ina (or Inahime) was the daughter of the powerful Tadakatsu Honda. Later,
she was adopted by Ieyasu Tokugawa. She was described as an
intelligent and beautiful woman. When Nobunaga Oda seized control of
the land, Nobuyuki Sanada started an opposition against him. Ina,
impressed by this, married him. On the Battle of Sekigahara, she used
her bow and fired shots at Masayuki and Yukimura Sanada from Numata
Castle, and prevented their entry. But, after the war, she asked both her
father and adoptive father to have mercy on the two. She also left her life
of fighting after the war to concentrate on her new family.

4. Unlocking Ina
I====================I
Simply finish both Tadakatsu Honda's and Ieyasu Tokugawa's Story mode.

5. Ina's Moveset
I====================I
Most people know this already. S means normal attack; T means Charge
attack; R1 means special, etc. Anyways, her moveset type is special
which means equal growth on Charge and Normal attacks and growth on
special attacks.

Normal Attacks
---------------------
S- upward swing to the right
SS- then a downward swing to the left
SSS- then another upward swing
SSSS (+SSS)- then she shoots arrows in the direction she's facing
SSSSSSSS- then she crouches and shoots three arrow in different
directions in front of her, and at the same time.

Comments: The start of her normal attacks are just like other characters,
and her arrow attacks are sometimes useful.

Charge Attacks
---------------------
T (+T)- Ina aims her bow and shoots upward. After a moment, the arrows
rain down.
Comments: Not good. The arrows don't deal a great amount of damage
and she'll most likely be hit while she's charging.

ST (+T)- Ina swing her bow upwards again, lauching the enemy into the air,
then she shoots three arrows into the air.
Comments: Not entirely great. You'd most likely be using this on 1-on-1
fights and this was made for it but still not that great.

SST (+T)- Ina shoots an arrow to the ground which makes a small
explosion. She then, move left and right swinging her bow. She ends with
a small spinning jump where her bow spins with her.
Comments: Not bad. This can take out those units attempting to swarm
you or let you get to the enemy's back.

SSST (+T)- Ina spins clockwise and back a bit while swinging her bow a
bit. This ends with her shooting twice. The arrows she shoots seem to
become beams.
Comments: Great. This is her best crowd-clearing attack which you'll need
most of the time.

Special Attacks
----------------------
Special 1- Fire rapid arrows from Ina's bow.
R1+S (+SS)- Ina shoots arrows rapidly. Soon, she'll start firing three arrow
at the same time.
Comments: Compared to the gun users' special, this is better. More
damage, longer range. Officers don't block this often.

Special 2- All attacks made elemental when musou gauge is full.
R1+T (+TT)- Ina charges, then shoots the usual 3 arrows. At the same time,
she gets an aura. With this all attacks become elemental if your Musou bar
is full. This doesn't affect mounted attacks. It will disappear after some
time.
R1+T gives Fire
R1+TT gives Lightning
R1+TTT gives Ice
Comments: Somewhat useful especially Ice and Lightning. They can
greatly help you.

Musou Attack
-------------------
Normal Musou- Ina shoot lots of arrows with a rapid fire rate.
Comments: Quite great. This thing can greatly damage enemy officers.

True Musou- Ina does the same as her Musou but she end with her swings
in SSTT.
Comments: Since the Musou is great, this is better. The extra swings lets
you combo more.

Musou Lv.3- As Ina shoots, she gains some covering fire, some arrows
rain down on nearby enemies.
Comments: Well, if you're concentrating on one enemy while being
swarmed......., but the downside is you probably won't see the officer
you are concentrating on; thus, he could get away.

Mounted Attacks
-----------------------
S- Ina swings her bow to the back.
SS- then swings her bow to the front.
SSS- same as the first one.
SSSS (+SSSS)- Ina shoots arrows at enemies.

ST- Ina swings stronger to the front.
SST- Ina swings stronger to her the back.
SSST- Ina spins her bow a bit.

Horse Musou- Ina's horse charges at the enemy, damaging anything it hits.
If used when in level 3, the level 3 effects are added. Nothing special.

Note: Unlike other characters, all of Ina's mounted attacks are done at her
left, not her right.

Other Attacks
-------------------
Jump Attack- Ina shoots the usual three arrows in air.
Jump Charge- Ina shoots one arrow straight down and she dive straight
down as well.
Running Attack- Ina jumps turning 180 degrees with her bow at her back.
Deadlock Bonus Attack- Ina hits the officers, knocking him/her back, then
Ina shoots four arrows and after a brief pause, a fifth.

6. Ina's Story
I====================I
Ina's story consists of five stage and the usual Dream which way harder
than the other stages. Also I can't remember some names well, so it might
be difficult to know who I'm talking about. The only ones I can remember
well are the important ones.

6.1. Seige of Odawara Castle
W: Ujimasa and Ujinao Hojo are defeated
L: Hideyoshi Toyotomi is defeated
Beat up some soldiers when the stage starts. After a while a siege ramp
will appear. Defend it until it reaches the outer ward. Once it's set up,
charge in and storm the castle. Defeat the general at the outer ward, then,
the pairs of officers behind each gate. If you go south, Kotaro might
open the gate to let the three officers, who you can't reach a while ago,
attack your main camp. If he does, move to defend the camp. After
that, feel free to kill officers in the castle. Before entering the castle,
be sure to visit the southwestern most area. The Hojos will ambush you,
but you'll find the storehouse. Also if you go the the garden (east of the
castle itself), you'll be ambushed by ninjas. Just defeat 100 of them
to get out. Once the map is clear of officers, storm the castle,
deactivating the bomb corridor along the way. Once on the second
floor, Kotaro Fuma finally shows up. Defeat him to continue. Then
defeat Ujimasa and Ujinao Hojo to finish the stage.

6.2. Village Rescue
W: Marauder is defeated
L: All peasant are defeated or one of the main camps are lost
This stage is actually Mountain Bandit Campaign made Japanese.
Anyways, start by taking out the two nearby Raiders. Then, proceed to the
east camp and defeat the two Raiders heading there. Afterwards, defeat
all other Raiders outside the central area. Once that's done, head to the
central garrison and kill the four Raiders there. Then, head for the west
camp and defend it like the east one. Then, clear the map of Raiders. The
Marauder should appear. Approaching him makes Kotaro Fuma appear
after a short while. Defeat him and the Marauder and finish the stage.

6.3. Battle of Kusegawa
W: Sakon Shima is defeated
L: Tadakatsu Honda is defeated OR Kazutada, Kazuhide, Toyouji AND
Tanomo are defeated.
Once it starts, move forward and defeat the two generals at the northwest
area. Afterwards, the Shimazu Army shows up to charge to the north
garrison. Move to intercept them. Once that's done, move to and defeat
officers in the center, assisting your allies. Then, move to the east to defeat
the Otani Army and save an ally. Soon, Ginchiyo and Yoritsugu will head
for the south garrison. Defend it by defeating them. Now, only Sakon,
Musashi and Hideie are left. Defeat them to end the stage.

6.4. Battle of Sekigahara
W: Mitsunari Ishida is defeated
L: Ieyasu Tokugawa is defeated
To start things of, take out officers and defense captains in the center.
Soon, Ieyasu will say something about some other officers wanting to
defect. Once, it appears, defeat Ekei Ankokuji. This will cause the
Mori and Yoshikawa Armies to defect. If by this time the center is
struggling, take out some more officers in the center. Also Ginchiyo might
be making her way to Ieyasu (but in her ways is a Tadakatsu Honda, so
you can leave her for a while), and Hideaki will think if he will defect or not.
If he does, Magobei will be ordered to go fire at him. Clear his path to
Mt. Matsuo of any reserve captains and officers. Once it is safe for him,
head for Lady Tachibana and defeat her as well as some officers trying to
reach Ieyasu. If the center struggled, defeat some soldiers too. After you
defeat all enemy officers except for Sakon, Mitsunari and Musashi, the
Shimazu Army will start to retreat. Prevent it by defeating both Shimazus.
Afterwards, defeat Sakon and also Musashi along the way. Defeating
Sakon opens the gate to Mitsunari, the guy you must defeat to win this
stage.

6.5. Osaka Campaign
W: Yukimura Sanada and Hideyori Toyotomi are defeated
L: Ieyasu Tokugawa is defeated
Once you can move, move forward and defeat the officer in your way to the
Sanada ward. Once inside, defeat the officers inside too. This includes the
one with unique model (Yukimura). If you want, you can assist the Date
Army. But anyways, head for Musashi, taking out the stronghold along the
way, and defeat him. This causes the other gate to open and a cannon to
appear. Defend the cannon until it reaches its destination (Ina's musou is
useful if you're having problems). When it does, the gate behind where
Musashi was will open. Take out the officers in the courtyard, and by the
east and west gate of the castle. Then, storm the castle. Take out both
Onos. Then, head for Hideyori. Yukimura will reappear when you
approach Hideyori. Defeat them both. But these two will say their doubles
when you defeat them and the real ones will appear and east (Hideyori)
and west (Yukimura) of the castle. You also have to defeat them both. I
suggest you head for Hideyori first because he will escape. If he does, this
battle's over. Then, go for Yukimura to finish the stage.

6.6. Dream: Defense of Numata Castle
W: Masayuki and Yukimura Sanada are defeated
L: Numata Castle is taken
Once it starts, move forward and defeat the officer there. Then move to the
east and west of the castle to defeat any oncoming officers. Keep doing
this until you get a message to fight Yukimura. Do so. Masayuki appears
while you're battling his son and head for the castle. Ignore him for now and
defeat Yukimura. Then defeat any other officer in the map. Soon Mitsunari
appears with reinforcements. Eliminate them and any remaining officers.
Take out some strongholds as well. When the Sanadas are left, time to
defeat them. If you're playing this stage just after Osaka, this will be hard.
Yukimura will fight you first and he's tough. If you're having problems, use
Ina's specials. They might help. Anyways, once you defeat him. Head for
Masayuki. Luckily, he's not as tough as his son, but if he still gives
problems, use the special. Defeating him ends the nightmare.

7. Ina's Vault
I====================I

Weapon
------------
As always, the first three weapon can be picked up from boxes and they
have random attributes. The fourth one is unique. The stats are set and
you need to fulfill some requirements in a certain stage.

Long Bow
Base Attack- 19

Bladed Bow
Base Attack- 28

Wind Rider
Base Attack- 36

Coiled Viper
Base Attack- 44
Element: Ice
Attack +17
Defense +33
Jump +16
Musou Charge +36
Attack Range +38

Comment: Despite the annoying requirements (see below), it's not so bad.
Attack and Defense bonuses are good, but the Jump bonus wasted the
attribute slot (it could have been something more useful, like Life). But the
Musou Charge and Range are the best bonus this weapon has. Thanks to
them, you can shoot until the musou bar is full, perform Musou, shoot
again, repeat and this is quite useful in Inf. Castle or when you're having
trouble against an officer.

Getting Coiled Viper
----------------------------
Stage: Seige of Odawara Castle
Task: Defeat all enemy officers except the 2 Hojos on the top floor yourself.

As usual, you must do this in hard mode and in Ina's story after clearing it
once.

The way I did it: Be sure that you don't take any stronghold INSIDE the
castle walls. This will keep you allies busy so they don't quickly kill steal a
general. Start by doing anything you want until the Siege Ramp appears.
Defend it. Then quickly defeat the guys at the outer ward and west gate.
Then, head south and take out the three officers there. Forget the
storehouse for now. Kotaro will then open the gate to your main camp to
let the three attack it. Defeat them. Then, make your way to the north gate.
Defeat the three before the Date Army does. Afterwards, go to and take
out the two officers in the northwest area. This will open the garden, but
ignore it as it will take you time. Make your way around the castle (through
the bomb corridor) to reach the storehouse. Defeat the two guys inside.
Then, make your way around the castle again and attack enter from the
east. Deactivate the bomb corridor, then defeat Kotaro Fuma. A supply
team will show up in the east of the castle walls. Intercept them, pick up the
weapon, defeat Ujimasa and Ujinao Hojo and save to get this weapon.
