Final Fantasy X

0 Version
                        -----------=-=-=-----------

Version 1.00: - The submitted "Ultimate Armours and Weapons" guide.

Version 1.10: - Due to comments of the MB users that I get to much credit, I
01-28-2005 added the new 1.3 section. 1.4 has become the copyright.
                - Added BHPL: removed Masamune's section.

Version 1.20: - The list goes on, 1.3.
01-28-2005 - Added 4 sections the Final Chart section (7.1, 7.2, 7.3 and
7.4, also based on the version difference).

Version 1.30: - BREAKTHROUGH. Magic Defence +20% is NOT needed for Nemesis.
01-29-2005 See 4.3. Removed 3.2.3. Yes, I found this out on my own ^_^.
                - For this, the Final Charts are edited too.

Version 1.40: - TrueDFX told me about the Tick System, so I added an extra
02-01-2005 section with Auto-Regen. It's not in the Table of Contents,
                  because IMO, it stays crap.

Version 1.41: - How could I forget him? 1.3 and credits updated.
02-24-2005

Version 2.00: - A resubmit. Capture Weapons added, and changed something in
06-23-2005 the OPTIONAL and overrated set-up.

Version 2.01: - Now that I know for sure it gets on, I'll update some
06-30-2005 (thank you GameFAQs ^_~).
                - Added two names to the credits list. I'm not too shabby to
let you out, if there's something to credit you on ^_^.
                - Change some stupid writing mistakes.

Version 2.10: - This is a comment I thought about a while ago: people are
08-08-2005 saying Auto-Potion is not useful in the US Version... still,
there's not a really good replacement for it either: BHPL
makes Auto-Phoenix useless. That brings us to a new armor:
                - 3.4 added for HP maniacs!!!!!!
                - Don't mind the way I type Armor (Armour). It's the British
way, and although I'm Dutch, it is less far from here than
                  the US ^_~.

Version 2.20: - Changed Capture Weapons section.
09-04-2005 - Changed some general mistakes.

My FAQ number: 9.

1.2 Introduction
                        -----------=-=-=-----------

A slightly different Introduction than my other FAQs. This guide has been
written by me, (]=-The@N-=[), know as TheaN on the message board. However,
most of the ideas of this FAQ goto other users, I only combined the ideas to
help out the newbies. See 1.4 for all these users. If you do have personal
questions for me, look in the Credits section on how to contact me, but DON'T
mail me for flaming or insulting, because you'll and up on my black list.
That was my introduction, on to the subject of this FAQ:

                        =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Is there a real Ultimate armour? No. You have to customize it yourself (3.0).
I will give a note to ALL armour abilities in the game, this guide will also
include the endless discussion about Break HP Limit, Ailment Proofs, Auto-Med,
Eaters and Ribbon. Look for these at 4.0.
I will also state something of the Weapons. Weapons however, will mostly be
the Celestials.
About the content, I did almost all of the content, but many other users
helped me create this.

CREATION OF THE ULTIMATE ARMOUR.

Other credits and that is very important, go to the users who were early on
the messageboard, even before my account was created and found out most of
the abilities. The concept of this guide is mine, but almost all of the ideas
aren't originally mine. The people who did come up with most of this:

- Theoden
- Thundaka
- jobber2022497
- Masamune3
- Split Infinity
- ArquillWephronic
- Can Eater

These users below don't visit the board frequently anymore, but have been
in the progress somehow:

- Plushie
- Terence
- JungleJim
- Ceebs!
- darktemplar20

And last but not least, a guy who deserves some credit, the one who put the
strategies in the MB until now:

- pjtierney2003

Since the creation of this FAQ, thanks go to:

3.0 Ultimate Armour
                        -----------=-=-=-----------

This section will discuss the Ultimate Armour, plus changes for certain final
bosses.
*REMEMBER* This whole guide is based on the end of the game. SOS abilities,
Proofs or Regenerate for example can be very useful in the storyline.

NOTE:
4-slotted-armours can be bought from Wantz in the beginning of the Macalania
Woods for 100.000. If he is not there because you didn't talk to him,
Adamantoise and Varuna drop them.

                        =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
3.1 Ultimate Armour
                        =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

This armour is the armour you can carry to survive almost every battle, except
for the Dark Aeons, Penance, but is appropriate with the Arena and all random
encounters. It carries *5* abilities, if you had 5 slotted armours:
Auto-Haste
Auto-Protect
Auto-Phoenix and
Auto-Potion or Auto-Regen.

As for the facts, I listed the most difficult or insufficient way of obtaining
customizable items as last, so sometimes unlock can be the last thing (if you
need more than 99 or 60 to customize the ability a lot).

3.1.1: Auto-Haste:
---------------------------
Ability Facts:
- Usage: Increases Agility.
- Customize: 80x Chocobo Wing --> Bribe Machea (Omega Ruins) for ~60x each
360.000 Gil or Unlock Cactuar King for 99x.
- Drop: Dark Mindy.

Your Counter value in the CTB will be halved. Don't get it? If you have Haste,
you will see the difference on the CTB Bar (if you do want to know, search the
big FAQs for "Battle Mechanics"). Don't have an Ultimate Armour without
Auto-Haste, it won't be Ultimate.

Your question: Why not cast Hastega manually. My answer:
I) A lot of Dark Aeons have a Dispel effect. Enough said.
II) KO and Petrification also carry Dispel effect. The former is obvious, but
the latter is something a lot of people don't know
III) Hastega has a huge Delay, although you might not notice it in the CTB-bar.
Throwing a Chocobo Wing will get rid of the Delay, but there's more.
IV) Some Dark Aeons and Penance inflict Slow with their attacks. Auto-Haste
has Slowproof, but a manually casted Haste is easily Dispeled with it. Going
from Haste to Slow will result in a Game Over.
V) Hastega / Chocobo Wing halves the tickspeed needed to have a next turn.
The earlier your next turns comes, the later Haste really applies. It's hard
to explain, but Haste is yet really active after the first turn the character
gets.
VI) Having Haste status in the beginning of the battle makes you have twice or
even thrice more turns than when you cast Haste manually (see V).
VII) After being revived from KO and starting in Haste status makes you have
twice or even thrice more turns than when you caste Haste manually (see V)

3.1.2: Auto-Protect:
---------------------------
Ability Facts:
- Usage: Halves physical attacks.
- Customize:    70x Light Curtain --> Defeat Fafnir for 20x (40x Overkill)
                or Unlock Juggernaut for 99x.
- Drop: Dark Bahamut.

Halves the hard bangs. In general, most physical attacks in FFX are more
powerful than the magicals and the last bosses, except Nemesis, won't really
break 255 Magic Defence. That is why Auto-Protect is a must on the armour,
because 255 Defence can be easily broken (Obliteration, Dark Aeons Normal
Attacks). For that, you must halve them to stay below the 9999 damage (see
4.1). As with Auto-Haste too, Auto-Protect can't be missed.

Your question: Why not cast Protect manually. My answer:
I) A lot of Dark Aeons have a Dispel effect. Enough said.
II) KO and Petrification also carry Dispel effect. The former is obvious, but
the latter is something a lot of people don't know
III) Unless you use overdrives, you will need three turns to cast in on the
active party. That's three times Rank III (when casting Protect) or three
times Rank II (when throwing Light Curtains).
IV) Having Protect Status after being revived or in the beginning of the
battle KO removes the need to cast it manually.

3.1.3: Auto-Potion:
---------------------------
Ability Facts:
- Usage: When reaches SOS Status, you will be healed with your lowest
                kind of Potion one time.
NOTE: Only use X-Potions when having this equipped or use
in combination with Trio of 9999.
- Customize: 4x Stamina Tablets --> Unlock One-Eye for 60x or Normal Steal
                from Dark Ixion for 2x.
- Drop: Earth Eater.

With only X-Potions and no Break HP Limit, this will heal you fully once you
enter the SOS Status. Bang, X-Potion --> +9999HP and full again. Except when
fighting the Dark Aeons, this will be the most important ability.

3.1.4: Auto-Phoenix:
---------------------------
Ability Facts:
- Usage: Heals KO of other party members automaticly with 50% HP.
                Required: Phoenix Downs.
- Customize:    20x Mega-Phoenix --> Unlock Pteryx for 99x or Bribe Ghost
(Sunken Cave) for ~40x each 200.000.
- Drop: Greater Sphere or Dark Cindy.

This one is very useful when fighting the Dark Aeons. If you don't have them
(US Version), it can be very useful for the Arena. You have to choose between
this one or Auto-Shell. IMO, Auto-Shell has less advantages, because only
Nemesis attacks heavy with Magic.

Why not throw a Phoenix Down manually:
I) It uses a turn. However, this can be brought down by Quick Pockets, but
that costs MP.
II) The delay is longer, because they are longer KO-ed. This is really
important at the Dark Aeons.

3.1.5 OPTIONAL: Auto-Regen:
---------------------------
Ability Facts:
- Usage: Automaticly heal HP after every command, either from you, the
                enemy or allies.
- Customize:    80x Healing Spring --> Defeat Kottos for 20x (40x Overkill).
- Drop: Dark Valefor.

I can't understand why people say Auto-Regen is that good. It heals for such a
little amount, that it won't even help in the big battles. Auto-Potion will
take care of highly damaged characters.
I removed the tick system paragraph. I don't know exactly how Regen works, so
it has no use. What I do know is that Auto-Potion can heal with one X-Potion.
Enough said. With more HP though, it does get useful with mutiple turns (see
3.4).

                        =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
3.2 Ultimate Armour Changes
                        =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

The armour above needs some changes for certain bosses. That is explained here.
Take a good look at the notes, these will state how much you need of these
changed armours.
NEMESIS DOESN'T NEED A CHANGE, SEE 4.3.

3.2.1: Dark Aeons: Ribbon instead of Auto-Potion.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ability Facts:
- Usage: Guard against all Status Ailments, except Death, Curse and
                Breaks.
- Customize: 99x Dark Matter --> Unlock Ultima Buster for 99x or Defeat
random Spiecies or Area Creations *rare drop* for 1x
                (2x Overkill).
- Drop: All Dark Aeons and Penance.

Most Dark Aeons come with Petrification or other crappy Status Ailments.
Stoneproof would be enough, but others like Darkness can be very annoying.
AMOUNT/CHANGE NOTES:
- I suggest having only two Ribbon armours for Tidus and Wakka, cause they will
be the ones in your main party (Attack Reels, Blitz Ace / Slice & Dice). So
they can heal the status ailments of others if needed. Use the 99 Dark Matter
from Ultima Buster for one and the use the Dark Matters from statmaxing for
the the second. If you don't have close to 99 Dark Matters after statmaxing,
leave Stoneproof on it and sell all the Dark Matters to remove all needs of
  gil.
- Good Ribbon armours are only dropped by the fearsome Dark Aeons, added with
  Auto-Haste (Mindy), Auto-Protect (Bahamut) or Auto-Phoenix (Cindy).
- Ultimate Dark Aeon Armour: Ribbon, Auto-Haste, Auto-Protect and Auto-Phoenix.

3.2.2: Penance: Defence +20% instead of Auto-Phoenix
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ability Facts:
- Usage: Increase your current Defence with 20%.
- Customize: 4x Blessed Gem --> Defeat Cactuar King for 3x (6x Overkill) or
Rare Steal Barbatos, Coeurlregina or One-Eye for 1x.
- Drop: None (with 3 Free Slots added or one of the abilities stated
                above).

Combined with 4x or 5x Cheer makes both Obliteration and Immolation go below
9999. With enough Agility, the Arms won't get a turn in. Penance made easy
because of Auto-Potion.
AMOUNT/CHANGE NOTES:
- Have three of these armours: Tidus, Wakka and Rikku are your best bets and
  never switch them.
- There is one other famous strategy for Penance, but that requires a none
maxed character. Just use this one.
- Ultimate Penance Armour: Auto-Haste, Auto-Protect, Auto-Potion and Defence
  +20%.

                        =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
3.3 Abilities for one Armour
                        =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

This means you will only need one armour with one of these abilities.
Master Thief can be more, but one would eventually be enough and a pain to
get more. Watch the notes carefully again.

3.3.1: No Encounters:
---------------------------
Ability Facts:
- Usage: No random encounters.
- Customize: 30x Purifying Salt --> Unlock Fafnir for 99x.
- Drop: Geosgaeno (Weapon Ability, glitch).

No random encounters. Very useful for Lightning Dodging but also when just
training somewhere.
NO ENCOUNTERS NOTES:
- If equipped, in the party or not, you won't get a single random encounter,
which is different from other FFs.
- One armour is enough. Keep the 69 or 99 Salts to Dispel enemies.
- DON'T PUT A SINGLE ABILITY WITH NO ENCOUNTERS. If you want an encounter,
you must unequip it, so you won't have the added ability anymore. If you
want the added ability for a Boss Fight, you can switch to the
corresponding armour right before the fight so you won't receive random
encounters on your way towards him.
- Don't waste money by buying a four-slotted armour of Wantz, just buy a
three-slotted in Besaid or win one with at least one free slot.

3.3.2: Master Thief:
---------------------------
Ability Facts:
- Usage: Always Steal Rare Items.
- Customize: 30x Pendulum --> Win the Remiem Race with 4 chests and
                no poles for 30x.
- Drop: None.

Always steal rare items. You need only one armour, just switch to that
armour if you want to steal rare items. You might add Auto-Haste to make
things go fast and Auto-Protect and Auto-Phoenix to make things saver.
MASTER THIEF NOTES:
- Don't bribe Ultima Weapon for insane amounts of Pendulums. The race is
  30 and that is enough.
- Ultimate Master Thief Armour: Master Thief, Auto-Haste, Auto-Protect
  and Auto-Phoenix.
- Master Thief CAN be added on an Auto-Haste armour instead of Auto-Phoenix.
This is required for the minimal equipment chart (7.2).

                        =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
3.4 HP Maniacs Armour
                        =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

This is the best all-round BHPL armour around. Even for the INT/PAL Version,
Ribbon makes no place. This is NOT getting added in the Final Charts. As an
addition to that: this could be your only armour for all characters. All-round
it's good for the Monster Arena, the Dark Aeons and even Penance can be tackled
with it. However, the 3.1 still is the best, but that's all in 4.1.

*help with creating this armour go to Sensorie and zzanmato. However, I also
fully thought this up on my own first, Sensorie tested it and came out rather
positive.*

3.4.1: Break HP Limit:
---------------------------
Ability Facts:
- Usage: Break the HP Limit of 9999HP to a maximum of 99999HP.
- Customize: 30x Wings to Discovery --> Win the Remiem Race with 3 chests
and no poles for 30x, defeat Shinryu for 1x (2x Overkill) or
                Bribe (Great) Malboro.
- Drop: Nemesis and Omega Weapon.

For someone who wants a HP armour, this seems a somewhat logical ability...
I suggest getting already one from Omega, and customize one. All others can
best be acquired by defeating Nemesis.

3.4.2: Auto-Haste:
---------------------------
Ability Facts:
See 3.1.1.

The same description goes as for the Ultimate Armour. An Ultimate Armour just
needs it. The same counts for the Auto-Protect description.

3.4.3: Auto-Protect:
---------------------------
Ability Facts:
See 3.1.2.

See above.

3.4.4: Auto-Regen:
---------------------------
Ability Facts:
See 3.1.5.

Now THIS is where this armour is based on. What ???? makes BHPL + ???? =
9999HP + Auto-Potion? Auto-Regen. Why?

I) Due to >67500HP, Auto-Regen heals more than with 9999HP.
II) Because more than 9999HP is used, the single healing of 9999 won't help
anymore (Auto-Potion). When KO-ed, 9999 won't really help either
(Auto-Phoenix).
III) The bad thing is that Haste decreases your healing potential. It still
isn't that important mostly.
IV) There can't be a replacement. Auto-Potion/Phoenix are both inferior,
see II. Ribbon will protect against Statuses, but won't heal. And manually
healing more than 9999HP is a pain.

Why not casting Regen manually, I think you know that now due to earlier
abilities.

It DOES NOT make this armour an ultimate one. If you really want to
fully use the Sphere Grid, use this one. Most Dark Aeons will be VERY
difficult due to no Ribbon.

4.0 Overrated abilities
                        -----------=-=-=-----------

Should I put: Break HP Limit, Auto-Med, Auto-Regen, etcetera on my armour? No,
no and again no. This section will explain why these nine abilities that are
called to be good aren't that good or a waste of a slot. As a note for my
newest version:
All of these abilities already waste a slot. In the description is stated why,
and there may be other general reasons why it isnt added, those are stated
now at "General reason why [ability] isn't added". SO NO MORE "Waste of an
armour slot"!

4.1 Break HP Limit
                        =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Ability Facts:
See 3.4.1.

*sorry to Masamune3 for copying a complete paragraph of his guide without
permission*

Break HP Limit is the most overrated ability in the game. More HP, something
bad to it? No, not at first. However, when you start fighting, you will see
that having more HP won't actually help you. Combined with Auto-Potion, 9999
HP is the best to have.
To explain this, I copied this list. This was originally created by Theoden and
credits go to him.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
BASICS
========================================
You can't heal more than 9999HP to everyone at once, except with Rikku's
Overdrive. Items are capped at 9999. Trio of 9999 and Pray will fully heal a
party that doesn't use BHPL.

Stoic/Comrade will give slower Overdrive gain with higher max HP.

Proportional damage attacks (e.g. Hydraulic Press, Demi, Mega Graviton, Fangs
of Chaos, etc) will do more damage with higher max HP. With 9999 HP, you can
fully heal in one shot. A BHPL character would have to waste more turns
healing.

Celestial Weapons for four of the characters will be weakened if they don't
keep HP topped up.

You never need BHPL. There are no attacks in the game that hit the whole
party for more than 9999 damage that cannot be predicted, blocked, reduced
below 9999 with Defensive measures or avoided altogether. Auto-Phoenix takes
care of attacks that hit a single character.

Break HP Limit is useless if you haven't activated enough nodes to go over
9999 HP yet. Auto-Phoenix is useful throughout the whole game. Having two
characters with Auto-Phoenix in the active party makes you almost invincible
against attacks that hit just one character, no matter how powerful.

Auto-Phoenix restores 9999HP max, so BHPL characters revived by it will be
near . Using Full Life to revive means wasting more turns, for both the
KO'ed character, and the character casting Full Life.

BHPL won't make any difference if you get hit for 99,999 damage or instant
Auto-Phoenix will. Powerful attacks will hit low Defence for 99,999
damage, so you need to raise Defence/Magic Def for BHPL to be useful. But if
you do raise them, you won't need BHPL, and they are easier to raise than HP.
Tanket and One Eye can be killed more easily and quickly than Ironclad.

Getting Break HP Limit is tedious and time consuming.

Collecting HP spheres from Ironclad is tedious and time consuming.

Auto-Potion is good for maintaining full HP in some tough battles, but if you
have BHPL, it'll only keep you just above 50% HP.

ATTACKS THAT PENETRATE 9999HP
========================================
Just to make things seems a little clearer, here's a nice little list showing
you what attacks will penetrate 9999 HP, even with max Defence or Magic
Defence. Use the legend at the bottom to understand what the number's beside
each attack mean.

 Karma used by Tonberries (1,~3,5)
10,000 Needles used by Cactuars and Cactuar King (1,5)
99,999 Needles used by Cactuar King (1,3,5)
Regurgitate used by Geosgaeono, only used if character kills him while
swallowed. (5)
Zanmato used by Yojimbo/Dark Yojimbo (2,3,5)
 Convergence used by Th'uban (1,2,~3,5)
Ethereal Cannon used by Nemesis (1,4)
Ultra Spark used by Nemesis. The one attack that requires Auto-Life. Although
technically not predictable, (2) applies, since you can kill him before he
gets 8 turns.
 Armageddon used by Nemesis (3,5)
Energy Blast used by Dark Valefor (2,5) *
Meteor Strike used by Dark Ifrit (1,2,5) *
Hellfire used by Dark Ifrit (2,5) *
Thor's Hammer used by Dark Ixion (2,5) *
Diamond Dust used by Dark Shiva (2,5) *
Mega Flare used by Dark Bahamut (2) *
Wakizashi used by Dark Yojimbo (4) *
Oblivion used by Dark Anima (2) *
Delta Attack used by the Dark Magus Sisters (2,3,5) *
Camisade used by Dark Cindy (1) *
Passado used by Dark Mindy - requires proof even with BHPL (1) *
Razzia used by Dark Sandy (1) *
Obliteration used by Penance (4) *
Immolation used by Penance (1,4) *
Judgement Day used by Penance (2,3,5) *

1: Hits only one character, so Auto-Phoenix can take care of it.
2: Attack used predictably, so can be blocked with an aeon.
3: Does 99,999 damage, so BHPL makes no difference.
4: Can be reduced below 9999 with additional support (e.g. Defence/Magic Def
+20%, Cheer, Focus, Shell, or Sentinel).
5: Preventable (enemy can be killed before using it, or conditions for attack
can be avoided).
*: PAL/International version exclusive.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

So, that is that. This is me again. General reason why BHPL isn't added:
- A pain to get.
- More disadvantages than advantages.

                        =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
4.2 Ribbon
                        =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Ability Facts:
See 3.2.1.

*RIBBON IS PAL/INTERNATIONAL VERSION EXCLUSIVE*
This would have been the best ability in the game. If the status ailments were
such a disaster. They can easily be healed by a Remedy or Esuna. Those not
healed by Esuna or Remedy are:
- Curse: Ribbon has no protection against it either; can be dispelled or throw
  a Holy Water.
- Death: Ribbon has no protection against it either; Auto-Phoenix will take
  care of it.
- Breaks: Ribbon has no protection against it either; can be dispelled.
- Zombie: Holy Water can handle it easily.
- Doom
Conclusion: Doom is the only good reason to have Ribbon. So forget it, unless
fighting the Dark Aeons (3.2.1), because curing the ailments is a problem at
them.
General reasons Ribbon isn't added:
- A pain to get.
- Not needed for normal battles.

                        =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
4.3 Magic Defence +20%
                        =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Ability Facts:
- Usage: Increase your current Magic Defence with 20%.
- Customize: 4x Blessed Gem --> Defeat Cactuar King for 3x (6x Overkill) or
Rare Steal Barbatos, Coeurlregina or One-Eye for 1x.
- Drop: None (with 3 Free Slots added or one of the abilities stated
                above).

For Nemesis was the idea. One thing: it's NOT needed. Why?
I) Focus x5 + Shell will decrease Ethreal Cannon below 9999HP, so MD +20% is
not needed.
II) Ultra Spark can't be survived, because it can't be decreased by Shell,
Focus and of course, Magic Defence upgrades.
III) Ultima will stay below the 5000 damage (Auto-Potion won't be triggered)
with ANY of the upgrades:
- Shell = 4000 damage.
- Focus x5 = 3000 damage.
- But also Magic Defence +20% = 4500 damage.
IV) Armegeddon can, as always, not be decreased.
General reasons Magic Defence +20% isn't added:
- Nothing besides a wasted armour slot.

                        =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
4.4 Auto-Shell
                        =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Ability Facts:
- Usage: Halves magical attacks, including healing magic.
- Customize: 70x Lunar Curtain --> Unlock Abaddon for 99x or Normal Steal
from Jumbo Flan or Juggernaut for 4x.
- Drop: Dark Sandy.

This was once an optional choice for the Ultimate. Why not anymore?
- In case this ability isn't enough to stay alive, Auto-Shell won't heal
  your party members if they're KOed (Auto-Phoenix > Auto-Shell).
- Magical attacks are rare in the end of the game.
- It will decrease Curaga as well, but you will eventually heal with
  X-Potions.
- Lunar Curtains are time consuming to get.
- For the rare circumstances you need Shell, either (Super/Hyper) Mighty
Guard or just Shell / Lunar Curtain casts it quite fast.
You can simply cast it without going through the Lunar Curtain problem.
General reasons Auro-Shell isn't added:
- Nothing besides a wasted armour slot.

                        =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
4.5 [Status Ailment]Proof
                        =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

The same reason as Ribbon. They can easily be cured, so why do difficult
getting them. While capturing, you can come in trouble with fiends who will
cast nasty status effects on all your characters at once:

(Great)Malboro's Bad Breath: (Confusion, Berserk, Slow, Poison): Make sure you
have First Strike (Auron's fully powered up Masamune has it for example) and
cast Provoke to make sure you'll never see Bad Breath.

Spirit's Poison Mist (Confusion, Poison): Spirit doesn't know how to handle
Provoke; cast it and he will only be healing your party with White Wind

Demonolith's Breath (Petrification): This is the only [Status Ailment]Proof
you need: Stoneproof. It misses quite often, but you should not rely on it.
General reasons Proofs aren't added:
- Not needed, almost all can be evaded.

                        =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
4.6 Auto-Med
                        =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Ability Facts:
- Usage: Will use corresponding items to heal Poison, Silence,
Darkness or Zombie. Inflicted with more will cause a
                remedy trigger.
                Required:
                - Antidotes
                - Echo Screens
                - Eye Drops
                - Holy Waters
                - Remedies
- Customize: 20x Remedy --> Buy at Rin for 1500 each.
- Drop: Shinryu and Achelous (Mount Gagazet).

The most known Auto-Med. First of all, you need items to heal, so you need
to restock every half an hour. Second, it won't heal the annoying Status
Ailments. Third, you will use a remedy when inflicted with, lets say,
Silence and Darkness, which are easy healed with Esuna. Even with these
three reasons, I won't say it's bad, but it's just not very helpful and
wastes an armour slot.
General reasons Auto-Med isn't added:
- Needs items.
- Not needed.

                        =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
4.7 [Element]Eater
                        =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

The eaters. Nice for Seymour Omnis they say. Yes, that's the ONLY reason
you should equip these armours. For other bosses it is NOT needed. Leave
the Eaters at home, take the Phantom Bangle for Lulu and Phantom Ring for
Yuna and leave that as the only two.
General reasons Eaters aren't added:
- Not needed.

                        =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
4.8 Auto-Reflect
                        =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Ability Facts:
- Usage: Bounce spells casted on character to the other side.
- Customize: 40x Star Curtain --> Unlock Nega Elemental for 99x.
- Drop: Geosgaeno.

I'm not really saying this is overrated, because it's not mentioned much.
There is one big reason: there won't be Spells from the Final Bosses or they
can't be Reflected. Only Ultima Weapon's Holy would work. Thereby, it will also
bounce of healing magic.
General reason Auto-Reflect isn't added:
- Not needed.

                        =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
4.9 HP/MP +30%
                        =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Simple, you don't need upgrades for HP or MP. Max the sphere grid and you
will have 9999HP and 999MP. Even if you want to use the HP Maniacs armor,
67000 - 75000 HP is enough.
General reason HP/MP upgrades aren't added:
- Not needed.

                        -----------=-=-=-----------

Now a little weapons section. Besides the Magic Weapons, no other weapons can
actually beat the Celestial Weapons. I know that Steaver had some ideas,
although I don't know anymore what they were. Celestials ignore Defence and
are therefore indeed the "Celestial Weapons".

6.1 Celestial Weapons
                        =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

They will ignore Defence and will have shifty abilities. However, you should
use them for the ones who are related to HP. Rikku, Tidus, Auron, Wakka and
Kimahri. See the Ultimate Weapons FAQ for a full guide.

6.2 Magic Weapons
                        =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

However, Lulu and Yuna are based on their max MP and some fiends will use an
Osmose ability (Dark Anima for example). For that, you can make Magic Weapons
for them, because you will use the others for physical attacks.

6.2.1: Break Damage Limit:
---------------------------
Ability Facts:
- Usage: Break the Damage Limit of 9999 damage to 99999 damage.
- Customize: 60x Dark Matter --> (I hope you used the 99 from Ultima Buster
for Ribbon) Defeat Random Monster Arena Fiends *Rare Drop* x2.
- Drop: Nemesis.

You won't have anything with 9999 damage. I'm suggesting to get these two
from Nemesis and customize the other abilities.

6.2.2: One MP Cost:
---------------------------
Ability Facts:
- Usage: Reduce MP to 1 of every spell.
- Customize: 20x Three Stars --> Unlock Earth Eater for 60x or win the
Remiem Race with 5 chests and no poles for 60x.
- Drop: Greater Sphere, Dark Bahamut, Dark Mindy and Dark Anima.

If you want to use Magic, 1 MP for every spell is nice. Especially if Holy
is 80MP and Ultima 90MP (180MP with Doublecast).

6.2.3: Magic Booster:
---------------------------
Ability Facts:
- Usage: Doubles MP to make the spells more painful.
- Customize: 30x Turbo Ether --> Unlock Bomb King for 60x.
- Drop: Jumbo Flan and Dark Mindy.

In combination with One MP Cost, this will be 2MP for every spell. Hm,
999 : 2 = 499 spells and 249 Doublecasts. I doubt a single enemy will still
be alive after 499 Ultimas. At least Juggernaut will survive...

6.2.4: Magic +20%:
---------------------------
Ability Facts:
- Usage: Increase your current Magic with 20%.
- Customize: 4x Supreme Gem --> Unlock Greater Sphere for 60x.
- Drop: None.

It will add a nice amount to the current damage, that's all.

6.2.5 OPTIONAL: First Strike:
---------------------------
Ability Facts:
- Usage Have a turn as first in a battle. With more First Strikes,
                the Agility will decide.
- Customize:    1x Return Sphere --> Defeat Chimerageist for 1x (2x Overkill).
- Drop: Dark Valefor.

You might choose for First Strike. However, the chose between one extra
turn or 20% extra damage every turn is not difficult for me (Magic +20% :D).

While capturing: Those weapons are very useful (Doublecast Demi + Break Damage
Limit + Magic Booster + Magic +20% ripps of +70% of the fiend's HP without
taking any risk of killing them. For those who argue: Yes, Magic +20% also
works with Demi.

6.3 Capture Weapons
                        =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

This is one section that I added in version 2.00. What ability is the best as
second ability to be used when still capturing? Find out. Notice there is no
"Drop" section. You always have to buy the Capture Weapons yourself, so this
MUST be customized.

At first, I had Stone/Deathstrike here. After going into a discussion with
Theoden (don't do that), he convinced me that Overkills can help you early on,
by boosting Aeon's abilities/attributes (Ability Spheres have no attribute, so
every Aeon can easily learn Scan (& Extract Ability, if you're planning on
maxing them). These I consider best abilities on a Capture Weapon, in a party
of 3:

1) E&C. Of the regular fiends, no attack will hit, besides Magic.
2) First Strike. A must when capturing in Inside Sin or the Omega Ruins.
3) Initiative. Just to prevent the battle from taking longer.
4) Piercing. When having the Tidus/Wakka/Auron party, Wakka or Tidus can have
a major advantage of Piercing (aka breaking armor automaticly). Auron could
also armor break the fiends though.
5) Gillionaire. Nice for one of them, not really needed though.
6) Stone/Deathstrike. For Omega Ruins or Inside Sin. You won't Overkill most
fiends in those areas with 9999, so shattering or killing them doesn't
   matter then actually.

I'd go with:
Tidus: Initiative.
Wakka: Piercing/First Strike.
Auron: E&C/Piercing.

                        =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

The best is to have the Nirvana and Onion Knight here, because you will use
them against Penance and Nemesis for physical. I added Master Thief to Auron's
Ultimate Armour to make it a perfect Minimal Set:

With the US Version, minimal and complete are the same, because there isn't
any difficult boss around. Although does count you can have both the Nirvana
and Abraxas. The same counts for the Onion Knight and the Soul of Mog.
