Usually, it's the youngsters, but players like Maldini have a long term growth. Sometimes, you can exceed the growth chart, and this is when your player gets awards like MVP/Top Scorer or assister, and such. We'll start with Growth trends... =<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>= -------------------- |[#2] Growth Trends| -------------------- I'll keep it simple. There are 3 types of growth trends, but they vary a bit for each player. (Please bare with the ASCII charts). => (i) Short-Term Players | ____ | / \ | / \ | | \ | / \__ |/ \____________ | |___________________________ This is a early growth type of player. They gain a LOT of experience points so it would be wise to put them as substitutes. Even if they a 6 as their match point, they would still gain a lot of experience, therefore there's no need to actually play them for the whole match. They are, as well the easiest players to train. I'll call them "Short-Term players" (STP). --> Good Examples of players with this kind of chart GK: Cech/Casillas CB: Vanden Borre SB: Clichy SW: [Credits to be given to someone who can supply me with a player] DMF: Barreto CMF: Cesc Fabregas SMF: Kaabi OMF: Diego/Ruud Gullit WF: C.Ronaldo CF: Tevez/Martins =<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>= => (ii) The Norm | ____ | _/ \ | / \___ | / \ | __/ \ |/ \_______ | |___________________________ This is the normal growth speed. It's lies somewhat in the middle, or near the middle. Like STPs, this is quite similar, you gain quite a lot of experience and there is not a need to put the player on the starting Eleven. The best way to exceed the chart is to consistently get 7.0+ for your player score per match, and get as many awards as possible. Another method would be, loaning the player to another club, and retrieve him back later when his stats are usable. These players usually die at around 28 years old. --> Good Examples of players with this kind of chart GK: Buffon CB: Nesta/Hyypia SB: Roberto Carlos. SW: Beckenbauer DMF: [Credits to be given to someone who can supply me with a player] CMF: Vieira SMF: Beckham/Figo OMF: Kaka/Aimar/Ronaldinho WF: [Credits to be given to someone who can supply me with a player] CF: Shevchenko/Ronaldo =<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>= => (iii) Long-Term Players (LTP) | ______ | / \ | _/ \ | _/ \ | ______/ \__ |/ \ | \ |___________________________ Heck, these take FOREVER to train. Of course, it's hard like hell. It takes lots and lots of effort to exceed the actual curve. Anyway, I highly suggest that you actually loan them for a few seasons until they're useful enough for your squad. I had a bad time training Maldini at 17, Well, he got MVP that year, so his curve is now above the actual thing for a 18 year old, which is superb. These players stats can last until 38-40 or so. Even so, they'll most likely leave at around 36, so.. You choose. =P --> Good Examples of players with this kind of chart GK: Cesar Sanchez CB: Stam/Maldini SB: Cafu SW: [Credits to be given to someone who can supply me with a player] DMF: Davids CMF: Zidane SMF: Luis Figo OMF: Nedved/Rai WF: Giggs CF: Weah/Roberto Baggio =<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>= Well, the important thing is: Buy the right players. Players who have great potential are USUALLY at around 700-1000. STPs who have great potential won't even cost up to 700. Well, they don't last long enough, do they? =<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>= => Players with OMG growth curves: Okay, most of this will be either classic players or hidden ones, be prepared. If you don't want to use them, don't even bother with this part. --> Di Stefano (Okay, I have to admit that his curve is insane. it's over the actual graphpaper.) --> Franz Beckenbauer (He is pretty good, as long as he gets played regularly as the starting elevens. I got his over the his normal curve by quite a square.) --> Ruud Gullit (He is a quick growing player. Take a short time to grow and he'll be playing superbly for 7 years. After 30~, his stats will drop VERY rapidly. Check the section on Off-Season training for information on how to slow down this stat decrease.) =<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>= => Stats that never drop. Never will. Yep. There are such stats which will never drop regardless of age. Konami emphasizes the fact that technique of a player will never decrease, as for any sport. Anyway the following stats will NEVER decrease, no matter what age is the player. --> Shoot Technique --> Technique --> Offense --> Defense --> Weaker Foot ability --> Weaker Foot frequency --> Curve --> Stamina =<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>= ------------------------- |[#3] Experience points| ------------------------- Each position increases different stats of a player... if you want an all-rounded player, let him play all different positions. I suppose that it wouldn't work, but it's just a thought! One way to reduce the speed of it happening is: Off Season training. There are 9 different trainings. 5 team trainings and 4 individual ones. They are... => Team --> Right Corner Kick --> Left Corner Kick --> Short Pass --> Attacking --> Snatch the Ball => Individual --> Shooting --> Dribble --> Long Pass --> Freekick They will each boost a different stat for a player regardless of age. This is brilliant for us so we can try and slow down the reduction rate. Of course it has its downsides, one being: Time Consuming. Anyway, it's worth your time... if you're a WE/PES fan. =<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>= Right Corner Kick: -> Header -> Long Pass Accuracy -> Long Pass Speed =<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>= Left Corner Kick: -> Header -> Long Pass Accuracy -> Long Pass Speed =<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>= Short Pass -> Stamina -> Short Pass Accuracy -> Short Pass Speed =<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>= Attacking: -> Offense -> Shoot Technique -> Short pass Accuracy =<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>= Snatch the Ball: -> Defense -> Stamina -> Teamwork =<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>= Shooting: -> Freekick Accuracy -> Curve -> Shot Accuracy =<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>= Dribble: -> Dribble Accuracy -> Dribble Speed =<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>= Long Pass: -> Long Pass Accuracy -> Long Pass Speed =<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>= Freekick: -> Curve -> Freekick Accuracy =<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>= Do what you need to your players, e.g. when Ronaldo's passing starts to fail you, let him practice attacking. =<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>= ------------------------------------- |[#5] Credits + What I would like..| ------------------------------------- Okay. I am glad they chose my FAQ and I am glad that they asked for it. Once again it's my first time doing a solo FAQ, I am really happy to have someone posting it elsewhere. Thanks again. What I would like: Erm, if you've read the WHOLE guide, I would like some players for respective growth charts. I've only played 6 seasons or so, so I have limited knowledge on players. We all buy different people, so hopefully I'll get more into the list. Check Contact Me for my e-mail address. =<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>=<>= --------------------------------- |[#6] Boring Old Copyright Stuff| --------------------------------- This FAQ/Guide belongs ONLY to Mastermind Chaud (MMC) or Martin Lee in Real life.
