I?m back. This time I?m featuring this basic Walkthrough on Gun. It?s not exactly the best one you?ll find but its good for beginners and learning new and cool stuff. Gun was released early last year and for some reason, didn?t have much hype in is name. After time, I think everyone would come to agree that this is an awesome Western remake. The game is set in modern time and is quite gory and graphical. It is an action packed game which brings challenging levels and a great storyline. If you haven?t bought it yet then I suggest you get off your ass right now and go buy it. THEN, if you need help, come here again. (Hold for further throw) L2 Button- Crouch --------------------------------------------------------------------- ___________________________________________________________________ | | | {W}{E}{A}{P}{O}{N}{S} | |___________________________________________________________________| There are 7 categories of weapons in the game. All different types have their own advantages and disadvantages. As you progress through the game you collect new weapons from people you kill. PISTOLS ------- You should only use these from close or medium range. They cause moderate damage and will take down enemies in 2-3 shots. There firing rate is rather quick and so is their reloading. You should use these for the easy enemies. Their accuracy isn?t great but it should cause many problems because of how fast you can shoot. RIFLES ------ Use these for medium to far ranged kills. There fire rate is just slightly slower than the pistols. They can reload at about the same rate and have a great accuracy level. They cause moderate to slightly high damage. These can easily kill enemies in a single shot but sometimes it will take more. These are also good for sneaky far ranged kills as you can zoom in very close to easily pick out enemies. SHOTGUNS -------- These are always best to use at close range. They are absolutely devastatingly powerful and will do high damage. You can kill an enemy in just 1 shot. There reloading is not bad but could be better. A real downer is their fire rate which is pretty slow so you might encounter some problems. The accuracy is excellent as it shoots many bullets and the aimer is rather big. MELEE ----- Obviously, you need to use these at close range. These kind of weapons vary from knifes to swords etc. The damage from them is also high as you will cut the enemy in one quick chop. Depending on the type you have, the killing time may also vary. It is mostly about 1-3 hits. There firing rate (not really firing but whatever) is greatly quick and there is no reload needed. THROWN ------ These also vary from dynamite to whiskey fire bombs. You should use them at medium range of an enemy so you can just throw them and watch them die. The damage is very high and explosive. The whiskey bomb allows them to burn slowly while the dynamite blows them up and dismembers their body parts. You can throw them one after another at medium rate and obviously, no reload needed. BOWS ---- These are absolutely silent weapons which allow you to secretly take out an enemy without anyone noticing. Especially with the zooming available on it. The fire rate is very high as you can just keep on shooting more and more. There are 3 types of bows which are The normal arrow bow, fire bow and dynamite bow. Each of these are great in their own way and will easily take out enemies. SHARPSHOOTER ------------ These are rare weapons which will do you good. Similar to the rifle in looks and in using it as well. They are best from long range as you can zoom in even more, though their rate of fire is slow. As you progress through the game you meet new people who will become a big part of the story concept. Here are the basic and most important characters: COLTON WHITE ------------ This is the guy you play with, He grew up with his father Ned in the Wild West. His father taught him everything he knows. The story of the game starts with Colton and his father hunting to soon find a steamboat. Next minute, it?s turned into a massacre and Ned has been killed in the Steamboat explosion. His last words to you where Ive been trying to tell you, Im not your father!. Now you destiny through the towns having many encounters with the law, Colton is desperate and on a mission to find out who he really is. JENNY ----- After her mother passed away, Jenny has been taking the role as Hostess of a small club ?The Alhambra?. She has stunning beauty and also has been close to her family. She also has a necessary attitude on here so don?t be underestimating here. She grew up in the town of Dodge city and can also use weapons nicely. She is your first friend that you meet in the game and will journey with you when she hears the connection of your story. HOODOO BROWN ------------ He is the mayor and one strong enforcer of Empire. He runs his town as he wants enforcing the law any way he sees fit. He is a well connected man and has many strong deputies with him. He is yet another of your encounters in the game. HOLLISTER --------- Hollister was said to disappear during the Civil war. The rumour was that even the Generals feared him because of his tactics. You find him again as the commander of Renegade fort in the North. This guy is one mean bad ass who will crush anything in his way. THOMAS MAGRUDER --------------- This is the main guy youre after in the game. He was said to have served for the opposite side in the Civil war. Now he moved out to the west using his strong authority and power to make himself a railroad and mining magnate. He is the leader of the large mine cave which is called ?The Black Train?. This dudes head is filled with some sickening thoughts and it seems that he enjoys hurting people. He is a very intimidating leader who everyone fears. You soon find that he is on a quest of his own and will not let anyone stand in his way. DUTCHIE ------- This is Magruders trusted and worthy associate. Everywhere Magruder goes, Dutchie will be there so be on a lookout. This is one big ass associate who you soon have an unfortunate encounter with. SOAPY ----- You meet him in jail where he is locked up well for being one witty guy. Having escaped many times he has been locked up in a secured room where you must escape and bust him out. FIGHTS AT DAWN -------------- This is a Native American fighter who also served in the war. When you meet him it doesn?t look good but your relationship builds up as you resolve your differences with him and go along the game with him. --------------------------------------------------------------------- ___________________________________________________________________ | | | {F}{I}{R}{I}{N}{G} {Y}{O}{U}{R} | | | | | | {W}{E}{A}{P}{O}{N} | |___________________________________________________________________| You should by now that you can fire your guns using the ?R1? button. Im afraid that that?s not enough. There are two main things you need to learn to do and keep in mind if you plan on surviving in the game. First of all, you should be familiar with the zooming ability on most weapons. Do this by pressing the ?L3? button. You can zoom in to a close distance and easily pick out your enemies. This is perfect for stealth situations. You can zoom with the rifles, sharpshooters and bows. Each of these weapons has their own zooming distance. Secondly, the word Quickdraw, become attached to it. Keep it in your mind whenever playing the game as you will need it. You can enter Quickdraw by pressing the R2 button. This will zoom in on the screen and turn everything in slow motion. Now you can easily take down a bunch of enemies with your pistol. Keep on pressing the ?R1? button to fire numerous bullets around the place. Press the left analogue stick to switch targets. Your Quickdraw will only last a short while (it shows a yellow meter at the bottom). You can increase the time of it by accurate kills like headshots etc. Another helpful trick is to take cover while in a gunfight. You can use the environment around you like building, crates and rocks to take cover. Use the ?L2? button to crouch down. --------------------------------------------------------------------- ___________________________________________________________________ | | | {M}{I}{S}{S}{I}{O}{N} {T}{Y}{P}{E}{S} | |___________________________________________________________________| On top of completing missions for different people there is a variety of side missions you can choose to do at any time. Completing these missions will earn you some money and increase your different skills and ability levels. These missions are: Pony express Deliver the goods between the different towns with your horse in the small amount of time given. Rancher Help the farmers with their animal herd problems. You are mostly just rounding up his animals with your horse to earn money and some horse skills. Bounty hunting You can find the Wanted signs everywhere around the game. Read them and they will tell you who to catch and where they can be found. Some signs will say ?dead? or ?alive? or even both. You must either kill or knock out the criminals to earn your reward. Mining Firstly, you need a pickaxe which you can buy from the people selling goods (found in each town). Now, whenever you find a gold rock region, approach it and press ?Triangle? to mine it. This will earn you a solid $10 each time you mine a piece of gold. Poker Why not gamble a little with your money in the Poker tournaments. You can do these in the clubs and bars in the cities. It is hard to get the drift of the game but yo should get it after a few games. Keep the Peace Help the deputies protect the town with your gun skills. He will tell you who to take out and why. Hunting Visit the Indian once in a while and he will give you game to hunt. Listen to what he says as the animals will not be on the map so you will need to search for them in the areas given. The only way to kill the animals is to sneak up on them and strike their brain with the bow. This is very hard and challenging. Rescue Help the hostages and save the victims from the outlaws. Take out all he enemies you see in defence of the town. --------------------------------------------------------------------- ___________________________________________________________________ | | | {H}{O}{R}{S}{E} {R}{I}{D}{I}{N{G} | |___________________________________________________________________| Without your speedy horse, theres no other way of getting around. Horses can be found everywhere around the game, wether they are wild ones in the lands or owned by the locals they will be accessible to you. Press the Triangle button to mount the horse. Now you can move around just like on foot with the analogue stick, except allot faster and with a sprinting technique. Press and hold the L2 button to gallop fast with your horse. Knocking into someone while sprinting will knock them down and eventually kill them. Your horse itself has a health meter which will deplete if it is shot or if you tire him out by too much sprinting. Press the X button to make the horse jump over obstacles. A good advantage of riding the horse is the attack available. Press the [] (square) button to make the horse buck and stand on his hind legs. He will come crashing down and trample the enemy and easily kill them. Don?t forget that you can also shoot as normal while on your horse. Watch out for bandit attacks while riding in the lands as the bad muggers will jump from nowhere in attempt to kill you and rob you of your possessions. --------------------------------------------------------------------- ___________________________________________________________________ | | | {K}{I}{L}{L}{I}{N}{G} {T}{E}{C}{H}{N}{I}{Q}{U}{E}{S}| | |___________________________________________________________________| There are many alternate ways of killing your enemies. Each one brings excitement and is creative in different ways. Your gun kills may be the most general way but you will come up in different situations where you can finish your enemies differently. Grabbing and Subduing --------------------- When an enemy is off their mark and least expecting it, you can grab them using the ?Triangle? button and use them as a protective shield. While they?re in your arms you will walk much slower. Press the X button whilst you have an opponent in your arms to subdue them (Knock them out), or you can press [] to immediately execute them. Scalping -------- When you shoot enemies, they may fall but will still be alive and dying slowly.
