After the tomb of raithwall, when you get your first esper. you must first get the barheim key to get back into the mine. copy and paste this link. then hold Ctrl+F and type barheim into the blank and search till you find "back to barheim passage". I give all credit to "sephirosuy" as this is the link to his guide. http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/file/final_fantasy_xii_b.txt after you get the barheim key go back into the mines and follow the path till you get to the teleport crystal(orange). save your game. now go down/ south a screen. your camera should be behind you, now follow the bending tracks to the right, with the camera behind you take the left when the tracks split again. Now when your in the next area haul ass untill you pass the admantiose, keep going deeper in untill you see a rock on the right side of the tracks. on the far side of that rock there will be a vase. if there are 2 vases one of them being silver examine it. if its not there leave and re-enter or restart your game from the save. Let it chase you all the way to the entrance that way no other mobs will attack you. Set all your gambits to steal, the deathbringer sword is the only thing you can steal from it, so it may take several tries. If you are low on health exit that area and reheal with MAGICS not the save point. turn right around, go back into the area and it will still be there. You can steal as many as you like, they sell for 16000 a piece. And at level 30 they do about 1300-1400 dmg a hit. plus instantly killing some enemies. Also it would be very nice if somebody put up a small guide on how to get the strongest halberd early as well making this into a small faq on how to get powerful weapons early game. well happy hunting. o and take the right path and steal from some enemies deep inside for some level 10 armors and level 9 magic armors as well. The location is a bit complicated as there is no mini map showing in the map screen. Anyway I will try to guide you guys as simple as I can. 1. Follow the link (Thanks for the great map) and it�s the �T� straight down to the Map 2 word (100% confirmed). 2. It is in the middle of a trap treasure chest. But before that you have to face 3 Shadnir (Horse like monster) One is guarding the trap treasure and two more will join in as soon as you step in the central area. 3. To increase of your chance to get the Excalibur equip your leader with Diamond Armlet. 4. In case you if u didn�t get it on your first try from the treasure chest try back track 3 screen (not 2 screens like the monster to reappear and remember you don�t have to go all the way to the save point which is quite far) and the chest will reappear. 5. Keep getting the chest until you get the Excalibur. Also remember you cannot get more than one Excalibur even you try to reload or restart like the other treasure. 6. You cannot get it on you first visit through story mode and of course you *can* get it before getting *Ultima Esper*. Damage is calculated by characters strength, magick power, attack rating and opponents defense.
