Career is where you can test your street racing skills against computer drivers and earn money for it. You can also mod and tune as many rides as you want, provided you have the cash for it. Multiplayer - Not online unfortunately, but pretty simple concept. You and a friend drive for fun. Driver DNA Lab - A.K.A. Arcade. You can either choose to (A) set up your own events between 1-5 other rivals, (B) set up a showdown with one of the game's 10 custom characters, (C) square off against celebrity cars, (D) battle HIN crews, or (E) if you know the codes, unlock HIN challenges to win pre-tuned rides. The availability of mods vary from car to car. For example, a japanese import (say, a Honda CRX Si-R or a Nissan 350Z) will have 2-3 options in every aspect of the car, modern and classic muscles are pending on which car you have (some are VERY limited), and Euro's have little to no modding availability with the exception of the rims. You can mod the following: Hood Front Bumper Side Skirts Wheels (with this, you can increase or decrease the wheel size) Rear Spoiler/Wing Rear Bumper = DECAL EDITOR = If any of you watch NOPI Tunervision or any other tuner program or have actually been to a Hot Import Nights event, you would see cars with crazy-looking graphics and a set of sponsor decals. This game gives you a chance to do that. This decal editor is hands down the best of any game with 50 layers and a plethora of graphics at your disposal. Basic Decal Packs: Flames Tears Geometry Gradients Numbers Stripes Tribals Misc. Airbrushed Decals: Demon Weapon X (My FAVORITE pack out of all) The Alien Dead Metal Girls! Girls! Girls! Themed Decals: Hot Import Nights The Crazy Swede Juiced Retro Destroy All Humans 2! Frontlines Logos: (Here were those sponsor decals I was talking about earlier.) A-D, 0-9 E-I J-N O-S T-Z = PAINT SHOP = Simply put, there are three kinds of paint in this game: Gloss ($3,000), Metallic ($5,000), Pearlscent ($12,000). = TUNING AND MOD UNLOCKING = All Level 1 mod packages are unlocked from the get-go. They're even pre-installed in the Rookie League (as I said earlier), but to get more power out of your ride, you'll need to go a step further. To do THAT, you'll need to complete challenges. L2 Challenges have you do various things with a certain stipulation, while L3 Challenges give you a handicap against a super car which would normally smoke you even before you reach half the track. These are the following types of challenges you will find when unlocking mods: Speed Challenge Beat Car Challenge Lap Time Challenge Perfect Lap Challenge Drift Endurance More on this momentarily... * - * - * - * T R A C K S A N D R A C E S * - * - * - * = Event TYPES = Circuit Event - A normal Event with varying number of opponents. You and up to 5 others for the podium. Circuit Eliminator - This is just like a normal Event, but after every lap, the driver in last place is eliminated. You don't have to be first at the start of the Event, but you must stay away from the back. Last Man Standing - The only difference from a normal circuit is the fact that if you even scratch a barrier you automatically lose. This is the toughest type of circuit Event for those who are just trigger-happy with their gas pedal. Drift Solo - Only you are in the track, free to practice your skills and evolve your DNA as well. Drfit Obliterator - A circuit-type drift Event where you must score a set amount of points each lap, and get first place. Failure to get the amount of points results in an elimination. Drift King - Drift, just drift. The driver with the most points after the time limit expires wins. You don't have to get first place as long as you have the most drift points. Drift Endurance - TOUGHEST DRIFT TYPE OF ALL. You must score a set amount of points in one continuous drift. Yes, that's right, it means getting 10+ chain drifts in tracks that aren't the easiest. Hit the wall or bank the score early and the challenge ends. If you get the points you need, keep drifting, and if you hit a wall you won't have to start over. = STIPULATIONS = Crew Event - First appears in League 6. Crew Events involves 2 or 3 teams consisting of, again, 2 to 3 Eventrs, the winner being the team that has all Eventrs finish before the other team(s). Endurance Event - A VERY Extended Circuit Event. Hope you like bathroom breaks, because you may have to do this in more than one sitting. Trust me, it gets exhausting in the upper leagues of the game. Extreme Nitrous Event - An Event where an endless tank on N20 is supplied on hand. There is a downside to this: If you hit the wall hard, some of that Nitro will disappear (even though it fills back up eventually). Muscle Car / Super Car Restricted - Only cars with the "Muscle Car" or "Super Car" seal of approval get to enter these types of Events. Prototype Event - A Event that only allows cars with Prototype mods installed, but the catch is that the car must be in the same league as the Event. = TRACKS = United States Tracks: Bayside Hustle (Circuit - It's also where the game begins - HIN Initiation) Continental Drift (Drift) San Francisco Heights (Circuit - First Listed Event in Rookie) San Frantic (Drift - First in the Initiation) Union of Speed (Circuit) United Kingdom Tracks: Battle Royale (Drift) Buckingham Malice (Circuit - About the only circuit track with level ground - No dips, hills or anything) Regal Rampage (Circuit - SHORTEST TRACK IN THE GAME) Riverside Dash (Circuit) South Bank Showdown (Drift) German Tracks: Black Ice (Drift) Frost Bite (Circuit) Ice Ridge (Citcuit) Switch Back, The (Drift) Toboggan Run, The (Circuit) Italian Tracks: Driftus Maximus (Drift) Fallen Emperor, The (Circuit) Gladiator, The (Circuit) Laps of the Gods, The (Drift - Most Complicated Drift track ever) Roman Charge (Circuit) Japanese Tracks: Caged Dragon (Drift - It has that FnF: Tokyo Drift feel to it) Megacity Madness (Drift - The Japanese drifting equivalent of the Regal Rampage) Neon Blast (Circuit - Almost leveled like the Buckingham Malice) Shibuya Showdown (Circuit) Tokyo Rush (Circuit) Australian Tracks (Drift Only): Phantom, The Rocks, The * - * - * T H E U N - O F F I C I A L W A L K T H R O U G H * - * - * Now this is where the Walkthrough officially begins. The game begins with you at Bayside Hustle and in a 1999 Nissan Silvia S15 Spec R (sponsored by Hot Import Nights no doubt). So sit back and relax as you hear the sultry sound of the voice of Ursula. "Welcome to the track. You've gotta take at least third place. Let's go down to the grid and check out some of the competition." And now for some character introductions! "This is Tyrone (Albercete), or the Storm as he likes to call himself. His DNA (will also be covered later) is cooking, so don't get burned... and this is Crystal (Simmons), with crystal cool DNA that will put you on ice. Place a bet with her and break the ice. Go ahead, put your money down." And after you place your bet, (either way you bet, you'll get your first marker of your Driver Bet DNA, though personally the best bet would be $2,000 since Crystal bets low anyway) "Now scope out of the rest of the grid, and when you're good to go, drop the hammer." This first Event is pretty simple, really. This will give you the chance to start evolving your DNA on a high note with all aspects (Overtake, Nitrous, Spooking, Powerslide - definitely Powerslide, and Cornering). Win the Event and earn $10K as a cash prize. As an added bonus, you get to keep your money and Crystal's money from the bet, increasing your bank to $52K. "You smoked that one. Take your place on the podium and soak it up." Switching gears to the next part of initiation, you go to San Frantic to get a crash course in drifting. Basic stuff really. Just beat the target score to complete the challenge (in this case, 25,000). Overtake, unfortunately, won't be going anywhere so the only thing you can do is just reach the target. Your chaining and points DNA, however, are fair game, as those can be easily evolved, especially Chaining. Beat that and you're ready to go in the Rookie Leauge. = BUILDING FROM SCRATCH (ROOKIE) = INTRODUCING... - Your Driver DNA (Circuit Overtake, Nitrous, Spooking, Powerslide, Cornering, Points, Chaining, and Driver Bets provided you bet in Rookie) and DNA milestones - League Goals - Your first Circuit Eliminator (San Francisco Heights) - Your first Drift King Event (Megacity Madness) - Your first Promotion Event (Circuit Eliminator in Bayside Hustle) A little heads-up on Driver DNA first. This is a feature that tells you exactly how you drive in the game. There are three levels of the DNA: Wild (Aggression), Sane (Zen), or Cool (Precision). Think of it as the yin-yang symbol. Wild and Cool have four phases each, Phase 1 being the lowest (Lukewarm or Dripping Wet) and Phase 4 being the highest (Scorching Blaze or Subzero). You can also earn DNA milestones. For example, if you completed 10 Overtakes, you would get a milestone. The next milestone would come at 20, 50, 100 and so on. As far as phases go, with Circuit Overtake, passing cars with very little risk factor cools your DNA, while nutjob passing heats it up. Conserving your Nitrous will cool the N20 DNA as opposed to using it constantly, resulting in Wild DNA. (Not sure about Spooking yet, e-mail me on that one) Powersliding with precision will cool the DNA, but smashing walls constantly in a powerslide will only heat the DNA, and perfect cornering will cool the DNA, and it heats up if you go through corners crazily. In drifting, you can cool your points DNA in long drifts, or in other words, a LOT of points. Hitting walls can be a crutch, as it is the easiest way to heat the Points DNA, same with chaining (which can be cooled by making constant chains successfully). Overtake in drifting is no different than the Circuit DNA, so the same goes in that department. GOALS In order to progress through the game, you have to win in promotion events, and to go to promotion events, you need to meet several (not all) goals. These goals can range from those in circuits, drifting, gambling, spooking, and miscellaneous goals. You can make more than one goal at an event, as in you can make four of your goals even before you complete half the league's Events. - Place 3rd or above in a US Circuit Event - Place 3rd or above in an Eliminator Event - Complete a Solo Drift Challenge (w/ Bonus Visuals - I forgot to mention that you start with 5 of those) - Place 3rd or above in a Drift King Event - Beat Bobby Sawyer in a European Circuit Event (w/ Bonus Visuals - By "beat", the game means you don't have to win, just be ahead of that Eventr) - Win a $2,500 Driver Bet (With that said, it's probably not a good idea to bet on Crystal Simmons or Keiko Miyama) - Accumulate 50,000 Drift Points - Accumulate 3 seconds of Air Time (easily can be done in SF Heights) - Spook Crystal Simmons - Break the Speed Barrier at 160 MPH - PROMOTION GOAL: Win an Eliminator Event In order to unlock the Promotion event, you'll need to meet 6 of those goals. So after you pick your first car out, you'll receive your pink slip. It shows (besides the obvious owner and vehicle name) the number of owners, value, Events entered, Events won, winnings earn with said car, and money spent on the car. Gaining value is simple, win Events and the value increases. Lose, and the value takes a hit. Simple car economics made easy. :) From this point, you can either take the tuning challenges now or later since they don't make an actual difference until you leave Rookie league. After all, as I said before, ALL Rookie League cars have pre-installed L1 mods. Personally, I'd say get them out of the way first so you can use those parts for Celebrity and HIN Crew face-offs in the Driver DNA Lab later on. Get ready for your first Event. ROOKIE TUNING CHALLENGES ROOKIE POWER PACKAGE LEVEL 2: LAP TIME CHALLENGE Location: Regal Rampage (UK) Target: :40 Notes: As Ursula says, it's as straight up as can be. Just beat the time limit in one lap. ROOKIE HANDLING PACKAGE LEVEL 2: SPEED CHALLENGE Location: Neon Blast (Japan) Target: 40 MPH Notes: It's not really that tough. Just keep your cornering in mind and you won't have to worry about going below target speed. ROOKIE WEIGHT PACKAGE LEVEL 2: PERFECT LAP CHALLENGE Location: Frost Bite (Germany) Target: 1:25 Notes: This is THE hardest tuning challenge mode in the entire game (next to Drift Endurance). Since, however, this is ice you're dealing with, best get a FWD car, but don't forget, you will need a RWD car for the drift events. ROOKIE POWER PACKAGE LEVEL 3: BEAT CAR CHALLENGE Location: Ice Ridge (Germany) Versus: 2001 BMW M3 E46 Handicap: 27 Notes: Not that tough, but you'll be racing against Driver X (who has ALL cool DNA) so don't expect a pushover in later Beat Car Challenges. Enjoy bullying a League 4 car, because from here on out, the guy uses super cars, ALL of which are tuned to HIN Elite standards. ROOKIE HANDLING PACKAGE LEVEL 3: BEAT CAR CHALLENGE Location: Frost Bite AGAIN (Germany) Versus: 2007 Melling Hellcat Handicap: 25 Notes: Same procedure, same country, different car, AND it's powered to HIN Elite standards. Still too easy to beat beecause of the high handicap. ROOKIE WEIGHT PACKAGE LEVEL 3: BEAT CAR CHALLENGE Location: San Francisco Heights (USA) Versus: 2008 Chevrolet Corvette Z51 (How appropriate. XD) Handicap: 14 Notes: Don't expect much out of this one. Only if you get nailed by the wall while flying will you have any chance of failing this challenge. At the end of all of that, you have unlocked all of the mods for the Rookie League. The costs go as follows... Power Package L2: $8,166 Power Package L3: $8,833 Handling Package L2: $3,666 Handling Package L3: $4,333 Weight Package L2: $6,166 Weight Package L3: $6,833 To sweeten the deal, if you choose a supplier that has a sponsor decal on your ride, you get a 5% discount. You can get a total of 40% off on mods that way. Power Package + Handling / 40 = More money for you (but then there's the weight package that doesn't provide ANY supplier, not even Sparco). ROOKIE REGULAR EVENTS Event 1 Event Type: Circuit Stipulations: None Location: San Francisco Heights (USA) Laps: 3 (4.2 Miles) Drivers: 6 Prize Money: $5,000 Goal Opportunities: 5 Notes: Your first full-grid Event, plus an in-depth look on another character. "There's no love lost between Leon (Tyrell) and Tyrone. Leon drives just as hard but without the 'tude, so other drivers respect him and the crowds love him." The guy also is a bit of a chatterbox. Pass him, spook him, let him pass you, and he's bound to say something stupid. Enough of that. There's an easy opportunity to achieve the air time goal since most of SF Heights consists of hills and slopes. Spooking Crystal Simmons you'll have to do yourself since you need to get behind her. Event 2 Event Type: Circuit Stipulations: None Location: Union of Speed (USA) Laps: 4 (5.6 Miles) Drivers: 6 Prize Money: $5,300 Goal Opportunities: 5 (1 isn't likely though) Notes: A bit longer Event than the previous, w/ another character introduction much different from the initiation. "Crystal (Simmons) grew up helping her dad wrench cars in a Kansas pig farm, but she ain't no backward country bumpkin when it comes to racing and drifting." Crystal is like a female weaker version of Driver X, but even EASIER to beat, even though she won't give without a fight. The Union of Speed's goal opportunities are just as good as the opportunities over at SF Heights, although the air time goal may be out of the question as this track has less slopes and hills. Event 3 Event Type: Circuit Stipulations: None Location: Buckingham Malice (UK) Laps: 3 (4.2 Miles) Drivers: 6 Prize Money: $5,100 Goal Opportunities: 4 Notes: Prepare to Event in the only ground-level track on the game, and prepare to reinstate your opinions on Tryone. "Look out for Tyrone (Albercete). He's full-on agro. He hails from a fat cat family in Columbia that gives him whatever he wants. Get in his way and he'll try to run you down." This goes double for pinks (coming later), but early in the game, the guy's a wuss. To compromise for the ground-level attribute, Buckingham Malice has tight turns to make it seem like a drift track. Pay attention to the yellow signs before each turn to tell when to make your move. You'll need it here and on Roman Charge. Event 4 Event Type: Circuit Stipulations: None Location: Regal Rampage (UK) Laps: 3 (1.8 Miles) Drivers: 6 Prize Money: $5,000 Goal Opportunities: 4 Notes: Are you ready to run one of the quickest Events on the game on the shortest track on the game? First, get a load of this. "Bobby never turns down a good thing when he sees it AND he knows all the odds. He's got confidence and mad skills. Watch out." That's no joke, and his Gambling DNA also speaks for itself. He's isn't unbeatable though. As for Regal Rampage, it looks somewhat like a Nascar track, the only difference is YOU'RE MAKING RIGHT TURNS INSTEAD (and I hate Nascar)! Plus, one straightaway is a bit slanted. Event 5 Event Type: Circuit Stipulations: None Location: Ice Ridge (Germany) Laps: 3 (6.9 Miles) Drivers: 6 Prize Money: $5,500 Goal Opportunities: 5 Notes: Back on the Ice you go, but the usual first. "The crowd's always down with Keiko (Miyama). She's been driving hot import since her 17th birthday, and all that track time has wired her genius brain to always make the right play." Too bad you can't say the same about her gambling, but she is a good driver. Ice Ridge, however, isn't a good land of opportunity. Since this was already covered in the tuning challenges, I don't think I need to give you a lowdown on this track. May as well bet over $2.5K, beat Bobby Sawyer, or spook Crystal if you haven't done it because you ain't flying off this track. Event 6 Event Type: Circuit Eliminator Stipulations: None Location: San Francisco Heights (USA) Laps: 4 (5.6 Miles) Drivers: 5 Prize Money: $5,300 Goal Opportunities: 5 Notes: Time for your first Circuit Eliminator, but first... "Tara (Johnson) loves the limelight and driving fast cars is her favorite way to get it. It's been her thing ever since she jacked Daddy's Aston in junior high." Wow, hope she didn't get pulled over. All I will say is keep yourself away from last place. Event 7 Event Type: Solo Drift Stipulations: None Target: 30K Points Location: Black Ice (Germany) Laps: 2 (1.2 Miles) Prize Money: $5,000 Goal Opportunities: 2 Notes: A crowd of spectators. You. Your car. A track, and a target score. That's all that matters in Solo Drift. In this mode you obviously need to meet the target score in order to complete the challenge. Strangely enough, however, FWD is the safest in winter conditions. [/sarcasm]By drifting in ice this game is basically advocating dangerous driving[sarcasm]. Also, like in Need for Speed: Underground, if you hit the wall, you lose points. The only difference between the two is that here you don't lose ALL points. It hurts either way as it can heat any drifting DNA. Event 8 Event Type: Solo Drift Stipulations: None Target: 30K Points Location: The Rocks (Australia) Laps: 2 (1.8 Miles) Prize Money: $5,000 Goal Opportunities: 2 Notes: Same as last time, but at least you're out of the ice and into the heat, as in now you have to grab the target score in Australia. Event 9 Event Type: Drift King Stipulations: None Location: Megacity Madness (Japan) Time Limit: 1:00 Drivers: 4 Prize Money: $5,000 Goal Opportunities: 2 Notes: Now it's on. Those Solo Drifts were practice, but now, at Megacity Madness, you have to test your skill against the three ladies of the game (Keiko, Crystal, and Tara)... IN A DRIFT KING EVENT. The object is to simply out-score your opponents, a feat that can only be accomplished in a RWD car and with a further point of view (Camera change) than usual. No mistakes here either, as in, just the slightest rubbing of the barrier can mean winning AND/OR losing a Drift King event. As I said before, Megacity is the drifting equivalent of the Regal Rampage, so it comes as no surprise that you'll end up hitting the same curb about 2-3, maybe 4 times in this Event. PROMOTION EVENT: "VENGEANCE AT BAYSIDE" Event Type: Circuit Eliminator Stipulations: None Location: Bayside Hustle (USA) Laps: 4 (5.6 Miles) Drivers: 5 Prize Money: $50,000 Notes: Back at Bayside already? That seemed short. In any case, your Promotion event will take place at Bayside Hustle, same place where you had the initiation. Only thing is, however, that the event, instead of a traditional Event, will be an Eliminator Event. Plus, since the goal is to win the Event, there's very little margin of error. Enjoyed that? But there's a plethora more to come in this game. Once you enter League 7, you get new Event types, new cars, more chances to evolve your DNA and so on. = THIS AIN'T MINOR LEAGUE (LEAGUE 7) = As the title says, you're not in the minors anymore. Things get a little more tough in League 7 as the bets hike and the prizes get bigger. INTRODUCING... - Circuit Championships (you Event in two of them) - The two UK drift tracks (South Bank and Battle Royale) - Last Man Standing (A Event version of the Perfect Lap Challenge) - Tokyo Circuits - Your First UK Circuit Eliminator - Riverside Dash, the third and final UK circuit - Drift Obliterator (On Battle Royale, one of the two drift tracks also introduced) - The Phantom (the second Australian drift track) - Italy Track Racing (All three tracks, at the very end of the list) - All Wheel Drive (there's only one; care to guess what it is?) GOALS - Complete a Solo Drift Challenge - Win a Circuit Event - Place 3rd or above in a Circuit Championship (w/ Bonus Visuals) - Win a Last Man Standing Event - Win at any Drift Event (w/ Bonus Visuals) - Place 2nd or above in an Eliminator Event - Place 3rd or above on a London Circuit Event - Win a Drift Obliterator Event - Accumulate 100,000 Drift Points - Spook Tara Johnson - Win a Event by at least a 2 second margin (w/ Bonus Visuals) - PROMOTION GOAL: Beat Bobby Sawyer in a Circuit Event You'll need to knock down 7 of those to go to the promotion event. LEAGUE 7 TUNING CHALLENGES L7 POWER PACKAGE LEVEL 2: PERFECT LAP CHALLENGE Location: Neon Blast (Japan) Target: :57 Notes: Don't fret. You'll do a regular Event on Neon Blast at some point in this game. For now, try not to splash the walls on this Event. Best done with a Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R. L7 HANDLING PACKAGE LEVEL 2: SPEED CHALLENGE Location: Ice Ridge (Germany) Target: 39 MPH Notes: Yep, ice again. I'm just hoping at this point, my IS doesn't slide toward the barrier. *gulp* L7 WEIGHT PACKAGE LEVEL 2: LAP TIME CHALLENGE Location: San Francisco Heights (USA) Target: :55 Notes: Nothing to write here. Do what you did in the SF Heights circuit Event in the Rookie League. L7 POWER PACKAGE LEVEL 3: BEAT CAR CHALLENGE Location: The Toboggan Run (Germany) Versus: 2007 Melling Hellcat Handicap: 27 Notes: Ice AGAIN, Hellcat AGAIN, long handicap AGAIN. Recycled challenge. L7 HANDLING PACKAGE LEVEL 3: BEAT CAR CHALLENGE Location: Regal RAmpage (UK) Versus: 2006 Dodge SRT-10 Viper Handicap: 7 Notes: Gets interesting now. Only 7 seconds of handicap at your disposal. Plus, the Viper catches up pretty quickly. Hit a wall and you can possibly be toast. L7 WEIGHT PACKAGE LEVEL 3: BEAT CAR CHALLENGE Location: The Gladiator Versus: 2001 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Handicap: 7 Notes: Gets better, doesn't it? Another League, another car. Pick one out OR upgrade one of your Rookie cars to League 7 status. BEWARE: You don't get the luxury of pre-installed cars with cars League 7 & up, so think about this wisely. LEAGUE 7 REGULAR EVENTS Event 11 Event Type: Circuit Championship Stipulations: None Locations: Union of Speed (USA), Roman Charge (Italy), Tokyo Rush (Japan) Laps: 3 Each Drivers: 6 Prize Money: $35,000 Goal Opportunities: 4 Notes: Since Union of Speed is already covered, I'll start with Roman Charge. This track is one of the most technical tracks in the game if not the most technical, as there are almost NO 5-second straights on the course. My suggestion would be to get a FWD car to ease some of the pressure. As for Tokyo Rush, there are two paths you can take. The left path has a straight before the tight turn, and the right has a tight turn before the straight. My advice, take the left. Event 12 Event Type: Solo Drift Stipulations: None Target: 50K Points Location: South Bank Showdown (UK) Laps: 2 (1.2 Miles) Prize Money: $5,000 Goal Opportunities: 3 Notes: Who'd have though the UK would have such awesome drift track designs? It beats the crap out of Driftus Maximus (later to come), that's for sure (even though my favorite overall is the Caged Dragon - also coming later). South Bank Showdown consists of turns that are pretty confusing for first- timers, while vets like myself (I reached League 1 before, but I made a new save game specifically for this Walkthrough) will be in our zone. There's a catch to South Bank, though. There's a grey part of the track that you can drive on moments before the starting point. Confusing it for a barrier could throw you off and increase the chance of actually hitting one. Watch out. Event 13 Event Type: Circuit Championship Stipulations: None Locations: Riverside Dash (UK), Shibuya Showdown (Japan), The Gladiator (Italy) Laps: 3 Each Drivers: 6 Prize Money: $35,000 Goal Opportunities: 5 Notes: I'll tell you about these tracks later. Just Event for now. Event 14 Event Type: Last Man Standing Stipulations: None Location: Bayside Hustle (USA) Laps: 5 (7 Miles) Drivers: 6 Prize Money: $11,000 Goal Opportunities: 2 Notes: This is where things are going to change, for better or worse. You are now participating in the toughest circuit type Event in this game. You've had to do Initiations and an Eliminator in Bayside; now you have to be the Last Man Standing. This is basically a Event version of the Perfect Lap Challenge, where even slightly kissing the barrier will get you eliminated. The Event is over when there's only one safe driver OR, if for some reason your opponents have a brain and handle the corners very well, when someone finishes all 5 laps first. Don't think you can just sit there while everyone else hits the wall, for there is a time limit. Fail to meet the time and you're gone. Simple as that. Event 15 Event Type: Last Man Standing Stipulations: None Location: Frost Bite (Germany) Laps: 5 (10.5 Miles) Drivers: 6 Prize Money: $11,000 Goal Opportunities: 2 Notes: Even worse than Bayside's LMS because now IT'S ON ICE! Again, fail to meet the time limit or hit a barrier and you're done. Event 16 Event Type: Circuit Eliminator Stipulations: None Location: Shibuya Showdown (Japan) Laps: 3 (4.8 Miles) Drivers: 4 Prize Money: $7,300 Goal Opportunities: 3 Notes: So after "BS-racing-on-ice Day", next you have three Circuit Eliminator Events on the list. The first is in Shibuya Showdown. I also found it crazy that I went into Shibuya with a Nissan. Go figure. On this track, you have a human version of Vegas (Bobby Sawyer), an egotistical idiot (Leon Tyrell), and a straight up a-hole (Tyrone Albercete). To master Shibuya Showdown, take the shortcut on the right and handle the corners. Racing continues as normal until the fork, to which you should take the left path (the right works, but the left shaves a few seconds). At the last corner, JUST POWERSLIDE. POWERSLIDE GOOD AND HARD. Event 17 Event Type: Circuit Eliminator Stipulations: None Location: San Francisco Heights (USA) Laps: 4 (5.6 Miles) Drivers: 5 Prize Money: $7,400 Goal Opportunities: 3 Notes: You've obviously already done this before... Event 18 Event Type: Circuit Eliminator Stipulations: None Location: Regal Rampage (UK) Laps: 3 (1.8 Miles) Drivers: 4 Prize Money: $7,000 Goal Opportunities: 3 Notes: Landscape's changed. Now you're on the Regal Rampage in a Circuit Eliminator event against a Frenchman (Nicolas Jamet), and two street racing "prodigies" (Keiko Miyama and Ken Tanaka). Event 19 Event Type: Circuit Stipulations: None Location: Buckingham Malice (UK) Laps: 3 (4.2 Miles) Drivers: 6 Prize Money: $7,200 Goal Opportunities: 4 Notes: Holding the peace... Event 20 Event Type: Circuit Stipulations: None Location: Riverside Dash (UK) Laps: 3 (3.9 Miles) Drivers: 6 Prize Money: $7,100 Goal Opportunities: 4 Notes: Meet the Riverside Dash, or as I like to call it, the milkshake track, because looking at it from the Driver DNA Lab, that's exactly what it looks like. The track is straightfoward for the most part, except for the second straight (not the one involving the finish line) which has 3 pillars IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. Hit one of those and it just might cost you. Otherwise, this track is fairly easy. Event 21 Event Type: Drift Obliterator Stipulations: None Min. per Lap: 10K Points Location: Battle Royale (UK) Laps: 4 (2.4 Miles) Prize Money: $7,000 Goal Opportunities: 3 Notes: This is the true place to test your drift diplomacy. Your first Drift Obliterator event will be held at the appropriately-named Battle Royale United Kingdom track, where you have to win the Event and collect points at the same time. It works like this: you must be in first place to win, so that makes the obvious difference between Obliterator and King events. There's a catch, though, as there is a minimum per lap you must reach to continue in the Event (for this Event, it's 10K). Don't make it by the time you cross the line and you're done for the remainder for the Event. Event 22 Event Type: Solo Drift Stipulations: None Target: 50K Points Location: The Phantom (Australia) Laps: 3 (3.3 Miles) Prize Money: $5,000 Goal Opportunities: 3 Notes: Ah, the Phantom. This follows the Laps of the Gods as the most complicated track in the game. There's so many twists and turns that you'll probably end up dizzy before you actually finish. Event 23 Event Type: Drift King Stipulations: None Location: The Rocks (Australia) Time Limit: 1:40 Prize Money: $7,000 Goal Opportunities: 2 Notes: Already discussed this one. Event 24 Event Type: Circuit Stipulations: None Location: The Gladiator (Italy) Laps: 3 (3.3 Miles) Drivers: 6 Prize Money: $7,000 Goal Opportunities: 3 Notes: The Gladiator is the first of the three tracks in Italy. It's very straight-up for the most part. Only two things I would advise is that you don't take the shortcut at the beginning and use the one near the end only if absolutely necessary. Event 25 Event Type: Circuit Stipulations: None Location: Roman Charge (Italy) Laps: 3 (3.9 Miles) Drivers: 6 Prize Money: $7,100 Goal Opportunities: 3 Notes: Covered... Event 26 Event Type: Circuit Stipulations: None Location: The Fallen Emperor (Italy) Laps: 3 (4.8 Miles) Drivers: 6 Prize Money: $7,300 Goal Opportunities: 3 Notes: The Fallen Emperor, the last of the Italy circuits, is straight in between its sister tracks. The Gladiator and Roman Charge. It starts (and ends) on a straightaway. There's a HUGE U-turn at the beginning, so brake as early as you can so you don't end up like the others that smash the barrier. After two easy rights, you come by a zig-zag path, followed by another U-turn. I suggest you conserve your N20 until AFTER you leave the zig-zags. PROMOTION EVENT: "RIVERSIDE RAVAGE" Event Type: Circuit Stipulations: None Location: Riverside Dash (UK) Laps: 3 (3.9 Miles) Drivers: 6 Prize Money: $70,000 Notes: Just win. I can't give anymore info on Riverside than the first time you Eventd it. = PINK SKIES ABROAD (LEAGUE 6) = Another bet hike and a new prize is involved. Care to guess what it is? INTRODUCING... - Circuit Tournaments - Endurance Events (They're small at first, but trust me, it will get a lot worse before it gets ANY better) - Crew Events - Pink Slip Circuit Events - Pink Slip Drift King Events - Drift Endurances GOALS - Win a Circuit Event - Win a Drift King Event - Complete a Solo Drift Challenge - Place 3rd or above in an Endurance Event - Win a Crew Event - Win a Pink Slip Circuit Showdown - Win a Pink Slip Drift Showdown - Place 2nd or above in a Circuit Championship - Reach the final in a Curcuit Tournament - Score 100K in a Drift Endurance - Beat Keiko Miyama in a Drift Obliterator Event - Win a $10K Driver Bet against Leon Tyrrell - Spook Tyrone Albercete - Spook Leon Tyrrell - Spook Bobby Sawyer 10 of those goals will take you to the promotion event. LEAGUE 6 TUNING CHALLENGES L6 POWER PACKAGE LEVEL 2: SPEED CHALLENGE Location: Neon Blast (Japan) Target: 49 MPH Notes: No different from the PL Challenge from League 7... L6 HANDLING PACKAGE LEVEL 2: DRIFT ENDURANCE Location: Black Ice (Germany) Target: 350K Points Notes: Slide time! I'll tell you about Drift Endurance later... L6 WEIGHT PACKAGE LEVEL 2: LAP TIME CHALLENGE Location: Bayside Hustle (USA) Target: :53 Notes: Nothing to write here. L6 POWER PACKAGE LEVEL 3: BEAT CAR CHALLENGE Location: Bayside Hustle (USA) Versus: 2004 TVR Sagaris Handicap: 11 Notes: Crashing will actually cause you a loss here. DIVERSITY FTW! L6 HANDLING PACKAGE LEVEL 3: BEAT CAR CHALLENGE Location: Shibuya Showdown (Japan) Versus: 2009 Ascari KZ1 Handicap: 13 Notes: Tougher... XD L6 WEIGHT PACKAGE LEVEL 3: BEAT CAR CHALLENGE Location: Tokyo Rush (Japan) Versus: 1996 Dodge Viper GTS Handicap: 12 Notes: Trust me when I say, "The straights AREN'T your friend." Power Package L1: $11,000 Power Package L2: $11,666 Power Package L3: $12,333 Handling Package L1: $7,000 Handling Package L2: $7,666 Handling Package L3: $8,333 Weight Package L1: $9,000 Weight Package L2: $9,666 Weight Package L3: $10,333 LEAGUE 6 REGULAR EVENTS Event 28 Event Type: Circuit Championship Stipulations: None Locations: Roman Charge (Italy), Riverside Dash (UK), Bayside Hustle (USA), The Toboggan Run (Germany) Laps: 2 Each Drivers: 6 Prize Money: $80,000 Goal Opportunities: 3 Notes: Shouldn't be that hard. After all, it's only 4 tracks, right? Event 29 Event Type: Circuit Tournament Stipulations: None Locations: San Francisco Heights, Bayside Hustle, Union of Speed (USA) Laps: 3 Each Drivers: Tyrone Albercete (First), Ken Tanaka (Second), Keiko Miyama (Final) Prize Money: $50,000 Goal Opportunities: 2 Notes: Not to be confused with Circuit Championships. In Tournaments, 4 pairs of drivers start out and racing continues until one triumphs in the final (which will most likely between you and Keiko). Event 30 Event Type: Circuit Stipulations: Endurance Locations: The Fallen Emperor (Italy) Laps: 9 (14.4 Miles) Drivers: 6 Prize Money: $23,000 Goal Opportunities: 5 Motes: Can you honestly spare the burden of having to do The Fallen Emperor for triple of what you did before? Good for you, because I can't. Event 31 Event Type: Circuit Stipulations: Endurance Locations: Shibuya Showdown (Japan) Laps: 9 (14.4 Miles) Drivers: 5 Prize Money: $23,000 Goal Opportunities: 5 Notes: Doing the same thing in Japan, only there's 4 opponents. Event 32 Event Type: Circuit Stipulations: Endurance Locations: Union of Speed (USA) Laps: 10 (14 Miles) Drivers: 6 Prize Money: $23,000 Goal Opportunities: 5 Notes: Throw in an extra lap and see if you can survive that! Before I go to the next Event, let me give you a lowdown on potential crew members. Jason Quinn - Guy's trigger happy in circuits, but it seems like the opposite in drift racing. Cost to hire him is $26K. Tamara Alvis - Is this woman Crystal's sister? Her DNA is almost similar. It takes $27.5K to hire her. Joe Five-O - For $30K, you can have the benefit of a nutjob policeman in circuits and a mad drifter in your crew! Melissa Stone - A mixed bag of traits, this girl is. Going rate is $35K. Marcus Jackson - $40K will give your crew Marcus Jackson, a man who has as much agro as Tyrone. Eduardo Perez - For $50K, you can get Eduardo Perez, also a mixed bag of traits. Taro Yoshida - The last of the three custom Japanese characters is ready to drive for you. All it takes is $75K Karl Zeigler - A famous man who does his work in the streets. He costs a pretty dollar, though, 80K of those in fact. Scott Mitchell - This is a guy who knows the track like the back of his hand. His services are available for $100K Rachel WIlliams - You want her, she's all yours, my friends, as long as you have enough money ($150K). Driver X - The ultimate driver in the game. His DNA is literally Subzero and can destroy anyone in a matter of seconds. It'll cost you 1 Million to hire. Event 33 Event Type: Circuit Stipulations: Crew Racing Locations: Tokyo Rush (Japan) Laps: 4 (6.8 Miles) Drivers: 6 (3 teams of 2) Prize Money: $32,000 Goal Opportunities: 1 (Yep, ONLY one) Notes: After picking one of the above members, we take you to Tokyo for your first crew Event. Tokyo Rush is already covered, but you can control your crew members with the D-Pad using three commands, Push (your members floor it and keep flooring it until they cross the line), Hold (I'm assuming this means to hold their current position), and Group (make sure you keep watch over 'em). Event 34 Event Type: Circuit Stipulations: Crew Racing Locations: Riverside Dash (UK) Laps: 4 (5.2 Miles) Drivers: 6 (3 teams of 2) Prize Money: $15,000 Goal Opportunities: 1 Notes: Back at Riverside Dash with another Crew Event, for less money (ripoff). But this time, avoiding the three pillars are crucial to success. Event 35 Event Type: Pink Slip Circuit Stipulations: None Locations: Tokyo Rush (Japan) Laps: 2 (3.4 Miles) Drivers: Tyrone Albercete, Bobby Sawyer, and Ken Tanaka Prize: 1 Pink Slip per Event Goal Opportunities: 4 Notes: Prepare to bow down to the ultimate prize, a pink slip. Once the challenge is made, it's all or nothing as the winner takes all and loser goes home in a taxi. This is where those Tuning packages come in handy. Event 36 Event Type: Pink Slip Circuit Stipulations: None Location: Buckingham Malice (UK) Laps: 3 (4.2 Miles) Drivers: Tara Johnson, Nicolas Jamet, and Crystal Simmons Prize: 1 Pink Slip per Event Goal Opportunities: 2 Notes: Same as on Tokyo Rush (PS: Go for Crystal first - if she has a car you want - she's the easiest to beat in head-to-head)... Event 37 Event Type: Pink Slip Drift King Stipulations: None Location: South Bank Showdown (UK) Time: 1:00 Drivers: Leon Tyrrell and Keiko Miyama Prize: 1 Pink Slip per Event Goal Opportunities: 2 Notes: The track lives up to its name. XD I digress. Now you must defend your pink slip in drift Events, and this one is the hardest one to defend it in. Probably because in-head-to-head, your opponent has little distractions. Event 38 Event Type: Drift King Stipulations: None Location: The Phantom (Australia) Time Limit: 1:20 Prize Money: $10,000 Goal Opportunities: Again, only ONE Notes: Similar to the League 7 event on The Phantom, only now it's a Drift King event. Event 39 Event Type: Drift Endurance Stipulatons: None Target: 100K Points Location: Megacity Madness (Japan) Prize Money: $10,000 Goal Opportunities: 1 Notes: Ah, yes, Drift Endurance. Not as bad a Circuit Endurnace, but still a pain in the butt. Here you have to reach your target score without smacking a wall OR stopping. Even if you reach the score, the sky's the limit, so try for more. Event 40 Event Type: Circuit Stipulations: None Location: Union of Speed (USA) Laps: 4 (5.6 Miles) Drivers: 6 Prize Money: $10,000 Goal Opportunities: Uno... that's it. Event 41 Event Type: Circuit Stipulations: None Locations: Tokyo Rush (Japan) Laps: 4 (6.8 Miles) Drivers: 6 Prize Money: $11,000 Goal Opportunities: 2 Notes: Can you try this on your own? Event 42 Event Type: Circuit Stipulations: None Location: Ice Ridge (Germany) Laps: 3 (6.9 Miles) Drivers: 6 Prize Money: $11,000 Goal Opportunities: 4 Notes: Icey, ricey, cajun spicy! :) Event 43 Event Type: Drift Obliterator Stipulations: None Min. per Lap: 10K Points Location: The Switch Back (Germany) Laps: 5 (5.5 Miles) Prize Money: $10,000 Goal Opportunities: 1 Notes: Not out of ice yet, but at least it's less boring with this one as you go for a night of sliding on The Switch Back, Germany's best overall track and the game's second-most complicated track (at least for me). The rules here are no different than Battle Royale's, so have fun. Oh, and whoop Keiko when you have the chance, okay? Event 44 Event Type: Drift Obliterator Stipulations: None Min. per Lap: 10K Points Location: Caged Dragon (Japan) Laps: 3 (0.9 Miles) Prize Money: $10,000 Goal Opportunities: 1 Notes: Happy days are here again, the skies above are clear again!!! XD Now in Japan's Fnf-inspired Caged Dragon, are you, and beat Keiko again, you must. Event 45 Event Type: Drift Obliterator Stipulations: None Min. per Lap: 10K Points Location: South Bank Showdown (UK) Laps: 3 (1.2 Miles) Prize Money: $10,000 Goal Opportunities: 1 Notes: Beat Keiko again. Simple as that. Event 46 Event Type: Solo Drift Stipulations: None Target: 80K Points Location: San Frantic (USA) Laps: 2 (1.6 Miles) Prize Money: $10,000 Goal Opportunities: 1 Notes: Since I never covered this track, I may as well. San Frantic is (kinda) like USA's Caged Dragon, only without the whole FnF feeling. For the most part you're just drifting on one side of your ride, only near the end of the track will you actually SWITCH SIDES. PROMOTION EVENT: "ROCK-IT RIDE" Event Type: Drift Obliterator Stipulations: None Min. per Lap: 10K Points Location: The Rocks (Australia) Laps: 4 (3.6 Miles) Prize Money: $100,000 Notes: Your L6 Promotion Event now takes place on The Rocks in a Drift Obliterator event. Just win and get yourself to League 5. = MADE TO PROTOTYPE (LEAGUE 5) = Another bet hike, but with better cars! A Prototype car is that which holds the top upgrades for said car. As mentioned before, they grant you access to Proto / XN20 Events with excess performance the others cannot provide. Unlocking those parts are the same with vinyls; you need prototype points to unlock and install them. A way this can be determined is that if you have a 1999 Eclipse GSX and you want Prototype parts, check the Max League for that car (in the Eclipse's case, 5). This will state which parts the car can have and also how far the car can go. LEAGUE 5 REGULAR EVENTS Event 48 Event Type: Drift King Tournament Stipulations: None Location: The Phantom (Australia), Driftus Maximus (Italy), The Switch Back (Germany) Time Limit: 1:20 (First), 1:10 (Second), 1:50 (Final) Prize Money: $60,000 Goal Opportunities: 2 Notes: Your first of three tournaments. It's also a good chance to bet on Tara Johnson seeing as you face her first. Event 49 Event Type: Drift Obliterator Stipulations: None Min. per Lap: 10K Points (Ice, Dragon), 15K (Rocks) Location: Black Ice (Germany), The Rocks (Australia), Caged Dragon (Japan) Laps: 4 Each Prize Money: $60,000 Goal Opportunities: 1 Notes: Second of three tourneys... Event 50 Event Type: Circuit Tournament Stipulations: None Locations: The Gladiator (Italy), Ice Ridge (Germany), Shibuya Showdown (Japan) Laps: 3 Each Prize Money: $60,000 Goal Opportunities: 5 Motes: Final tourney of the league. Safe to say that you have goals knocking at your door, starting in the first round. Event 51 Event Type: Circuit Eliminator Stipulations: Extreme N20 Location: The Gladiator (Italy) Laps: 4 (4.4 Miles) Drivers: 5 Prize Money: $24,000 Goal Opportunities: 7 Notes: It's as interesting as it gets with EXTREME NITROUS! In Extreme N20 Events, you are supplied with an unlimited tank of nitrous, which can be used to blow past your rivals with ease, not to mention freeze your N20 DNA. There IS a catch, though: Hit a wall, and the tank loses pressure. Event 52 Event Type: Drift Endurance Stipulations: None Target: 500K Points Location: San Frantic (USA) Prize Money: $12,000 Goal Opportunities: 1 Notes: Nothing here, but it's best done with a Nissan Silvia [S15]. Event 53 Event Type: Drift Obliterator Stipulations: Prototype Min. per Lap: 15K Points Location: South Bank Showdown (UK) Laps: 4 (1.6 Miles) Prize Money: $10,000 Goal Opportunities: 1 Notes: Back at South Bank for another Obliterator, this time with Prototype Cars. Event 54 Event Type: Last Man Standing Championship Stipulations: None Location: Bayside Hustle (USA), Frost Bite (Germany), SF Heights (USA) Laps: 5 Each Drivers: 6 Prize Money: $130,000 Goal Opportunities: 5 Notes: Be the Last Man Standing for big (and I mean, BIG) money! Event 55 Event Type: Pink Slip Circuit Stipulations: Endurance Location: SF Heights (USA) Laps: 10 (14 Miles) Drivers: Tara Johnson, Crystal Simmons, Keiko Miyama, Leon Tyrrell, and Ken Tanaka Prize: 1 Pink Slip per Event Goal Opportunities: 2 Notes: This track at this point is a literal blowtorch, mainly because it will melt ALL of your cool DNA. Do this event in moderation. Event 56 Event Type: Circuit Stipulations: Endurance, Crew Racing Location: Frost Bite (Germany) Laps: 7 (14.7 Miles) Drivers: 6 (3 teams of 2) Prize Money: $33,000 Goal Opportunities: 1 Notes: One... Event 57 Event Type: Circuit Stipulations: Endurance, Crew Racing Location: Riverside Dash (UK) Laps: 11 (14.7 Miles) Drivers: 6 (3 teams of 2) Prize Money: $33,000 Goal Opportunities: 1 Notes: Two... Event 59 Event Type: Drift King Stipulations: Muscle Car Restricted Location: Caged Dragon (Japan) Time Limit: 1:20 Prize Money: $24,000 Goal Opportunities: 2 Notes: Either get a Camaro Z28 or a '69 Camaro. This race is for muscle cars only, pal. Event 60 Event Type: Drift Endurance Stipulations: None Target: 500K Points Location: Black Ice (Germany) Prize Money: $12,000 Goal Opportunities: 1 Notes: Ice drift, anyone? Plus, you have to reach 500K on ice, too. Event 61 Event Type: Circuit Stipulations: None Location: The Fallen Emperor (Italy) Laps: 3 (4.8 Miles) Drivers: 6 Prize Money: $12,000 Goal Opportunities: 7 Notes: Back to normal at last... Event 62 Event Type: Circuit Stipulations: None Location: The Toboggan Run (Germany) Laps: 3 (7.2 Miles) Drivers: 6 Prize Money: $13,000 Goal Opportunities: 5 Notes: ...or as normal as possible with this game.
