I, obviously, don't own Final Fantasy, or I'd be rich and hardly interested in
writing this FAQ for you. I'd likely be spending money on one thing or
another...like more video games...but alas, this isn't so. Someone else owns
the game, the characters, and all the blah that comes with it. Google the
info if you really care (which you don't, I'm sure.)

This FAQ, however, I ~do~ own. I really don't care where it ends up on the
internet provided I maintain the credit, am notified and this FAQ stays
exactly as I have written it. The info below was aquired during my second play-
through of the game via a guide and was (painstakingly) verified item by item,
by me.

If, however, I do make a mistake, as is bound to happen, use my e-mail above to
notify me and I will correct it as soon as I can.

~ The Bazaar ~

The Bazaar is unique to the Final Fantasy series. As any who have played the
game know, enemies no longer drop absurb amounts of gil; now, they drop loot.
Said loot can be sold to the stores, which is how you aquire the money to
purchase your equipment/spells/whatever. However, as an added incentive,
certain combinations of loot sold are automically turned into other useful
items and equipment. This is incredibly beneficial, as the Bazaar items are
usually much cheaper than their merchant counterparts in addition to being
available much earlier in the game (i.e., being able to purchase the Gold Armor
set from materials before you can buy it from a store). For added
convenience, every single merchant has the Bazaar option, and as such the
Bazaar is directly connected to each and every one. This means that you don't
have to keep track of what loot you sell and who you sell it to; just drop it
off wherever it's convenient and let the merchant NPCs handle the rest.

Below is a list of Bazaar items, sorted Alphabetically (by first letter only,
'cuz I'm lazy), followed by the loot and amount necessary to recieve the item
and the difference in price compared to buying the item from a store. Enjoy.

Note: an Asterisk (*) means this item (or part of it, as is in the case of
ammunition) is NOT available in stores. If you want it, the Bazaar is your
only option.

Format:
Name - Duh.
Loot - Stuff you need to sell for said item to appear.
Gil - Amount to buy. Duh again.
Compare - Difference between what you pay at the bazaar and what you'd pay at
a merchant for the same item.
Package - What's actually contained in the Bazaar item.

~ Grimoires ~

Grimoires become available in the Bazaar after specific conditions, all of
which easily attainable, become filled. Grimoires will make their respective
monster(s) drop better loot and, at times, large amounts of it. They are
expensive, but well-worth the effort to purchase, as they'll turn
money-making into a child's play. Upon purchase of a Grimoire, they take up
space in your inventory (key Items) as a Monograph.

Canopic Jar: After achieving this item, all enemies will begin dropping
Arcana, which normally drop only from Rare Monsters. Arcana can be sold for a
small amount of money, whereafter it later becomes powerful items and equipment
in the Bazaar, some of which can be bought over and over!

F.A.Q.

Q. What is the best way to make money early in the game?
A. Lhusu Mines, without a doubt, is the best way to earn tons of money and LP
within a very short amount of time. You can easily earn 30k+ Gil and 100+ LP
within 20-30 minutes with the following:

1. Enter Lhusu mines and kill everything up until the path splits in 2; take
the right (easy, first path you reach) path down to start building up your
chain of skeletons. From here on in, attack ONLY skeletons.

2. Hold R2 (allows you to flee without possibly attacking the wrong enemy and
ruining the chain) past the Oltam Spam, and held north from the Transitway 1
towards Shunia Twinspan, still holding R2

3. Walk back and forth over the Shunia Twinspan bridge, where anywhere from
15-30 skeletons can spawn at a time, building up that chain and collecting
tons of loot along the way. Let your two AI controlled members kill while you
set your gambit to Nearest Foe = Steal. Once the skeletons stop spawning, head
north to Site 2 and clear the entire area of skeletons. Unless this is the
first time you've visited the mines (where you will fight a boss) or have
taken on the Elite Quest (another boss) there will be nothing around to hurt
your chain.

4. Walk backwards, killing skeletons that have respawned along the way. Hold
R2 through Transitway 1 and Oltam Span so the chain isn't hurt. When you reach
the Shaft Entry, kill only enemies along the south section of the map (which
are all skeletons). Feel free to pick up any treasure in the area that may
have respawned.

5. Rinse, and repeat until you've had enough or are at 90+ Bone Fragments.
Return to town, sell, save, and do it again if you like.

This one run will net you 12k+ just on bones alone, plus Iron Helms the
Skeletons have likely dropped (700g each), Dark Stones (44g each, usually you
can rack up 50+), etc., etc., earning anywhere from 15-30k easily. You can
also build up an endless chain this way, though it's not necessary if you've
reached the max (99) amount of any one type of item you can carry. It is
HIGHLY recommended you wait until lvl 20+ to do this, and possible have a
fourth character (guest) to help with the killing. I spent a day doing this
and built up 500k, reached lvl 31 on my main characters, bought all grimoires
with money to spare, and had more than half of my board opened (including
everyone's lvl 1-3 quickenings). Needless to say, I was MORE than ready to
take on anything that game my way until the second portion of the game.

Q. Is your Bazaar/Item/Whatever list complete?
A. Far as I know, yes. If there is something missing or incorrect, however,
please contact me and I will fix whatever needs a'fixin', plus you get a nifty
shout in the Thanks section. Isn't that special?

~ Updates ~

Update section is getting put down here, as no one really cares about it. This
is more or less for my own reference, and because documented progress makes me
feel spiffy.

11/6/06 - V.1.20 (many hours later)

-Completed Bazaar List
-Started a FAQ Section
-Starting to work on Loot List

11/6/06 - V.1.10

-Wrote Bazaar List A-D
-Spiffied up Grimoire Section

11/5/06 - V.1.00

-Started the FAQ
-Wrote Grimoire Section
-Wrote 'Thanks To' section so I remembered to give credit where due.

~ Thanks to ~

SquareEnix, for making, thus far, the ONLY games to ever hold my interest all
the
way up to completion.

BradlyGames, for making a guide that made my second play-through infinitely
easier, and helping me to pinpoint what exactly it was that I was selling to
make these bazaar items
appear.

Mi Amore, for allowing me to sit and play a video game for 10 hours at a time
without getting upset (as long as I remembered to do the dishes and take out
the trash...) Love you, honey!

Many others who have and will contribute to this and future walkthroughs.
Yall know who you are.
