It may work with the other versions (and probably does), but that is not garunteed. As far as I know everything in this guide is correct, but if you see an error you may be playing a different version. If you aren't then go ahead and write me about it. Hello and welcome to my first guide ever written. I decided to write this guide to help others avoid the headache I got trying to get 100%. This guide is Copyright 2004 me (Jeremy Prader), though honestly I don�t care if you reproduce it or �steal� it or whatever. I wrote this guide to help people with this game, and so the more people that see it the better. If you do post it somewhere else, it would be nice if you gave me credit, but you don�t even have to do that. I do, however, request that if you want to post my guide somewhere else you at least email me to tell me. Thank you, and I hope you find my guide helpful. A few things to note. You may notice I use �DU� a lot. If you didn�t know, that means �Dragon Universe.� Also, anytime I say something has to be done on the second playthrough, it really means second or more (you could do it on the third, fourth, twentieth ect.). Finaly, the "Frozen Island" is the Island to the Northeast, and "Piccolo's Island" is the one to the Northwest. All the other landmarks I give you should know, or at least will get to know eventually. ****Contact Information**** Note: Before you contact me read the "Frequently Asked Questions" section. There is a really good chance your question is in there. I no longer answer stupid questions (I used to answer all questions). By stupid questions I mean ones that are in the "Frequently Asked Questions" section, questions that can be answere if you actually bothered to read the guide, and any question that has the word "Gotenks" in it. From now on I will be forced to block anyone who asks me about Gotenks. I'm not a mean guy, people. You're just slowly driving me insane with all the stupid questions. So AIM is a POSSIBLE faster way to get an answer, but email is a DEFINATE, slightly slower way to get an answer. Things I want: Sure fire ways to get certain capsules that I don�t already have, corrections to sure fire ways to get certain capsules that I do have. Any tips on the "How to get Money" section is also good, as well as the "Easy Leveling" section. Things I don�t want: Flames (duh). If you don�t like my guide, don�t read it. I also don�t want random capsule locations from DU mode. There is just too many of them. I aslo don't want anything from the "Frequently Asked Questions" section, it's there for a reason people. Finally, nothing about Bulma/Baba's crystal Ball's, or any other capsules not listed in the guide. If they aren't in the list, then they aren't in the game. Please do not contact me asking for capsule locations, I cannot stress this enough. Everything I know about how to get a capsule is in its description, if it doesn't say how to get it then you need to buy it. I can't handle hundreds of requests because people are too lazy to read. If you are having too much trouble, use the very handy search function (press crtl+f if you didn't know). ****How to get Money**** As you can probably tell, you are going to need a lot of money. I don�t have prices for the capsules, and I probably never will, other than the fact that ultimates cost 50,000 (except for those who have a DU, then its only 10,000), Breakthroughs cost 75,000, and memories cost 100,000. So, as I said, you are going to need a lot of money. Note that you can only have 990,000 at a time, so don�t think you can get like 50 million and get everything in one blow. There are many ways to get money, I will list the two best here. I used the second one, as it�s a guaranteed 50,000. Using the first method you risk losing in the fourth round and getting nothing or losing in the finals and only getting half. The second method would only take you slightly longer than the first to get 250,000. 1. Equip Sparking!!!!!!! and win the Wold Martial Arts Tournament Cell Games or Advanced. I would suggest Advanced cause you can ring out, of course that�s a double edged sword. You wont have any moves because Sparking!!!!!!! takes all slots. Doing this will get you 250,000 from either tournament. darknstormy2040 wrote: "I played the World Tournament - Advanced, because you can always net yourself a quick win with a ring out... When they attack you, you will teleport behind them and knock them out. Of course, sometimes they will counter your teleport with one of their own, so the key is to use a character whose base ki level allows you to teleport twice, so you can counter them back... Kid Buu and Omega Shenron are good characters to use since they have a base ki value of 6 and 7 bars repectively." 2. Use the Kid Gohan money trick. To do this you must be playing his DU mode a second time. Here is the map for this trick, which I made using someone else�s map (I don�t know whose or I would give them credit) and photo shopping a picture of my TV screen I took with my digital camera. http://img17.exs.cx/img17/6028/d2mbudokai350g.jpg First go to point 1 to get 5,000. Then go to point 2 to talk to Goku. Go to point three for another 5,000. Then point 4 to get 12,000. Then point 5 to get 23,000. finally head to point 6 for the last 5,000 to make an ever 50,000. You need to talk to Goku for money to appear at point 4 and 5. ****Easy Leveling**** Not much too this section yet, just a few tips: 1. Equip WE GOTTA POWER!!!! (or the best you can) and fight the hardest possible opponents in Dragon Arena on the World Tournament Stage and try to ring out. Use the hardest possible difficulty (Z3 if you have it). 2. In Dragon Universe equip the best WE GOTTA POWER!!!! capsule you have and put the game on the hardest difficulty. Also equip a 1/2 Senzu Bean for protection, then find a battle point where you can fight Saibamen. Try to kill them, but if they blow themselves up you should still survive and win. Thanks to optimum45 for this. 3. Equip WE GOTTA POWER!!!!, Viral Heart Disease, and Vaccine. Then play on the hardest difficulty, use Vaccine ASAP and run away until your opponent has half a health bar left and finish him off. This was also sent in by optimum45. ****Dragonball Locations**** To get 100% you will need to collect all 7 dragonballs at LEAST 22 times (twice in all 11 DU modes). This is a list of all of their locations in each DU mode. There is a radar (sometimes more than one) in each saga. I will list those and their locations, and then the locations of the dragon balls under them. An extremely large majority of these (especially the equipment and item capsules) are just find them randomly around DU mode, or buy them in the item shop. At least for now. ***Ability Capsules*** Breakthroughs and fusions take up all 7 slots. Everything else except Buu�s Absorption, which takes 3, take only one. All moves except transformations can be equipped twice if you have two of those capsules for more power. **Ultimates** To get the ultimates of those who do not have a DU, after you unlock all players (with the possible exception of Cell Jr and Saibamen, but I would suggest you get those guys anyway) the capsule shop will sell ultimates for 50,000 each. The ultimates of those who do have DU�s can either be found in their DU�s or bought when they appear randomly in the capsule shop. **Breakthroughs** To get breakthroughs for those who do not have a DU, first get the breakthroughs for the 11 characters who have DUs. Then, after you buy all Ultimates you can then buy Baba Crystal Ball 000, after you get that you can buy Baba Crystal Ball 001, after you get that you can buy breakthroughs for 75,000 each. **Goku** Kaioken --- Get automatically in his DU. Super Saiyan --- Get automatically in his DU. Super Saiyan 2 --- Get automatically in his DU. Super Saiyan 3 --- Get automatically in his DU. Super Saiyan 4 --- Can be found in Goku�s DU. Either use a successful Spirit Bomb against Kid Buu, then check the islands east of the World Martial Arts Tournament for a ???, or follow the steps to fight Broly [see Fusion (Gogeta)] but before you fight him check the same island as above. Kamehameha --- Get automatically in his DU. Dragon fist --- Find or Buy Warp Kamehameha --- Find in Goku�s DU. �Plains� area near the Cell games during the android saga. Spirit Bomb --- Get automatically in his DU. Fusion (Gogeta) --- In Goku�s DU a second time, after seeing Gohan absorbed by Buu, check the desert by Baba�s for a ??? where you talk to Hercule. Then find another ??? in the desert west of the marker to fight Super Buu. You will see a knocked out Tien. Then find a �Mountains� area near Tien where you will talk to Kibitoshin. Now fight Super Buu, and after you fight Buu inside his own body you will fight Broly instead of Kid Buu. Grandpa Gohans House --- In Kid Gohan�s DU a second time, instead of fighting Piccolo, go to the forest north of Goku�s house to talk to Goku, then fight him at Grandpa Gohan�s House. Planet Namek --- Beat Recoome in DU (can be done with a number of characters). Cell Ring --- Defeat Perfect Cell in Goku�s DU. Supreme Kai�s World --- Defeat Kid Buu in Goku�s DU. Inside Buu --- Defeat Super Buu inside of himself in Goku�s and Vegeta�s DU (you will get it after you beat him with the second character). Red Ribbon Base --- Unlock Dragon Arena (Beat all 11 DUs). *For the difficutly capsules, you only need to defeat the final opponent of someones DU on the necessary difficulty to get the capsule. So the easiest way to get them would play Yamcha's first two fights on normal or easy, then save and quit and put the difficulty at the needed level. Yamcha's third and final fight is in the World Tournament so you can get a ring out for an easy win.* Goku�s Wish --- Unlocks Z difficulty. Get it for beating someone�s DU at very hard difficulty. The Path to Power --- Unlocks Z2 difficulty. Get it for beating someone�s DU at Z difficulty. Endless Path to Power --- Unlocks Z3 difficulty. Get it for beating someone�s DU at Z2 difficulty. Help! I only have XX%! A. Best advice, write down or print out the Simple Capsule List and compare it to your in game Skill List to find out what you are missing. Then go look at the Detail Capsule List to find out how to get it. If you email or IM me asking how to get a certain capsule, I probably will respond (I'm a nice guy) but more likely then not I'll just repeat to you what my guide says. Q. I'm having trouble unlocking a capsule. How do I get it? A. Look it up in the Detail Capsule List. If you ask me through email or AIM, 99.9% of the time I'm just gonna tell you the exact same thing that the Detail Capsule List says. Also note that for Item and Equipment Capsules, if they don't have an explenation on how to get them, then either I bought mine or found it in DU mode and forget where. Here is a little trick that I have heard of but not tested: If you have 9 of a capsule it will no longer appear in the shop, so if you are really having trouble getting a capsule, just buy every capsule of the same type each time you enter the shop. I have not verified this, and assuming this is true, you should definately use it as a last resort, as this would be insanely expensive and possibly as time consuming as acctually searching for the capsule. Plus if you were going for an ability or equipment capsule (red or green) you could have to buy hundreds of capsules. Q. The capsule shop is only selling the same 3 Ultimates over and over. Why is this? A. The most common number here is three. If it is three for you, then the problem is you haven't unlocked Hercule. If it is a different number then you havent unlocked someone else. The way the capsule shop works is it sells ultimate moves in a set order, and when it comes to the ultimate of someone you haven't unlocked, it begins the whole list over. Best way to avoid this: UNLOCK EVERY CHARACTER BEFORE YOU START BUYING ULTIMATES! Q. Do you know the code to get... A. No. I do not know codes. I do not use codes. Codes are not needed for this game. Also, the codes to unlock movies and characters only make the capsule appear in the skill list. However you still cannot actually use the characters or view the movies, so codes are completely useless. Q. I need help with a glitch. A. Sorry, I can't help you here. I did not run into any glitches on my playthroughs so I don't know how to fix them. Q. Help! I can't get Gotenks! A. For some reason, even though it is clearly stated in my guide that the only way I know how to get him is to buy him in the shop, 2 or 3 people a day feel the need to ask me how to get him. This causes me to believe one of two things: 1. Gotenks is, for some reason beyond me (I found him rather annoying), extremely popular as well as harder to get than I thought. 2. People who love Gotenks are idiots who can't follow directions and/or read. This is all just a roundabout way of me saying: STOP ASKING ME! Q. What are the memories and how do I use them? A. The memories are unlock the voice data for the given character. For Example if you have Goku's memories, you can listen to everything Goku says in the game, from his quotes in Dragon Universe, to his saying before, after, and during battles (including the grunting and screaming). To listen to them go the Dragon Universe sub menu, where you can select New Story or Continue, the bottom option should be "Bonus". Q. How do I get this person to breakin to the Dragon Arena? A. Luck. No, really. Breakins are random so as long as your level and Your oponents level are around the benchmarks in this guide, you should have someone breakin eventually. There is nothing I can tell you that will make someone garunteed to breakin. However, here is a tip: Select your character, then select your oponent, then select the stage. You should get the message "Someone has broken in!" around the time the metal gate reaches the top. If you do not get this, then as soon as the fight starts pause the game and go to Reselect Characters. This will take you back to the place where you pick your oponent, so just pick them again and the stage again. Repeat until someone breaks in. This little trick saves a lot of time, as well as making sure your character doesn't gain levels and grow out of the necessary range. ****Special Thanks**** Thanks to Atari for making this game, my roomate for helping me out with dragonball locations, and thanks to those of you who wrote guides or sent in Codes&Secrets for the game.
