Kingdom Hearts II – Summon Information & Leveling Written by MeteoraXV (meteoraxv@hotmail.com) Version: Final --------------------------------------------------------------------------- What does this FAQ contains: --------------------------------------------------------------------------- I wrote this FAQ on 10/06/06 because I was bored at the time and wanted to do something with Kingdom Hearts 2. So I came up with this, as I also noticed that GameFAQs' Kingdom Hearts 2 page doesn't appear to have an in- depth guide on the Summons. Also, I noticed that a lot of people had several questions about leveling the summons. What is the fastest way? Some people probably already know, but this is for those who don't. I stumbled across it the same day I am writing this, so I hope this will atleast help some people who do not know much about summons or are new to the game. I also hope this will provide new information that cannot be found on most other sites. This FAQ may contain spoilers, but not mayor ones. Just very little ones. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Contact Information: --------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you have any questions on the subject of this guide, you can email them to: meteoraxv@hotmail.com Please do not send me spam or other useless questions about my shoe size or whatever, but questions that are related to... the summons. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tabel of contents: --------------------------------------------------------------------------- A. Leveling Your Summons – [lys] --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- A. General Summon Information: [gsi] --------------------------------------------------------------------------- The "Summon" Command allows you to call allies with unique powers to support you in battle. They can also be summoned outside of battle. Your other two party members temporarily leave the battle when an ally is summoned. When an ally is summoned, the Drive Gauge will be consumed at a rate depending on the action of the summon. Each summon has a various commands with various effects. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- B. Who are the Summons? [was] --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Unlike in Kingdom Hearts 1, Kingdom Hearts 2 now has only 4 summons, but they are all very useful in different situations. They are: Chicken Little – The young chicken from the Disney Movie 'Chicken Little'. The intention of putting him in the game was to promote the movie in Japan. Genie – The blue spirit from the magic lamp. He has been released from the lamp by Alladin's third wish, back in Kingdom Hearts 1. He goes into Drive Forms. Stitch – A genetic experiment from the movie Lilo & Stitch. He is a blue alien creature. Peter Pan – The flying boy from Neverland. He also appeared in Kingdom Hearts 1 as a party member. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- C. Where can the Summons be found? [wsf] --------------------------------------------------------------------------- To aquire these summons, you must find these "charms" that are spread out in the game. These aren't to difficult to find: Chicken Little – Baseball Charm – This charm is given to you by Merlin after you defeated Dark Thorn in Beast's Castle, when you jump in 100 Acre Woods, after being summoned to Hollow Bastion, after you got back the book from the Heartless and discover that the pages are once again stolen. Genie – Lamp Charm – This charm is received after beating Blizzard Lord & Volcanic Lord in Agrabah. Stitch – This charm is found in a chest near the Computer Room in Hollow Bastion, after having received the Master Form from King Mickey. Peter Pan – Feather Charm – After you defeated the first form of Grim Reaper in Port Royal, there is a chest near the save point of the area. Open it for the Feather Charm. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- D. Aah... good times. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- E. Leveling Your Summons [lys] --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1 EXP is gained when a Drive Point is consumed during a summoning. Unlike leveling Drive Forms, Summon EXP counts for every summon, meaning that you do not have to level them apart. Max Summon Level is 7. Total EXP needed to gain Summon Level 7 is 250. There is a level cap, which depends on how many summons you have obtained so far. Max Summon Gauge at Level 7 is 9. Each Level your Summons power will increase, as well as the Summon Gauge. But what is the fastest way of leveling your summons without just summoning and waiting for the gauge to consume? This is what I did to bring my Summon Level to 7 in less than... an hour? Half an hour? I don't remember... see for yourself: Go to Olympus Coliseum on the World Map, and land in the Underworld Entrance. Make sure you have a Max Drive Gauge ready; if not, enter a cup by talking to Pain, and quit in the first match. Congrats, you now have a full Drive Gauge. Anyways, go to either Cave of Death: Entrance or Underworld Caverns: Entrance. Summon Chicken Little and go into battle with Heartless. Do not attack them; instead, choose FPS Mode from the Command Menu, which is Chicken Little's Limit Command. Then immediately press Square Button to End the FPS Mode. Keep choosing FPS Mode and keep Ending it until your Drive Gauge is empty. Summon Chicken Little again if you can, otherwise go back to Underworld Entrance to restore your Drive Gauge. Congrats again. Anyways. Rinse and repeat. So what is happening while doing the above? Normally people just summon a random ally and sit on their behind until the Drive Gauge is consumed. I did this too at first, it took forever. However some people think smart, because going into FPS Mode consumes 2 Drive Points, which is 2 EXP to the Summon Level. This is entering FPS Mode and Ending it is a matter of seconds. Because you are near the Underworld Entrance in Olympus Coliseum, you can immediately restore your Drive Gauge without using a Drive Recovery or killing enemies for Drive Orbs. I do not know if this is the best way of leveling your summons, but it was the best way for me. And well, I hope this will help you as well. Good luck with your summons! --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Credits and copyright: --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Square Enix, thanks for making this brilliant game.
