Hiya everyone and welcome to the first walkthrough by me: Michele!!!

So a brief introduction huh? Well, as a lover of video games since before I can
remember, I�ve found that the most intriguing types of games belonged to the
RPG and survival horror genre. The Fatal Frame series was no exception. I fell
in love with its unique battle system of using a camera instead of your
traditional weapon (example: Sword, gun, and knife) to dispose of your enemy,
in this case being ghosts. This is a change of pace after constantly fighting
zombies (Resident Evil) and mutant dogs (Silent Hill.) This game, like its
predecessors, includes a wonderful, in-depth story line full of love, revenge,
hatred, mystery, and just plain good ol� picture taking fun! This edge of your
seat survival horror has found a place in my heart as well as a permanent
residence in my nightmares.

This guide contains MAJOR SPOILERS!!! This guide in no way sugarcoats the game.
This guide will do one thing, help you get to point A to B with all the help
necessary to do so, which includes giving away the story line. If you DO NOT
want to story revealed to you, then please do not use my guide, I promise

    A)  Button Configurations
**********************************

These are the default controls that every new game starts out with. On the
title screen, select Option, and then select Controller to change the button
settings. These default settings were the ones I used in the game and
therefore these are the ones I will be referring to in my guide. You are free
to use whatever controller settings you wish, the default ones were just
easier for me.

       B)  Battling System
**********************************

This part of the guide will help you become familiar with the settings that
your camera has. This will also explain the various upgrades, lens, and special
abilities that your camera will acquire throughout the game. Considering the
camera obscura is your only weapon in this game...you should want to learn more
about it...
Right?

a)  Description of the Viewfinder
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Yes, the part of the camera that has the most play action...is...you guessed
it...the Viewfinder. Chances are you will be spending a great deal of time
using this function, whether you are fighting ghosts, taking pictures of
ghosts, or just taking pictures of the background. (This by the way is
beautiful, very detailed and mysterious...way to go Tecmo!) There are many
important things you'll need to know whilst in Finder mode to get the most out
of your picture taking experience. Ready?

** Filament **

   At the top of the Finder is a filament that will change color depending on
what type of spirit or clue you are facing. If the filament is a bright red
color, you are most likely facing a hostile ghost and therefore should prepare
for a fight. You may also be encountering a vanishing ghost, which sometimes
causes the filament to turn red instead of the usual blue.
   If the filament turns blue in color, you most likely are facing some type of
vanishing ghost. However, there are times in which you are facing the special
secret ghosts numbered one through thirty-three on your ghost list your first
game play. Yet another time when your filament will turn blue is when you're
facing a guardian ghost sealing a door or protecting a certain object. A final
time your filament will turn blue is if you're facing an important clue
essential for continuing on in the story line.
   Pay close attention to what the color your filament is; this will determine
whether or not you're in for a fight or just taking a shot.
   If you�re fighting a ghost and your filament goes out, the ghost you�re
fighting has teleported to another location. My best advice is to exit the
finder mode and move around until you can relocate the ghost, then bring up the
finder again and continue the fight. You can also use what I call the speed
button and hold down either the square or L2 buttons to speed up the turn rate
of your finder. By following this method you don�t necessarily need to exit the
finder in order to locate your ghost.

** Capture Circle **

   This is the large circle that appears every time you raise your camera to
take a picture. It shows the capture range of the Camera Obscura. This is the
thing you are upgrading when you choose to use your spirit points on Range. The
larger the range, the bigger the capture circle will be. This allows you to
have a bigger radius in order to locate and shoot the ghost(s) in question.

** Charge Meter **

   These are the Japanese symbols that surround the capture circle. This meter
accumulates during fighting when you have a hostile ghost held inside your
capture circle. This is the thing you are upgrading when you choose to use your
spirit points on Max Value. The larger the amount on your charge meter, the
more damage you will inflict. Once you have taken a picture the charge returns
to 0.

** Health Meter **

   This blue bar along the right side of the screen is your health meter or
life bar. This shows the players remaining health. When the blue bar runs out
the game is over. This can be replenished at any time by using either an herbal
medicine or sacred water from the menu screen. Please see the Health Status
section for more information.

** Film Type/Shots Remaining **

   This shows the type of film you are using and the number of exposures that
remain. You can change the type of film by using the directional buttons when
in finder mode. Be aware when your film gets low! If you run completely out of
film or are just too low to continue you can always leave the dream state by
exiting through those doors next to the blue lanterns. Your film count will
reset and when you reenter the dream you'll have the default amount of type 7
and 14 films.

** Lock Circle **

   This small circle appears within the center of your capture circle. This is
very helpful along with the track function to locate ghosts easier. This shows
the center of a ghost you have captured in your capture circle.

** Upgraded Lens **

   Do you see the vertical circles with the Japanese symbols on them that are
on the bottom left side of the screen? This is where you can see an upgraded
lens. Upgraded lens parts can be used to inflict various kinds of effects on
ghosts; these are displayed when equipped with a different symbol for each
lens. You�ll need Spirit Points to be able to use these lenses.

** Spirit Points **

   The small horizontal circles at the very bottom of the screen show your
spirit points. These show the accumulation number of Spirit Points, which are
necessary for using the Upgraded Lenses. You accumulate Spirit Points by
inflicting damage on hostile ghosts.

   Miku cannot use upgraded lenses; therefore this indicator does not appear
   when you are playing as Miku.

** Hp Gauge **

   This horizontal yellowish orange bar is located at the very top of the
screen right underneath the filament. This shows the Health of the ghost(s) you
are fighting. This is displayed once you have acquired the measure function for
your camera. I find this function very helpful when fighting ghosts, especially
during the harder areas towards the end of the game.

        C) Health Status
**********************************

     Health/Life Bar
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

In this game the character's life bar can only be shown in the viewfinder mode
and during battles with various hostile ghosts. The life bar is a blue vertical
bar on the right side of the screen. If the blue column in the bar runs out
your character will die causing a Game Over. The life bar begins to decrease
when the hostile ghosts attack you. In order to replenish your health, you can
use healing items, which include Herbal Medicines (which will heal you for a
small amount of life) and Sacred Waters (which will restore your health to max)
at anytime. You can�t use healing items when your life bar is completely full.

         Revival
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The only way to save your life after the life bar has been extinguished, is by
carrying a Stone Mirror in your inventory. They are very rare compared to the
other items and are scattered around in the game. Stone Mirrors do not roll
over, which means you can never have more than one Stone Mirror in your
inventory at the same time. Since you are only allowed to carry one Stone
Mirror at a time, you can be saved only once after dying. Once you use a Stone
Mirror it will disappear, which means if you want to be saved from certain doom
a second time you'll need to find another Stone Mirror. Make sense?

         Saving
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

In this game there are blue lantern�s scattered around the manor which you can
use to save your progress and create/edit a photo album. Just press the action
button when you are standing next to one. The Save Screen will appear for you
to make a choice. Like the previous Fatal Frames, these Save Points will not
work when there are ghosts present in the area. Normally the lantern will
always lit, but when you see it become pale, it means you will not be able to
use it at that time, because there are ghosts wandering in that area. At that
time, there are two choices: Dispel all the ghosts in the area to use that Save
Point or run away for another Save Point in a location with no ghosts.


**********************************
        D) Battle Tips
**********************************

~ Always use your Type 7 film when taking pictures of non-hostile ghosts.
Switch to a higher film whenever a hostile ghost attacks.

~ Type 14 film will appear in each dream.  I will provide a list of all the
reappearing film locations in the Item Tips Section. Try to conserve your more
higher quality film for dangerous encounters.

~ Always take advantage of a Shutter Chance. When fighting a ghost and the
indicator in the middle of the camera turns to a bright red, you will have an
opportunity for a Shutter Chance. A ghost must be hit at the moment it is about
to attack in order to initiate these special abilities.  A Shutter Chance will
interrupt and stop the ghosts� attack.

~ A Fatal Frame can be initiated during the Shutter Chance window, but the
ghost usually has to be extremely close in order for it to work.  A Fatal Frame
will stop the ghost from attacking and send it flying back, leaving it open to
a combo.  The Fatal Frame damage will vary depending on the type of film used.

~ Once a Fatal Frame has been initiated, the ghost will be open to a combo
shot.  Keep the camera indicator directly on the ghost until a second Fatal
Frame flashes on the screen, and then snap another shot to quickly start a
combo chain.  The ghost will fly back once again and will be open to another
combo attack. As long as the ghost is still in range, you can keep adding more
shots to the combo. The combo will end when you can no longer see the ghosts
for instance, the ghost got pushed back so far it went into a wall or other
obstruction and therefore obscured the camera�s view on it.

~ If you have problems getting a Shutter Chance or Fatal Frame on a particular
ghost then go for a normal fully charged shot to avoid taking damage.

~ Always take pictures of non-aggressive ghosts to help build your Spirit
Points up for upgrades to your camera.

~ Remember to check and upgrade your camera when you get enough Spirit Points,
especially the basic functions (Max Value, Range, Sensitivity). The later
battles are always harder then first ones, so you shouldn't leave your camera
un-upgraded at all, unless you want a real challenge ;)

~ When it comes to battling random ghosts, most of the time you should fight
them. Some of them you are obligated to fight in order to continue with the
storyline. If you are a good camera user, fighting these ghosts not only gives
you many Spirit Points to upgrade your camera, but also helps you to practice
the ghosts' patterns, as most of them appear a few times throughout the game.

~ Sometimes if the battle is getting a little hairy and you feel you are too
weak or you're having item shortage, you can escape. Just simply pass the
ghosts and run as far away from them as you can. At some limit, the ghosts will
either stop chasing you or even disappear. Remember that this doesn't work for
storyline battles in which every way out is locked until the ghost(s) are
defeated.

~ Whenever you are grabbed by a ghost, the camera angle will zoom in on the
attacking ghosts� face and the screen turns multi colored. In this situation
you had better mash the shutter button continuously in order to dodge the
attack. Of course, this trick only works after you have got the "Evade"
ability.

~ To minimize your random ghost encounters DO NOT WANDER AROUND TOO LONG.
Unless you�re looking for more ghosts to help you power up your camera, try not
to wander around aimlessly. There are certain ghosts, who will always appear in
specific areas; such as the rope priestess will always appear in the
confinement room after a given amount of time.

~ Use each character�s special abilities, as they will help you get through
some harder areas. However, I would recommend that you upgrade your basic
functions first then concentrate on special abilities and finally move to the
upgraded lens. Below is listed each characters special ability.

~~~Rei Kurosawa~~~

* Flash: This will allow Rei to send the ghost flying back at any time, and
will leave the ghosts vulnerable to a shutter chance or Fatal Frame. Rei will
start out with a certain amount of flashes per night once the ability has been
received.  Exit and re-enter the dream world to change the amount back to
default.

~~~Kei Amakura~~~

* Hide: Kei is able to hide or crouch down along the side of any wall-type
section in order to hide from a ghost.  This has got to be the worst special
ability ever, although it will help out until Kei gets Camera Obscura.  As long
as the filament on the bottom right hand side of the screen is blue, the ghost
cannot see Kei, but if it changes to red, then the ghost knows where Kei is
which mean you had best move!

~~~Miku Hinasaki~~~

* Sacred Stone: Sacred Stone will allow Miku to slow down time momentarily and
will help you to get a shutter chance or Fatal Frame shot much easier. Use this
move on hard-to-fight ghosts such as the Rope Man, or Stroller Granny.

* Double: With this function Miku can charge one shot, then charge an extra
shot right behind the first for double damage.  Charge the camera on a ghost
until all the icons are lit up, then depress or hold down the action button to
charge an extra shot around the icons of the first.  Let go of the button and
you will cause double damage to the ghost targeted.  If you let up during a
shutter chance and achieve a Fatal Frame shot, then the rest of the combo shots
in the Fatal Frame combo will hit for double damage as long as you time the
shots just right. Nifty ^_^


**********************************
         E) Item Tips
**********************************

~ Use Herbal Medicines first when you need to heal. You will automatically get
three of them every night (eight on easy mode), and many Herbal Medicine
pickups will appear in each dream.

~ Try to save your stronger films and healing items as much as you can. It's
always good to be stingy with your goods. If you don't receive this advice,
just wait for till you get to the end, especially in Hard and Nightmare modes.

~ Examine everything in sight. In Fatal Frame games, not all the usable objects
are little glowing balls, especially files and hidden items (Films, healing
items, etc). So it's better for you to try checking everything that you see.
Getting to the end of the game with only one herbal medicine and 5 shots of
type 14 film isn�t going to do you much good. Besides, many of the files
provide valuable story line information, and you don�t want to miss out of
those!

~ Below is a list of all the reappearing items for each night. Every time you
re-enter the dream, no matter which character you�re playing as, these items

         F) Picture Tips
**********************************

~ Whenever a Vanishing Ghost shows himself/herself, you are made aware of their
presence by a bell sound that vibrates your controller (if "Vibration" is
turned ON). This very important detail will help you to spot the ghosts faster
than usual so you can take their photos promptly, because not all Vanishing
Ghosts stay long enough for you to catch.

~ Just be calm when pulling up the Finder Mode and taking your picture. Expect
some Vanishing Ghosts to hide in hard-to-see areas; they will become a problem.
After you get the track function on your camera these ghosts will be much
easier to find. Track allows the character to automatically aim at a ghost when
it appears on the screen. Very helpful ^_^
~ Some Vanishing Ghosts don't react to your camera. Neither the filament nor
the capture circle will glow when you face them. Fortunately, this game also
gives you chance to see them for a while before they disappear. If when you
pull up your camera on something you think could be a hidden ghost, you will
notice your capture circle moving around to the center of the picture. When you
snap the picture you will know if you caught a hidden ghost if its name appears
under the picture ex. Mio Amakura when you take a picture of her in the
confinement room.

~ Walk rather than run. In fact, you should always do this task everywhere, no
matter if you�ve been to an area before or not, as the ghosts can re-appear
anywhere and at any time. It may slow you down, but it's effective whenever a
new ghost appears, especially Vanishing Ghosts who just show themselves for a
limited moment. Walking will help you spot them at the right time and take
their photos accurately.

Just some of the many people that you will encounter in the dream manor are
listed below. You will discover many more as you continue to explore the manor
and delve deeper into the mystery.


Rei Kurosawa (Playable Character)

   Rei Kurosawa is a 23-year-old freelance photographer. While on a freelance
assignment taking pictures of a supposedly haunted mansion, the image of her
deceased fianc� appears in the photographs. What is also terrifying is a
strange tattoo that is beginning to appear over Rei's body, and that the ghosts
that haunt her dreams also don the same tattoo.

Kei Amakura (Playable Character)

   Kei is a friend of Rei�s deceased fianc�, Yuu, and a nonfiction writer. Kei
unknowing of his friend�s death continues to research the mystery that
surrounds the myth of the �Manor of Sleep.� Kei has also fallen victim to this
dream manor while trying to find out what strange illness has befallen his
niece, Mio. (Yes, this is the very same Mio from Fatal Frame II!)

Miku Hinasaki (Playable Character)

   Guess whose back? Back again... Miku�s back... okay, okay, so Muki returns
to the Fatal Frame series as Rei�s assistant. Miku lives with Rei in the house
that she and Yuu shared. Yuu was a good friend of Miku�s brother Mafuyu, who
disappeared some years ago in an incident that surrounds Fatal Frame I. Miku
too, has fallen into the dream manor beckoned by her dead brother.

Ruri

   Although not a main character, Ruri is Miku�s little black cat that lives in
Rei�s house. This little fellow will relocate himself around the house
announcing spiritual activity.

Yoshino Takigawa

   This bright young woman was recently involved in a plane incident in which
all her family and friends, including her boyfriend, died but her. Now this
sole survivor spends her days in a local hospital and her nights roaming the
manor of sleep. You will spend most of the beginning of the game following her
around.

Wandering Mother and Daughter

   These two will also appear in the beginning of the game. They are searching
for someone dear to them.

   Ah yes, the meat and potatoes of this guide. Throughout this walkthrough, as
mentioned previously, I will be taking you through the manor of sleep in hopes
to find the cure to the constantly spreading tattoo appearing on your
characters. You will notice that when I list the appearances of ghosts, they
will have different connotations depending on what kind they are. ** Will
indicate that a vanishing ghost will appear. !! Will signify the appearance of
secret ghosts or ghosts that will not cause your filament to react until you
get the SENSE function your second play through. ~~ Will surround attacking
ghosts or the appearance of the tattooed priestess.

   SPOILERS ABOUND!!!! This is NOT a spoiler-free walkthrough. With that said,
I strongly advise not reading through this guide if you DO NOT want the plot
spoiled for you. I also advise against using this guide unless you are
stuck...which tends to happen frequently in the later chapters. You will get
much more out of the game if you play through it yourself and only use this
guide as a reference. All right, enough of me...lets get going!

                              CUT SCENE

  The opening scene shows a flipped car on the side of the road. Emerging from
the wreckage is the heroine of the story, Rei Kurosawa. As she climbs up the
embankment she turns around to look at the damage. She slowly walks towards the
car and suddenly drops to her knees. As the camera pans to the inside of the
car, she sees that her fianc�, Yuu, has apparently died because of the crash.
�Yuu...� Rei utters mournfully.
   About two months have passed since the incident, and Rei finds herself on a
freelance photo shoot of a supposedly haunted manor. The camera clicks away as
she takes pictures of the windows...the stairwell...and an old hearth. �Rei?
Should we get going?� asks Miku, her assistant. �I heard this house was
haunted...too bad it�s not...� replies Rei as she looks around the room.
�Rumors are just rumors...I�m going to pack these up� Miku states as she bends
down to pick up the numerous camera equipment. Rei decides to take a few more
pictures of the house before she goes. She aims her camera down a hallway, and
takes a picture. In the viewfinder Rei sees the image of Yuu. Putting down her
camera, she glances down the hallway. �Yuu?� she asks the mystery figure. The
ghostly image turns and begins to walk down the hall. Rei starts after the
image and suddenly comes to a stop and could not but stare.
  In front of her she stares at a huge manor. Snow begins to fall. Rei finds
herself standing in a courtyard surrounded by graves. This is where the story
begins...

~~~ Grave Courtyard ~~~

When you can control Rei, you should first get your bearings and play around
with the camera functions. No ghosts will attack you as you stand here, so feel
free to take your time. When you�re ready, walk straight forward passing the
graves on both sides of you and go through the double doors ahead.

~~~ Hall with Tatami ~~~

If you turn around, you will notice that the door you just entered through has
locked itself. Guess like there�s nowhere to go but forward. Move directly
forward and peer through the crack in the lattice.

** THE TURNED BACK MAN **

Take a picture of THE TURNED BACK MAN while looking through the lattice ahead.
He will not move from this spot until you move around to the left side of the
lattice into the main part of the room.

Go up the small set of stairs to your left. Take a sharp right when you get to
the top of the stairs and walk a little forward, making sure that the wooden
pillar is on your left hand side. Walk straight forward to the back of the
room...

** BECKONING YUU **

Raise your camera and quickly take a picture of BECKONING YUU as he walks
through the doorway just ahead of you.

If you decide to go up the stairs on your left a very aggressive Man in White
will attack you. Since you have no way of defending yourself attack ghostly
attacks, it�s probably best not to go up there for the moment.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you do decide to go upstairs and you end up dying, the game will instantly
transport you to the next part of the daydream. But in doing so you�ll miss out
on some ghost pictures. Your call! So...during the daydream, you�ll never get a
game over...you wont be so lucky during the rest of the game however ^_^
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When you�re ready lets continue to follow Yuu.

** WANDERING MOTHER AND WANDERING DAUGHTER **

These two ghosts are EXTREMELY hard to catch, unless you know the best way to
do it. As you go down the hall that Yuu went, you will see a room off to your
left side, a little screen about waist high on the floor and a large partition
a few inches over from the screen. WANDERING MOTHER AND WANDERING DAUGHTER will
appear directly behind the partition. Tap the controller one step at a time
towards the open walkway down the hall. I find that if you stay close to the
wall you�ll have a better chance of catching these two. The very instant you
see the ghosts appear, pull an quick 180 by pressing down on the controller
(Default settings) and run until you are just in between the waist high screen
and the partition. Pull your camera and take a shot. You must take both
pictures of the mother and daughter to get the full 4000 pts. If you only take
one shot you�ll only get 2000 pts. If you�re determined on getting these shots,
you�re not too far from the beginning if you want to reload and try again.
(It�s better to wait until your second play through when you have acquired the
TRACK function for your camera.)

It doesn�t matter which door you go through next, as they all lead to the same
place. So enter a door and you�ll find yourself in a hallway.

~~~ Barred Hallway ~~~

As you walk down this hallway, you�ll notice a giant mirror on your left side.
Pass the mirror and turn the corner, and to your right will be a lattice.

** LATTICE WOMAN **

Do not run up to the lattice; just calmly take your picture of this vanishing
ghost as she appears.

Continuing down the hall, you will notice some snow coming down from a hole in
the ceiling. Once you pass the snow on the ground, a MAN IN WHITE will come
barreling after you from behind. DO NOT try to fight him, as your current
camera will do no damage to him. Run quickly down the hall, pass the first set
of stairs that you see or you will be stuck in an area you don�t need to be.
Instead, take the second set of stairs; they will be shorter in nature if
you�re wondering, to enter the garden corridor.

~~~ Garden Corridor ~~~

As you walk down the left side of the square walkway...

** GIRL IN HALLWAY **

A girl wearing priestess garb will appear in the hallway to your left. She�ll
stay there for a good couple of seconds, making this an easy capture. Aim
downwards to get her picture.

As you go down the right side of the walkway...

** GIRL IN HALLWAY **

Another girl wearing priestess garb will appear, this time in the hallway to
your right. She�ll stay there for a good couple of seconds, making this an easy
capture. Aim downwards once again to catch her picture. It doesn�t matter which
side of the walkway you go down first, both of these ghosts will appear and
count as separate entries in your ghost list.

After taking both pictures, go through the double doors in the back of the
garden corridor, behind the tree next to the save lantern.

~~~ Shrine Courtyard ~~~

Go down the stairs and walk straight towards the huge double doors in the back
of the courtyard. As you do...

** DISAPPEARING YUU **

The instant you get control of Rei raise the camera and take Yuu�s picture
before he vanishes. He�s pretty quick but not hard to catch if you raise your
camera immediately after he shows you where to go.

After taking the final picture in Rei�s daydream, continue to the back of the
courtyard and open the doors that Yuu walked into to end this vision.

~~~ Foyer ~~~

You will notice a small-gated door to your left. The gate is marked with a
�NOTCHED ARROW� lock. You will have to find the key to unlock this gate,
however, this key cannot be found until much later in the game. Go forwards
down the hall and make sure to pick up the HERBAL MEDICINE in the last drawer
on the right hand side. Ignore the hall leading off to the left side; we�ll be
coming back to this place in just a little bit. Instead, go down the hall to
your right and around the bend.

** DAUGHTER AT DOOR **

As you approach the door that leads into the next room, DAUGHTER AT DOOR will
appear in front of you. She will stay for a couple of seconds, making this an
easy shot. You might have to aim down a little bit to capture her though.

~~~ Hearth Room ~~~

Walk slowly forward, up the small set of stairs towards the fire pit.

** WANDERING MOTHER AND DAUGHTER **

These two will appear as you walk towards the pit in the center of the room.
Make sure to get both of the in the shot. Yet again, another easy picture.

Make a wide circle around the pit until your facing the stairs leading up to
the second floor. Walk slowly towards the stairs.

** SECOND FLOOR WOMAN **

Pull up the viewfinder as you approach the stairs. Walk slowly up the stairs
and aim up until you can see the tops of the stairs. SECOND FLOOR WOMAN will
appear walking from the right to left side of the screen. This shot can be
tricky if you�re too hasty.

Continue walking up the stairs to activate a short cut scene.

                                CUT SCENE

As Rei walks up the stairs, a child�s ghostly hand will push forth a camera.
With the Camera Obscura, you will now be able to hurt those hostile ghosts that
will be giving you a hard time coming up. Along with the Camera itself, you
will also get some files on how to use the Camera.

Save your game at the first save point at the blue lantern after the cut scene.

Want to get a tricky ghost? Then return to the Foyer.

~~~ Foyer ~~~

Return to the Foyer and take the second path off to the side that we by passed
previously.

~~~ Partitioned Room ~~~

** GIRL IN STUDY **

This ghost will walk by the window that is on your immediate right hand side,
from left to right, ending at a lamp that�s on the floor in the room beyond the
lattice. To make a successful capture, you will need to run quickly towards the
little window on the right side of the room. As soon as you�re directly in
front of the window, raise the camera and take the shot! She will disappear
rather quickly making this a hard shot. Sometimes, you�ll have to maneuver the
camera using the right analog stick to get the proper facing. Luckily, we just
saved the game so if you miss her you can always try again.

All right, let�s go back to the Hearth Room and back up those stairs.

~~~ Hearth Room ~~~

If you explore this room a little more, you will notice a ladder leading up to
a door on the right side of the room. This door has a �BELLFLOWER� lock. We
will be finding the key for this door later. The other door on the main floor
is locked, so the only way to go is up. Return to the second floor where you
found the camera. You can save the game if you want and when you�re ready,
proceed into the next room using the door on the left.

~~~ Corridor ~~~

Well, there seems to be a strange chime sound coming from this area so let�s
investigate. It doesn�t matter which side of the hall you walk down, either way
you will find yourself confronting a peephole. As you look through the peep
hole...

** IMPALING GIRL **

Raise your camera when you are �peeping� and take a shot of the girl who is
impaling something to the walls directly in front of you.

** SECOND PLAYTHROUGH + � PEEPING GIRL **

If this is your second play through or more, quickly raise your camera and aim
directly at the IMPLAING GIRL but don�t take her picture right away. After a
few seconds the PEEPING GIRL will appear directly in front of your camera
(she�s hard to miss) and since your already aimed just take the shot! Feel free
to take the picture of the IMPLAING GIRL afterwards since she�ll stay there
longer.

When you�re done with your peeping tom actions, walk down the hall to your
right and you will notice...

** CROUCHING WOMAN **

There is a woman crouching in the corner on the other side of the lattice. She
will not move until you take your shot, so this is another easy picture. This
woman will leave you an unusual picture that you will be able to develop in the
dark room of Rei�s house when you wake up from you dream.

When you walk back to exit this room and pass the bars to your right...

** LATTICE WOMAN **

When you see the bars to your right as you start to leave the room, raise your
viewfinder and inch your way to the left while facing the bars. The LATTICE
WOMAN will appear walking down the hallway. She�ll disappear after a few
seconds so make sure to capture her!

~~~ Hearth Room ~~~

Before you turn to walk down the stairs into the main part of the room, raise
your camera...

** MOTHER DOWNSTAIRS AND DAUGHTER DOWNSTAIRS **

It�s easier to take their picture when you already have your camera in the
viewfinder mode. Raise your camera and start walking down the stairs. Aim down
a little bit and when you reach about the halfway point in the stairs they will
appear in front of you at the foot of the stairs. Easy!

You might want to head back up the stairs and save your game, as your first
ghost battle will be coming up very soon.
When you�re ready for the battle, try to open the door that leads back to the
Foyer.

~~ GHOST BATTLE � WANDERING MOTHER AND DAUGHTER ~~
   Recommended film: Type 14

All right, your first battle! After a short cut scene the battle will start.
You�ll have plenty of space to move around here in the Hearth Room so don�t
worry about that. What you might want to worry about it WANDERING MOTHERS
constant teleporting, which can be very frustrating. First of all, you�re
better off not staying in finder mode for the entire battle, as she constantly
moves you could lose track of her easily and take damage. Instead, put down the
camera and wait for her to stop teleporting and come straight for you. When she
begins to walk towards you, raise your camera and position it over her face to
build your charge. Her shutter chance (or fatal frame for those of you who�s
second play through this is) comes when she reaches out with her arms
outstretched and her mouth wide open. Take you shot then and you should send
her flying back.

After your first victory, let�s head back to the Foyer.

~~ Foyer ~~

As you walk down the hall, stop when you reach the first bend to the right.
Continue to walk slowly forward and you should see...

** CROUCHING WOMAN **

There�s a pair of legs coming from the left side of the screen. Simply raise
your camera and take the shot. These legs will not disappear but make sure not
the get to close or you will initiate a cut scene ending this dream.

                                CUT SCENE

As Rei walks towards the legs, she sees a woman who is muttering to herself,
saying things like, �It�s not my fault I survived...� When Rei tried to comfort
the woman by reaching out to her, the woman freaked out and sprinted to another
part of the hall. Suddenly, the woman stopped speaking and could only stare
down the hall. Rei turned to see a woman with long hair, what looked like a
blue skirt, no shirt, and a mysterious tattoo covering her body. As the woman
with the tattoo came closer, the woman on the ground began showing signs of a
snake like tattoo appearing on her skin. She screamed out in fear and ran down
into another part of the manor. Rei turned to confront the woman approaching
her, but when she pointed her flashlight down the hall, no woman was standing
there. Suddenly, the tattooed woman appeared right in front of Rei from out of
the darkness. The screen turns monochrome as Rei finds herself running down the
hall trying to flee from the tattooed woman. The tattooed woman tries to grab
at Rei, but Rei continued to weave in and out of her reach. Just as Rei thought
she would escape, the woman reached out her hand and was just barely able to
touch Rei�s back with her fingertips. The tattooed woman cried out, �Let me
sleep...Forever.� Rei pushed her way through the double doors in the back of
the manor and escaped the dream.

Rei woke up sweating and gasping for air, then she clutched at her shoulder and
a snake like bruise appeared right where the tattooed woman in her dream
touched her. Miku knocked on the door and asked Rei if she was ok and claimed
that Rei must have been having another one of her nightmares. Apparently, Rei
had been having nightmares ever since the death of Yuu. Rei told Miku that she
was ok but when Miku left she again touched her back wondering what had just
happened.

~~ Rei�s Room ~~

You�ll start out awake and in Rei�s room, it�s pretty cozy and has a lot of
interesting things for you to examine. When you are done looking around open
the door and walk down the stairs.

~~ Living Room ~~

In the living room, Miku stands waiting to talk to you. She�ll give you a
LETTER FROM KEI 1. Take your time and get used to Rei�s house by exploring on
your own and when your ready head back upstairs and enter the door in the
center of the hall; Yuu�s room.

~~ Yuu�s Room ~~

After a small cut scene, check Yuu�s desk and pick up THE URBAN LEGEND. The
notebook contains a newspaper clipping of a SERIES OF VANISHINGS ACROSS REGION.
Then check out the shelf next to Yuu�s bed for the LETTER FROM KEI 2 and the
CAMERA OBSCURA along with some MUSTY FILM. Let�s go now to develop that film in
the dark room!

~~ Dark Room ~~

You will be coming back here a lot during the game to develop the numerous
photos you�ll take in your dreams. Developing this photo now will reveal that
woman you took the photo of earlier.

~~ Living Room ~~

Talk to Miku and she will take the photo you just developed and go do research
on it. Thanks Miku!

~~ Rei�s Room ~~

When you go back to Rei�s room, you�ll now have the option to save your game by
checking the old camera obscura, which is on the desk next to the Rei�s bed.
The other option you now have is that you can check the bed to re-enter the
dream world. So save your game at the camera and than check the bed to go back
to the Manor of Sleep.

First of all, switch your film type to Type 7 film. This way you won�t waste
any of your precious higher-powered film on taking pictures of random ghosts.
You are now allowed to leave the Dream Manor at anytime during the game simply
by passing through the door in the back of the Foyer

** ESCAPING WOMAN **

This ghost is much easier to capture when you�re already in viewfinder mode.
Switch to your viewfinder and begin walking down the hall towards the
intersection. The ESCAPING WOMAN will run from the right side of the screen
towards the door around the corner on your left.

Ready for a hard ghost picture? Then proceed into the Hearth room.

~~ Hearth Room ~~

** DOWNSTAIRS DAUGHTER **

This ghost freaking sucks! Here�s some preparation. First of all, the ghost
will appear as you�re walking up the stairs underneath the stair boards. You
will have to take this picture at just the right angle. Be warned that you
might have to load from the last place you saved if you want to acquire all the
ghost pictures. Unfortunately, you will not be able to stay in finder mode
while trying to catch this ghost, so just wait until the screen gets a little
fuzzy and you�re indicated that the ghost appeared. Begin WALKING up the
stairs, taking each stair step by step. As soon as the ghost appears,
IMMEDIATELY switch to the viewfinder mode and aim down towards the boards.
While still aiming, move backwards down the stairs while still facing the
boards. This ghost will only stay for a few seconds, so you must switch to
finder mode, move backwards while aiming, and shoot the picture all in a very
short amount of time. If you move to slow, you�ll miss the shot and if you move
to fast the blue circle will move right over her. This ghost might take some
practice to capture, but trust me it�s worth it in the end.

Once you�ve managed to take the DOWNSTAIRS DAUGHTER�S photo, move upstairs and
save your game, you don�t want to capture this ghost all over again do you?!
Underneath the stairs, where the girl was standing is an Herbal Medicine. Once
you approach the barrel a battle starts! (Note: if you can grab the Medicine
before the battle starts you�ll have another healing item!)

~~ GHOST BATTLE � WANDERING DAUGHTER ~~
Recommended Film: Type 14

Like her mother, the wandering daughter likes to teleport, but since she�s
smaller she can be harder to find. Again, your better off not staying in finder
mode for the entire battle, as she constantly moves you could lose track of her
easily and take damage. Instead, put down the camera and wait for her to stop
teleporting and come straight for you. When she begins to walk towards you,
position the camera down towards the ground, since she�s shorter than her mom,
and begin building your charge. Her main attack is when she�s suddenly
teleports towards you and tries to grab you; this is her shutter chance (or
fatal frame for those of you who�s second play through this is.) Her other
attack is where she�ll sit down on the floor and begin crying. This attack,
while it doesn�t cause you any direct damage, makes the room dark. This attack
allows the WANDERING DAUGHTER to take pot shots at you while you walk around in
the dark, hardly able to see where you�re going. Use Type 14 film to take her
out easy.

When you�ve won this battle, you may want to save your game again because we
have another hard to catch ghost coming up! After you save your game, head back
into the Foyer.

~~ Foyer ~~

Remember the direction in which the ESCAPING WOMAN ran? Well, we�re going to
follow her, so go through the door leading into the Partitioned Room.

~~ Partitioned Room ~~

Work your way around the room, making sure to grab the Type 14 film behind the
chest. You might have to switch camera angles to see actually where it is
though. Through the door at the other end is a HARD ghost to catch so if you
didn�t save your game before, you might want to do so before walking through
the door.

~~ Stairs Hallway 1F ~~

** SCREAMING WOMAN **

The instant you open the door you�re under a time crunch to get to the base of
the stairs that are in front of you and a little towards the right, take your
camera out, aim up and shoot. This ghost doesn�t stay very long so you must be
very quick! Lucky, we�ve just saved so if you�re having problems, you can
always reload from the hearth room. This shot can be taken more easily if
you�ve upgraded your range.

After you�ve taken this photo, walk around the left side of the stairs and you
will see a save lantern! So save your game and start back towards the stairs
for another ghost picture.

** WOMAN IN CORNER **

When you get to the base of the stairs, equip the camera and aim straight
ahead. Walk slowly up the stairs (still aiming straight ahead) and the WOMAN IN
CORNER will run from right to left across the back of the room. Easy!

~~ Stairs Hallway 2F ~~

Walk towards the door in the back, where we just saw the WOMAN IN CORNER run
towards. As you draw closer you will notice the wall start to shimmer a blue
color. Take a photo of the door and look at the clue the picture shows. Looks
like there�s something underneath the stairs doesn�t it?

As you walk back down the hall, you�ll see some stairs leading up to another
floor. If you go up these middle stairs, there�s some Type 61 film towards the
back of the room atop a box.

Once you�re done here, go down the stairs on the opposite side of the room.

~~ Stairs Hallway 1F ~~

Once downstairs, make sure to grab the equipment ALARM with file, off of the
shelf. Now you can start collecting Fatal Frames off the ghosts you shoot!

** MAN STOPPED DEAD **

The MAN STOPPED DEAD is standing in the storage area directly in front of you.
This ghost will not move until you take his photo. So simply raise your camera
and shoot!
You�ll notice a small door on your right hand side with the �Four-Point Well�
design engraved on it. You can hear some moans coming from the other side of
this door. Make sure to check the door for an entry in your Notes. However, at
this time the door is locked. So let�s go back up the stairs!

~~ Stairs Hallway 1F ~~

As you walk towards the stairs that you first came up you�ll enter a battle.

~~ GHOST BATTLE - WANDERING MOTHER ~~
Recommended Film: Type 14

Use the same technique you used when fighting this ghost in the Hearth Room.
Remember, her fatal frame occurs when she has her arms outstretched and her
mouth wide open.

When you�re done with this easy battle, head back downstairs and save your
game. After you�ve done that, head towards the door that was once shimmering
blue.

~~ Corridor ~~

Walk down the hall. When you reach the end of the hall, go into the room on
your left and...

** CROUCHING WOMAN **

Again, another easy photo. This ghost is sitting on the floor against the wall.

When you�ve taken the picture, walk into the room.

~~ Room with Blind ~~

Walk to the left into the room with the bed. You can pick up some Type 61 Film
off of the middle shelf. When you�re done, walk towards the woman and try to
talk with her. You�ll get a BURNT PASSPORT and a new entry in your notes. When
you�re done talking to the woman, walk away from her to end this dream.

~~ Rei�s Room ~~

First of all, save your game at the camera. After that, head downstairs.

~~ Living Room ~~

Check the kitchen counter for a note left by Miku. Walk towards the door
leading into the back and the phone will start ringing. Answer the phone and
Miku will tell you about the woman we�ve been chasing through the Manor.

Save your game in Rei�s Room, and then check the bed to fall asleep and enter
the Manor of Sleep again.

Walk down the hall into the Hearth Room.

Make sure to grab the nightly HERBAL MEDICINE from the barrel underneath the
stairs. Walk up the stairs and go into the Corridor.

~~ Corridor ~~

** TORMENTED WOMAN and ENCIRCLING SHADOW **

Notice on the other side of the door the woman we�ve been following is now
sitting on the floor behind the lattice but now has a dark shadow figure
looming around her. Just take both their photos. You can get both in the same
picture.

Now leave this room and walk into the Partitioned room. You can get there from
going back through the Hearth room, then the Foyer.

~~ Partitioned Room ~~

Make sure to pick up the nightly Type 14 film from behind the chest like you�ve
done before and go through the door leading into the stairs hallway.

~~ Stairs Hallway 1F ~~

Save your game here before walking up the stairs. Once you reached the top of
the stairs you�ll see...

** BENDING SHADOW X3 **

You�ll see three dark shadows walking from the right to the left. They�re
walking towards the door leading to the room with blind. They move slowly, so
simply just take their picture as they walk by.

When you�re taken their pictures, follow them into the Corridor.

~~ Corridor ~~

A cut scene will occur when you walk towards the Room with Blind. After the cut
scene a battle will start.

~~ GHOST BATTLE � BLACK SHADOWS X (?) & FEMALE SURVIVOR ~~
Recommended Film: Type 7 and Type 14

This battle is in two parts. In the beginning of the battle you will face those
dark shadows that are hanging around the woman. These ghosts will walk towards
you from the woman. Your best bet is to stay near the opening on the room so
that you�ll always be able to see the shadows without worrying if they�ll back
attack you. Each time you repel (defeat) a shadow, they will return to the
woman and start walking towards you again.
Their main attack is when they start to bend backwards, although if you�re
quick with getting the Fatal Frames on them, you should never see their attack.
Type 7 Film is all you really need for them, although if you�re feeling un-sure
you can use Type 14.
Once you�ve killed off enough shadows, the second part of the battle begins.
This time the woman we�ve been following now decides to come after you. She
attacks very similar to the WANDERING MOTHER, in that her Fatal Frame comes
when she�s walking towards you with her arms out stretched and her mouth wide
open. She�s very easy to combo shot; so take advantage of this to really
increase your spirit points!

After this battle the dream will end.

~~ Rei�s Room ~~

Save your game by the bed and walk downstairs.

~~ Living Room ~~

When you talk to Miku, she will give you YOSHINO TAKIGAWA�S DIARY and a photo
of YOSHINO TAKIGAWA.

~~ Rei�s Room ~~

Make sure to save your game because we�re going to do some ghost hunting! (This
is optional since this ghost does not appear in your ghost list. However you
might want to take the shot just for spirit points.)
Walk into the dark room; make sure the doors closed, and then walk right back
out. As you�re walking back to the living room, standing in the Alter room is a
dark shadow! You�ll have to turn slightly right to catch this ghost. If you�re
having trouble, try running from the dark room and quickly spin around as this
ghost only lasts for a short time. When you take its photo you�ll get an extra
500 points!

As you start back towards Rei�s room...

** SECOND PLAYTHROUGH � CLOSET CHILD **

You�ll hear crying as soon as you enter Rei�s room. If you can make it to the
save camera, do so since this ghost disappears very quickly! Once you open the
closet door, you�ll have a split second to raise you�re camera and take a shot.
Don�t even bother trying to aim, as she�ll be directly in front of you.

When you�re done, save your game and fall back asleep.

~~ Room with Blind ~~

You start off the night where you ended it, so pick up the FOUR-POINT WELL KEY
in the area of to the side. Remember the small door in the stairs hallway with
the moaning? That�s where we�re headed. The instant you step out into the
Corridor...

~~ GHOST BATTLE � FEMALE SURVIVOR ~~
Recommended Film: Type 61

To make quick of this battle, put Type 61 film on right away. With this film,
you�ll only need to hit her roughly two times with a Fatal Frame and about
three without. However, be careful of the Black Shadows, because as long as the
FEMALE SURVIVOR is alive they will keep reappearing.

When you leave you leave the room you�ll hear spooky noises coming from the
room.

~~ Stairs Hallway ~~

Save your game first, and then if you want to, go back through the Partitioned
Room to grab the nightly Type 14 Film and the nightly Herbal Medicine from the
Hearth Room. Begin walking up the middle stair case that leads to the third
floor storage room and...

** MAN UPSTAIRS **

The MAN UPSTAIRS will appear at the top of the staircase, simply pull out your
camera and shoot.

Once you�ve taken his picture, proceed down the stairs to the 1F Stairs Hallway
and use the Four-Point Well Key on the small door that we heard moans coming
from earlier.

~~Stained Corridor ~~

Walk around to the right side of the screen to see a hand sticking out of the
wall. Take its picture then continue around to the left side of the corridor
and enter the door there.

~~ Grave Courtyard ~~

The first thing you�ll notice is the bluish grave stone glowing on your right.
Snap it�s picture and then turn around to face the door you just came through.
Collect the SACRED WATER from the left hand side next to the well. Want a scary
encounter? Then approach the well.

** LURKING WOMAN **

Once you�re directly in front of the well switch to your viewfinder mode and
peer down the well. The LURKING WOMAN will shoot up out of the well at top
speed so make sure to catch her before she disappears. She�s not that hard to
catch but she does move rather fast if your not expecting it.

Approach the double doors in the back of the Grave Courtyard to find them
locked with a Two-Mandarin key image. Since we don�t have the key for this
door, go back to the Stained Corridor.

~~ Stained Corridor ~~

Open the small door at the end of this Corridor. First of all make sure to grab
the HERBAL MEDICINE off of the floor and walk down the stairs. Check the end of
the passage to notice a low area that only a small person can seem to crawl
through. Since you�re too big lets return now to the Stairs Hallway, but
remember this place for later. One your way back to the Hallway, you�ll be
attacked by two MEN IN WHITE.

~~ GHOST BATTLE � MEN IN WHITE X2 ~~
Recommended Film: Type 14

This corridor is very narrow and not a good place to be fighting, nonetheless
we must take these guys down! Make sure to try and keep these two in your
viewfinder at all times. They will quite often disappear into the walls so as
long as you know where they are you�ll be safe. Their Fatal Frame chance is
when they lunge towards you and try to grab you. The only thing that makes this
fight hard is the fact there�s two of them in a small space.

Once you�ve defeated the second Man in White, he will drop a SLEEPING STONE.
Pick up the stone and head through the door back to the Stairs Hallway.

~~ Stairs Hallway ~~

Go up the middle staircase to the 3F Storage Room where the MAN UPSTAIRS
appeared.

~~ 3F Storage Room ~~

** ESCAPING MAN **

Enter the viewfinder before heading up the stairs. Once at the top, the
ESCAPING MAN will run out the door in the back of the room. Snap his picture
quick!

Well let�s follow that man! Walk up to the door he just fled out of to find a
puzzle of sorts. Insert the SLEEPING STONE to start the puzzle. The object of
the puzzle is to move the different stones around the board until each one has
a diamond shape in the middle. To begin, move the stone with one notch (bottom
right stone) to the left one time. Next, move the stone with two notches (top
right stone) down two spaces. Finally, move the stone with three notches (top
left stone) down one space, then move it two spaces to the right. When you�re
finished the door will unlock then go through the door.

~~ Grave Courtyard Roof ~~

!! SECRET GHOST #5 � INVERTED WOMAN !!

Walk over towards the left side and watch your indicator turn blue. Once the
filament is blue, enter the viewfinder and peer to your right hand side across
gap, and take a picture of your first secret ghost. The ghost will not
disappear until you take the picture so don�t worry about missing it.

Once you�ve taken the picture walk on over to the little door on the right side
and go through it.

~~ Attic Room ~~

Walk towards the back of the room and pick up the TWO MANDARINS KEY and the
equipment EVADE with file. With your newly acquired evade function; you can now
dodge ghosts by flashing them (that sounds dirty) with your camera�s flash.

~~ GHOST BATLLE � MAN IN WHITE ~~
Recommended File: Type 14

How did he know you had a new function waiting to be tested? Anyways, load up
on Type 14 Film and give the man a couple shots when he looming in to grab you.

After the battle is over, try and examine the door in the back of the room. Rei
will make a comment that there�s a joint in the floorboards that is being held
by something. Well since you can�t do anything else here, you might as well
leave.

~~ Grave Courtyard Roof ~~

While walking across the roof make sure to look down to see a ghost walking
towards the double doors with the TWO MANDRAIN symbol on it. The ghost is
showing you where you need to go next. Taking a picture of this ghost results
in no ghost points and does not count towards your spirit list. Well, head back
towards the storage room.

~~ 3F Storage Room ~~

Go back to the Stained Corridor by taking the back staircase.

~~ Stained Corridor ~~

Walk through this place and make your way back into the Grave Courtyard.

~~ Grave Courtyard ~~

When you start walking towards the door with the TWO MANDARIN symbol...

~~ GHOST BATTLE � MAN IN WHITE ~~

Gosh, this guy just won�t leave you alone! Teach the man a lesson by blasting
him with your type 14 Film. You�ll be wishing for these easy battles later
though.

After the battle, use the TWO MANDARIN KEY in the double doors and end this
dream.

~~ Rei�s Room ~~

After waking up, Rei will notice that there�s some MUSTY FILM in the camera
obsucra next to her bed. Take the film and exit her room.

~~ Living Room ~~

You�ll hear the phone ring as soon as you step out of Rei�s room. Well, the
phone will have to wait since we have pictures to develop! Make your way to the
dark room.

~~ Dark Room ~~

After developing those pictures head back to the living room and answer that
darn phone.

~~ Living Room ~~

Answer the phone here and listen to Miku�s words of wisdom. She wants you to
check out her room, so head back upstairs and enter the first door on your
right. (Side note: until now Miku�s room has been locked if you tried to open
the door.)

~~ Miku�s Room ~~

You�ll notice, on Miku�s desk some papers namely the file on YSHINO TAKIGAWA
and the newspaper article PATIENT DISSAPPEARS. Also, Rei will flip over the
picture of MIKU WITH MAN, which was lying face down on the desk.

~~ Rei�s Room ~~

Since we�ve developed the pictures from earlier, exit Rei�s room and walk
downstairs and give those photos to Miku who will then go and do some research
on them.

~~ Yuu�s Room ~~

After you�ve given the photos to Miuk for research, head to Yuu�s room and
check his bookshelf for a book on OCCULTISM.

~~ Rei�s Room ~~

After you�ve grabbed the book of Yuu�s bed, and have given the pictures to
Miku, save your game and fall asleep.

We start this night off right where we left, after opening the double doors in
the back of the Grave Courtyard. But we�re not going to explore this area yet,
as there are lots vanishing ghosts that need to be caught! So turn your little
butt around and head back out the double doors and re-renter the Grave
Courtyard.

~~ Grave Courtyard ~~

IMPORTANT!!!!!!!!

DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT take the picture of the ghost standing behind the
gravestones. If you do, another ghost will not even make it�s appearance and
since you want your ghost list maxed out you�ll need that ghost. Don�t worry
about the ghost behind the graves, it�ll wait for you to come back and take its
photo.

Continue on to the Stained Corridor.

~~ Stained Corridor ~~

Go through the small door on the right side and pick up the nightly HERBAL
MEDICINE from the floor, and then you can leave. Take the door leading to the
Stairs Hallway.

~~ Stairs Hallway 1F ~~

Walk slowly towards the back of the storage area below the stairs...

** WANDERING MOTHER **

IMPORTANT!!!!!!!!!

This ghost will not appear if you took the picture of the ghost behind the
graves in the Grave Courtyard.
The WANDERING MOTHER will appear right behind as you walk to the back of the
room. Turn quickly and take her picture. An easy way would be to just enter
finder mode and walk backwards keeping the small door on your right hand side
and snap her when she appears.

After you take her picture, return to the Grave Courtyard to get the picture of
the ghost we bypassed before.

~~ Grave Courtyard ~~

** HIDING DAUGHTER **

This ghost is hiding behind the graves and will not disappear until after you
take her picture. So just aim your camera and snap her!

After taking this picture, head back once more to the Stairs Hallway.

~~ Stairs Hallway ~~

Walk up the middle staircase to the 3f Storage Room.

~~ 3F Storage Room ~~

** HIDING DAUGHTER **

This hiding daughter counts as a separate entry in your ghost list. Once again,
this ghost will not disappear until after you take her picture. She�s hiding
along the railing to your left as you come up the stairs.

After taking this picture, save your game in the Stairs Hallway and continue on
to the Partitioned Room.

~~ Partitioned Room ~~

As usual, make sure to pick up the nightly Type 14 Film from behind the chest.

** WAITING MOTHER **

This ghost will appear as you walk through the room at about the half waypoint.
She�ll stand there for a couple seconds making this shot an easy one.

After you�ve taken her picture, you�ll notice that there�s a shiny item where
she was just standing. Pick it up to receive an undeveloped photo. Make your
way to the Hearth Room.

~~ Foyer ~~

On the way to the Hearth Room...

** WANDERING MOTHER **

The WANDERING MOTHER will appear at the intersection leading to the Hearth
Room. Another easy picture, just raise and shoot.

Continue on your way to the Hearth Room.

~~ Hearth Room ~~

As usual, make sure to pick up the nightly HERBAL MEDICINE from underneath the
stairs. Go up the stairs for another ghost shot.

** HIDING DAUGHTER **

Again, this hiding daughter entry is separate from the other two you�ve
previously taken. This time, she�s hiding behind the cloth where you found the
camera obscura in the beginning of the game. Simply take her picture.

After you�ve taken this picture, you�ll notice a shiny spot where the daughter
was hiding. When you pick up the shiny object you�ll discover it�s a SCRAP OF
PAPER. However, after picking up the note...

~~ GHOST BATTLE � WANDERING DAUGHTER ~~
Recommended Film: Type 14

Apparently, she doesn�t like you picking up her personal notes, whatever lets
battle! Use the same tactic as before and give her a taste of your camera. You
could really get away with using type 7 film, but since she constantly
teleports, type 14 makes this battle much faster.

After the battle, make sure to save your game here since we collected a ton of
pictures. When you�re done saving make your way back to the Partitioned Room
via the Foyer.

~~ Partitioned Room ~~

~~ GHOST BATTLE � WANDERING MOTHER ~~
Recommended Film: Type 7

Well, it seems like she�s pretty angry with you for just finishing off her
daughter so lets go teach mom a lesson. The WANDERING MOTHER will appear in the
same spot you took her photo at. Again, use the same tactics as before and use
Type 7 to conserve your higher film for another battle. She�s easy to Fatal
Frame, but if you�re having problems you can always switch to Type 14.

Once again, after you�ve defeated her, she�ll drop another item. Once again,
it�s a picture that you can develop once you return home. Now that we�re done
hunting these two, we can finally get back to where we started this night. On
your way back to the Round Window Foyer make sure to save your game at the
lantern in the Stairs Hallway.

Return to the Round Window Foyer by going through the Stairs Hallway, Stained
Corridor, and Grave Courtyard and open the double doors at the end.

~~ Round Window Foyer ~~

Walk straight ahead down the candle lit hallway.

~~ Bell Hallway ~~

~~ GHOST BATTLE - MAN IN WHITE ~~
Recommended Film: Type 14

Once you�ve reached the intersection a MAN IN WHITE will attack you from the
right hand side. This particular MAN IN WHITE is tougher than his pervious
friends so Type 14 film is recommended. You�ll notice one big difference from
the other men in white to this one: they now come with weapons. Their Fatal
Frame now occurs after they�ve taken a swing at you. The swing comes at you
pretty quick if your not paying attention. Slowly back away from them while
their swinging and Fatal Frame them when they�re getting ready for the next
swing. All in all not a difficult battle but one you should pay some attention
to.

After defeating him, go down the left hall and enter the door at the end.

~~ Projection Room ~~

You�ll notice that the projector in the middle of the room is glowing blue.
Well do that thing you do and take a picture of the projector and you�ll
receive an undeveloped photo. Ok now here comes a hard capture in my opinion.
Activate the projector and get ready.

** GIRL IN BACK **

A GIRL IN BACK will appear as you watch the film. You�ll have to turn around
very quickly, raise your camera and shoot all in a short amount of time. The
easiest way is to press the down button (default settings) then raise your
camera and the instant you see a blue circle take the shot. Another way,
although this doesn�t seem to work for me, is the instant the girl appears,
switch to the viewfinder and use the L2 button (default settings) to spin
around and take her picture that way. Although the first method has been tried
and proves true for others, and me the second way has not been tried by me so
use method two at your own risk ;)

After you�ve taken this hard shot, pick up the film IMPALEMENT from the
projector. If you want, you can watch the film again at anytime right here at
this projector. Walk towards the projection screen and turn around, you�ll see
a small alcove to your right. Walk behind the curtain and pick up the nightly
Type 14 film.

** SECOND PLAYTHROUGH � BOOK GIRL **

Just aim your camera up at the large pile of books in the back and take her
picture. It�s not that difficult.

Afterwards, go behind the projection screen to another space in the wall and
pick up the FOLKLORE NOTES 1 and a new equipment TRACK with file from off the
bookshelf in the back. Now that you have the TRACK function, finding ghosts in
your viewfinder becomes super easy. Now when you raise your camera, the capture
circle automatically focuses on the ghosts! Now continue on through the door in
the back of the room.

~~ Barred Hallway ~~

While walking down the hallway you�ll notice some bars along the side of the
wall.

** WOMAN PAST BARS **

The tattooed Priestess will walk past the bars on the other side as you walk
near the bars.

Afterwards, go through the alcove in the middle of the hallway and pick up the
HERBAL MEDICINE. Now DON�T MOVE!

** SECRET GHOST #9 � HIDDEN CARPENTERS **

Standing where the HERBAL MEDICINE was enter the Viewfinder mode and position
your camera over the bars and you should see a bluish glow coming from the
ground on the other side.

When you�re done, walk back down the hallway and enter the next area through
the door at the end.

~~ Garden Corridor ~~

Whatever you do, DO NOT go up towards the Tree just yet. First turn to your
left and walk towards the save lantern to save your game. When you try to open
the double doors a short scene will occur.

** GIRL IN BACK **

This girl appears the instant the scene ends so be quick! Turn around and take
her picture since she appears (like the first girl) right behind you. Since
this is a different girl, this picture counts as a different ghost entry in
your spirit list.

After taking her picture, walk around the walkway until you see some steps
leading down towards the tree.

** HALLWAY GIRL **

Raise your camera and take a shot of the HALLWAY GIRL as she appears in the
back doorway.

IMPORTANT!!!!!!!!!

If the HALLAY GIRL appears BEFORE you check the middle doors the GIRL IN BACK
will not appear. That�s why I asked you not the approach the Tree before
checking the doors.

When your ready to continue, take a picture of the blue spot the Tree seems to
be emitting to receive yet another undeveloped picture. To the right of the
steps you�ll notice a STONE MIROR and if you don�t have one already you should
pick this one up! Go through the middle door in the back. (Not the double doors
next to the save point.)

~~ Closet Hallway ~~

Make sure to pick up the Type 61 Film from the box that�s sitting on the shelf.
Also, there�s an upgraded lens, SLOW with file on the shelf. SLOW, when
equipped on your camera, will obviously slow down the ghosts� movements making
them easier to Fatal Frame. The little door is currently locked and has a
DIANTHUS symbol on it.

** 2nd FLOOR WOMAN **

First position yourself in front of the base of the stairs. Next enter the
Viewfinder; now walk up the stairs backwards. The 2nd FLOOR WOMAN will appear
right in front of you on the stairway over. An alternate method is that you
walk up the stairs facing the front and then as soon as you hear the indication
there�s a ghost in the room quickly spin around raise the camera and take the
shoot. The first method, in my opinion, is much easier.

When you get to the top of the stairs, you�ll notice that the door up here is
locked so head back into the Garden Corridor.

~~ Garden Corridor ~~
Remember where the HALLWAY GIRL was? Well, head on over that way.

~~ Garden Hallway ~~

The little door at the end seems to be glowing clue so take a picture of it to
see a photo of HAMMERING GIRLS. Make sure to examine the door for a note! The
door further down this hallway is locked so head back the way you came from.

~~ GHOST BATTLE � HIDDEN FACE MAN ~~
Recommended Film: Type 14

The HIDDEN FACE MAN will start taking swinging at you when you near the end of
this hallway. What did you do to make him so mad? Anyways, the hardest ghost
you�ve fought thus far so equip Type 14 film and have at it! You do not want to
fight him in this hallway, so as soon as he swings run around to the side of
him and get into the Garden Corridor. His Fatal Frame chance is while he�s
swinging his cleaver back and forth. However, he�s a very aggressive ghost and
you might not have the time to wait around for his Fatal Frame for very long so
shutter him whenever you get the chance (after you�ve fully charged up of
course.) This battle shouldn�t take more than a few Fatal Frames and shutter
chances however, as usual if your having trouble with this ghost you can always
switch to a high-powered film.

When the battle is over, head back into the Bell Hallway. First though, make
sure to unlock the middle back doors to unlock another entrance to the Closet
Hallway.

~~ Bell Hallway ~~

Since there�s only one more door that you haven�t gone through, head through it
now. It�s the door on the right hand side in case you�re wondering.

~~ Hall with Tatami ~~

Make sure to grab the Type 61 Film from the right side near the sliding door.

** HAND SUCKED INTO FLOOR **

Ok, this ghost may be hard to see at first. Walk over towards the right side of
the room. There is an opening along the floor, against the wall that is opened
partway. Coming out of the opening is a hand. Don�t get to close to the opening
or the hand will shrink back into the wall leaving you without its picture. The
best place to stand is at the top of the small steps leading down. Other then
that, the hand will not disappear until after you approach it.

Enter the room with the Kimonos and pick up the Type 14 film that�s next to the
doll. If you choose to examine the other doors on the ground floor, you�ll
notice there all locked so you only choice is to head upstairs. The only thing
upstairs is the SCARED WATER inside a chest in the middle of the room.
Afterwards go back downstairs and unlock the double door in the middle at the
back of the room. This door leads you back to the Hearth Room.

~~ Hearth Room ~~

Go up the stairs, save your game and then enter the door leading into the
Corridor.

~~ Corridor ~~
Walk around to the other side of the wall where in the peephole is and take a
look inside.

** IMPALING GIRL **

The IMPALING GIRL will appear right in front of you, so quickly raise your
camera and take the shot.

After you�ve taken her picture, the door back in the Garden hallway will now be
unlocked. Head back to the small door in the Garden Hallway by going through
the Hearth Room and the Hall with Tatami.

~~ Hall with Tatami ~~

Once you entered the Hall, a new ghost will appear.

~~ GHOST BATTLE � WOMAN BRUSHING ~~
Recommended Film: Type 14

This ghost is mostly obnoxious and will be appearing quite frequently
throughout the next few hours so get used to her. First of all, make sure to
fight in an area with as much room as possible, in this instance the middle of
the room. WOMAN BRUSHING likes to teleport so the added space will allow you
not to be ganged up on. Also, since this is a flying ghost, you�ll want to have
the space anyways so she doesn�t come flying out of a wall. She attacks by
suddenly swooping in towards you. She will dive down and then come up like
someone doing the worm as she approaches you. Because of her erratic movements,
it may be hard to catch her at just the right time. Her Fatal Frame occurs,
like the others, when she outstretches her arms and tries to grab you. This
will occur after she swoops down and then up so that you are able to see her
face. Since she likes to teleport a lot, the important thing to remember is if
you can�t see her, exit the viewfinder and find her!

When you�ve defeated her, Return to the Garden Hallway.

~~ Garden Hallway ~~

Walk over to the small door on the left hand side to enter the Doll Alter East.

~~ Doll Alter East ~~

** DOLL ALTER GIRL **

As soon as you enter the altar room, raise your camera and take a shot of one
of the impaling girls standing by the altar.

Afterwards, examine the altar to acquire the BELLFLOWER KEY. However, when you
try to leave this room the girl attacks you!

~~ GHOST BATTLE � PRIESTESS GIRL ~~
Recommended Film: Type 14

This battle isn�t too difficult. The PRIESTESS GIRL will teleport around the
room but for the most part, you will be able to see her clearly in the
viewfinder. If by chance she does teleport, move around and find her, since
this is a small room you don�t want her to grab you from the walls. Her Fatal
Frame chance occurs when she tried to take a swing at you with her stake. This
movement is pretty slow so you shouldn�t have much of a problem.

After you�ve defeated her, she will drop yet another undeveloped photo for you
to develop as well as her GRAY DIARY. After picking these items up, the dream
will end.

~~ Rei�s Room ~~

Make sure to grab the MUSTY FILM from the camera on the side of Rei�s bed.
After that, head down to the living room.

~~ Living Room ~~

Talk to Miku to find out a clue about the song that she�s humming and from
where she might have heard it. This is the same song the Priestess girls have
been singing coincidentally. You�ll get some notes added to your notebook.
Afterwards, enter the Hallway leading to the Dark Room.

~~ Hallway ~~

Before you get to the Dark Room, make a pit stop to acquire the LETTER FROM KEI
3, a PHOTO OF MIO, and the TAPE �MANOR OF SLEEP A� from off the small cabinet
next to the door.

~~ Rei�s Room ~~

Well, its nighttime so lets kick it off right by listening to that TAPE �MANOR
OF SLEEP A� you just picked up by walking over to Rei�s radio at the foot of
her bed. Well it seems you�re not the only one that�s been drawn into the
manor. After listening to the tape, get on down to the Dark Room and develop
those pictures!

~~ Dark Room ~~

Develop all the pictures from the might before and head on up to Miku�s Room.

~~ Miku�s Room ~~

Talk to Miku for a short conversation then check her desk (you may have to exit
and re-enter first) to pick up several files, including BURIED MUMMIES, MANY
BONES FOUND, and the ABANDONED HOUSE file. When you�re done here, check out
Yuu�s room.

~~ Yuu�s Room ~~

There�s a new book to be picked up here as well. Pick up THE SPIRIT WORLD book
from his bookself. You have plenty to read now! So head back to Rei�s room.

~~ Rei�s Room ~~

Save your game and fall back asleep.

** Well as you�ve obviously noticed, you�re not playing as Rei anymore. Please
refer to the sections on Miku to learn how to better control her. Also, you�re
not in the Manor of Sleep but instead are back in Himuro Mansion where Miku�s
story in Fatal Frame originally began. **


~~ Foyer ~~

The first thing you should do, is to save your game after that make sure to
pick up the HERBAL MEDICINE from behind the screens. There are two doors in
this room, and the one on the North end is locked so take the other door.

~~ Rope Hallway ~~

Walk down this hallway and at the end Miku will pick up the camera obscura.
Since the door to the right seems to be locked, go through the door on your
left.

~~ Great Hall ~~

Make sure to pick up the Type 61 film from the side of one of the openings. As
you make your way down through the openings, you�ll come to a door at the end
that has a puzzle, which you can�t solve right now. Make your way back to the
door you used to enter here.

~~ GHOST BATTLE � HIDDEN FACE MAN ~~
Recommended Film: Type 14

The HIDDEN FACE MAN will start charging towards you and taking swings when you
near the door you originally came through. His Fatal Frame chance, once again,
is while he�s swinging his cleaver back and forth. What makes this battle hard
is the annoying Partitions that get in the way, often times blocking your view
of him. Try to keep in your view as best you can to get the most out of your
charged shots. After a few fatal frames, he should go down rather quickly.

After you�ve defeated him, pick up the item he left behind which was the
SIMULACRUM MASK and a SACRED STONE with file. With the SACRED STONE, Kiuk�s
special ability can now be used to slow down the movements of ghosts for a
short period of time. Then, continue on through the door back to the Foyer via
the Rope Hallway.

~~ Foyer ~~

The entrance of the Mansion seems to be glowing blue, so take a picture of the
door to receive a photo. Afterwards, place the SIMULACRUM MASK on the northern
door then go through it.

~~ Preserve Room ~~

~~ GHOST BATTLE � WOMAN BRUSHING ~~
Recommended Film: Type 14
First of all, make sure to fight in an area with as much room as possible, in
this instance the is no good place which makes this battle tough. My only
advice here would be to stay away from the walls as much as possible and fight
her from the center of the room. Once again, her Fatal Frame occurs, like the
others, when she outstretches her arms and tries to grab you. This will occur
after she swoops down and then up so that you are able to see her face.

After defeating her, pick up the TWILIGHT STONE she leaves behind. The go to
the door on the other side of the room to activate a puzzle.

I�m going to try and explain this as best I can so bear with me.
You�ll see 5 sliding stones in an upside down pentagon. The stones are placed
at the top left, top right, middle left, middle right, and center.

Move the stones in this order:
Top right -> center -> middle right -> top left -> middle left -> and finally
the center.

This will unlock the door, so go through to the Confinement Room.

~~ Confinement Room ~~

** GIRL BEYOND BARS **

You�ll first notice there�s a ghost in the room when you see a little ball come
rolling out of the cage. DO NOT APPRAOCH THE CAGE! The ghost will remain in the
cage until you either get too close or take her picture. Since there are a lot
of bars blocking your view of her, you may need to slowly walk around the cage
to get a clear shot.

After taking her picture, enter the cage. One the floor of the cage is laying
her CRIMSON DIARY where the girl was sitting. Pick it up and then exit the cage
and go through the little double doors.

~~ Rope Palace ~~

~~ GHOST BATTLE � ROPE PRIESTESS ~~
Recommended Film: Type 14

After a cut scene, the ROPE PRIESTESS will attack you and she looks pretty
unhappy. Her Fatal Frame chance appears on and off as she floats towards you.
She�s got amazing reach so try to stay far from her. Don�t worry too much about
getting her Fatal Frame and just try to take fully charged shots at her since
her movements are pretty quick.

After defeated her, try and open the back door in this room. Since Miku doesn�t
want to open the door you have no choice but to return to the Foyer via,
confinement room and the preserve room.

~~ Foyer ~~

Try to open the double doors at the front of the room. A priestess girl will
appear behind you and mention something about your older brother. She
apparently wants Miku to follow her, she take her up on her offer and follow
her into the Rope Hallway.

~~ Rope Hallway ~~

** BECKONING GIRL **
As you�re walking down the hallway, the BECKONING GIRL will appear at the end
of the hall. Quickly raise your camera and take the shot. Be careful though,
sometimes the dangling ropes will get in your way and could block the shot.

When you�re ready, walk down to the end of the hall and go through the now
opened door on the right.

~~ Hall with Tatami ~~

** BECKONING GIRL **

The BECKONING GIRL will once again make an appearance for you. This time it�s
while you�re walking down the side hall. She�ll be right in front of you so
just take her picture with no worries.

Don�t follow her just yet as there�s another ghost in this room.

** HAND FROM HOLE **

Yes, you would be correct if you noticed that this is the very same hand that
we took a picture of as Rei. It�s also conveniently in the same spot! Walk over
towards the right side of the room. There is an opening along the floor,
against the wall that is opened partway. Coming out of the opening is a hand.
Don�t get to close to the opening or the hand will shrink back into the wall
leaving you without its picture. Other then that, the hand will not disappear
until after you approach it.

Before you continue to follow the girl, make sure to pick up the Type 14 Film
in the kimono area. All the other doors in this area are locked expect the one
the girl went through, so go through that door!

~~ Blind Room ~~

First of all, pick up the HERBAL MEDICINE from behind the doors on the right
side of the room. Now, go up the stairs and enter the 2nd floor area.

** GIRL AT DOOR **

An easier way to take her picture is to equip the viewfinder before approaching
the stairs. This ghost will appear as you approach the stairs that go down. She
is standing right in front of the door so just take her shot quickly.

BE CAREFUL!!!!

** IMPRISONED WOMAN **

Open the door at the bottom of the stairs but DO NOT GO IN! As soon as you open
the door, enter the viewfinder mode and aim upwards to capture the IMPRISONED
WOMAN that�s in the hanging cage above you.

After you take her picture, enter the room she�s being held captive and this
dream will end.

~~ Rei�s Room ~~

After you�ve saved your game, go downstairs to the living room.

~~ Living Room ~~

Pick up the LETTER FROM KEI 4 off of the kitchen counter. If you look to the
side of the counter next to the phone you might see a person�s legs behind the
cloth. However, if you try to raise your camera and take their photo, they will
disappear. When you�re done here, go upstairs to Yuu�s room.

~~ Yuu�s Room ~~

Check Yuu�s desk drawer for a LETTER FROM KEI 5 and two audio tapes marked Tape
�MANOR OF SLEEP B�, & TAPE �THE SAME DREAM.� Leave here and go see Miku in her
room.

~~ Miku�s Room ~~

Speak to Miku and she�ll give you a PHOTO OF KEI.

~~ Rei�s Room ~~

Since it�s nighttime, why don�t you listen to the two tapes you picked up
earlier? After hearing them make your way downstairs to the alter room.

~~ Alter Room ~~

Make sure to check the closet in the back next to the small alter to receive
the FILM UNKNOWN. After that, go back upstairs and enter Rei�s room once more.

~~ Rei�s Room ~~

Save your game and fall back asleep.

Village where Kei�s nieces, Mio and Mayu, stories in Fatal Frame II originally

~~ Barred Hallway ~~

If you want a free shot at a ghost that is not on your spirit list do the
following. Walk out into the hallway and snap this quick picture of the ghost
that is walking in the distance. This will get you an extra 500 spirit points!
Just don�t follow her or she will come after you and this you can�t kill her,
which would be a bad thing right now.

Moving on, walk down the other end of the hall, away from the ghost too see a
girl run past you. Follow her around the side of the hall and you�ll notice a
flock of crimson butterflies flying around a door with a BUTTERFLY SYMBOL on
it. Head back to the intersection and proceed up the stairs. At the top there
is a closet with a HERBAL MEDICINE in it. Grab the item and enter the room off
to the side here.

~~ Kimono Room ~~

Pick up the PURPLE DIARY 1 that�s lying on the pillow next to the koto. The
door at the top of the stairs is locked. If you inspect the mirror stand,
you�ll see a holy hairpin, however currently it cannot be taken from its spot.
Walk over to the door that�s on the right side behind the kimono�s to see a
door locked with a holy symbol.

** WOMAN BEFORE KOTO **

After checking the door with the holy symbol on it, a woman will appear behind
the screen. Too capture this ghost you must try to get a clear shot of her from
between the kimonos. DO NOT walk around the side of the kimonos before taking
her picture or she will vanish from the koto stand.

After taking her picture, walk around the kimonos and a WOMAN BRUSHING ghost
will out from behind the screen. Since Kei doesn�t have a camera to fight her
with, you�re going have to be sneaky and grab the Holy hairpin and run! The
idea here is the wait until the WOMAN BRUSHING moves off to the side that�s
next to the staircase then quickly run over to the stand pick up the hairpin
and unlock the door on the right side marked with the holy symbol.

~~ Closet Hallway ~~

If for some reason the WOMAN BUSHING spots you she�ll begin to chase after you,
so dash behind the large dresser at the bottom of the stairs until she leaves.
Once she leaves, or when you�re ready continue on into the Garden Corridor by
exiting here via the door down the hall.

~~ Garden Corridor ~~

Once you�re here, make sure to save your game. Afterwards, make your way to the
Barred Hallway that�s on the west side.

~~ Barred Hallway ~~

Pick up the HERBAL MEDICINE that�s on the floor in the center of the room and
exit the hall at the end.

~~ Projector Room ~~

** SECRET GHOST #16 � PROJECTOR WOMAN **

If you take a picture of the projector�s screen, you�ll catch this ghost easy
enough!

After taking this photo, watch the FILM UNKOWN that Rei picked up in her house
before moving on. Remember to pick up the nightly Film Type 14 from the back
storage area. Go through the side door leading to the Bell Hallway.

~~ Bell Hallway ~~

The door leading to the Hall with Tatami is locked right now, so make your way
down the hall towards the double doors. Get ready for a hard to catch ghost.

** MAN IN SCREEN **

Talk about your challenging fellows! This ghost doesn�t make it easy for you to
take his picture. Coming down the hall you�ll notice a slight camera angle
change, and you can almost make out the waist high screen sitting on the floor
to your right. Get a running start, you�ll need it, and run around the left
side of the screen. Quickly raise your camera and snap this ghosts� picture
because he only stays for a few short seconds. This is the only way that I�ve
gotten to work for me. Like I said previously, this ghost is hard, and if your
instant on getting all the ghosts the first time around, the you might be re-
loading from the Garden Corridor quite a few times.

When you start walking to the exit, the tattooed priestess will start walking
towards you from down the bell Hallway. Get behind the screen where the MAN IN
SCREEN just was and hide from her. When she turns around and starts walking
back down the hallway, that�s your chance to dash out from behind the screen to
run past her to the Hall with Tatami on the right side.

~~ Hall with Tatami ~~

As usual, pick up the nightly Type 14 Film from the area with the Kimonos.

** SECRETIVE OLD WOMAN **

Stand next to the stairs leading up to the second floor to that a picture of
the woman doing something...Secretive!

Might as well go upstairs to see what she�s hiding. As you reach the top of the
stairs start to move closer to her. She doesn�t want anyone watching her
apparently and she attacks you! Again, since you have no means to fight her
quickly run down the stairs and exit this room (it doesn�t matter from which
door) and the re-enter. When you re-enter the room the woman will be gone so go
back upstairs to see what she was looking at. Examine the chest she was looking
at to finally get the camera obscura as well as some FOLKLORE NOTES 3 and a
lens upgrade SLOW with file.  When you�re done picking up stuff, go downstairs
and you�ll notice the door past the room with the kimonos at the end of the
hall is glowing. Take a picture of the door and you�ll get a picture of the
mirror stand. This is the same place where you picked up the holy hairpin. Exit
the Hall with Tatami and return now to the room where the WOMAN BRUSHING ghost
attacked you. To get back, go through the Bell Hallway, Projector room, Barred
Hallway, Garden Corridor and save your game there then through the Closet
Hallway and up the stairs.

~~ Kimono Room ~~

** WOMAN BRUSHING **

Take a picture of the WOMAN BRUSHING at the mirror stand and then run!

Seriously, after you take her picture the door in the Hall with Tatami is now
open. She�ll chase you for a bit but once you make it to the bell Hallway
she�ll finally give up. Make your way back to the Hall with Tatami and once
again, save in the Garden Corridor is you want.

~~ GHOST BATTLE � MEN IN WHITE X 2
Recommended Film: Type 14

This battle is only hard since there�s two of them, but if you�ve been upgraded
your camera then this shouldn�t be too much of a problem. Take them out one by
one or if your feeling brave you can try to get both of them in the same shot
for double points! Either way, dispose of these two and get going!
** DISAPPEARING MAN **

As you round the bend leading to the door a man will appear there briefly, so
don�t move or run towards him and take his picture from where you�re standing.

After taking his picture, go through the door that he was standing in front of.

~~ Blind Room ~~

** BLIND ROOM MAN **

This ghost is rather tricky to catch but not impossible! It should be noted
that the man would appear in the middle of the room in the center area. In
order to obtain this picture, you must find a way to take his picture from a
view that isn�t blocked by the curtain. Run to the opposite side of where
you�re currently standing and notice a small space that�s on the left side that
you can just look through to get his picture.

Both doors in this area are sealed off so up those stairs.

~~ Library ~~

Pick up the IMPALEMENT TOME from the first bookcase that�s against the wall.
Then walk further back and pick up THE ENGRAVER TOME off that bookshelf and the
TABOO TOME from the small bookcase in the back on the right hand side. Make
sure to also pick up the film PIERCING OF THE SOUL from the side of the small
bookcase. After getting all these goodies, push aside the bookcase. Examine the
candles on the side of the room to acquire the BUTTERFLY KEY. Climb up the
ladder in the back and open the small door.

~~ Flickering Hallway ~~

** WOMAN IN DARK **

This ghost will appear in the back of the hallway behind you. Walk down the
stairs facing towards the partitions on your right and capture her when she
shows up.

Walk with caution down the side of the hall and carefully pick up the Type 90
Film here. DO NOT approach the door at the end if you don�t want to get into a
battle with a NEEDLE WOMAN. I�ll be posting the battle description when you�ll
actually need to fight her. But for now, grab your film and leave the way you
can in.

~~ Library ~~

When you get to the stairs, a KUZE FAMILY HEAD will come barreling up the
stairs after you. Turn around and run back to the Library and sprint around her
when she gets through the bookcases. Quickly get to the Barred Hallway! Exit
this room and return to the Barred Hallway via the Kimono Room.

~~ Barred Hallway ~~

Use the BUTTERFLY KEY on the door that you saw Mio walking towards earlier.

~~ Storehouse ~~

First of all, pick up the upgraded lens PRESSURE with a file that�s sitting on
the pillow. Move over to the pots that are on the left side of the room and
acquire the STONE MIRRIOR.

!! NON-REACTING GHOST - MIO AMAKURA !!

This is the first time you�ve seen a ghost like this. First of all, your
filament will not react to her. However, she is considered a ghost in your
spirit list so might as well take her picture! Stand in front of the cage and
enter the viewfinder. There will be no blue capture circle but you�ll notice
that if you have the TRACK function equipped the small center circle will
position itself over MIO�s face. Take the shot and then check you�re pictures
in your inventory. If you see MIO AMAKURA underneath the picture you just took,
then you�re good to go. If there is no name, it will not count towards your
spirit list. She will not move from this spot so take as many pictures as you
want or need.

When you�re ready, simply examine the barred cage to wake from this dream.

~~ Rei�s Room ~~

As usual save your game then exit Rei�s room.

~~ Hallway ~~

The camera angle will switch to show you Yuu�s room. Could the hint be any more
obvious?

Well, apparently the game wants you to open Yuu�s closet. So get over there and
check it out!

Save your game once more and head on back to Yuu�s Room.

Open the closet and you�ll be taken to the Attic.

This small space contains a few important things such as the SPIRIT STONE RADIO
and the RADIO TRASMISSIONS file.

During your second play through, stand right in front of the entrance to the
Attic and face the empty wall opening on the left. She�s exactly where she

There�s an optional ghost opportunity here. This picture is possible but
extremely hard.  Yuu will appear VERY briefly walking towards the double doors
to your right. Run very quickly around the corner and take his picture. This
ghost is worth 500 spirit points and does not appear in your ghost list.

Approach the double doors Yuu just walked towards and you�ll notice the
familiar blue glow. Take a shot of the doors to reveal a photo of FOUR SHADOWS.
Save your game and then walk around to the front of the tree.

** MAN AT THE SPIRIT TREE **

When you get to the front of the tree, raise your camera and take a picture of
this guy standing next to the tree on your right side. His photo will be
undeveloped so you�ll have to check it out when you return home.

Go in the Barred Hallway and the Projector Room to pick up the nightly HERBAL
MEDICINE and Type 14 film if you so choose. When you�re ready proceed into the
Closet Hallway.

~~ Closet Hallway ~~

Something about this room looks awfully suspicious! Maybe it�s all the blood,
naw, couldn�t be. Anyways, follow the blood trail.

** MAN IN DRESSER **

This guy is cowering behind the dresser. Simply take his picture.

After you take his photo, pick up the SACRIFICAL PILLARS that he dropped.

If this is your second play through, turn around and walk towards the two
baskets next to the dresser. Enter the viewfinder and direct your camera over
the space in-between the doll and the baskets to receive this picture.

When you�re done, walk up the stairs to the Kimono Room.

~~ GHOST BATTLE � WOMAN BRUSHING ~~
Recommended Film: Type 14

There are two ways to initiate this battle.
Way one: take this ladies� picture.
Way Two: Walk right on up to her.
You�ll notice that the fighting style of this ghost differs slightly from the
other WOMAN BRUSHING. A new attack has been added, the flinging of the hair!
That�s right, when she can�t reach you at close range she�ll rip pieces or her
hair out and start chucking them at you. Now this may sounds comical but this
attack get very annoying. Try to dodge the hair as best you can. This room
stinks to battle in due to the Kimono�s. Run around them the best you can and
take pot shots if you can�t get a Fatal Frame.
Her Fatal Frame occurs, like the others, when she outstretches her arms and
tries to grab you. This will occur after she swoops down and then up so that
you are able to see her face. Another Fatal Frame opportunity occurs right
after she tosses her hair at you, although this one is a bit tricky. Other then
that, she�s the same old ghost you�ve seen before.

Afterwards, exit here and enter the Barred Hallway.

~~ Barred Hallway ~~

When you open the closet door here a MAN IN WHITE will attack.

~~ GHOST BATTLE � MAN IN WHITE ~~
Recommended Film: Type 14

Same old MAN IN WHITE from before. He�s pretty easy so just Fatal Frame him
when you get the chance and keep backing up to avoid his attacks.

Once down the hall, you�ll notice a spot where snow is coming in through a hole
in the roof.

!! SECRET GHOST #10 � CHILD IN THE SNOW !!

Stand right atop the snow pile on the floor and enter the viewfinder. Raise
your camera so that you�re aiming through the hole in the ceiling and take your
shot of this little girl.

Afterwards, continue on to the Bell Hallway.

~~ Bell Hallway ~~

You�ll notice a ghost running past you as you enter this room. Walk over to the
side that he ran towards and try to open the door. Since you can�t get in, walk
back towards the middle of the hallway and a ghost will be seen walking
overhead on a beam.

When you�re done here, return to the Projector Room.

~~ Projector Room ~~

Once here, view the film, SACRIFICAL PILLARS to discover the locations of the
ENGRAVED MEN. After the show is over, return to the Grave Courtyard.

~~ Grave Courtyard ~~

** GIRL ON ROOF **

As you walk across the Grave Courtyard, a girl will appear walking along the
roof above you.

Enter the double doors at the end.

~~ Stained Hallway ~~

If you enter the small door on the right side you can pick up the nightly
HERBAL MEDICINE. However, after you pick it up a MAN IN WHITE will attack.

~~ GHOST BATTLE � MAN IN WHITE ~~

These guys really should just give up. Pound him with some Type 14 film to get
him out of your way. You could really use Type 7 but I like to continue on with
the story and therefore like to defeat these guys ASAP.

As you re-enter the Stained Hallway, you�ll hear some pretty creepy voices. Go
through the other small door, which leads to the Stairs Hallway.

~~ Stairs Hallway ~~

~~ GHOST BATTLE � ENGRAVED MAN ~~
Recommended Film: Type 14 or 61

A new ghost! Huzzah! Errr, anyways this guy will attack you from behind as you
walk along this hall. Try to think of him as a beefed up MAN IN WHITE, which is
all he really is. One thing to watch out for is his longer attack combination.
This shouldn�t be much of a problem, just keep backing up and shoot him when
the Fatal Frame indicator flashes. His Fatal Frame occurs when he swings. You
could easily get away with using Type 14 film, but since his fatal Frame
appears on and off so frequently, you can get away with using some of that Type
61.

After the battle, he will drop the MORIYA TOME 2. Run up the in the back to the
second floor and then back down the stairs on the other side to save your game.
When you�re ready go back up the stairs and enter the Room with Blind.

~~ Room with Blind ~~

** CRASHING WOMAN **

When you enter this room, notice the open closet on the right hand side. Enter
the viewfinder and walk up to it. Focus your aim on the Japanese doll and get
ready to take the picture of the CRASHING WOMAN as she falls from somewhere
above. She�s pretty hard to miss.
Exit this room when you�re done.

~~ Stairs Hallway ~~

Walk downstairs and save your game. Then enter the door leading into the
Partitioned Room.

~~ Partitioned Room ~~

Hey there�s a new camera angle! Now you can finally see a clear view of the
nightly Type 14 film. Continue on in the room until you get to a closed off
area. Move over to the left side of this room and aim your camera at the
shutters until you see the bluish glow. Take this photo to get a picture you
can develop later.

Run down the hall a bit and charge your shot as he comes running after you.
Remember, his Fatal Frame occurs when he swings.

After this battle he will drop the MORIYA TOME 4. Enter the Hearth Room.

~~ Hearth Room ~~

Make sure to pick up the nightly HERBAL MEDICINE from underneath the stairs and
then go up the stairs to save your game. What do you mean you can�t save your
game?! Oh, well I see...so there�s a ghost in the area eh? HOW RUDE! Ok lets go
get this creep that�s not allowing you to save.

Turn around and walk down the stairs until you�re about halfway.

** PEEPING WOMAN **

Enter the viewfinder as you go down the stairs and aim at window. The window is
directly in front of you towards the top on the wall.

However, that ghost wasn�t the one prohibiting you from saving. So enter the
Corridor to see who is. If you really don�t want to fight this ghost then
simply just walk into the Corridor and walk right back out and the save point
should work. But think of the spirit points you�d be missing!

~~ Corridor ~~

~~ GHOST BATTLE � FEMALE SURVIVOR & DARK SHADOWS
Recommended Film: Type 61

As you walk around the left side of the room, this annoying woman and her
shadow gang�ll attack you. Give her a couple good Fatal Frames or charged shots
and continue on.

Afterwards, return to the Hearth Room.

~~ Hearth Room ~~

Now that�s it�s activated, please save your game.
** GIRL ATOP LADDER **

This kid will appear right at the top of the ladder on the right side of the
room. Initiate her appearance by walking towards the ladder. Just aim your
camera straight up.

If you happen to get on the ladder, jump immediately off and you�ll see once
again and Priestess Girl standing above you. You can take her picture if you
want, although this one doesn�t count towards your spirit list.

!! SECRET GHOST #1 � MAKIE KUZUHARA/KOZUE !!
        SECOND PLAYTHROUGH

If you move over to the door that leads into the Hall with Tatami and look in-
between the two columns you�ll have an opportunity to catch this ghost. Aim
your camera towards the Hearth and take her picture.

With your newly acquired BELLFLOWER KEY climb the ladder the girl was standing
atop and enter the door there.

~~ Tatami Loft ~~

** PEEKING GIRL **

Quickly raise your camera and take this ghosts� picture from the left side.

After you�ve taken her photo go stand where she was peeking to do some peeking
of your own.

!! SECRET GHOST #21 � SUMMONED MEN !!

When you take a peek through the spot where the girl just did, you�ll get this
picture. Raise your camera take the shot, aiming just over the beds on the
floor.

When you�ve had enough peeking, make sure to pick up the SLEEPING STONE 3 and
the upgraded lens BLAST with file off of the desk. With the BLAST function you
can now push back the ghosts with greater damage.  Also, make sure to pick up
the Type 90 Film from off the bookcase that�s behind the desk. One more pick up
and that�s the type 14 film from the bottom of the stairs. Since the door at
the bottom is locked, head back up the stairs. Now we have to go all the way
back to the Kimono Room. Yep you heard right the Kimono Room. The best route to
get there is by going out the Tatami Loft, down the ladder in the Hearth Room,
through the Foyer (make sure to take the ghost picture *see below*),
Partitioned Room, Stairs Hallway, Stained Hallway, Grave Courtyard, Round
Window Foyer, Bell Hallway, Closet Hallway and finally go upstairs and you�re
in the Kimono Room. Whew! Make sure to save along the way!

~~ Foyer ~~

** WOMAN IN FLOOR **

On your way to the Kimono Room, make sure to take this picture. As you walk
towards the steps that lead up to the Partitioned Room take note of the grated
area near the floor. She will appear behind the bars at your feet as you pass
by. Raise the camera and aim downwards to catch her.

~~ Kimono Room ~~

All right, there�s a door in this room that�s a little hard to see so follow
you map and walk towards the southeast corner. You should come across a small
door here. Go through it.

~~ Above the Foyer ~~

Walk across the boards until you�re on the beams.

!! SECRET GHOST #7 � REIKA YAKISHIRO !!

When you�re on the beams, move over to the box on your left. Enter finder mode
and aim towards the box opening to catch this secret ghost.

Continue walking on the beams until a battle starts.

~~ GHOST BATTLE � PRIESTESS GIRL ~~
Recommended Film: Type 14

The only thing making this battle hard is that she will constantly fly around
the area making her somewhat difficult to find. Wait for her Fatal Frame, which
comes when she rushes towards you, and take carefully planned shots. After a
few Fatal Frames she�ll go down and you can continue.

Once you�ve defeated her, she will drop the SLEEPING STONE 2. Now, continue
across the beams until you reach the other side. The go across the next beam to
reach a small door with a puzzle lock. This is the same type of sliding block
puzzle we�ve seen before. To open the door, first move the right most stone
down one space and to the left one space. Then move the middle stone to the
right one space. Next, move the bottom left stone up one space and to the right
one space. Move the top stone left one space and down one space. Finally, move
the bottom stone to the left one space. Once you�ve finished this puzzle the
door unlocks so go through it.

~~ Wooden Figure Room ~~

Pick up the film COMMANDMENT from off the floor.

** CEREMONY WOMAN **

Look through the peephole. Enter finder mode and aim your camera down to
capture the CEREMONY WOMAN.

When you�re done, exit this room.

~~ Above the Foyer ~~

Walk back across the beams and go through the door. The goal is to get back to
the Bell Hallway. On your way you can stop in the Garden Corridor and take the
passage to the Projector Room to watch the film you just got if you want.

~~ Bell Hallway ~~

Follow the blood trail to the door. Since it�s now opened go on through!

~~ Hall with Tatami ~~

** GHOST BATTLE � ENGRAVED MAN **
Recommended Film: Type 14

Since you have a lot more room in here make sure to use it! Just battle him
like you�ve been doing making sure to catch his Fatal Frame when he swings.

When you�ve defeated him he will leave behind the MORIYA TOME 1 and the special
ability FLASH with file. Make sure to grab the nightly Type 14 Film in the room
with the Kimonos.

!! SECRET GHOST - #11 � TENGAI NARUNI !!
          SECOND PLAYTHROUGH

As you�re walking towards the hall that goes towards the Rope Hallway your
filament should turn blue. Aim your camera above the wall where the Kimonos are
(the same room as the nightly Type 14 Film) and snap the shot.

When you�re ready, enter the Rope Hallway.

~~ Rope Hallway ~~

~~ SECRET GHOST #22 � BEAM WOMAN !!

Stop in the middle of the hallway and aim your camera directly upwards so that
it�s facing the body bag hanging from the ceiling. You might have to take this
picture from a different side if the capture circle doesn�t turn blue.

Afterwards, continue on down the hall and enter the Foyer of Himuro Mansion if
its your second play through, if not exit this room to your left and I�ll meet
you in the Great Hall.

~~ Himuro Mansion � Foyer ~~

After you�ve saved your game and have picked up the HERBAL MEDICINE from behind
the shutters go straight through the Preserve Room and into the Confinement
Room.

~~ Confinement Room ~~

!! SECRET GHOST #23 � KIZUNA HIMURO !!

Once you�re in the room, walk around to the left side of the cage and stand
right in front of the small table behind the bars. Enter finder mode, and aim
directly at the cushion to take this secret ghosts� photo. Don�t linger here
too long or a Rope Priestess will attack you and this is no place for a battle!

When you�re ready lets head back to the Great Hall, via the Preserve Room,
Foyer, and Rope Hallway.

~~ Great Hall ~~

Walk to the back of the room to reach a door with a puzzle lock. All right this
one is confusing but bear with me.
First, move the middle stone to the right one space and up one space. Second,
move the top left stone to the right one space, down one space, and right one
space. Third, move the middle left stone to the right one space, up one space,
and to the left one space. (This stone replaces the one we just moved.) Then,
move the bottom middle stone up one space and to the left one space. Next, move
the bottom left stone to the right one space and up two spaces. Finally, move
the bottom right stone to the left two spaces. This will open the door so go on
through!

~~ Futon Room ~~

~~ GHOST BATTLE � ENGRAVED MAN & MEN IN WHITE X2 ~~
Recommended Film: Type 14

 Well we certainly have our hands full here with three hostile ghosts! Your
best bet, although rather tricky, is to get all three ghosts in one picture and
blast them with a charged shot. Now if you can�t do this that�s perfectly fine,
instead take them out one at a time starting with those two annoying MEN IN
WHITE. The ENGRAVED MAN is not much by himself but with all three of them
swinging at the same time it can be a rather long battle. But just keep at it
and take them down.

After you�ve defeated the ENGRAVED MAN he will drop the final MORIYA TOME 3.
Don�t forget to pick up the SCARED WATER from the middle drawers from the side
of the room. Make your way back to the Garden Corridor.

~~ Garden Corridor ~~

Make sure to save your game and then go through the double doors, which are now
mysteriously opened. This will end your dream.

~~ Rei�s Room ~~

Grab the film from out of the camera and exit the room then go downstairs.

~~ Living Room ~~

Answer the phone once you�re here. After the conversation, head up the stairs
back to your room and save your game as we have a optional hard ghost to
capture for those who want it. After saving head back downstairs and head
through the Living Room into the Hallway.

~~ Hallway ~~

If you walk by the bathroom, is becomes clear that something is a foot! When
you walk inside the bathroom to see what�s going on a ghost walks past you. The
only bad part about taking this shot is the fact that you have to take it
blindly. When you see the ghost in the mirror, enter finder mode quickly and
pull a 180 (if Rei doesn�t automatically spin) and carefully watch the little x
in the middle of the capture circle. When you see them following something
(this is very brief) then take you shot. It all happens very fast so if your
set on getting this ghost, we did just save so you can re-load all you want. If
you catch this ghost its worth 500 Points.

There�s another ghost a REAL ghost that does in fact count for spirit points
inside the Dark Room. So proceed there with caution.

~~ Dark Room ~~

** WOMAN AT FEET **

The very instant you get into the Dark Room run all the way to the back. While
running you�ll notice the on screen camera will switch angles allowing you to
see the ghost. Well if it isn�t YOSHINO! Anyways, when you reach her enter the
finder mode and aim down to your right to catch her.

Before leaving, develop those pictures you took the night before. When you�re
done leave this room and go back upstairs.

~~ Rei�s Room ~~

Save your game and fall back asleep.

First of all, you�ll notice the familiar blue glow coming from the candles so
take a picture! Then check the altar to receive an extra note. Walk until the
camera angle changes views so that you can see the cage above you.

          SECOND PLAYTHROUGH

Move over to the right hand side of the room and then turn around to face the
cage that�s in the middle. Enter the finder mode and aim upwards towards the
upper corner of the cage and capture this secret ghost.

When you�re done, exit this room though the only door.

~~ Blind Room ~~

** GIRL IN THE BLIND **

When you reach the top of the stairs, enter the finder mode quickly and aim
your camera towards the right side of the blind to catch her.

Make sure to pick up the nightly HERBAL MEDICINE from behind the folding doors.
Exit this room to the Hall with Tatami.

~~ Hall with Tatami ~~

Make sure to pick up the nightly Type 14 Film in the room with the Kimonos.
Continue on through the room and once you�ve reached the center portion, Miku
will hear a lullaby. To find out where it�s coming from, walk over to the
opening in the floor where you took the pictures of the hand. Now enter the
opening to one of the scariest places in the game.

~~ Under the Floor � Crawling ~~

Make sure to pick up the special ability DOUBLE with file from off the ground.
If you hold down the square button you�ll move twice as fast while under the
floor. Continue moving under the floor until you near the exit and start a
battle.

** GHOST BATTLE � CRAWLING WOMAN **

I seriously hate this ghost. All right, here�s the low down. The CRAWLING WOMAN
will move around the ground like a wild animal constantly charging at you. The
most annoying thing is that you�re under the floor aka no space to move! First
things first, I know this is going to be hard but try not to get backed into a
corner. The only good thing about this ghost is that she�ll never teleport
around you and that she�ll stay in front of you the whole time (unless you�re
facing a wall.) ALWAYS have enough room to back up when she starts coming at
you. Her Fatal Frame comes when she�s just about to attack. If you keep your
camera on her at all times you�ll have no problem pointing out her Fatal Frame.
Lucky, this ghost albeit very annoying doesn�t have much life so shoot away and
she�ll go down in a few high powered shots.

When you�ve defeated this annoying excuse for a ghost, she�ll leave behind an
undeveloped photo for you. Afterwards, continue on to the exit she was
prohibiting you from going to earlier.

~~ Doll Altar West ~~

Make sure to pick up your first colored stone for the evening, the PURITY STONE
L BLUE as well as the GREEN DAIRY from the altar. For some reason the opening
from where you just came from is locked. So take the ladder on the west side.

~~ Under the Floor � Crouching ~~

Enter the viewfinder and move from the entrance while looking directly above
you. When you see the blue circle simply take your picture. This will leave you
with an undeveloped photo to develop later.

!! SCERT GHOST #14 - MAN UNDER FLOOR !!


As you�re walking towards the ladder in this room, notice the second pillar
supporting the floor on your right hand side. If you equip your camera and face
the pillar you can catch this ghost no problem.

When you�re ready, climb up the ladder to exit this room.

~~ Wooden Figure Room ~~

If for some reason you didn�t take the shot from under the floor (the one that
leaves an undeveloped photo) you�ll have another chance to here. Raise your
camera and aim in-between the two wooden figures in the back of the room.
Afterwards, check the altar for a note addition. Proceed to unlock the door and
you�ll get yourself into a battle.

** GHOST BATTLE � NEEDLE WOMAN **
Recommended Film: Type 14

Well here�s an interesting ghost. If you can�t tell why they call her
needlewoman just check out her hands! All right this ghost isn�t too bad if you
know what to do. The only thing you�ll need to worry about during this battle
is her constant vanishing to appear directly behind you trick. If your filament
is no longer red, you best exit the finder mode and look for her though most of
the time she�s most likely right behind you! Her Fatal Frame occurs when she
comes directly for you, arms outstretched. Try to get a combo shot on her if
you haven�t blasted her into the wall!

After you�re done, continue on into the Barred Hallway.

~~ Barred Hallway ~~

Make sure to pick up the HERBAL MEDICINE that in the closet and continue on to
the Kimono Room.

~~ Kimono Room ~~

Collect the PURPLE DIARY 2 from the mirror stand then proceed down the stairs
and into the Garden Corridor.

~~ Garden Corridor ~~

Save your game at the lantern then make your way down the left sided hallway.
You�ll notice the door is glowing blue, so take its photo. Ok return to the
Kimono Room when you�re ready.

~~ Kimono Room ~~

Go through the small door in the back of the room; it�s that door that�s right
next to the stairs.

~~ Above the Foyer ~~

As you enter this area you�ll notice the screen turning grainy as another
Priestess Girl comes to attack you! No, I�m just kidding, actually this
Priestess Girl is walking directly underneath you, but pay her no mind and
continue across the boards to the door at the other side.
~~ Above the Wooden Figure Room ~~

Once you�re in here look through the peephole.

** CEREMONY WOMAN **

Yep she�s in the same spot that you took her picture in last time. So simply do
it again! As a side note: these pictures are separate in your ghost file even
though they have the same name and location.

Now head back to the Garden Corridor via the Above the Foyer, Kimono Room, down
the stairs and through the door till you�re back.

~~ Garden Corridor ~~

Now would be a good time for you to head back to the Projection Room and the
Barred Hallway to pick up the nightly HERBAL MEDICINE and the nightly Type 14
Film from there if you wanted. You�ll be using them both soon so I recommended
going. When you�re ready to proceed save your game and go through the small
door that was once glowing down the left hallway.

~~ Doll Altar North ~~

Pick up the PURITY STONE GREEN and then walk right back out.

~~ Garden Corridor ~~

Make your way back to the Stained Corridor via the Bell hallway, and Grave
Courtyard.

~~ Stained Corridor ~~

Go through the small door and make sure to pick up the HERBAL MEDICINE lying on
the ground. Now get ready because we�re going under the floor again! Walk
towards the end of the passage and go through the opening.

~~ Underground Passage ~~

** GHOST BATTLE � CRAWLING WOMAN **
Recommended Film: Type 14

As you might have guessed, she�s back! (Annoying little...) ANYWAY! Take care
of her the same way you did before by backing up as much as possible and Fatal
Framing here when you get the chance.

You�ll notice that the path will split. Make sure to pick up the STONE MIRRIOR
from the left path. Afterwards, go down the right path and exit this area.

~~ Doll Altar South ~~

Pick up the PURITY STONE RED and the BLUE DIARY 1 from the altar here. Once
finished, unlock the door that�s in the back and go through.

~~ Great Staircase ~~

This staircase doesn�t look so great to me...well lets first remember to pick
up the Type 14 Film while you�re going up the stairs.
** GHOST BATTLE � PRIESTESS GIRL X2 **
Recommended Film: Type 14

TWO priestess girls�ll attack you while you�re walking up the stairs. DO NOT
fight them here! Instead run right past them until you reach the room at the
top; this is where the battle should take place. Their a pretty annoying duo in
that you�ll have to make sure you know where the other one is before you start
snapping the other. The ideal situation would be to get them both in the same
shot, but since I know this isn�t always possible, it�s best to just take them
out one by one. Use the same methods as before and Fatal Frame them when they
get close and try to stab you with their stakes.

When you�re done here make your way back to that Tattoo Altar, via the Hall
with the Tatami & the Blind Room. Make sure to catch the ghost in the Blind
Room as you go by.

~~ Blind Room ~~

** SECOND PLAYTHROUGH � GIRL IN BLIND **

If it�s your second or more time through the game, you can catch this ghost by
turning around and quickly raising your camera to snap her as you�re walking
down the stairs.

Go down the steps that lead to the Tattoo Altar.

~~ Tattoo Altar ~~

Pick up the BLUE DIARY 2 from off to the right side of the room then walk up
the altar itself and examine the area in-between the candles to start a puzzle.
This puzzle wants you to place the colored stones in the correct order. You can
play around with it on your own but if you need the solution look below.

Place the stones in the following order from left to right:
Light Blue -> Green -> Red -> Blue.

The Handmaidens song goes like this:

Sleep, Priestess, Lie in peace
If the Priestess wakes from her dream
Perform the rite of stakes, her limbs pinned tight
Lest the doors open wide, and the suffering unleashed on all.

Once you�ve placed the stones in the correct order the door will unlock so
heads towards it. Once you approach the door you�ll be attacked!

** GHOST BATTLE � KUZE FAMILY HEAD **
Recommended Film: Type 14

Well it�s been a while since we�ve had a new ghost to battle. First off, her
basic attack is to throw its hand at you. For every time the KUZE FAMILY HEAD
stops it�ll shoot out its two hands in your general direction and they�re not
too hard to dodge. If you can safely dodge these attacks then stay in finder
mode during the entire battle to make things easier on you. Her Fatal Frame
will occur right after it shoots out those hands. What makes this a difficult
battle is the ghosts� large amount of life.  But if you keep at it you�ll win
easily.

After the battle the dream will end.

~~ Rei�s Room ~~

Grab the MUSTY FILM and go downstairs.

~~ Living Room ~~

!! SECRET GHOST #32 � CHILD IN WINDOW !!

When you reach the bottom of the stairs you�ll hear and noise when you step
near the right spot by the stairs. Raise your camera and aim it at the sky
light on the ceiling. When you see the blue capture circle and the center of
the circle locked on to something, snap the shot.

Proceed to the Dark Room.

~~ Dark Room ~~

In the Dark Room, develop all the pictures to receive the CEREMONY ROOM BUDDHA,
THE ALTAR TATTOO and the CRAWLING WOMAN photos. When you�re ready head up to
Miku�s room.

~~ Miku�s Room ~~

Speak to Miku in her room.

~~ Rei�s Room ~~

Exit this room and walk down stairs.

~~ Living Room ~~

After walking downstairs, speak to Miku and she�ll give you the LEGEND OF SONG
1. Talk to her a second time to have her do some research on those photos you
developed earlier. When you�re done talking to her, pick up the LETTER FROM KEI
6, the TAPE: �THE SAME DREAM 2� AND THE TAPE: �THE SAME DREAM 3� from the
counter. Go upstairs to Yuu�s Room.

~~ Yuu�s Room ~~

Once inside Yuu�s Room check his bookcase for the file on RITUALS AND STATUES.
Then go back to Rei�s Room.

~~ Rei�s Room ~~

Listen to both tapes and then head back to Yuu�s Room.

~~ Yuu�s Room ~~

Check his bookcase one more time to receive the file SKEWERED DOLLS. Why the
man made you come back after listening to the tape sis beyond me. Anyways, head
back to Rei�s Room.

Save your game and fall back asleep.

If you check the door to Mio�s cage you�ll notice it has the duel lock, one
that needs a LIGHT KEY and one that needs a SHADOW KEY, so you must have both
keys before opening the door.

!! NON-REACTING GHOST � Mio !!

Although she will not cause your filament to react you�ll still need to take
her picture. So before you leave this room, snap Mio�s photo through the bars.
Once again, make sure you got her picture by checking your photo selection in
your main menu. If her names underneath the picture then you�re all set, if not
take it until her name appears.

Go through the door that�s here and exit this room.

~~ Great Hall ~~

Open the door that�s off to your left side. It�s against the wall and slightly
blends in so finding it may be hard, look at the map if you need help.

** WORN-OUT MAN **

Walk completely in the closet and turn to your right to take this picture of a
man slumped over on the floor. He�ll disappear after a few seconds so be quick!

This man will leave you with an undeveloped photo. Get out of the closet and
walk towards the door you originally came through. To make this next shot
easier, walk around the middle area to your right.

** TWINS AT HEARTH **

This isn�t too bad of a capture if you know what you�re doing. First of all, I
hope you followed my advice about staying to the outside of the room because
these two will appear in the middle area next to, you guessed it, the hearth.
You�ll need to raise your camera and turn to your left when the ghosts� appear.
They�ll stay for quite a while giving you some time to take the shot.

When you�re done getting both photos continue on moving to the right and don�t
forget to pick up the Type 14 Film from behind the folding screen. Go out
through the door behind the screen.

~~ Dirt Floor Hallway ~~

As you�re walking down this hallway, a Crimson Butterfly will appear at the end
of the hall. Continue walking down the hall and enter the Book Storeroom off to
the right.

~~ Book Storeroom ~~
Before you take one foot down those stairs, enter the finder mode.

** PEERING GIRL **

Now that you�re in finder mode proceed down the stairs slowly. Aim you camera
towards the top of the broken staircase in front of you and keep moving forward
until a little girl peers on the landing at you. It�s much easier to take this
shot from the finder.

But wait your not done yet!

!! SECRET GHOST #17 � CRUSHED WOMAN !!

Walk over to the collapsed stairs and point your camera down into the debris.
Once you see your capture circle turn blue, you know you�ve got the right spot.

The double doors in the back of the room are sealed so start heading back
towards the stairs you came down.

** GHOST BATTLE � NEEDLE WOMAN **
Recommended Film: Type 14

Well, honestly, you could run from this battle if you wanted too...but since
I�m writing this guide I say you stay and duke it out with this loser ghost.
Besides she�s not that hard and I�m sure Kei needs all the help his little
camera can get. She�s not too bad to fight as long as you don�t do it on the
stairs. Move back into the room you just came out of and battle there.

When you�re done dominating this ghost, exit the room and begin walking down
the hall ahead.

~~ Hearth Room ~~

As soon as you�re in this room you�ll be under a time crunch to get this next
ghost shot.

** 2ND FLOOR GIRLS **

I think this is one hard capture. Here�s some perpetration: when you walk into
this room you�ll come in under an archway. The girls will appear above the
archway your under. When you move from out the archway run till the camera
shows there�s ghosts in the room. QUICKLY, raise your camera and aim to the top
of the balcony. Those railings will get in your way so you might have to move
around a bit. The shot will not count for both girls if both are not taken at
once. You could take one girls picture then play the game again for the second
shot if you wanted.

If you�ve gotten this shot give yourself a pat on the back. Now, go pick up the
RED NOTEBOOK PART 1 from the side of the hearth. Ok now make sure to go into
the door on the ground floor that doesn�t have the blue lanterns surrounds it.
It�s the middle door in case you�re wondering.

~~ Kimono Room ~~

Save your game at this lantern. Make sure to pick up the RED NOTEBOOK 2 off the
desk to your left. Walk over to the closet area and stop.

** WOMAN BEYOND BARS **

When you get into the closet area you�ll see a blue pick up item on the floor.
Don�t touch it just yet because I have an easy way to get this shot. Ok stand
directly over the key and turn around, facing out of the closet so that the
save lantern on your right hand side. Once you�re in this position pick the key
up and this ghost will appear right in front on you. Simply raise the camera
for this shot. Standing on the key makes this so much easier since you�re
already facing the direction in which she is.

After you�re done you can exit this room.

~~ Hearth Room ~~

GOOD LORD!!!! It�s that topless woman that�s been following you! (If you�re a
guy that might not be such a bad thing ;) but anyways, much like the pervious
Fatal Frame games, there�s always been a ghost in which you cannot defeat and
must continually run from: this is that type of ghost! So avoid the right side
of the room since that�s where she�s at and quickly run up the stairs to your
left and enter the door at the top using the key you picked up in the pervious
room. Once you�re in the door at the top, the tattooed priestess will stop
following you.

~~ Twin�s Room ~~

** TWIN MAIDENS **

As soon as you enter this room and move towards the center, these two will
appear. They will be kneeling on the ground in front of you so take their
picture! Note: you must get both shots to get the full point value and both
entries in your spirit list.

You�ll notice two glowing item balls on trays in this room. Please pick up the
SHADOW KEY first; this key is the closest to the bars on the left side of the
room. Then walk over to where the SUNLIGHT KEY is but don�t pick it up.

** GIRL BEYOND BARS **

We�re going to do what we just did back in the Kimono Room. Stand on top of the
SUNLIGHT KEY to start since this will give you more range to catch this ghost
with. Next turn away from the bars so that you�re now facing the wall. Practice
pressing the down directional button (default settings) so that you end up
facing the bars on the other side (In other words you�re going to pull a 180.)
The girl will appear behind the bars after you�ve picked up the SUNLIGHT KEY.
When you get control of your camera after she appears, quickly press the down
button and you should be facing her if you�ve been practicing, then it�s just a
matter of raising your camera to shoot.

Make sure to pick up the SCARED WATER that�s in the back dresser, which is next
to the door. After that then leave this room.

~~ Hearth Room ~~

Go down the stairs in the back to your right, opposite the ones you came up
before. The tattooed priestess will not notice you if you down these back
stairs. Go into the dirt hallway.

~~ Dirt Hallway ~~

Now that we have the keys let�s go back to the cage Mio�s in. Go down the hall
and turn the corner to get back to the Great Hall. (There�s an Easter egg of a
distorted face that�s on the wall when you turn the corner.)

~~ Great Hall ~~

Try to open the door that leads back to the Confinement Room and a ROPE MAN
will appear in the room. YOU CANNOT FIGHT HIM AND WIN!!! One touch from him
will kill you unless you have a stone mirror. You must avoid him at all costs
until a Crimson Butterfly comes and unlocks the door for you. There�s plenty of
space here to run around so keep your distance and wait for the Butterfly. Once
the butterfly does come get your little butt through that door!

**** Lucas Wilkie adds:
"When you are playing as Kei Amakura and have to run from the Rope Man until
the butterfly comes and unlock the door for you, if you get hit by the Rope Man
while carrying a stone mirror, instead of dying you'll receive damage, be sure
to always have a stone mirror, otherwise is game over if he touches you." ****

~~ Confinement Room ~~

You should go and unlock that cage first and foremost. WHAT DO YOU MEAN MIO
ISN�T HERE! What a load of crap. Anyways, check the desk that�s inside the cage
and pick up the PINWHEEL KEY and the upgraded lens ZERO with a file. The
bookshelf next to the desk contains the TWIN SHINE MAIDENS file. Then walk over
to the bookshelf further back to receive the CRIMSON SACRIFICE file. When
you�re done picking up items, you can leave the cage. Exit this room through
the door way that lead to the cage and another Crimson Butterfly will appear
and show you a new way to go. Follow that butterfly down the hall!

At the end of the hall, you�ll reach another puzzle, this time however it�s a
pinwheel puzzle and much cooler to solve than the others in my opinion. The
object of this puzzle is to match the colors of the center pinwheel to the
surrounding pinwheels by rotating them. Move the pinwheels in the following
order: Bottom left -> upper right -> upper left -> and upper left again.

The door will now be unlocked so go on through.

~~ Spiral Corridor ~~

Follow Mio down the corridor and go through the door at the end.

~~ Rope Shrine ~~

!! SECRET GHOST #19 � WEDGE MAN !!

Walk up to the altar in the middle of the room and you should see your filament
turn blue. Enter the finder mode and aim directly above the altar to get this
secret ghost.

After this, check the door in the back of this room to start one hard battle.

** GHOST BATTLE � ROPE MAN **
Recommended Film: Type 90 (or 61 if you don�t have any 90)

If you just read what kind of film I recommended, you�ll get the hint that this
ghost can pretty much whomp you if you don�t take him down fast. But at least
now we can fight this ghost so here�s some preparation: The best opportunity
you�ll have to Fatal Frame him is when he�s diving towards you right before you
grabs you. You�ll have to aim up at him as he�s swooping in to make this a
little easier. Another good way to hit him is during the attack in which he�ll
shoot small faces out from his body that will travels around the room and try
to attack you. During this point you should take his picture and then when he
starts moving again wait until he stops to shoot his faces then take some more
pictures. However, don�t� rely solely on getting Fatal Frames from him and just
try to take the highest charged shot you can to avoid risking health.

Whew! After the battle, if you try to open the door Mio went through you�ll
find it still locked. So for now, turn around and head back out the door you
just came through.

~~ Spiral Corridor ~~

Begin walking down the stairs and another ROPE MAN will attack you. Good grief!
We are not going to fight him, especially not on the stairs, you can if you
REALLY want to but I don�t recommend it. For now dodge him the best you can and
run down the stairs to where a Crimson Butterfly is waiting to show you the
door to enter. Enter that door and you�ll be rid of the ghost. This will end
tonight dream.

~~ Rei�s Room ~~

Save you game as usual, then head downstairs to answer the ringing phone.

~~ Hallway ~~

Wow...that was just...wow...Ok I�m definitely not taking a shower for quite
some time after seeing that. Head back to Rei�s room.

~~ Rei�s Room ~~

** HAND UNDER BED **

As soon as you enter Rei�s Room stop moving. You�ll notice this hand coming
from under Rei�s bed. It�ll stay there until you a) photograph it or b) walk to
close to the bed. Just stay where you are and take the shot.

After you�ve taken this photo go visit Miku in her room.

~~ Miku�s Room ~~

Talk to Miku and she�ll give you all the information she has on your photos.
She will give back to you the photos you lent her. Go to Yuu�s Room to collect
some files.

~~ Yuu�s Room ~~

When you check the bookshelf in Yuu�s room you�ll receive the CARPENTERS
SPIRITED AWAY file. Then check his desk fro the LAND SURVEYORS MISSING
newspaper clipping. Afterwards, lets go to the dark room to develop those
photos.

~~ Dark Room ~~

Develop the photos you have to get the WOUNDED MAN and SEATED TWINS pictures.
Head back to Miku�s room to give her these.

~~ Miku�s Room ~~

Give Miku the pictures you just developed and go back to Rei�s room.

~~ Once in Rei�s Room, save your game and fall back asleep.

After you get your bearings step out of the cage and walk through the double
doors to exit this room.

~~ Garden Corridor ~~

We�re having a flash back of sorts. Walk around the tree to your left first.

** BOWING GIRL **

Much like the intro this game the BOWING GIRL will appear down both sides of
the hall. They�re in exactly the same spot as before so aim your camera
slightly down to capture her.

Now walk over to the right side of the tree.

** BOWING GIRL **

Much like the intro this game the BOWING GIRL will appear down both sides of
the hall. They�re in exactly the same spot as before so aim your camera
slightly down to capture her.

After taking both their pictures, head towards the double doors next to the
save point. You cannot save your game however because the blue light isn�t
activated. Try to open the double doors here and you�ll be attacked.

** GHOST BATTLE � HIDDEN FACE MAN **
Recommended Film: Type 14

This guy has a different Fatal Frame time then previous HIDDEN FACE MEN. His
Fatal Frame will come during his swinging of the clever, not before like the
other ones. To get a successful Fatal Frame, run down on of the hallways and
slowly back up as he starts his swing. This Fatal Frame also appears more
briefly then the others so make sure to time it just right.

Once you�ve defeated this guy, he will leave you with an undeveloped photo. Now
you can save your game so I suggest doing so. Our next objective is to get back
to the Stained Corridor. Go through the Barred Hallway picking up the nightly
HEARBAL MEDICINE and then through the Projector Room to grab the nightly Type
14 Film. When you get to the Round Window Foyer you can catch a secret ghost if
it�s your second or more time through the game.

~~ Round Window Foyer ~~

!! SECRET GHOST #6 � HANDMAIDEN HISAME !!
         SECOND PLAYTHROUGH

Before entering the Grave Courtyard, stand in the middle of this room and enter
the finer mode. Aim the camera towards the entrance to the Grave Courtyard and
then move your camera up until you�re aiming at the blue paper window at the
very top. When you�re capture circle turns blue, take the shot to reveal this
ghost.

After you�ve taken this photo, continue on through the Grave Courtyard and
enter the Stained Corridor.

~~ Stained Corridor ~~

** DISSAPPEARING MAN **

Walk around the right side of the room and quickly raise your camera to take a
picture of this vanishing ghost.

Remember where the hand sticking out of the wall is? Well walk around the
corner and directly across from the hand is a discolored part in the wall. If
you inspect it you�ll see it�s a door, so go through it.

~~ Sacrificial Pillar Room ~~

** DETERMINED MAN **

There�s a ghost on the floor here. The good thing about this ghost is that he
will not move from this spot until you take his picture. So oblige him and snap
it.

After taking this mans picture, the door that was sealed in the Garden Corridor
is now opened. Before leaving this room, check the wooden section of the floor
in the back to find the MAP WITH MARK and the equipment SWITCH with file. Now
leave the room.

~~ Stained Corridor ~~

Before leaving here, you can pick up the HERBAL MEDICINE by going through the
small door here as usual. Now you�ll have the unique opportunity to do
something optional that will net you several pictures for your spirit list and
a couple new items! If you don�t want to do this optional quest then I�ll meet
you all in the Hall with Tatami.

~~ Room with Blind � optional ~~

Enter the Room with Blind and walk to the area that contains the bed surrounded
by the curtains. Search the bed to acquire the CALICO NOTEBOOK 2. Once you�ve
picked this up you�ll be in a battle.

** GHOST BATTLE � KUZE FAMILY HEAD **
Recommended Film: Type 14

Once again, her basic attack is to throw its hand at you. If you can safely
dodge these attacks then stay in finder mode during the entire battle to make
things easier on you. Her Fatal Frame will occur right after it shoots out
those hands.

Leave here and make your way to the Partitioned Room after saving your game in
the Stairs Hallway.

** DISTRESSED WOMAN **

This lady is standing on the other side of the sliding doors in the middle of
the room. She will appear only if you�ve taken the picture of the glowing area
during your last play as Rei.

Leave this room and go to the Foyer.

~~ Foyer � optional ~~

** GHOST BATTLE � STROLLER GRANDMA **
Recommended Film: Type 90 (or 61 if you don�t have any 90)

THIS WILL BE THE ONLY TIME YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO FIGHT THIS GHOST IN THE
ENTIRE GAME!!! In other words, if you missed taking Yoshino�s picture during
hour VI then you�ll miss this rare ghost and will not be able to add her to
your spirit list until you replay the game.

For the battle, equip you strongest film and walk down the main hall that leads
back to the door to exit the dream. Suddenly, this ghost will come charging
straight for you! No worries just take out your camera and back up as she
charges you. Her Fatal Frame occurs when she�s charging at you so there�s
really no way to miss this unless you�re hasty. If she happens to get past you
turn around and start walking backwards down the hall as she rushes you again.
Since she doesn�t teleport you�ll always know where she is and even though she
only has one attack, if you have low health it can be devastating.
Now, unlike other ghosts, if the STROLLER GRANDMA happens to kill you, she will
not appear again for you to beat, nor will you be able to receive the item she
drops. In other words, don�t die!

When you�ve defeated this optional ghost, she�ll leave behind the NOTCHED ARROW
KEY. Go to the small door right next to the dream exit and unlock it. Then
enter the door on the other side of the gated area.
~~ Secret Passage � optional ~~

Walk straight down the passage to the door at the end. If you need one, there�s
a STONE MIRROR right by the door at the end.

~~ Partitioned Room � optional ~~

When you approach Yoshino she�ll attack you for the last time.

** GHOST BATTLE � FEMALE SURVIVOR & BLACK SHADOWS **
Recommended Film: Type 14

Just like the pervious FEMALE SURVIVOR battles, concentrate all your film on
Yoshino and quickly take her out to stop the shadows from reappearing. Defeat
her this last time so she�ll get the hint and leave you alone.

After finally getting rid of her, she�ll leave behind YOSHINO�S PHOTO and the
new equipment MEASURE with a file. With MEASURE you can now see the ghost�s
health bar. Pretty nifty!

Now return to the story by making you way to the Hall with Tatami.

~~ Hall with Tatami ~~

Everyone ready to move on? As always, grab the nightly Type 14 Film from the
room with the kimonos and then enter the Rope Hallway and go back into the Rope
Palace.

~~ Rope Palace ~~

As soon as you get in here, take a picture of the glowing blue area ion the
stone altar. You�ll receive an undeveloped photo for your trouble. Now make
your way back to the Rope Hallway, but save first in the Foyer as there�s a
very cool ghost you just don�t want to miss!

~~ Rope Hallway ~~

** FALLING WOMAN **

Walk down the hall already in the finder mode to make this capture easier. Aim
your camera towards the ceiling at the small window. About halfway down the
hall the FALLING WOMAN will fall (duh) from the ceiling to the floor rather
quickly. So snap her picture as she falls.
I say this is a cool picture because she just falls with such grace!

After she landed she�ll attack you.

** GHOST BATTLE � ROPE PRIESTESS **
Recommended Film: Type 14

Once again, her Fatal Frame chance appears on and off as she floats towards
you. She�s got amazing reach so try to stay far from her. Don�t worry too much
about getting her Fatal Frame and just try to take fully charged shots at her
since her movements are pretty quick. I really hate those obnoxious noises she
makes I mean I know how she died and it was pretty awful but do you have to
seriously sound like that in death?

That�s enough of my ramblings. After the battle make your way to the Great Hall
and then enter the Futon Room at the end.

~~ Futon Room ~~

Well, that�s one suspicious looking closet!

** TRAPPED WOMAN **

The instant you open the closet, take out your camera and take the picture of
this woman before she disappears. This ghost stays for only a short amount of
time. If it�s any conciliation, she will appear directly in front of you when
you pull up the viewfinder so aiming isn�t required here.

Once she�s been freed from the closet, she�ll attack you! Some gratitude huh?

** GHOST BATTLE � CRAWLING WOMAN **
Recommended Film: Type 14

You�d think because there�s more space that this ghost would be a little easier
to deal with. WRONG! In fact she�s worse in open spaces because you have to
constantly keep aiming your camera down towards the ground. The strategy for
this battle is to keep your camera aimed at the floor and take her picture as
she rushes towards you.

When you�ve beaten her, she�ll leave you with an undeveloped photo. When you�re
ready, head back to through the Rope Hallway and enter the Blind Room by going
through the Hall with Tatami.

~~ Blind Room ~~

Well, what do you know; the Blind is now opened! Yay! Make sure to pick up the
CALICO NOTEBOOK 1 and the upgraded lens ZERO with file from off of the desk.
Don�t forget about the nightly HERBAL MEDICINE behind the folding screens! When
you�re done here, return to the Bell Hallway and then make your way back to the
Garden Corridor.

~~ Garden Corridor ~~

** GHOST BATTLE � HIDDEN FACE MAN **
Recommended Film: Type 14

Well lookie who�s waiting for you? This guy has the same Fatal Frame time as
the previous HIDDEN FACE MAN. His Fatal Frame will come during his swinging of
the clever. To get a successful Fatal Frame, run down on of the hallways as you
did before and slowly back up as he starts his swing. This Fatal Frame also
appears briefly so make sure to time it just right.

After you�ve gotten rid of this guy, save your game here at the lantern and
walk through the double doors.

~~ Shrine Courtyard ~~

Walk down the stairs here and stop.

** WOMAN AT SHRINE **

There are actually two women but whatever. Ok, all you have to do is aim your
camera straight ahead and take the shot.

When you�ve finished walk straight ahead to end this dream.

~~ Rei�s Room ~~

After saving your game if you wish, exit this room and head down to develop
your film.

~~ Dark Room ~~

Develop all the pictures you got the pervious dream. After you�ve done so, head
back to the Living Room.

~~ Living Room ~~

Answer your phone two times.

~~ Rei�s Room ~~

Exit this room and walk downstairs to the bathroom for a chance at an optional
ghost. This ghost will not count towards your spirit list but it does give you
extra points!

~~ Bathroom ~~

Once in the bathroom, raise your camera and wait for the needlewoman to emerge
from the mirror. As soon as your capture circle turns blue take your shot.
After you�re done, head up to Miku�s room.

~~ Miku�s Room ~~

Speak to Miku in her room to receive the files MISSING IN MINIKAMI and TWIN
DEIFICATION if you gave Miku the pictures for the twin�s photo and the picture
of Mio. After getting all the goodies, talk to her again to give her tonight�s
batch of pictures for her to investigate. Go to Yuu�s Room.

~~ Yuu�s Room ~~

Check Yuu�s bookcase to receive the ROPE PRIESTESS file. Then check Yuu�s desk
for the MANOR OF SLEEP book. Go back to Rei�s Room when you�re done.

~~ Rei�s Room ~~

Save your game and once again fall back asleep.

Make your way toward the Kimono Room.

** DOOR WOMAN **

As you�re nearing the stairs the DOOR WOMAN will appear at the top of them.
Simply aim your camera at the top of the stairs.

Before you enter the Kimono Room, check out the closet for some HERBAL
MEDICINE. After you�re done, enter the Kimono room for a fight.

~~ Kimono Room ~~

If you noticed, the room kimonos in the room have moved around some.

** CRYING WOMAN **

When you walk around the one side of the kimono rack you�ll see the woman
crying in front of the mirror stand. Make sure you don�t get to close and just
take the shot.

After taking her picture, you�ll be attacked.

       IMPORTANT
If you decide you want to run away from this ghost without defeating her, just
note that you will be forfeiting the DIANTHUS KEY that the WOMAN BRUSHING drops
after the battle. This key isn�t needed to complete the game, but it is
necessary to complete your spirit list. Also, if you leave this room and then
come back, she will not be there.

** GHOST BATTLE � WOMAN BRUSHING **
Recommended Film: Type 14

Fight her the same way you�ve been fighting her. Always try to get her Fatal
Frame when she fly�s straight for you. As and usual try and dodge the hair
while moving around this tiny space.

When the battle is over, she�ll drop the DIANTHUS KEY. Exit this room and enter
the Closet Hallway.

~~ Closet Hallway ~~

Walk downstairs, picking up the nightly item in the closet before you do, and
unlock the small door with your newly acquired key.

~~ Well Room ~~
When you enter you�ll notice the well is glowing blue. Taking its picture will
leave you with an undeveloped photo. If you need a STONE MIRROR there�s one in
here for you.

                              CHOICE TIME!!!!

You now have a decision to make if it�s your second play through or more
through the game. The choice you make will determine what ending you receive.


CHOICE 1) Proceed to the Garden Corridor (this is the normal ending.)

CHOICE 2) Proceed to the Stairs Hallway 2F (this is the extra ending.)


If it�s your first time through the game, or if you�ve chosen choice 1 then
head to the Garden Corridor and I�ll see you there.


~~ Stairs Hallway 2F (2nd Play through +)~~

First walk all the way to the back of the hallway and move the dresser that�s
blocking the door in the back. After you�ve done that exit this door and walk
onto the roof and across it to the door on the other side.

~~ Closed Tatami Room (2nd Play through +)~~

** CRYING WOMAN **

Take this picture of her, as she appears right behind you.

Afterwards, make sure to pick up the PURPLE DIARY 4 from the ground. There�s
some very rare film Type Zero in the dresser, so you�re going to want to pick
that up.

!! SECRET GHOST #2 � KYOKA KUZE !!

Stand on the cushion and aim your camera down at the mirror stand to take this
picture.

After you�re done, open the wooden panel that�s on the floor and climb down
into the Hearth Room.

~~ Hearth Room (2nd Play through +) ~~

** GHOST BATTLE � WOMAN BRUSHING **
Recommended Film: Type 14

Just pummel her with your Fatal Frames and charged shots and she�ll go down
quickly. She�s the same as before so you shouldn�t have too much of a problem.

After you�ve defeated her, she�ll leave behind the HOLLY KEY and the upgraded
lens, PIERCE with a file. When you�re done here, enter the Kimono Room.

~~ Kimono Room  (2nd Play through +) ~~

Head straight for the mirror stand and use the HOLLY KEY to unlock the drawer.
In it, you�ll receive the LEGEND OF SONG 3 file, the KEI LOOAKLIKE photo and
the KYOKA�S EARRING. When your done exit this room and head to the Garden
Corridor to continue with the main story.

~~ Garden Corridor ~~

If you can get to the save point without triggering this ghost appearance then
do so please as this can be a hard capture. No not walk to the left side if you
want try and save first.

** CORRIDOR WOMAN **

This lady will appear as you�re walking towards the left side of the tree.
She�ll appear from under the floorboards so you�ll have to make sure to aim
downwards to catch her. She�ll appear quickly, and if you don�t have the right
angle you might miss her, that�s why I suggested you save first.

Before continuing on with the story, you might want to run around and pick up
some nightly Film and Medicine for your collections as you�re going to need it
soon. Either way, when you�re ready enter through the double doors and go into
the Shrine Courtyard.

~~ Shrine Courtyard ~~

Once here, you�ll receive the file on THE PURIFYING LIGHT. Basically,
throughout the rest of the game, you�ll now have to find these blues candles to
keep the screen from changing to monochrome. When the screen is in the
monochrome state, hostile ghosts will be more prone to attacking you as well as
the initiating the appearance of the TATTOOED PRIETSESS in many of the rooms.
Since you don�t want any of that to happen, make sure you always have a candle.

!! SECRET GHOST #25 BUREDENED MAN !!
         SECOND PLAYTHROUGH

If it�s your second time or more through the game you can capture this ghost by
first walking over to the grave on your left that is enclosed by a fence.
Simply aim at the grave and take the shot.

On the other side of the grave enclosed by the fence is some Type Zero Film,
which is lying on the ground.  After grabbing the film, walk over to the right
side and pick up the HERBAL MEDICINE.

!! SECRET GHOST #24 BATTERED MAN !!

Make you way over to the collapsed building that�s on the right side and watch
for your filament to turn blue. Aim towards the wreckage for this ghost to
appear.

** MAN ON ROOF **

The easiest way to do this is to head back to the stairs you first came down
and then turn around so that you�re facing the Shrine gate. Now proceed
forward, walking underneath the Shrine gate�s middle path. He will appear
walking across the roof straight above you. Raise your camera and take the
shot. It�s best just to let the auto-tracking take over if you can�t see him.

Walk all the way over to the left side and you�ll see some stairs leading up to
a door there. On the right side of those stairs is some SACRED WATER. Go
through the door (unbarring it as you go) when you�re ready.

~~ Book Storeroom ~~

** PEERING GIRL **

She�ll be in the exact same spot you took her picture before, at the top of the
stairs looking down at you. Just walk around the wreckage and aim up the
stairs. She�ll appear briefly, like before, so be quick!

You will notice an item so run over to it and pick it up to receive the
PINWHEEL KEY. Climb up the stairs and go through the door leading back to the
Dirt Floor Hallway.

~~ Dirt Floor Hallway ~~

You�ll see that Crimson Butterfly once again showing you the direction to go so
follow it! It leads you down the hall and into the Hearth Room.

~~ Hearth Room ~~

** 2ND FLOOR TWINS **

Ok, so you�re taking pictures of all the same ghost as before... when you walk
into this room you�ll come in under an archway. The girls will appear above the
archway your under. When you move from out the archway run till the camera
shows there�s ghosts in the room. QUICKLY, raise your camera and aim to the top
of the balcony. Those railings will get in your way so you might have to move
around a bit. The shot will not count for both girls if both are not taken at
once. You could take one girls picture then play the game again for the second
shot if you wanted.

After taking their picture (again) follow them up the stairs and into their
room. Don�t even think about saving your game in the Kimono Room, because the
Tattooed Priestess is in there.

~~ Twins Room ~~

** TWINS CEREMONY **

This is getting old...I hate repeating myself. However, their sitting right in
the middle of the floor just like last time so simply raise you camera a take
the picture.

!! SECRET GHOST #18 � BINDING MAN !!
         SECOND PLAYTHROUGH

If you look on the twins� chest you�ll notice a very creepy looking mummy dude.
If you stand directly in front of him you can receive his secret picture.

When you�re finished, walk to the back of the room on the other side of the
bars to a door. You�ll now have to solve the pinwheel puzzle.

How to open the door, move the pinwheels in the following order:

Top left wheel once -> top right wheel once -> bottom right wheel twice -> top
left wheel once.

Go through the door when you�re done.

~~ Book Storeroom ~~

On the bookshelf that�s on the left side of the room, pick up THE UNLEASHING
TOME and THE MIRROR OF LOSS TOME. Then move over to the bookshelf on the right
side of the room to pick up THE TEARING TOME and THE RITE OF PURPLE INK TOME.
The bookshelf that�s on the back left wall contains the PURIFYING LIGHT TOME.

** ATTIC WOMAN **

As you approach the stairs leading up, go up them step by step. As soon as
you�re indicated that there�s a ghost near, pan your camera to face her as she
appears quickly. She�ll crawl by underneath the floor to your left.

!! SECRET GHOST � SCREEN GIRL !!

You thought you�ve seen a hard capture? Guess again! This one is by far the
hardest ghost to catch in the entire game, in my opinion. There is a ghost
behind the folding screen that will disappear EXTREMELY fast. In fact, she will
appear for exactly one whole second in your viewfinder before disappearing.
What makes this capture hard is that there�s glowing blue spot in the same
place where the ghost is. However, for your shot to count you must take the
picture of the actual ghost, not the blue area. To try and manage this, run to
the left side of the body bag that�s on the ground and turn very quickly to
you�re right a little and take the shot. If your capture circle is blue, you�re
not going to get the girls picture; you�re going to get the glowing areas
instead. Make sure your capture circle is not blue before taking the picture
and watch for the tracking in the middle of the capture circle to lock one the
girl. You�ll know if you got the shot or not if the picture has the name SCREEN
GIRL under it.
This girl is not worth any points, but is crucial for your spirit list.

After you�ve taken this hard capture, give yourself a pat on the back and then
take the shot of the glowing blue area. You�ll get an undeveloped photo fro
your troubles and you first PURIFYING LIGHT. This light will not last you
forever so make sure to keep moving. First grab the Type 90 Film from off the
shelf that�s hanging. Well, go back to the Kimono room and save your game since
the Priestess is gone. After saving your game, enter the Foyer across from the
Kimono Room.

~~ Foyer ~~

** WOMAN BEYOND BARS **

This woman will walk past the bars on your right side. Simply turn and take her
picture before she vanishes.

Return to the Book Storeroom 2nd Floor and then proceed out the door and onto
the roof.

~~ Shrine Courtyard � Roof ~~

** MAN ON ROOF **
Walk across the roof until the camera angle changes, showing you the man. He
should be standing right in front of you so just shoot him.

Continue moving across this roof until you are prompted to jump to the next
roof. Do so by pressing the X button (default settings), and if its� your
second or more time through the game you can catch a secret ghost.

!! SECRET GHOST #27 � FUNERAL PROCESSION !!

While standing on the roof aim your camera down towards the top of the shrine
gate and you�ll catch this secret ghost.

While walking along this roof, just follow the direction that the man in blue
went. You�ll notice a ghost below as you walk along but pay it no mind. Once
you get to the end of the roof, open the door and go through.

~~ Attic Room ~~

Make sure to pick up the film ABYSS from the bookshelf here. Also, check the
box that�s next to the bookshelf to pick up the Type 90 Film here. Afterwards,
head down the stairs.

~~ Engraving Shrine ~~

As you begin to walk across the beams you�ll notice a few items lying about.
Hold off for now on picking up the STONE MIRRIOR that�s on the west side,
someone else will need this later. First, walk over to the south end and pick
up the SACRED WATER, you�ll know your on the south end because there is a
separate beam leading to the water. Then walk back to the east side and pick up
the PURIFYING CANDLE, which I�m sure you need to replenish by now. After
picking up your items, head down the ladder. When your on the ground level pick
up the Type 61 Film from the left side in the back of the alter. Check the
middle of the room to acquire the PIERCING THE SOUL TOME. When you�re ready,
check the small alter in the center of the room to start a fight.

~~ GHOST BATTLE � NEEDLE WOMAN x2 ~~
Recommended Film: Type 14

All right, there are two of them, and that�s the only thing they got going for
them! The only thing you�ll need to worry about during this battle is their
constant vanishing to appear directly behind you trick. Again, their Fatal
Frame occurs when they comes directly for you, arms outstretched. Take them out
one at a time, unless you can get both in your viewfinder at once. They�re not
too strong but having them together can get hairy so take them out ASAP.

When the battle (if that�s what you�d call it) is over exit the shrine and head
out into the courtyard.

~~ Shrine Courtyard ~~

Simply walk straight ahead to end this dream.

~~ Rei�s Room ~~

First and foremost, save your game. Then, grab the musty film from out the
camera and head downstairs. Before, heading to the Dark Room, find Miku in the
house (she should be in the living room) and talk to her to acquire the RESCUED
WOMAN photo and the GONE newspaper clipping.

~~ Dark Room ~~

Once here, develop your film to get the HIDING GIRL and WOMAN AT WELL pictures.

~~ Rei�s Room ~~

Hmm...That�s a familiar song, haven�t you heard the Priestess Girls singing
this? Head downstairs to investigate where that song is coming from.

~~ Living Room ~~

When you approach Miku you�ll hear some dialogue about where she heard that
song. You�ll receive an extra note for your troubles. Head back upstairs when
you�re done.

~~ Rei�s Room ~~

Save your game and fall back asleep.

** 2ND FLOOR MAN **

Quickly, run to the left side of the stairs and aim up to get the picture of
this vanishing ghost.

Afterwards, head up the stairs and follow the man into the Library.

~~ Library ~~

You�ll notice the glowing blue spot has appeared on the altar in the back of
the Library. Take the photo to receive an undeveloped picture, HIDNIG GIRL.
Don�t even think about picking up that PURIFYING LIGHT that�s up the ladder!
Instead, resist the urge and walk out into the Garden Corridor.

~~ Garden Corridor ~~

Save your game first, then head through the double doors into the Shrine
Courtyard.

~~ Shrine Courtyard ~~

Pick up the nightly HERBAL MEDICINE from the right side. When you�re ready head
over and enter the doors on the left side of the courtyard.

~~ Book Storeroom ~~

The signing that you heard before has started again. Your goal is to get to the
Book Storeroom second floor. You can get there via, the Dirt Hallway, the
Hearth room, save your game in the kimono room, then up the stairs into the
twins room and through the door behind the bars. Meet you there!

~~ Book Storeroom � 2nd Floor ~~

Once here, head up the stairs.

** SCREEN GIRL **

Similar to the first SCREEN GIRL in name only, this girl will also appear
behind the folding screen. This girl will stay a few seconds longer than her
previously named friend, making this not too hard of a shot. Since you don�t
have to worry about a blue glowing area, just take her picture.

She will leave you with the COMMANDMENT TOME and a PURIFYING CANDLE. Since Miku
is a weakling and can�t jump the roof, you have no choice but to go back down
the stairs. Our goal now is to make our way back to the Library. Head there
via, the Shrine Courtyard and Garden Corridor. When you enter the Hearth Room
the ROPE MAN will attack you. Don�t even think about fighting him and run very
quickly back to the Book Storeroom where you�ll lose him.

~~ Library ~~

Place the COMMANDMENT TOME on the altar that�s in the back of the Library. By
doing so you�ll unlock the door upstairs. Afterwards, climb the ladder and make
sure to pick up the PURIFYING LIGHT, which I�m sure you�re in need of and go
through the door.

~~ Flickering Hallway ~~

Stand in the middle row and stop.

** WOMAN IN DARK **

Once you�ve reached the middle row, stop and turn around. Now begin walking
backwards until she appears and then just take her photo.

Be prepared for a battle when you approach the small door.

~~ GHOST BATTLE � NEEDLE WOMAN ~~
Recommended Film: Type 14

Is any one else getting annoyed with her? Same as before, just Fatal Frame her
when she tries to grab you with her arms outstretched. The only thing that
might make this difficult is the rows through which you can lose her easily. No
worries just find her and get rid of her.

After the *cough, cough, battle...open the small door and go through.

~~ Hanging Prison ~~

Enter the small cage here and pick up the MIRROR OF LOSS and the TATTOOED DIARY
1. Stop when you get to the last page of the diary so you don�t miss a
vanishing ghost.

** GIRL NEAR PRISON **

As soon as you�re finished reading the TATTOOED DIARY 1 this vanishing ghost
will appear. She will be standing outside the cage near the door. To help make
this an easier catch, before you pick up the diary face the door, this way you
won�t have to spin around quickly.

After the shot, exit the cage and walk through the door that�s just up ahead.

~~ Kimono Room ~~

** GIRL IN BACK **

Approach the top of the stairs and then turn around. Enter the viewfinder and
begin walking down the stairs backwards. The girl will appear right in front of

Continue down the stairs and enter the door leading to the Garden Corridor.

** COURTYARD GIRLS x4 **

Ok for these ghosts, the first set of two will appear when you enter the
Corridor. Their standing right in front of the tree so take the shot. The
second set of two will spear when you walk around the tree either to your right
or left side. They�ll also be standing in front on the tree. My suggestion is
when you walk around the tree trying to get the second set, is to already be in
the finder mode facing the front of the tree so you�ll have them in your view
before they appear. You can take all their photos separate or you can get both
girls in the picture at once. Either way, all four girls count, as four
different entries in your spirit list so make sure to get them all!

Save your game at the lantern and enter the double doors leading to the Shrine
Courtyard.

~~ Shrine Courtyard ~~

If it�s your second or more time through the game you can catch a secret ghost.
If not go through the doors leading to the Engraving Shrine.

!! SECRET GHOST #26 � KANAME OTOTSUKI !!

Before entering the Engraving Shrine aim your camera at the front of the door
and a little off to the right side. You�ll see a small shrine here and the
secret ghost. So aim at the small shrine a shoot!

** PRAYING SENIOR **

As soon as you enter the room, stop and raise your camera. She�s kneeling at
the altar in front of you so take her picture!

After you take her picture she will attack you!

~~ GHOST BATTLE � KUZE FAMILY HEAD ~~
Recommended Film: Type 61

I�m sure your candle is burning low so whip out the Type 61 Film to make waster
of this annoying woman. Ok she�s pretty much the same expect she acquired a new
move. Every now and then she�ll stop, raise her head, and will lift you into
the air with a ton of hands. She�s really easy to shutter chance when she stops
to perform this move but if you see the hands run for it!

After the battle, place the MIRROR OF LOSS on the pedestal that�s atop the
altar. I�m sure your crying for a new candle so get your little butt up the
ladder in this room before moving on and collect the candle that�s up there.
Don�t even think about touching that STONE MIRROR if its still up there...I
already told you someone else will need it later. Once down the ladder, make
sure to pick up the Type 90 Film from behind the screen on the right hand side.
When you�re all set, go through the door behind the altar.

~~ Last Passage ~~

Save your game at the lantern here and approach the stairs.

** RECEDING WOMAN **

As you approach the stairs, aim downwards and continue moving forward until the
woman appears. She�ll be walking down the stairs right in front of you making
this a fairly easy shot.

Continue down the stairs and proceed through the large doors at the bottom.

~~ Abyss ~~

** GIRL IN ABYSS **

As you�re walking down the stairs, wait until you can clearly see the bottom.
Since this is a spiral staircase, what I mean is to wait until you can see the
bottom middle area. A girl will be lying on the ground here. She will not
vanish until you either take her picture or get to close to the bottom. My
recommendation is to wait until you�ve past the beams before trying to take
this shot.

As soon as you get to the bottom on the stairs you�ll be thrown into battle.

~~ GHOST BATTLE � PRIESTESS GIRL x3 ~~
Recommended Film: Type 14 or 61
All I can say is that this battle is frustrating. This time around you�ll be
facing three PRIESTESS GIRLS and they�re nothing short of annoying. They�ll
attack you in the same way they have before, either by rushing towards you or
trying to stake you to the ground. Wait for their Fatal Frames and have at it!
Ideally, you�ll want to try to get more than one in your viewfinder at once to
maximize damage and minimize health. Make sure to keep an eye on your health,
as these three can take you down quite fast if you�re not careful.

Whew! After the battle, save your game at the lantern if you�d like, then head
through the huge doors in the back.

~~ Last Passage ~~

Walk across the planks and follow the woman to the door at the end and this
dream will be over.

Aim your camera up at the right most window and take the shot.

You know I really hate this woman... Once again, her Fatal Frame chance appears
on and off as she floats towards you. She�s got amazing reach so try to stay
far from her. Don�t worry too much about getting her Fatal Frame and just try
to take fully charged shots at her since her movements are pretty quick. The
only difference here is that this woman has more health than the others, but
she�ll fall soon enough.


                              CHOICE TIME!!!!

You�re choosing which cut scene you�d like to see. Both choices lead you to the
same result but there�s a slight difference between the two. For the better of
the two cut scenes choose choice A. However, you did just save your game so you
can see both if you wish.

Choice A: Continue on through the back door of the Rope Palace and find Mafuyu

Choice B: Return to the Foyer of Himuro Mansion and enter the Rope Hallway.
Walk down the Rope Hallway until the scene starts.

When you pick your choice, watch the scene and afterwards you�ll wake from the
dream. Oh and say buh-bye to Miku folks, as you won�t be playing as her during
the rest of the game.

As you approach the altar room, steady your camera and wait until she appears.
Aim your camera at the opening to the altar room and make sure you can see the
opposite wall before moving forward. She�ll appear going down the hall from the
left to right. She doesn�t move too quickly but you�ll have to be ready when
she does come!

When you�re done head back to Rei�s Room.

We�re going to make a side trip to get a diary before we continue. So head back
to the Book Storeroom 2nd floor via the Garden Corridor, Book Storeroom, Dirt
Hallway, Twins Room, and up the stairs to the spot where the SCREEN GIRL
appeared.

~~ Book Storeroom � 2nd Floor ~~

Go to the spot where the SCREEN GIRL was sitting before, it�s behind the
folding screen in case you�re confused. Pick up her diary and then head back to
the Garden Corridor.

~~ Garden Corridor ~~

Avoid the TATTOOED PRIESTESS as best you can and quickly make your way over to
the Doll Altar Room East.

~~ Doll Altar East ~~

When you enter the room, walk right up to the altar to start a candle puzzle.
The goal is to get rid of the shadow the stake casts by lighting the candles in
the correct order.
Light the candles in this order. I�ve numbered the candles 1-9 in a clockwise
fashion so that candle number 1 is the top candle, 5 is the bottom candle and 9
is the middle candle.

Solution, light candles: 3 -> 4 -> and 8

After the puzzle has been solved you receive the TATTOOED STAKE 1. Try to leave
this room and the PRIESTESS GIRL will attack you.

~~ GHOST BATTLE � PRIESTESS GIRL ~~
Recommended Film: Type 14

Well if you thought these girls couldn�t get more annoying, you�re so wrong.
Now they have a new surprise: they can fly! Combine flying; with a small space
and constant teleporting and you�ve got a good idea how this battle is going to
be. For her new Fatal Frame, she�ll be soaring around up high then she will
suddenly dash towards you, and that�s when you strike! Although it�s risky
business, this dashing attack is exactly when her Fatal Frame comes. Don�t be
surprised when your charging shot comes to a halt because of her constant
teleporting. Try to keep her in view as best you can and the battle should be
over before long.

When the battle is over you�ll receive the upgraded lens BLOW (that sounds so
dirty.) Head out of this room when you�re done.

~~ Garden Corridor ~~

Now, head over to the Doll Altar North, which is in the hallway right across
from where you�re standing currently. At least you don�t have to worry about
the TATTOOED PRIESTESS, as she�s no longer hanging out here.

~~ Doll Altar North ~~

Walk up to the altar here and begin another candle puzzle.

Light the candles in this order. I�ve numbered the candles 1-9 in a clockwise
fashion so that candle number 1 is the top candle, 5 is the bottom candle and 9
is the middle candle.

Solution, light candles: 1 -> 2 -> 3 -> 4 -> and 9

After you�ve completed this puzzle, you�ll receive the TATTOOED STAKE 2. Leave
this room when you�re ready.

~~ Garden Corridor ~~

Save your game here and start making your way back to the Kimono Room. Go
through the middle door here and pick up the PURIFYING LIGHT before climbing
the stairs.

~~ Kimono Room ~~

As you approach the mirror stand the WOMAN BRUSHING will attack you.

~~ GHOST BATTLE � WOMAN BRUSHING ~~
Recommended Film: Type 14

She�s no different than before so simply battle her out until she�s defeated.

After you�ve beaten her, she�ll leave behind the PURPLE DIARY 3. Now enter the
Barred Hallway.

~~ Barred Hallway ~~

** CLOSET CHILD **

Stand right in front of the closet. When you open the doors to the closet the
CLOSET GIRL will shoot out and vanish. You must be quick to get this shot.
Simply open the doors and enter the viewfinder. Since you�re already facing
forward simply shoot when you see the blue circle.

When she leaves, grab the nightly HERBAL MEDICINE from the closet and go to the
Wooden Figure Room. However, right before you reach the room stop when you see
a huge mirror to the right of the door.

** MIRROR WOMAN **

Ok this is actually the coolest ghost catch in the game in my opinion. You�ll
notice a ghost standing in the mirror on the left side of the door. She�ll
appear right in the mirror! Take the shot of her to ruin her surprise attack.

~~ GHOST BATTLE � NEEDLE WOMAN ~~
Recommended Film: Type 14

This battle will only occur if you�ve taken her picture in the mirror. If you
entered the Wooden Figure Room before taking the picture then you�ll still get
attacked, but she�ll no longer be in the mirror. Anyways, she�s no different
then the others you�ve faced so blow her away with some Type 14 Film.

Enter the Wooden Figure Room when you�re done.

~~ Wooden Figure Room ~~

First things first, pick up the PURIFYING CANDLE that�s on the altar. Open the
floorboard that�s in the back right hand side of the room and then go under the
floor to the next Doll Altar.

~~ Doll Altar West ~~

Examine the altar for another candle puzzle. Light the candles in this order.
I�ve numbered the candles 1-9 in a clockwise fashion so that candle number 1 is
the top candle, 5 is the bottom candle and 9 is the middle candle.

Solution, light candles: 3 -> and 9 on the left set
Solution, light candles: 1 -> 4 -> and 6 on the right set.
*The red candle in spot 7 on the left set is already lit.

After you�ve figured this puzzle out, you�ll receive the TATTOOED STAKE 3. Now
you�ll have to trek it all the way back to the 2F Stairs Hallway. Now to get
there: return first to the Bell hallway, by going through the Closet Hallway
that�s below the Kimono Room. Once here, exit the Bell Hallway enter the Grave
Courtyard, then go through the Stained Corridor then enter the Stairs Hallway.

~~ Stairs Hallway ~~
Pick up the PURIFYING CANDLE from the area underneath the middle stairs. Go
save your game, then proceed back up the stairs and enter the Room with Blind
if it�s your second or more time through the game.

~~ Room with Blind ~~

!! SECRET GHOST #3 WOMAN IN CLOSET !!
        SECOND PLAYTHROUGH

If it�s your second or more time through the game you can catch a secret ghost
here. Walk right up to the opening in the closet and aim your camera down at
the Japanese doll. Move your camera a little bit away from the doll to catch
this ghost.

Head back to the Stairs hallway when you�re done.

~~ Stairs Hallway ~~

Walk all the way to the back of the room and push the dresser aside. Once
you�ve done that go through the door.

~~ Grave Courtyard � Roof ~~

Walk out onto the roof and walk across to the door on the other side then enter
it.

~~ Closed Tatami Room ~~

Pick up the PURPLE DIARY 4 from off the floor. Don�t read it though, because
*look below!

** CRYING WOMAN **

As soon as you�re done reading this diary, the CRYING WOMAN will appear behind
you. Quickly enter the viewfinder and spin around to catch her.

Make sure to pick up the Type Zero Film that�s in the dresser.

!! SECRET GHOST #2 KYOKA KUZE !!
      SECOND PLAYTHROUGH

Stand on the pillow on the floor next to the mirror and aim down at the mirror
stand to take this ghosts� picture.

You�re going to have to open the door that�s on the floor where the ghost was
standing to gain access to the next room. Do so, and then climb down the
ladder.

~~ Hearth Room ~~

~~ GHOST BATTLE � WOMAN BRUSHING ~~
Recommended Film: Type 14

You don�t really need an explanation do you? Just pound her with some type 14
film until she�s defeated.

When you finish her off, you�ll receive the upgraded lens PIERCE with a file.
Make sure as always to pick up the nightly HERBAL MEDICINE and then go up the
stairs to save your game.

When you�re ready to move on, climb up the ladder on the right side of the room
and go through the door here.

~~ Tatami Loft ~~

Pick up the PURIFYING CANDLE that�s on the right side and then go down the
stairs in the back picking up the Type 14 Film along the way. Once at the
bottom, go through the small door.

~~ Doll Altar South ~~

!! SECRET GHOST #20 � HANDMAIDEN SHIGURE !!
           SECOND PLAYTHROUGH

If this is your second time or more through the game you can pick up this
secret ghost here. Stand next to the table aim your camera down and to the
right of it. You may have to back up a few steps if you�re too close. When
you�re positioned correctly, snap her photo.

Examine this last altar for the final stake. Light the candles in this order.
I�ve numbered the candles 1-9 in a clockwise fashion so that candle number 1 is
the top candle, 5 is the bottom candle and 9 is the middle candle.

Solution, light candles: 1 -> and 6
* The red candle in spot 8 is already lit.

This last puzzle will give you the TATTOOED STAKE 4. Now we can be on our way.
Make your way all the way back to the Garden Corridor.

First save your game then enter the middle doors leading into the Shrine
Courtyard.

~~ Shrine Courtyard ~~

Pick up the nightly HERBAL MEDICINE from the right side of the Courtyard. Enter
the doors leading to the Engraving Shrine when you�re ready.

If you need a candle there�s on up on the beams if you climb the ladder in the
back. Just don�t touch that STONE MIRROR yet! Sheesh how many times do I have
to tell ya?

Go behind the screen behind the shine enter the door there.

~~ Last Passage ~~

Walk all the way down the stairs and go through the door at the bottom.

~~ Abyss ~~

Walk down some more stairs to reach the bottom and battle a ghost!

~~ GHOST BATTLE � KUZE FAMILY HEAD ~~
Recommended Film: Type 14

She�s no different than before so simply take her down with strong lens such as
ZERO or PIERCE. Keep moving around, since you have plenty of space and dodge
her hand attack. The only thing different about this ghost is that she has a
little more health then before.

Save your game afterwards and then head through the door.

~~ Abyss of the Horizon ~~

We�ve got two secret ghosts to catch if it�s your second or more time through
the game! If not, just continue down the cave and walk up to the door to end
this dream. Oh and say goodbye to Kei as you�ll no longer get to play as him.

!! SECRET GHOST #31 - FLOWING SOULS !!
         SECOND PLAYTHROUGH

Walk to the northeast side of the chamber that�s up ahead and aim the camera at
the small hole in the cave to catch this ghost.

!! SECRET GHOST #30 � IMPLAED PRIESTESSESS !!
         SECOND PLAYTHROUGH

Walk up to the doors in viewfinder mode slowly, the whole time keeping your
focus on the door in front of you. When the circle turns blue stop where you�re
standing and take the shot! Be noted that if you move to close to the doors the
night will end without you getting this picture.


Enter the door to end the dream.

Save your game and then head downstairs to check in on Kei.

~~ Living Room ~~

Well...I guess he�s not here...anymore...Anyways, check his luggage to acquire
KEI�S RESEARCH NOTES and the OLD TAPE �OTOTSUKI.�

Play the OTOTSUKI tape in Rei�s tape player. After the woman�s voice starts
talking to you through the radio, pick it up and walk over to Miku�s room and
go inside.

Walk to the center of the room so Rei can pull down the ladder leading into the
attic. Climb up the ladder.

~~ Attic ~~

** ATTIC WOMAN **

Enter the viewfinder and walk to the back of the room. The woman will appear in
front of you so snap her picture.

After capturing her, check the bookshelf to the right and pick up the MASTER
AND SNAKE file. Then check the bookshelf on the left to pick up the ECHO STONE
EARRING, THE OTHER WORLD file and the film OTOTSUKI.

Leave this room and go into Rei�s Room.

** GIRL UNDER DESK **

When you enter Rei�s Room, a girl will be hiding under her desk! (No way, who
would�ve thought!) For this one you�ll have to aim down and to the left to get
the shot.

After she�s removed herself from Rei�s desk, save your game and fall back

take the pictures of the two girls. You�ll have to take both pictures
separately to have them both count.

Head back to the Hearth Room.

Go up the ladder that�s on the right side of the room and enter the door here.

~~ Closed Tatami Room ~~

Make your way to the stairs hallway 3F (the middle stair case.) And enter the
door here leading to the Attic Room.

Walk over to the joint in the floor and open it to enter the Enclosed Room.

** HANDMAIDEN�S LAST x2 **

There are two priestess girls lying on the floor in this room. Do not get to
close to them, as they will disappear quickly. Simply raise your camera and aim
down to get both their photos. After taking these photos you�ll be thrown into
battle.

~~ GHOST BATTLE � PRIESTESS GIRL ~~

Well, she�s the same type of flying priestess you�ve seen before. Nothing too
much to worry about, just wail on her with some type 14 film and she�ll go down
in no time.

After the battle, pick up the RED DIARY 2 that the priestess girl left for you.
Now, go back into the Stairs Hallway and go through the door leading to the
Room with Blind if it�s your second or more time though the game.

If it�s your second or more time through the game you can enter this room to
find a secret ghost. Enter the section that has the blind around the bed. Stand
near the opening that�s between the window on the wall and the bed. Aim your
camera at the lump on the floor underneath the blanket to get this photo.

Leave here and return now to the Blind Room by going to Himuro Mansion.

~~ Blind Room ~~

Once you�ve reached this room, pick up your first mirror piece, MIRROR FRAGMENT
3 that�s in the area behind the blind. Make sure to pick up the nightly HERBAL
MEDICINE from behind the folding screen before making your way to the Garden
Corridor.

~~ Garden Corridor ~~

Walk down the little steps in front of the tree and pick up the MIRROR FRAGMENT
1 from the ground. Enter the door leading to the Barred Hallway.

~~ Barred Hallway ~~

While walking around this hallway, don�t forget to pickup the nightly HERBAL
MEDICINE. Enter the door at the end leading to the Projection Room.

~~ Projection Room ~~

In front of the projection screen is the MIRROR FRAGMENT 5. Don�t forget to
pick up the nightly Type 14 Film and make sure to check the projection itself
for a new film: HORIZON. Return now to the Bell Hallway by going through the
middle door.

Walk into the Closet Hallway from here.

~~ Closet Hallway ~~

Pick up the PURIFYING CANDLE before going up the stairs that lead to the Kimono
Room.

~~ Kimono Room ~~

Walk to the back of the room and enter the double doors here that will lead you
to the Hanging Prison.

~~ Hanging Prison ~~

Enter the cage here and pick up the MIRROR FRAGMENT 2 along with the upgraded
lens, PIERCE with file. If it�s your second time through the game you can get a
secret ghost while you�re in here.

!! SECRET GHOST #13 � REIKA KUZE !!
        SECOND PLAYTHROUGH

Exit the cage at this time and move towards the left side of the cage. Aim your
camera at the blanket that�s on the floor of the cage to capture this ghost.

Afterwards, head back into the Kimono Room, once there head to the Barred
Hallway then open the door in the back to enter the Wooden Figure Room.

!! SECRET GHOST #15 � UNENGRAVED WOMAN !!

Before you pick up any items (since you�ll be instantly transported out of this
room if you do) stand on the left hand side of the altar between the two wooden
statues. Aim your camera at the left corner of the altar to capture this ghost.

Don�t forget to pick up the PURIFYING LIGHT and the MIRROR FRAGMENT 4 that�s
atop the altar in the middle of the room before leaving. Now that you have all
the mirror fragments, you�ll receive the TATTOOED DIARY 2 and be instantly
transported to the Garden Corridor.

~~ Garden Corridor ~~

Save your game when you arrive here and then walk through the double doors
ahead.

~~ Shrine Courtyard ~~

On the right side, as usual, is the nightly HERBAL MEDICINE.

** SHRINE WOMAN **

Stand directly in front of the stairs that lead down into the courtyard and
turn around to face the engraving shrine. Raise your camera and aim towards the
doors as you begin walking forward going under the shrine gate. The SHRINE
WOMAN will appear right in front of you.
** WOMAN IN BLIND **

Immediately when you walk into the room, raise your camera and enter the
viewfinder mode. Aim straight ahead towards the altar behind the blinds. She�s
standing right in front you of. You may need to move forward before your
capture circle will turn blue though.

~~ GHOST BATTLE � KUZE FAMILY HEAD ~~
Recommended Film: Type 14

Well she is just like the rest of her kind so bash away with the Type 14 Film
and follow the same drill like you have been. She�ll go down without a problem
and you can move on.

All right, remember that STONE MIRROR I�ve been telling you not to get? Well
now that you�re Rei climb up the Ladder and pick it up already! While you�re up
here, you might as well pick up the PURIFYING CANDLE. Once you�re done, climb
back down the ladder and place the MIRROR of LOSS on the altar. This will open
up the screen in the back of the room on the right hand side and allow you
passage through it.

~~ Last Passage ~~

First, as usual save your game then proceed down the stairs. Once you enter
this door you can�t exit so make absolutely sure you�re ready to got though
before opening the doors. Open the door when you�re ready and start the next
hour within the same dream.

As you walk along the path, notice to your right that there is a small shrine
on a mini island. The woman will appear standing right in front of the shrine.

When the picture taking is over, walk over to the shrine and pick up the Type
14 Film and the SACRED WATER. When you�re done here, approach the door at the
end and pass through them.

~~ Abyss ~~

** BECKONING WOMAN X2 **

As you enter this room the screen will turn to a monochrome color. Immediately,
get into viewfinder mode and take the pictures of the two women before they
disappear. They will appear to the left and right side of you so just take
their shots.

Walk up to the cage to initiate a cut scene.

After the cut scene, if this is your second or more time through the game you
can catch a secret ghost here.

!! SECRET GHOST #28 � ABYSS DEAD !!
        SECOND PLAYTHROUGH

After the cut scene, move over to the right side, right before walking down the
stairs and face the hanging rope. Aim your camera at the rope then pan down so
that you�re looking at the bottom of the room; the abyss. Simply take the shot
once you�ve got a clear view of the abyss.

All set? Then proceed down the spiral stairs, crossing the beams and getting
yourself into a fight.

~~ GHOST BATTLE � PRIESTESS GIRL X3 ~~
Recommended Film: Type 14

If you can, get down the stairs and fight them on the bottom where you fought
them previously. You�ll have much more room down here and won�t have to worry
about the in game�s camera angles. However, if you can�t make it down the
stairs try to fight them one at a time. The first girl will attack you while
you�re the first beam while the second two will come after you when you cross
the second beam. Try not to figure on getting many Fatal Frames this battle
since they�ll be flying around so much, just try to get in a Shutter Chance
every now and then and try to take as many fully charged shots as possible.

After the battle, make your way down the stairs (unless you�re already on the
bottom) and pick up the TATTOOED DIARY 3 that�s lying in front of the cage.
When you�re ready, save your game at the lantern and head through the doors.

~~ Last Passage ~~

Make sure to pick up the Type 14 Film and SACRED WATER along the way as you
make your way across the bridge to the door.

!! SECRET GHOST #29 � DROWNED MAN !!

When you reach the shrine gate at the end, move to the left while still
standing in front of the gate and aim your camera. Make sure your camera is
aimed at the railing so that you can see some water and take a shot of this
secret ghost.

When you�re all set go through the door.

~~ Abyss of the Horizon ~~

Walk through this area to the back where a shrine stands and enter the doors
here for a cut scene. Immediately after the cut scene the final battle will
commence!

~~ FINAL BATTLE � REIKA ~~
Recommended Film: Type Zero, 90 or 61

Well, you made it to the final ghost battle; the showdown with the Tattooed
Priestess, Reika!
As soon as the battle starts, equip your camera as fast as possible and hold it
over Reika while she stands near the door, allowing you to charge your shot.
For the most part, Reika will come straight for you as her first attack and the
added charge you just gave her will help in taking off more damage in the
beginning.
Her main annoyance is to constantly teleport from one side of the screen to the
other fairly quickly. Her Shutter Chance can be obtained as she walks towards
you and tries to grab you. As she approaches you, stay in the viewfinder mode
and continue to back up until she lunges for you and you�ll have a great
Shutter Chance. Her other attack is when she flies up into the air and makes a
dive for you. Run from her by moving in zigzag patterns to avoid her attack.
The ONLY chance you have for her Fatal Frame come during this attack. If
correctly timed, when she is diving towards you, quickly turn around and aim up
as she dives to catch her Fatal Frame. The trick is to move quickly because if
you miss the chance to Fatal Frame her she will, and I repeat WILL make contact
with you and you will die...unless you�re carrying a Stone Mirror. My
recommendation would be if you are going to risk this shot, have an upgraded
lens such as the Zero or Crush lens to add some major damage to her during her
most vulnerable moment.
After a while, the screen will change to monochrome and a skull will begin the
float around Reika covering her in a thick miasma. If at any time during this
monochrome phase Reika catches you, you will die...unless you�re carrying a
Stone Mirror. The only way to avoid certain doom is to run! Again, use the
zigzag pattern and try not to run in the straight line as it makes Reika�s
ability to catch you a little easier. As soon as the miasma field fades away,
continue the battle as before using high powered film and upgraded lens to
finish this ghost off for good!

After this grueling battle is over, watch the awesome cut scene at the end and
give yourself a big pat on the back for completing this game.

ghosts (which are all the hidden ghosts in the game) but as you replay the game
a second time the list expands to show you the complete list of all 217 ghosts!

    B)  Missions

When you start a new game, the option �mission� becomes available to you. With
the option you can now enter a series of battles using the different characters
from the main game to fight all the ghosts you�ve defeated before. Although
this time, you�ll have objectives to meet and if you get a high enough score
you�ll win nifty prizes such as new clothes and camera equipment! ^_^

I�m going to briefly describe the various battles, the objective you need to
meet to get the highest score, who you�ll be playing as and which ghosts you�ll
need to defeat. This guide will NOT be going through the different strategies
in accomplishing these tasks how you go about defeating the ghosts is
completely up to you since there is no �one way� to do it. A good guide to
check out is S-Rank Missions Guide by FatalFrame_Fan at Game FAQS if you need
some basic pointers.
