I've enjoyed the Atelier series ever since the first Atelier game, Atelier Iris, came over to the United States back in 2005. It has that feeling of an old 2D RPG, which I still adore since I grew up with them. After Atelier Iris 2 left me with a bitter taste in my mouth, I was looking forward to AI3 being shipped over. Now that it's here, I'm hoping to enjoy it as much as I did with the first Atelier Iris game. =================== 2.) Basics =================== Here are a few of the basic elements of Atelier Iris 3. --------- Fighting --------- As you can already guess, you'll be doing a lot of fighting in this game since it is an RPG after all. The battles are turn based. You can tell who is going next by the cards at the top. Fights are pretty simple. You attack to win. Whoever is standing last is victorious, and for your sake, I hope it's you. The battle system however does have a new little twist to it, which I'll mention shortly. It should also be mentioned that you can actually see the enemies on the screens as little blobs. There are four different colors. Blue ones are weak ones and can be taken out with a single stroke of Edge's sword. Grey ones are the same level as you, and Red ones contain an enemy or enemies that have higher levels than you and are stronger. Purple ones are event ones that are used for Quests. --------- Alchemy --------- Like with any other Atelier game, you'll be doing a handful of alchemy as well. However, unlike the previous 2 Iris games, you don't exactly find all your recipes by finding them in chests. When you use alchemy, Iris's Alchemy Level will slowly rise, and eventually she'll gain a level. When she does, her stats will go up and she'll think of new recipe ideas. These ideas aren't complete. To complete them, look for little Iris icons floating over certain items that match her ideas. You'll recognize these icons since they have Iris's face on them. You can also combine different ingredients to make new recipes. --------- Blades --------- After reaching a certain point in the game, you'll be able to change what type of Blade you wield/are. You can think of this as a class changing type of system. Each Blade has their own function, and you can learn a different set of skills as you level each Blade up. Deciding which Blade you want to use is up to you. --------- Dungeons --------- In Atelier Iris 3, you take up quests, in which some of them lead you to dungeons, or Alterworlds. These dungeons are timed, meaning if you don't complete them in a set amount of time, you'll be warped out of that dungeon. You can re-enter it with all the items in chests you obtained already if you are indeed kicked out. Some quests require you to visit previously visited areas. --------- Quests --------- As forementioned above, Atelier Iris 3 is based off the quest system. There are different types of quests ranging from investigating something to obtaining an item for something else. Rewards for each quest differ. Sometimes you'll gain Guild Experience and items. Other times you'll gain Cole and items. Certain quests have certain ranks required to complete them, so make sure to do any quest you can. --------- Burst --------- Here's the new twist that I was talking about when I mentioned the battle system. You may notice at the bottom of the screen a meter named Burst. As you attack, this will fill up, and as you are attacked, it will decrease. Once it's full, your Skill Gauge will reach 9 and all of your skills will do a lot more damage. All of the enemies are stunned as well momentarily. You can also chain hits, which can increase your Blade Points, Exp, or Cole. =================== 4.) Walkthrough =================== A few things to note. First off, I won't be putting any plot spoilers in this guide. I want you to enjoy the game as it was meant to be made and not be spoiled by anything. Also, since Atelier Iris 3 is a 2D RPG, my directions are based off of such: N E \/ XX /\ W S I thought I'd clear that up so you don't get confused with my directions. NOTE2: It has come to my attention that the Fetch quests may differ from what I have put down. If my number looks different from what you need to do, then that's why. Many thanks to The Keeper for pointing this out to me. After the opening scenes, you'll get into a fight with 3 Punis. Any Atelier fan knows that these won't give you any trouble, so waste them. After they're done, another scene occurs and you're left to navigate through the town. O-----------O | Chapter 1 | O-----------O (CH1) ============== Zey Meruze ============== One thing to note here, I had no idea at first that the brown bags contained random items, so if I list an item that doesn't match what you get, that's why. Since I already wrote down what I got from the brown bags for the first two areas of the game, I'll write those down, but after that, I'll only list the items that are in the chests. Also, brown bags do respawn. From where you start, head east until you reach a fork. Head north over the bridge and then east to find a pair of Paw Gloves. Backtrack to the fork and go east and then south to the next screen. Continue south and open the chest for a Cure Jar. At the four way split here, go east to find a Spinacherb. Watch the scene here and continue east until you reach another fork. Go north and you'll find a couple of stores. Browse if you want. Go east and get the Gash Twig here and continue east to find a chest that has a Heal Jar in it. Backtrack to the fork and go south this time and grab the brown bag for 32 Cole. Now go east to find a Nicro Cloth and backtrack to the fork and go east and enter the building here. Watch the scene and select the only quest from the Bulletin Board. By the way, once there are multiple quests on the bulletin board, you're free to choose whichever you want to do, but I'll write this guide based on how I completed them. After you get the quest, exit and go west to reach the four way split and go north. Continue north and then turn east and continue on and enter the building. After the scene, exit the building and another scene will occur. You'll then get an option to view the Fairy Taxi Tutorial. How cute. Do so if you wish and you'll arrive at your workshop for another scene. You'll get an option to view the Workshop Tutorial if you want to. After you're done here, exit and grab the Legien Ore and go east and at the fork, go south to find 17 Cole. Go west to find Salt and then follow the main path until you reach the four way split. Go north and west and continue following the path until you reach the portal. ========================== Ancient Forest of Valtessa ========================== NOTE: I'll try my best to cover each dungeon as best as I can so you can get all of the items, but with a time limit, you'll need to run through an area multiple times most likely. You'll notice that once the dungeon starts, you'll have a time limit to finish it. If you're not able to finish the quest in time, you'll be booted out of the Alterworld, but you can go back in with all the brown bags being reset so that you can get them again. Once you gain control, head north through the opening in the side of the cliff. Continue north and then turn and go west to find a brown bag containing a Belgrade Potato or any other item. Go south to the next screen to find another brown bag that has either a Zuftuff Water or any other item. Cut the grass here and open the chest for a Healing Ankh and grab the red crystal here as well. Backtrack and go north and jump on the ledges to make your way up and go east to reach a fork. Go south to find a Belgrade Potato or any other item and go back to the fork and go east to find an Elchie or any other item. At the next fork, go north to find a Zuftuff Water or any other item and backtrack to the fork and go east. You'll find a nearby chest once you enter. Open it up for the Magic Staff. After getting it, an enemy will jump out from the bushes. You'll fight a small mini battle here against a Platinum Puni. It's not that difficult. Just keep spamming Edge's Pyre Bunker to get rid of it quickly. You'll most likely go into a Burst mode during this fight, so make sure to take advantage of it by using Iris's best multi hitting skills to rack up more hits and damage whereas Edge should keep spamming Pyre Bunker. After the fight, head south and grab the Burdock Sraight and the Uni and then go east and pick up the yellow crystal here. Continue to the east for a Zuftuff Water or any other item and then go north and cut the grass to make a path to the chest. Open it up for a Mysterious Seed. Go back and go east this time for more Zuftuff Water or any other item and at the fork, go north and follow the path. Continue to the east to find a Belgrade Potato or any other item and then go north for a stole. Backtrack a bit and go east and then south and then east again for a Puniball. At the next fork, go north to find a Gash Twig and go back and then go east until you find another set of Puniballs (get your mind out of the gutter.) Continue to the south until you reach a fork. Go south to find a Zuftuff Water or any other item. You can drop down but it's hard to get back up. If you drop down, you'll find a Uni or any other item. Backtrack and go east and then north to another fork. Go west and you'll find two ledges that you need to jump across. Do so and pick up the Time Fragment here and open the two chests for a Mysterious Seed and a Nectar. Jump back across the ledges and go east. Continue east until you reach a fork. Go south at the fork for a few items and then backtrack and go east for another item and then east a bit more for a chest that has a Heal Jar in it. Open up your menu and warp back to town now. ============== Zey Meruze ============== You should have a good grasp of the town now, and if you get lost, you can always bring up your map by pushing Start to help you get around town, so I won't list directions on how to get to buildings anymore. Make your way to the Scripture Library and talk with Ewan. He's got a Quest bubble over his head, so you can't really miss him. After talking with him, watch the scene and the Quest will be completed. Afterwards, make your way to the Guild and go a bit east to find two chests containing 210 Cole and Flour. Now check out the Bulletin Board and select the Medicine Delivery Quest and talk with Anna. Go back to your workshop and examine the Iris Icon (it's the thing with Iris winking) and then Synthesize 5 Heal Jars. Now go the General Store and talk with Yach (he reminds me of Ichimaru Gin from Bleach for some reason). Now go back to the Guild and watch the scene here. Go talk with the person on the right side of the counter to get some items and then talk with Anna once more. The quest will then be completed. Grab any other Quests from the bulletin board and accept the one requested by Pukko. Go to the Beastmen Quarters to find him adn talk with him. Now go to the guild and enter the second room and talk with Phenyl and then go back to Pukko. Watch the scenes and the quest will be completed. Now let's do the Everyone's Dream quest. You need to find Wild Meat x3 for Eva of the Tavern. The Bears in the Valtessa Forest drop them, so get them and go visit Eva and that quest will be completed. Finally, do the quest titled "Reuniting the Beastmen" and go to the Beastmen Quarter, enter the chiefs house and talk with Cerber. Now go visit Ewan and enter the portal. =============== Grimoire Castle =============== The Caterpillars that you need to kill are the purple colored blobs on the screen. There are a bunch here, but you only need to kill 5 of them. Enter the castle. Head a bit north to find the first Caterpillar. Now go east to find two more, and then go back to the split and go north to find the last two. Let's explore the place some more before leaving. Go through the door here. Go east and grab the item bag here and open the chest for some Salt. At the fork, go north and through the door and pick up the item bag in here and open the chests for a Legien Ore and a Flame. Go back to the fork and continue to the south and break the crates you come across. There's a secret passage behind the wall with a few item bags, so get them if you want. Now continue along to the east and pick up the item big and at the fork, go north through the door and open the chest for an Alchemic Cane. Go back to the fork and go south. Head south a bit and pick up the two item bags here and then go east once given the chance for another item bag. At the next fork, go south past the stairs and open the two chests along the way for a Zettel and a Cure Jar. At the next fork, go east for two more chests containing a Trauer Tarot and a Crunchy Fruit. Go back to the previous fork and go south for an item bag and go through the door here. Open the chest for a Flame and go back and east for an item back. Go east again for two more item bags and then keep following the path until you find a Time Fragment. Go back to the stairs you passed earlier and go up them this time. You'll be at a fork once you enter. Go south and break the crates you come across and open the chest for a Legien Ore. Continue to the east and at the fork, go south and break the barrels here. Go back to set of stairs and go east this time and open the two chests along the way for an 8 Directional Spring and an Eternal Turnkey. Continue going north and go past the next set of stairs. Get the item bag and go north through the door. Go west a couple of times and smash the stuff you come across. Go back to the set of stairs you passed earlier and go up them. Continue along and grab the item bag along the way. Go west and then north for a chest that has a Ring in it. Go west to the next area. Go north here for another item bag and then west through the door. Open the chest here for a Bomb Ice and go back. Go down the ladders and grab the item bag between the desk. At the fork, go east through the door and open the two chests here for a Nectar and a Legien Ore. Go back and go south for another chest that has a Flame Ring in it. Backtrack to the fork in the middle of the library area and go south for an item bag, and then go west. Go west a bit more for two chests containing a Bitter Fruit and Heal Jar. That's it for now. Exit back to town. ============== Zey Meruze ============== Go talk with Cerber at the Beastmen Quarters and the mission will be completed. After the completeion screen, you'll get a statement saying that you have a Mission this time. During Missions, you can't complete quests. Go visit Ewan. After the scene, go back to Grimoire Castle. =============== Grimoire Castle =============== Make your way back to the third floor and go to where the library is. Examine the shining pillar to refill your HP and head west for a scene and a fight. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Alvero ------ This fight shouldn't be too difficult as long as your levels are in the 7-10 range. His attacks are capable of doing nearly 20 damage, and he also has a time attack in which his blades will attack you at a set interval. Counter this by having Edge use Windmill to make some time attacks of your own. Iris should be using Elemental Conversion or healing Edge or herself whereas Edge should be spamming like Pyre Bunker like there's no tomorrow. Once you get into Burst Mode, it's all easy from there. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- After the fight, continue on for another scene. After it, continue west and then go through the door at the end and exmaine the bookcase to reveal a secret passage. Go east and watch the scene. After it, make your way back to Zey Meruze. ============== Zey Meruze ============== Go talk with Ewan, and the mission's over. O-----------O | Chapter 2 | O-----------O (CH2) ============== Zey Meruze ============== -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ If you don't have it already, go to the guild and pick up the quest titled Proof of Alchemy. Pick up any new quests as well. Remember that if you don't have a quest that I have at this point, keep checking back from time to time. To complete Proof of Alchemy, make 6x Philosopher's Ash and bring them to Ella at the Book Store. The quest will then be completed. -------------- Make your way to the Guild and watch the scene and pick up any Quests that are still there. -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Let's do the quest titled "Find my Cat!". Go to the Fountain Area and find Papal (she's usually by the lower part of the area) and talk with her. Now make your way to Valtessa and explore around (HINT: The cat's pretty deep inside the forest, so check everywhere. Bring up your map if you have any troubles) until you find the cat. Go back to Papal and the quest will be completed. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Let's do the quest titled "Jump Steak". By now Iris should have an alchemy idea for some food. Head for the Tavern and examine the Iris ideas that pop up on the screen. Now go back to your work shop and make 5x Steak and go to the Tavern and give it to Eva. That's it for that quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Next for the quest titled "Correct Knowledge". You need to make 7x Medicine X's for Ella, but we don't know what recipe. No problem. Hopefully you still have those Poison Shrooms as a reward from not too long ago. Go to your work shop and replace the first ingredient in the Heal Jar recipe with 7 Poison Shrooms and then add 7 Meruze Waters and 7 Puniballs to make 7 Medicine X's. Now go visit Ella and that quest will be completed. -------------- To complete the final quest we have titled "Combat Exam", go visit the Guild and talk with Phenyl. After the scene, go to the Beastmen Quarters and go all the way to the east to find a portal. Enter it. ====================== Posporia Battlegrounds ====================== Head south to enter the new Alterworld. Go south for an item bag and then follow the path as it bends around until you find an item bag. Grab it and open the two nearby chests for a Fairy Hat and a Mysterious Seed. Continue to the west for another item bag and then go south. At the fork here, go west for an item bag and a chest containing Fairy Clothes. At the next fork, go west again for another item bag and continue going to the west for a second item bag. Open the chest for a Flame and continue along the path for two more item bags. Turn and go north when you can for a chest containing Wild Meat and take the set of stairs. Grab the item bag and the chest for a Nectar and go back down the stairs. Go down the nearby set of stairs for an item bag and then go back up them and continue to the south. Follow the path until you reach an item bag and a chest containing a Heal Jar. Go through the door here. Continue north for an item bag and continue following the linear path, collecting the item bags along the way. Continue on until you reach another item bag and another chest that has a Cure Jar in it. At the next fork, go south. Continue following the linear path until you reach a fork. Go west for an item bag and go through the door. Open the two chests for a Treasurebug Silk and a Wind Slicer. You can't equip this yet. Go back to the fork and go south this time and continue following the path to reach the next screen. Yet another linear path. Follow it and get the item bag along the way. At the next fork, go south to find three chests containing a Medicine X, 530 Cole, and a Leather Cuirass. Go back to the fork and go east this time and follow the path. Continue along until you find another item bag and chest containing a Nicro Cloth. Keep going until you reach the next fork. Go north at it for an item bag and go through the door as well. Open the chest for some Melty Spring Water and go back to the fork and go south for another chest that has some Green Soup in it. Continue along the main path for another chest that has a Monster Bone in it. Once you reach the next fork, go east for an item bag and go through the door. Open the chest for a fairy hat and go back to the fork and go north and follow the path. Keep going until you reach yet another fork. Go south at this one for two item bags and a chest that contains a Glansen Ore. Backtrack to the fork and go north and follow the path here. Go north at the next fork for three chests containing 560 Cole, Fairy Clothes, and a Mysterious Seed. Go back and go south this time and follow the path, picking up the two item bags along the way. Go back to the previous screen and head up the stairs and follow the path until you reach yet another fork. Go west and follow the path here. At the next fork, go north and continue along until you come across a four way split. Go east for a chest that has an Eternal Turnkey and an item bag and continue to the east until you reach another fork. Go north for an item bag then go back to the previous fork and go east this time for another item bag and then go back to the fork once more and go south. Grab the time fragment once you come across it and open the chest for a Wild Meat. Follow the path and get the item bag along the way. Backtrack to the four way split and go south this time. At the next fork, go east and up the stairs and follow the path here. Follow the path and pick up the item bag along the way and watch the scene. Approach the red blob. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Puni Mama --------- The Puni Mama comes with 2 Red Punis and 2 regular Punis. The Puni Mama is just a slightly stronger version than his... err... her counter parts. Waste the weaker Punis first and use Pyre Bunker with Edge and have Iris use whatever since it doesn't matter. Once you get into Burst Mode, Pyre Bunker will obliterate the Puni Mama. All in all, very easy fight. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- There's a time fragment if you keep going, but you can get that if you want. Teleport back to town. ============== Zey Meruze ============== Go visit the Guild and talk with Phenyl. After the scene, the quest is completed and you'll obtain a fishing rod. Exit and some more scenes occur. Afterwards, go back to the Guild and pick up some more quests from the bulletin board. -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the quest titled "Flowers for the Library". Make sure you have a Huffin Blossom and maek your way to the Grimoire Library. Find Pamela and watch the scene. Now make an X-Jar and give it to Pamela, and then give her some water (shouldn't matter which kind you give her) and the quest will be completed after doing that. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Let's do the quest titled "Wanting Attention" now. You need to bring 3x Shifty Eyes to Yach. You can find these as drops by the enemies in the Grimoire Castle (generally the red blobs). Once you get 3 of them, go visit Yach. After the scene, that quest is completed. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Let's complete "Puni Research" now. You need to find and kill 7 Punis in the Valtessa Forest. You'll know which ones to kill as they'll appear on the field screen as purple blobs. There are only 6 at first. Once you kill 6, exit the forest and re-enter and they'll respawn. Kill one more and go and talk with Phenyl at the guild to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Time to do "Alterworld Visit". Go to the fountain area and talk with Kuu. Go over to the portal leading to Valtessa and explore around. Eventually Kuu will reveal a hidden path. Enter it. Go a bit north and once you reach a fork, go west and then turn and go south and follow the path until you reach the next screen. At the next fork, go north for an item bag and a chest that has a Nectar in it. Backtrack to the previous fork and go south for two item bags. Now go back to the very first fork and go north this time. After the scene, you'll retreat back to down. Talk to Kuu to finish the quest up. Let's go back to that hidden path to finish up looting the place. Go back to the area you were at before leaving automatically and go north for two item bags. At the fork, head up and jump up on the ledges. Open the chest at the top for a Black Hat. Go back down to the fork and go west this time and then north until you reach another fork. Go west for two chests containing a Hear Jar and a Black Belt. Go back to the fork and go east this time. Follow the path and pick up the item bag along the way. Once you reach a fork, make your way south and then go east for two item bags. Go back to the previous fork and go south and follow the path until you find another fork. Go west for a chest that has a Puppy Paw Bonbon in it. Go back to the previous screen and to the first fork on that screen and go north and follow the path. Pick up the time fragment you run across and jump across the ledges here and go east for an item bag. Continue going east for an item bag and then go south at the fork and then turn and go east. Follow the path and open the chest you come across for an 8 Directional Spring and two item bags. Now go west and continue going west past the fork for a chest that has a Caduceus in it. Backtrack to the fork and go south and east for two chests that has a Divine Shield and Tasteless Fruit in it. That's it for now. Go back to town and make your way to the guild to accept some more quests. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Let's do the "Rain Rain Come Again" quest first. You need to find 5x Boots to bring to Manna. You can get boots by fishing in the fishing spots in the Alterworld's you've been to. Boots are quite common, so you should be able to get five in no time. Once you get 5, go visit Manna at the grocery store and the quest will be completed. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Let's do the "Furry Magician" quest this time. Your goal here is to kill a Kobold Magician. Not a Kobold Mage, but a Kobold Magician. Go to the Posporia Battlegrounds and make your way to the Watch Tower where you fought the Puni Mama. You'll notice it because it's a huge red blob. It's not a tough fight. After it's defeated, go talk with Phenyl and the quest will be completed. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Let's do the "Ghost Research" quest now. Go visit Winna at the Library. Now enter Grimoire and make your way to the Library. Along the way, a couple of scenes will occur. After you regain control, make your way back to the Library and talk with Winna to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ For this next quest, "Echoes of the Castle", you better prepare yourself first. Equipping the Heal Ankh on Iris will be a good start, and make a few Heal Jars too while you're at it. Once you're ready, go visit Phenyl and then make your way to Grimoire Castle. Go to the second floor and head for the Altar. If you can't find it, bring up your map and scroll to the second floor and go to where the ! is. Once you arrive there, a nasty surprise is in store for you. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- The Elder --------- The first part of this fight isn't too difficult. Her attacks do around 20 damage or so, but you'll want to keep yourself healed up. Use Elemental Conversion with Iris and Pyre Bunker with Edge to get your Burst Meter up. After you take her down, the battle really begins. The second part of this fight is the harder part because her attacks can damage both Iris and Edge and she has a nasty attack that can damage both Edge and Iris for around 40 damage, so you may need to take a break while fighting to use Heal with Iris or use Heal Jars to get back to full health. Start off with Edge using Windmill to get a couple of time cards up to get additional damage in. After that, you should use Pyre Bunker with Edge and Elemental Conversion with Iris to get your Burst Meter up. Once it's full, start using your strongest skills (usually the 1 hit ones) on the Elder to really drop its health down. Re-use Windmill once the time cards are used up to keep adding the damage on and remember to take breaks to heal if needed. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- After the fight, watch the scene and you'll obtain your first Mana, Plua. Go back to town and a scene will occur, as well as a Tutorial about changing your Blades style. Think of it as changing your class. Plua's class is a Ninja type class, hence Kunai. If you change Edge to this, his attack power and defense will drop, but his speed will nearly double, if not triple itself. It's up to you if you want to switch Blades. After you're done here, go visit Phenyl to complete the quest. -------------- Go back into the guild and pick up some more quests. -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Let's do the "Sorrow, oh Lake Fish" quest. You need to catch 5x Lake Fish and bring them to Funan. You can catch these at the fishing spot at the Valtessa Forest. Once you get 5, go find Funan at the western bridge leading to the Valtessa Forest and talk with him to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Let's do "Find me Cat Food!" since this one is an easy fetch quest as well. Go find Papal at the fountain area. Head to the Tavern and a scene will play as you try to get there. After it, if you don't have a Tiger Blowfish, you can go fish for one at the Posporia Battlegrounds. Once you get it, go back to Papal and talk with her to complete the quest. Your rank should've gone up by now. -------------- A mission will start now, meaning your other quests are on hold for the moment. After the scene with Hagel, go to the Tavern for another scene. Now go find Funan and a few more scenes will play out. Head for Posporia. ====================== Posporia Battlegrounds ====================== Open up your map and look for the ! symbol on it. Make your way there. Once you get there, watch the scene. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Yula and Nell ------------- This fight is a bit hard at first only because of Yula. Because of this, you should focus all of your attacks on Yula. Nell is able to do at the most 20ish damage, whereas Yula can hit both Iris and Edge for nearly 40. Start off the battle with Edge using Windmill to get a couple of timed cards up to help add up the damage. Then use Pyre Bunker with him and Elemental Conversion to get your Burst Meter up. Yula has the ability to inflict status effects on you. This is a two turn attack, so you have time to heal up if someone is low on health. Once your Burst Meter is full, start using your 1 hit skills. By the end of the Burst Mode, Yula should have very little health left. Finish her off. Once Yula goes down, Nell is a cakewalk and shouldn't take too much effort to bring her down. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- After the scenes, talk to the two nearby Fairies. Warp back to town. ============== Zey Meruze ============== Now watch the following scenes. O-----------O | Chapter 3 | O-----------O (CH3) ============== Zey Meruze ============== After the scenes, Nell will join your party here, making your party full. Now let's do some more quests. -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the one titled "For You". Simply make a Kunai and go bring it to Pukko to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Let's do the "Puni Brothers!" quest now. Make your way to Valtessa forest and open up your map to see where the fishing spot is. Go to it and you'll find the Puni Brothers there. Fight them and go report to Phenyl to complete the quest. -------------- Get some more quests from the bulletin board. -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Something Furry" quest first. You need to find 5x Tufts and bring them to Hagel over in the weapon shop. If you somehow don't have 5 Tufts, you can get them from Kobolds. Once you give him the Tufts, that's the end of that quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Let's do "Life's Friend" now. Gather up 10x Nectars and bring them over to Eva at the Tavern. Once you do so, that's the end of that quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ "Pranks Prohibited" will be our next quest. You have to kill any 6 Kobold Mages at Posporia. They can be in any random encounter, so make sure to fight every enemy you see until you gather 6 of them. Once you do so, talk with Phenyl to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Let's do "Monster Puppeteer" now. Go talk with Anna, and then go into the Posporia Alterworld. Open up your map and make your way to the ! that flashes. Along the way, a scene will occur and you'll get into a small fight. After the fight, open your map and go to the next ! on it and talk with everyone in that area. Now go back to where the first ! was and you'll get into another fight. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Ice Sprite ---------- Don't bother taking out the ice shards that are behind her since she'll just heal them for a decent amount, so focus all your man power on the Ice Sprite. You can already tell she's weak to fire, so if Edge isn't using Plua's Blade, have him rip her apart with Pyre Bunker to quickly boost the Burst Gauge up. Iris should either use Elemental Conversion, or if she has a fire type weapon on, she can use normal attacks and use heal whenever needed. Depending on Nell's Blade Level, you should stick to either Quick Panther or Break Slash. Break Slash is a great choice if you have it since it knocks the targetted enemy back and hits for 5 times, which helps gets the Burst Meter up. The Ice Sprite herself doesn't attack, but instead lets the ice shards do the attacking for her whereas the Ice Sprite will use a healing time attack whenever her turn comes around. The ice shards do at most 20ish damage, and it takes two turns for them to actually attack, so focus all your man power on the Ice Sprite. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- After the fight, Nymph will join your party, which also unlocks another Blade for Nell, which is a healing type Blade. Watch the scenes and then go back to Zey Meruze and talk with Anna to complete the quest. -------------- For this next quest, we'll be exploring a new area, the Dakascus Valley. If you don't have access to it yet, do a few more quests. Once you do have access to it, let's do the "Greentail Bandits" quest. Head to where Valtessa is and go past the warp leading to it and you'll find another warp at the end of the path leading to Dakascus. =============== Dakascus Valley =============== Enter the valley once you gain control. Go east to find two chests containing Melty Spring Waters. Continue along the path, grabbing the item bags along the way. Continue going east on the next screen and pick up the item bag. Once you reach the next screen, continue on until you reach a fork. Go south to reach another fork. Go west this time and follow the path for an item bag and a chest containing a Thunder Stone. Go back to the fork and go east this time to reach yet another fork. Take the southeast path and follow it to find an item bag and another chest containing a Melty Spring Water. Continue along the main path and collect the item bag along the way until you reach another fork. Go north for an item bag. Continue to the east an dfollow the path until you find another fork. Take the southeast path and continue going east until you find a chest containing a Gurgu's Cane. Grab the item bag as well and continue following the path for two more item bags and then enter the next area. Go east and follow the path and continue east to find a chest that has an Armed Gear in it. Continue along to find an item bag and a chest containing a Needle Candy. This is a weapon for Edge if you're using his Plua's Blade (which you should be if you already mastered his default Blade). Grab the next item bag and go back three screens now. Once you reach the fork, go north for another fork and go east and snag the red crystal here. Go back to the fork and go north this time. Continue to the north to find a chest that has a recipe for a Hat in it. Grab the item bag as well and go east and you'll spot a huge, red blob. This is the fight that's needed for the "Greentail Bandits" quest, so fight them. Don't report it to Phenyl just yet. There's a bit more to explore here. Now open your map and go to the area that has the planting and fishing abilities on it. Go north andf ollow the path here and go northeast at the fork. Grab the two item bags in this area and open the two chests for 610 Cole and a Concentrated Honey. You can talk with Penn here to do some shopping if you want. Afterwards, go back. Go west to reach the next area and then go north to reach the four way split again. Go east this time. Open the two chests in this area for a Lightning Rod and a Holy Clothing. There's a shop here as well with some recipes for sale. Grab the item bag and then warp back to town. ============== Zey Meruze ============== Go visit Phenyl and report the quest in to complete it. Now go get some more quests off the bulletin board. -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the one titled "Jumbo Steak" first. Simply make 4 Steaks and then bring them over to Eva to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Mercenary Fight" quest now. Your job here is to kill 6 Puni Riders. Go to the Posporia area. There's some new areas to explore here. The Puni Riders are the purple blobs, so make sure to fight them when you come across them. Go to the four way split and go east. Continue east and go north at the fork and follow the path to reach the next screen. Keep going to find a chest that has a Nectar in it and grab the item bag as well. Continue along in this area for another item bag. On the next screen, go north to find two item bags. Climb the ladder here and open the two chests for a Black Liquid and a Mysterious Card. Go back down the ladder and take the east path this time. Grab the two item bags and continue east for a chest that has a Steak in it. Why someone would put a Steak in a chest, I don't know. Now take the ladder down and go through the door here. Go east for an item bag and continue east past the fork for another item bag and a chest containing a Bear Pelt. Go back to the fork and go west this time for two more chests containing some Goat Milk and a Monster Cookie. Go back to the fork once more and take the north route. At the next fork, go east for an item bag. Go back to the fork and go north this time and then turn east for another fork. Continue to the east and go down the stairs here for a chest that has a Concentrated Honey in it. Go back up the stairs and go north to reach another fork. Go east for a Misty Curtain, then go back and go west this time for an item bag. Go back to the fork and go back to the west and then north at the fork. Jump across the platforms here for a couple of item bags. Once you get the last one, drop down and go a bit west to find a chest containing an Arabesque Stole. Go back south to the previous screen and go all the way to the east. Go south and continue going south past the fork to reach another fork. Go east at this one and then north for yet another fork. Go nort for a chest that has a Bear Pelt in it and go back to the fork and go east. Continue east and go north at the fork and follow the path for two item bags. Go south, ignoring the door for now and open the chest you come across for a Black Hat. Follow the path as it bends west and then south for two chests containing Goat Milks. Go back to the door now. Go through it and go east for two item bags and then north for a chest that has a Kuma Outfit in it. Go back and go west through the small house again. Now take the east exit in this area to reach the next screen. Follow the path for two item bags and go east at the fork when you come across it. Open the chest for a Sweaty Fruit and go south. Open the chest here for a Black Liquid. Warp back to town and talk with Phenyl to complete this quest assuming you already killed at least 6 Puni Riders. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Let's do the quest titled "Unseen Weep" now. Go visit Anna and then go to Valtessa. Explore the Forest Depths section (the section that Kuu pointed out to you) until you reach it. After the scene, a fight occurs. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Magus ----- This fight is a pain mainly because Magus has the ability to poison you and curse you, so if you have Nell with her Nymph Blade, then using Sanctuary will be a huge factor in this fight. If you're using Edge's Default Blade, use Windmill to get some time cards up and then start using Pyre Bunker to get your Burst Gauge up. Iris should either be using Elemental Conversion or using the Nymph summon to damage her. Once your Burst Gauge is up, either use Pyre Bunker with Edge or if he's using Plua's Blade, use Blink Attack. Nell should keep using Sanctuary and heal when needed (assuming she has a healing accessory on) and Iris should be summoning, using heal, or using Elemental Conversion to get the Burst Gauge up. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- After the fight, you'll obtain Jiptus, and also Edge's second Blade. Now go back to Anna and the quest will be completed. -------------- Get some more quests from the bulletin board now. -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the quest titled "Let's Talk". Find 1 Chatter Flower and then go and bring it to Manna at the Grocery Store and the quest will be completed. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Let's do the quest titled "A Simple Quest" now. Simply find a Fungushroom (you should have at least one by now) and go to the Tavern and give it to the person named Earl. After the small scene, the quest is completed. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Time for the "Lizard Musketeers". Go to Dakascus and look around for a giant red blob (you shouldn't have to look too far in). Fight it and defeat the three enemies. Report back to Phenyl to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "The Reason For War" quest now. Go talk with Anna and make your way to Posporia. Go to the Kuma side of the battlefield and open up your map. Go to where the ! is and talk to the Kuna General. Now go to the cannon and you'll be on the Fairies side now. Go talk with the Fairy General. Go back to town and report to Anna to complete the quest. -------------- Get some more quests off the bulletin board. -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the one titled "First Feelings". Go visit Winna at the Library. After the scene, go back to your workshop and make a Healing Necklace. You can make one for yourself if you want to replace the Healing Ankh if you're using it. After making one, go back to Winna to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the one titled "A Fishy Gift". Go visit Kuu at the fountain area and he'll want you to get a Bonita. Go to Dakascus to fish one up and then give it to him to complete the quest. -------------- Your rank should've increased by now. If it hasn't do a few more quests. After your rank has raised, it's time for the next mission. After the scene, go to the Grocery Store and talk with Manna. After the next scene, go visit Ella at the Book Store. =============== Dakascus Valley =============== Now make your way to Dakascus and open up your map and go to where the ! is. Talk with the Chief and open your map again. Go to where the next ! is. Once you reach it, watch the scene and a fight will occur. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Stone Emperor ------------- To start this fight off, have Iris use the Summon command and have her summon Jiptus to lower the Stone Emperor's attack and magic. This will help in the long run. Have Edge use Windmill and then Pyre Bunker if he's in his default Blade forum whereas after casting Jiptus, Iris should be summoning Nymph as the Stone Emperor is weak to ice/water attacks. Nell, depending on her Blade, should be healing or using skills such as Armor Piercing and then Break Slash or using Heal. The Stone Emperor has a lot of nasty attacks, and if you used Jiptus to start the battle off, his attacks should barely reach the 40 mark. Once Jiptus's effects wear off, re-summon her. Once your Burst Gauge is full, have Iris spam Nymph, Edge use Windmill to get some time cards up and then use Pyre Bunker, Blink Attack, or Illusion Edge, depending on your Blade and Nell should use Ein Zecksclaw while in Burst Mode if she's on her default Blade. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- After the fight, you'll automatically be brought back to the Chief and return to town. ============== Zey Meruze ============== Go visit Manna and watch the scene, and the mission will be completed. O-----------O | Chapter 4 | O-----------O (CH4) ============== Zey Meruze ============== After the scenes, let's do some more quests. -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the quest titled "Beautiful Queen". Go to Posporia and look for the Harpy to defeat. Becareful when you fight it, as it has a good amount of Speed. After slaying it, go visit Phenyl to claim your prize. -------------- Get some more quests off the Bulletin Board. -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Unsatisfied Humans" quest first. Go talk with Cerber. After doing so, go talk with Ella, Yach, and Manna. Go back to Cerber and talk with him to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Let's do "Cleaning the Castle" now. Go talk with Anna and then proceed to the Library and enter Grimoire Castle. Go visit Pamela and talk with her. Now go into all the rooms around the Library and cut the spider webs down. You'll find a Castle Key in one of them. Now go talk with Pamela after chopping all of the Spider Webs down to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ While you're in the Grimoire Castle, let's do the "Dark Wing Collection" quest now. You need to defeat 7 Shadow Girls. You can find them starting on the second floor. Once you defeat all 7, don't report back to Phenyl just yet. Let's use that Castle Key to explore further first. Go to the first floor and go the room on the far east portion of the map. After the scene, the previously locked door will now be open. Enter it. Follow the path until you reach a split and go south to reach the next screen. Go west to find an item bag and then a bit south to find a chest that has a Black Liquid in it. Go back to the previous screen and make your way back to the fork and go north this time. Pick up the item bag and continue going north until you reach a fork. Go east through the door. Go a bit more to the east in the next room to find 8 Item Bags and a chest containing a Brilliant Stone. Backtrack to the fork and continue going north. At the next fork, go east again through the door and keep going east to find an item bag and a chest containing a Pendelook. Go back to the previous screen and go up the nearby ladder. Ignore the door and follow the path until you reach a fishing spot. You can get Joker Fish here, and I'd suggest getting a few as you'll need them pretty soon. Continue along the path and open the two chests for a recipe for a Gong and 880 Cole. Grab the item bag as you keep going to the next screen. Go east and open the chest for a Le Merou Cog and then go south at the fork and then turn and go east to find two chests containing Posporia Cottons. Go through the door to find a shop. Shop around if you want. Exit and go back to the fork and go north for another fork. Head east first for an item bag and then go back to the fork and go north for another item bag. Warp back to town. Report the slaying of the 7 Shadow Girls to Phenyl to complete this quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Helping Make Dinner" quest. Go to your workshop and choose to make a steak. Substitute the first ingredient with a fish and then make the recipe and a Broiled Fish will be the outcome. Get two of them and go visit Manna. Give them to her to complete this quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Flaming Joker Fish" quest now. Simply go find Funan on the west bridge and give him 2x Joker Fish to complete the quest. -------------- Go back to the guild to get some more quests. -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ To complete the "Strange Kettle" quest, go back Grimoire Castle and head for the underground area and kill 8 Kettle Spirits. Any 8 will do. Once you finish them off, go talk with Phenyl to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the quest titled "Disorderly Time". Go talk with Anna, and now go enter the new Alterworld, Ishtar. If you can't find it, go a bit west from the guild and jump across the boats and rock and enter the house. ================= Gardens of Ishtar ================= Enter the Gardens. Follow the path west for two item bags and take the teleporter once you come across it. Head south a bit and drop down to the bottom. Grab the item bag and continue along. At the fork, go west for an item bag and take the next teleporter. Continue down the path for another item bag and at the next fork, go north for a chest containing a Thorn Gauntlet. Go a bit east for an item bag and then backtrack to the fork. Go south this time and follow the path until you reach the next screen. Follow the path west and then south as it bends. Open the chest for a Heal Jar and examine the pillar with a jewel on it. Go west some more to reach the next screen. Proceed north for an item bag and then continue to the west until you reach a fork. Go west at the fork. Continue west for another item bag and then follow the path as it bends south and west. Keep going west and then turn and go north for a chest that has a Black Liquid in it, as well as an item bag. Go back down the steps and journey off to the west and then south for an item bag. On the next screen, keep going south for an item bag and at the fork, continue going south and then east for a chest that has a Rainbow Feather in it. Go back to the vines you passed along the way and climb down and examine the pillar here. Now make your way all the way back to the teleporter of this area to warp back up. Go back east a bit and at the fork, go east and take the teleporter. Grab the item bag and if you talk to the most left NPC on the lower level, you can shop around for a few items. Climb the vines and head a bit north for an item bag. Go back a bit and then jump across the platforms to reach the chest on the other end for a Cursed Doll. Drop down and go east now into the house. Open the chest here for some Devil's Panties and exit. Go south across the bridge this time. Continue south for an item bag, and then go south a bit more for another item bag. Follow the path as it bends east for a chest that has a Pendelook in it. Go to the west a bit and then south for another item bag. On the next screen, drop down for a chest that as a Pendelook. Drop down again for an item bag. Drop down once more and go south at the fork for a chest containing a Bangle. Go back to the fork and go east this time for an item bag and follow the path to reach the next screen. Continue going south for an item bag and then go west to reach a fork. Go east at the fork for an item bag, and then keep going east a bit for two more item bags and a chest containing a Witch's Staff. Go back to the fork and go west this time to reach the next area. Follow the path to reach another fork. Go north for two item bags and then go back and go south this time. Continue east to find a chest containing a Balmung. Continue along for another item bag. Now go back to the previous screen and go to where the fork is and go south and west. Take the next teleporter you come across. Open the chest for a Nectar and head a bit more east for a scene and then a fight. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Musica and Cancion ------------------ These guys will give you trouble no matter which Blades you're using. They love to use status effects against you, mainly Silence and Sleep, and one of them is resistant to physical attacks whereas one is resistant to magic attacks. Have Edge focus on the one that's resistant to magic attacks to build your burst gauge up. Iris and Nell, depending on her Blade, should be using Cure Jars to rid of the silence and sleep status effects as those will come back to bite you in the ass if they linger around too long. Once your burst gauge is full, use your best skills to deal a lot of damage. Once one of them falls, the other should fall easily. There's no much strategy here. The only thing you need to do is keep yourself ailment free. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- After the fight, you'll obtain Siren, which is also Nell's second Blade. Now make your way back to the Woofer Village. Climb the vines and go north and go north a bit more for a chest that has a Black Liquid in it. Folow the path as it bends west and then south for an item bag. Now warp back to town. ============== Zey Meruze ============== Go report the quest to Anna to complete it. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Let's complete the "Beautiful Roses" quest now. You need to make 1x Rose Thorn. In order to make one, go to your workshop and select the Kunai. Replace the first ingredient with a Rose to make a Rose Thorn. Go to Eva now to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the quest titled "Subcontract Work" now. Go visit Earl and he'll want you to bring him an Althena Soul. You should've gotten one during your visit in the Gardens of Ishtar. Give him one to complete the quest. -------------- Go get some more quests from the Guild now. -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Lying Grandpa" one. Simply get 10x Beast Fangs (you should have more than enough) and go visit Gramps at the fountain area. Give him the Beast Fangs to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Let's do the "The Age Of...!" quest. You'll need 5x Monster Bones. Once you get them, go visit Yach to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Let's complete the "Kuma Infiltration" quest now. You'll need to go to Posporia to kill 5 Owl Bears. Once you do so, go visit Phenyl to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Lost Kuu" quest now. Go talk with Anna and then go to the Fountain Area and talk with Papal. After doing so, make your way to Valtessa and explore around until you find Kuu's backpack. Go into the Forest Depths and go into the most eastern area (open up your map) of the map to find Kuu. Go report it back to Anna to complete the quest. -------------- Your rank should've gone up by now. If it hasn't, do more quests. Once your rank goes up, the next mission will start. After the scene, make sure to equip an accessory with the Heal ability on Nell and Iris. Also, if you want, switch Nell to her Nymph Blade if she isn't already in it and make some X-Jars. Once you're ready, make your way to Posporia. ====================== Posporia Battlegrounds ====================== Head along the path until a scene occurs. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Alvero ------ This is the second round against Alvero, and just like the first fight, it's still a pretty simple, straightforward fight. Alvero still has the same attacks as last time, and they'll do around 30-40 damage, so having Nell or Iris use heal, assuming they have a healing accessory on, will pretty much give you a guaranteed win as long as you use it when someone gets low on health. There's really not much strategy here. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- After the fight, go to the far east part of the Kuma territory and go east and through the door. Go through the house and continue going east once you exit the house. After the scene, follow the path and pick up the item bag and head for the next screen. Continue along until a scene triggers. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Alkane ------ This fight is harder than the Alvero fight because Alkane has a dangerous attack that will just eat your HP alive. Depending on your Blades, have Edge either attack or use Pyre Bunker. Iris should attack, summon, or use Elemental Conversion to build the Burst Gauge up. Depending on Nell's Blade, she'll either be your healer for this fight, or she'll help Edge build up the Burst Gauge. The one attack you'll want to watch out for is Primal Ray. This is a two turn attack, and once this attack is unleashed, it'll do roughly around 140 damage to every character. If Nell is in her Nymph Blade, have her use Healing Echo with an X-Jar to restore your HP. If that isn't enough, use the heal spell if you have it equipped. Iris should summon Jiptus to lower Alkane's attack. After doing that, his other attacks shouldn't crack more than 30 damage. Once the burst gauge is full, depending on your Blades, unleash your strongest skills to wipe its HP fast. This is mostly an endurance fight. Remember to take breaks to heal your characters if needed and get as much damage as you can before the second Primal Ray is shot. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- After the fight, head back to town. ============== Zey Meruze ============== After the scene, you'll start the next chapter. O-----------O | Chapter 5 | O-----------O (CH5) After the scene, make your way to the guild to get some more quests. -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the quest titled "Demon Squid Backlash". Get 3x Demon Squids and bring them to Funan to complete this quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Let's do the quest titled "Lying Grandpa, Again" quest. Find 1x Dragon Bone and go bring it to Gramps at the Fountain Area. The quest will be completed after you do so. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Fallen Angels" quest now. Go to the 2nd Level Terrace in Ishtar and kill 8 Fallen Angels. These are event ones, so they'll be the purple blobs. After you slay them, go visit Phenyl to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Unsatisfied Beastmen" quest now. Go visit Cerber and go to Posporia. Go talk with the Kuma General, Fairy General, and Bow Won. You can find them by going to the three !'s marked on the map. After talking with them, go talk with Cerber once more to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Experiment and Rescue" quest. Go talk with Anna and you'll get a new tool to use that shoots fireballs. Go to Grimoire Castle and scroll to the second floor to where the ! is. When you get there, a scene will occur. Melt the ice blocks and enter the door. After the scene, get the item bag and exit. Go west and enter the next door for three item bags and a chest containing a Bonita. Go back and head north a bit for two item bags. Now go back to town and report the result to Anna to complete the quest. -------------- While you're in the Guild, get some more quests. -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "New Type Sweets" quest. Go to Valtessa and try to find some Punis to fight. Make sure Nell is in her Siren Blade. Once you find some, cast Trick or Treat on them to turn them into Puni Gummies. Get 5 of these and bring them to Ella to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Nearing Darkness" quest now. Go to Ishtar and head for the second level terrace. Kill 7 Darknesses and report back to Phenyl to complete the quest. -------------- Before doing the next quest, let's explore a bit more of Ishtar. ================= Gardens of Ishtar ================= Head to where Woofer Village is and climb the first set of vines and follow the pipe as it goes north. Follow the path here and take the portal when you come across it. Melt the ice blocks here and go north to reach a four way split. Take the south path for an item bag and go to the next screen. Get the two item bags here and then open the chest for a Dragon Bone. Go back to the fork and take the north path this time and get the item bag. Go to the next screen and open the chest for an X Heal. Go back to the fork and go east for an item bag and then on the next screen, open the chest for some Winged Boots. Go back to the fork once more and proceed north and take the portal. Follow the path south and open the chest for a Worn Weapon. Continue to the west for a chest that has a recipe for Hades Axe in it. Grab the item bag and go east for another item bag. Now go east and take the portal, then go north once more for another portal. Follow the path for another portal. Once you take that, warp back to town. ============== Zey Meruze ============== Time to do some more quests. -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the quest titled "Soldiers Never Die". Go talk with Anna and then go back to Ishtar. Go to where the Woofer Village is and climb the first set of vines and go north along the metal pipe. Once you reach that four way split, take the west path. Now go back to town and talk with Anna to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the quest titled "Three Tasks". Go visit Anna and watch the scene. Your first task is to make a Brilliant Stone and give it to Noella. Your second task is to go to Woofer Village and talk with the Woofer Chief. Finally, your third task is to go to Posporia to kill a Kobold. Open your map and go to where the ! is. Fight the Kobolds. After the fight, something else appears. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Rockwell -------- This fight isn't all that hard if you remember to summon Jiptus with Iris. Once you do so, Rockwell's attacks are so weak that you should be able to take care of him real easily. Work up your burst gauge by using multi hit skills such as Elemental Conversion. Once you get into burst mode, use your strongest skills and it should fall in a matter of seconds. Not much strategy here. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- After the fight, you'll obtain Diemia and Nell will gain Diemia's Blade. After the scene, the quest will be completed. -------------- Get some more quests from the guild. -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Jumbo Steak" quest. Go make 4x Steak and give them to Eva to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "A Flower For You" quest now. Make 1x Bouquet and go to the Memorial in town. If you can't find it, open up your map. Talk with Meyna to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Puni Brothers 2!" quest. Go to Valtessa and go to where the fishing spot is. Fight the giant red blob here and defeat the Puni Brothers. Go back to Phenyl and report it to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Broken Crystal" quest now. Go visit Anna, and then go to Dakascus and go to the Pengie Village to talk with the Chief. Go back to your workshop to make some Breath of Earths. Go back to Dakascus and go to the Chief. Give one to him to complete the quest. -------------- Your rank should've gone up by now. If it hasn't, do more quests. Once your rank goes up, it's time for the next mission. After the scene, you may want to change your Blades so that you can use some powerful skills to either build up the burst gauge or to get high damage fast. Whenever you're ready, make your way to Valtessa. ========================== Ancient Forest of Valtessa ========================== Head to the far east panel on the map. Use the healing pillar to restore your HP and cross the bridge for a fight. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Stone Emperor ------------- He's back and tougher this time around. Your first priority should be using Jiptus on him to lower his attack. He has the ability to heal for around 500 to 600 per round, so make sure you can do that much to keep up with him. For a huge stone golem, he's awfully fast, so you'll want someone ready to use healing items if needed. The one attack you'll want to watch out for is Judgment as it hits the entire party and lowers your magic. Counter this with healing echo if you're using Nell's Nymph Blade. You'll want to build up your burst gauge as fast as you can, but since the Stone Emperor is resistant against magic attacks, Iris won't help build it up that fast. Pyre Bunker will help this cause if you're using Edge's default Blade. After you get into burst mode, use your strongest skills to deplete as much HP as you can before Burst mode runs out. Once it runs out, start filling it back up and remember to keep using Jiptus if the Attack/Magic down stats wear off. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- After the fight, watch the scene. You can't win the following fight, so don't waste any items. After you lose, watch the scene that ends the Chapter. O-----------O | Chapter 6 | O-----------O (CH6) After the scenes, make your way to the guild to get some more quests. -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Balance of Nature" quest. Go to the first level Terrace in Ishtar and kill 8 Panthers. These are event ones, so make sure to kill the purple blobs. Once you kill 8, go report it to Phenyl. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Follow my Cat!" quest. Go talk with Papal and start making your way to the Library in town. Along the way, a scene will trigger. After the scene, continue to the library for another scene. Go talk with Papal for one last scene. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "They Only Walk Away" quest. Go talk with Phenyl and head for Grimoire Castle and go to the Squawk Village. Once you arrive, follow the path and once you reach a fork, go north for another fork. Go east a bit for an item and then go back and go north for another item bag. At the next fork, go east and watch the scene. Now go back to town and go to the fountain area and talk with Gramps. When you're ready, tell him that you're ready and you'll be warped straight to the monster. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Fatebringer ----------- This fight, while not as tough as the previous fight against the Stone Emperor, is still tough mainly because of the swords that aid him. Fatebringer will hardly attack you himself and when he does, he uses an attack that sucks your HP and heals him. The swords that accompany him will either attack you, or use a suicidal type of move that rips through your HP and damages them in the process. Needless to say, these swords pose as a problem, but if you get rid of one, Fatebringer just uses Gate to bring another one into the fight, so focus all your power on the Fatebringer. Using Multihit skills such as Pyre Bunker to get your Burst Gauge up is what you'll want to do in this fight. Iris should be using Elemental Conversion or using Heal or healing items if those swords become too much of a problem. Nell, depending on her Blade, should use attacks such as Break Slash. Once Burst Mode is activated, skills like Ein Zecksclaw, Buster Drive, or Illusion Edge will effectively damage him. Iris should use her summons in Burst Mode, mainly Diemia if there's a line of enemies that Diemia can run over. Just make sure to keep healing constantly to avoid being knocked out by those swords. If someone gets knocked out, use a Nectar. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- After the fight, you'll obtain Fanatos. You'll obtain a new Blade for Edge as well. Before leaving the castle, let's do a bit of exploring first. Head west and follow the path for an item bag. Enter the door once you come across it. Open the treasure chest in here for a Le Merou Cog and go back and follow the path again for two more item bags and then go through the next door. Open the chest here for a Grand Viper. Now go back to town and talk with Phenyl to complete this quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Let's do the quest "Invisible Devils" now. Your goal here is to kill a Petit Kobold, but the catch here is that it's supposedly "invisible". There's also a little trick that's needed to be able to actually fight the thing. You need at least 3 hourglasses of time left before the Fairy moves from its treasury so that you can enter it. Once you enter Posporia, don't go straight to the Fairy side of the area just yet. To kill some time, we're going to do some barrel exploding. In the Kuma area, there's a small cave that has some TNT barrels in it. Once you find that room, shoot a fireball on one. Now go to where the Kuma was guarding the treasury and enter it. Grab the chests in here for a Bomb Bomb Ice, Tera Flame, Thunder Rod, and 2x X Heals. Now once there are only 3 hourglasses left, go to where the Fairy treasury is and enter the cave where the Fairy was guarding. You'll see a red little blob here. Strike it to engage in a fight against the Petit Kobold. This little guy is super fast. His damage may seem weak at first, but because of his insane speed, the damage will rack up fast, so always have Iris or someone else on healing duty. Once you defeat the Petit Kobold, go report to Phenyl. -------------- Before getting some more quests, let's go back to Dakascus Valley first. =============== Dakascus Valley =============== Do you remember where the Pengie Village is? Make your way there and stop once you reach the four way split. Take the north path and follow it until you find a broken crystal. Use a Breath of Earth on it and cross over. Continue north and at the fork, go west for two item bags and a Tera Flame. Go back to the fork and go north until you reach another fork. Go east and use a Breath of Earth on the crystal and cross over it to reach the next screen. Continue to the east for an item bag and two chests containing an Estevanguard and a Star Prism. Make your way back to the four way split leading to the Pengie Village and take the south route this time. Follow the path until you reach a fork. Take the southeast path and continue along until you reach another fork. Take the southeast path and cross the crystal that was fixed by the Pengie Chief. Grab the item bag here and continue to the south and then east for an item bag and a chest that has a Bitter Fruit and follow the path to reach the next screen. Go west for three chests. Two of them contain Le Merou Cogs and the other one contains a Shield of Gargol. Now open your map and go to the area where the far left arrow is. Go to it and go to the next area of the map. Continue borth for an item bag and go west at the fork. Open the chest for a Star Prism and continue west to the next screen. Keep going west for an item bag and then go north for two more item bags. Go west to the next screen. Follow the path until you reach a fork. Go north for a Time Fragment. Go back to the fork and go west this time and continue following the path until you find a chest that has some Goat Cheese in it and then another chest with a Star Prism. Go north to the next screen and keep going north and then west for an item bag and then borth again as the path bends. Continue going north for two more item bags and at the fork, keep going north for a chest that has a recipe for a Magic Shield. Backtrack to the fork and go west this time. Now open your map and go to the very first part of this area that's near the arrow. Go north at the fork this time and follow the path. Continue going north until you reach another fork. Go east and continue east for some item bags and three chests that contain Glittering Threads. Backtrack to the fork and go north, west, and then north. Keep going north for an item bag and a chest that has a Heal All in it. Go west and then north and then west again at the fork. Follow the path north and then go west as it bends around for three more item bags. Continue to the north and then east. Continue east and turn and go south as the path bends for two chests containing a Black Bustier and some Goat Cheese. Go back to the previous screen and at the fork, go west this time. Continue west until you reach a fork. Go south and fix the crystal. Cross over for a Time Fragment and for a red and yellow bonus crystal. Go back to the fork and go west. Continue west for two more item bags. Now warp back to town. ============== Zey Meruze ============== Now go to the guild to get some more quests. -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Tailor Made" quest. Make 2x Black Fairy Clothes and then go find Gregor. You can find him by going to Ishtar and then going to Woofer village. Climb the vine and head north to the next area. Keep going until you can melt some ice blocks. Go past the four way split and you'll find Gregor at the end of the path. Give him the Black Fairy Clothes to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Problematic Gifts" now. Go to the Grimoire Library and pay Pamela a visit. Now go back town to return four gifts. Go to Ewan and Hagel first as they should be the closest two people. Now go to the fountain area, and then the area where the Tavern is. After the scene, the quest will be completed. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Strangle Kettle" quest now. Kill 7 Kettle Spirits in Grimoire. They should be spawns from the blue blobs on the first floor now. Once you kill 7, go visit Phenyl to get your reward. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "N33d t0 f1x c10ck" quest. Yes, that's the real name of the quest. Go talk with Anna. Now go to Ishtar. Do you remember where that huge clock is? Make your way to it and talk to the person outside of it. After the scene, give him a Strange Gearbox. Once the quest is completed, you'll obtain your third tool, the Hammer. -------------- Go back to the guild to get some more quests. Let's do some more exploring first though with our new hammer. Go back to Ishtar. ================= Gardens of Ishtar ================= Go to the Woofer Village and climb both sets of vines this time. Break the rocks with your hammer and take the portal. Go west for an item bag and at the fork, go south a bit for a chest that has a Star Prism in it. Go back to the fork and continue west and at the next fork, go south for an item bag and then go back to the fork and go north this time to reach the next screen. Continue north for an item bag and then turn and follow the path to the west for another item bag. Now go to the First Level Terrace and look for a Lithograph. Set it to Future and follow the main path for a couple of screens until you reach a fork. Go south and you'll be at a place where a huge rock used to be. It's gone now, so continue past where it was to reach the next screen. Go south for an item bag and then west for another item bag. Follow the path as it bends south and east for a chest that has a Maid Dress in it. Go a bit north for another item bag. Go back to town now. ============== Zey Meruze ============== -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Want Tasty Meat" quest now. Make 1x Steak and go to the Oasis in Dakascus. Go to the guy that's blocking the treasure chest [Reize] and give him the steak to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Yum Yum Candy" quest now. Get 4x Chaos Candies. If you need to know how to get them, you need to use Trick or Treat with Nell in her Siren Blade. Open up your Monster List (under the Reference section on your menu) and browse through the enemies to see which ones transform into Chaos Candies. Once you get 4, go visit Manna to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Bridgetop Duel" quest now. Go to Posporia and explore all around the Central area until you find a huge red blob. Kill the Jagged Bear and report back to Phenyl. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Let's finally do the "The Holy Knight" quest now. This one has probably been sitting in your log for awhile now. We can finally make one of these bad boys now, so let's get started. First, go to Posporia and go visit Bon Won and buy the Gauntlet recipe from him. Next, change the ingredients with the Alchemic Metal so that one of the ingredients include a Holy Emblem. Now make the item and then go to the Accessories section. Select the Thorn Gauntlet and choose a different first ingredient. Complete the recipe and you'll obtain a Gauntlet of Artorius instead of a Thorn Gauntlet. Go visit Gregor in Ishtar and give it to him to complete the quest. -------------- If you need some more quests, go to the Guild. -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Celestial Rookery" quest now. Go talk with Noella and make your way to Dakascus. Go talk with the Pengie Chief. Head a bit east and follow the path that was just guarded and enter the new area. Follow the path as it runs north and at the fork, go west and follow the path for two item bags. Fix the broken crystal that you come across and head for the next screen. Continue north for another item bag and then two chests containing a Holy Emblem and a Star Prism. Backtrack to the fork now and go east for a chest containing a Dragon Lance. Continue on to reach the next screen. Continue east for a chest that has an Astral Cane in it. Fix the crystal when you come across it to advance. On the next screen, follow the path east for an item bag. Keep going for another item bag and then two chests that has a Glittering Thread and a Horseman Outfit in it. Go back to the previous screen and at the fork, go west and then south to reach another fork. Go east this time and fix the crystal here. Continue east for another item bag and a chest that has a Spicy Fruit in it. Backtrack to the fork and go south this time. Continue south on the next screen and follow the path as it winds around until you reach another fork. Take the southeast path. Watch the scene. After it, it's time for a fight. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Mirage ------ This fight isn't really all that difficult. The only thing noteworthy about this fight is that Mirage has the ability to cast Seal on a character, and she pretty much sticks to using one attack, so as long as you can heal Seal when it matters, then Mirage shouldn't be all that difficult to tackle. Just use the same procedure of using multi hit skills to get the Burst Gauge up and then once it's full, use your strongest skills to eat away at her life. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- After the fight, you'll obtain Faustus as well as Nell's final Blade. Before going back to town, go back to the previous fork not too far back and go north for a couple of item bags. Now go back to town and talk with Noella to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the quest titled "Oblivion" now. Go talk with Meyna at the Memorial. Now go back to your workshop and make a Water of Lethe. Bring it back to Meyna to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the quest titled "Giant Exploration" now. Go talk with Anna and then make your way to Pospoira. Talk with Bon Won and you'll be launched to a new area in Posporia. Once you land, head south and pick up the item bag you come across. Follow the path as it bends east and then north for a chest that has a Fungo Charm in it. Continue east and climb the vine to reach the next area. Follow the path until you reach a fork. Go through the door first. Go west a bit for an item bag and a chest containing a Gauntlet of Artorius. Go back to the fork and go north and climb the vine. Follow the linear path here and climb the next vine. Open the chest up here for a Glittering Thread and then climb the next vine to reach the next screen. Climb the next vine and follow the path for a chest that has an Apple of Youth in it. Keep going for another item bag. On the next screen, go east and follow the path as it bends northward. Climb the vine and go east until you reach another vine. Grab the item bag here and climb the next vine. Follow the path for an item bag and at the fork, go east and climb the vine and head east a bit more for another item bag. Go directly north on the next screen. Now go back to the fork and go through the door this time. After the scene, go back to town and talk with Anna to complete the quest. -------------- Your rank should've gone up by now, which means it's time for a mission. Watch the scene. Afterwards, go to the guild for another scene. Go talk with Noella for yet another scene. Once you regain control, make your way to Ishtar and open up your map and scroll to the 3rd Level Terrace. ================= Gardens of Ishtar ================= Do you remember where that huge tree was blocking your path on the 3rd Level Terrace? Go to it. It's gone now, so follow the path until you reach a fork. Go south for another fork. Go south again at this one to reach the next screen. Follow the path and open the chest along the way for a Glowing Bracelet and at the next fork, go south yet again. Continue south once you come to a ledge, drop down and head a bit more south for an item bag. Now go north and climb the vine back to the top. Go south again and jump across the platforms. Once you reach the last one, head up and open the chest for a recipe for Diamond Dust. Go back to the fork and go east this time. Head east a bit and hit the sticks with a fireball. Wait for a minute or so and the ice block should disappear. Open the chest for a Heaven's Feel and then open the other chest for a Gravity Stone. Go east to the next screen. Watch the scene. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Alvero ------ Compared to that pain in the ass Stone Emperor in the last chapter, Alvero is pretty much a cupcake. He still uses the same attacks as before and they're still as weak as before. Start beating up on him. Once you knock off all of his health, a second fight with him will occur. Like with the previous fight, this one is also simple. He's a bit stronger this time around, so have Iris summon Jiptus to lower his attack for a few rounds while you pummel him with multi-hit skills to increase the Burst Gauge. One thing to note about Alvero this time though is that his time attack will stick around throughout the entire battle this time, but as long as you can keep up with healing (which you should be able to do since he rarely tops 40 damage with his attack down), then you'll breeze through this fight with no problems. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- After the scenes (Pity Alvero. Now.), Chapter 6 comes to a close. O-----------O | Chapter 7 | O-----------O (CH7) After the scenes, make your way to the guild to get some more quests. However, before doing these quests, let's do a bit more exploring with our shiny new hammer. Head for Grimoire Castle. =============== Grimoire Castle =============== Enter the castle and head north a bit. Break the two rocks and go up the stairs. Head east until you come to a three way split. Go north through the door first. Get the two item bags in here and open the chest for a Hyper Doll recipe. Go back to the three way split and take the south path this time. Get the item bag and open the chest for a Baba Yaga. Now go back and make your way to where the underground portion of Grimoire is. Once you're there, head west until you reach a fork. Go west at the fork to reach the next screen. Continue west and then turn and go north and break the rocks you come across. On the next screen, continue north for an item bag. Now go south and then west for another item bag. Follow the bath north now and take the stairs. Go east in this area for two chests. One has a Necromonicon in it and the other has a Gravity Stone in it. Continue east and flip the switch when you come across it. Now make your way back to the very first area of the underground portion of the castle. At the fork, go north and follow the path until you reach that ladder leading to the Squawk Village. Don't take it. Instead, go east and through the door. Continue east and then go down the set of stairs here. Go south and break the rocks here. Follow the path as it bends around and at the fork, go south and grab the chest at the end of this path for a Bomb Bomb Ice. Backtrack to the fork and go east and at the next fork, go east and follow the path. Go south here for an item bag and a chest containing a Strange Slab. Backtrack to the fork and go west through the door. Go north and then east and then on the next screen, keep going east for an item bag. Now make your way back to the entrance of Grimoire. Go back to that three way split from earlier and take the east path. Follow the path and grab the item bag along the way. At the next fork, go east and jump over the gears here for a chest that has a Graver Bell in it. Go back to the fork and go north for an item bag. Hit the switch and take the stairs. Go south and follow the path for another item bag. Once you reach the end of this area, ignore the switch and take the stairs. Follow the path and at the next fork, go north for three item bags. Go back to the previous switch and flip it this time. Go back to the fork in the next room and go south this time. You'll reach the top of the castle now. If your Alchemy level is high enough (around Level 6 I believe), then Iris will have an idea for Endless Bells. The idea is right up here. Before leaving, make your way back to the very first switch of this area and flip it. Go into the next room and go north this time. Open the chest at the end of the path for a Glittering Thread. Now warp back to town. ============== Zey Meruze ============== -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "New Menu Pudding!?" quest. Make 1x Unipuni Pudding and go bring it to Ella to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Love Letter" quest now. Go talk with Winna and he'll give you a letter to deliver to Pamela. Now go visit Pamela and after the scene, go back to Winna to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Puni Brothers 3!?" quest now. Head for Valtessa and go to the fishing spot to fight the Puni Brothers again. Take them down and go report to Phenyl. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Reckless Raiders" quest now. Go talk with Noella. Now you need to find three Raiders in three different Alterworlds. First, go to Ishtar and talk with the guard outside the house. Enter Ishtar and go to the ! on your map. After he's rescued, go to Valtessa and talk with the guard outside. Go to the ! on your map to find the second Raider. Now go to Dakascus and talk with the guard outside. Go to the ! on the map to find the third Raider. Go talk with Noella to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Courage, Once More" quest. Go talk with Earl. Now go to Valtessa and go to the ! located on your map. Once you find the Stone Ruins, watch the scene. Afterwards, the quest will be completed. -------------- Now go get some more quests from the guild. -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Wanting Attention" quest. Bring 4x Shift Eyes over to Yach to complete this quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Bandits Resurrected" quest. Defeat him and report back to Phenyl to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Amnesiac Angel" quest. Before heading to Valtessa, go back to your workshop and use a different first ingredient for a Wather of Lethe to get a Refrain Memory. Now go to Valtessa and go to Rufina (the ! on your map). Talk with her and give her the Refrain Memory to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Let's do the "The Squawk Chief" quest now. Go talk with Noella and then make your way to Grimoire. Go to the Squawk Village for a scene. Now open up your map and go to the ! on the map. If you can't remember how to get there, go to the entrance of Grimoire and break the rocks and take the stairs up. Go east at the threeway split and just head to the next screen. After the scene, go back to Noella to complete the quest. -------------- Get some more quests now, but let's do one last bit of exploring before going any further. Go to Grimoire. =============== Grimoire Castle =============== Go to the second floor (where all the clocks and gears are) and take the south route to reach the next screen. Follow the path to reach the next screen. Go east and at the fork, go south and then east and you'll find a safe. Use your hammer to break it and enter it. Open the four chests in this room for 1010 Cole, a Holy Emblem, a Tera Flame, and a Gleipnirs Chains. Now go back to town. ============== Zey Meruze ============== Let's do some more quests now. -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Jumbo Steak" quest. Make 3x Steak and bring them over to Eva at the Tavern to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Fallen Angels" quest. You need to kill 5x groups of different Fallen Angel enemies. You'll recognize them as they'll be the purple blobs. Go to Ishtar and head for the second level terrace and kill five groups. Go talk with Phenyl to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Subcontract, Again" quest. Go talk with Earl. Now head to Posporia and go to where Bon Won is. Talk to the Woofer near the cannon to be fired towards the Giant Tree. Open up your map and head for the !. Once you get there, strike the giant red blob to fight a Fallen Lord. Once it's gone, watch the scene and go back to town. Talk with Earl to complete the quest. -------------- Your rank should've gone up by now, which means it's time for the next mission. ============== Zey Meruze ============== After thes cene, go talk with Noella for another scene. Now go and talk with Hagel for another scene. Exit and head for the Tavern for another scene with Eva. Now make your way to the East Residental District (just go to the next screen from your workshop and go south at the split) and cross the bridge. Head north a bit and enter the house. After the next scene, examine the wall and head into the next room. Open the chest for a Super Medicine and then examine the lone book on the table. After the scene, head to the pile of books and examine those. After the scene, I would suggest either making plenty of Heal Alls or putting Nell in her Nymph Blade. Once you're ready, go to Dakascus. =============== Dakascus Valley =============== Open your map and go to the north part of the Crystal Valley. After the scene, the huge crystal blocking your path before will disappear. Continue to the east and at the fork, go north and go to the next screen. Continue north here for an item bag and follow the path as it bends west, north, south, and then east. Continue east for a chest that has a Thin Leotard in it. A bit more east is an item bag and another chest with a Star Prism in it. Now backtrack to the fork and go east this time. Follow the path on the next screen for two item bags and then head for the next area. Continue east and at the next fork, go east a bit more and restore the crystal here. Go back to the fork and go north this time and fix hte crystal and head over to the next screen. Go north and follow the path for three different item bags and then go west a bit. On the next screen, go north for three chests containing an Alberich, a recipe for an Astral Staff, and a Moon Prism. Backtrack all the way to the previous fork and go west this time and follow the path to the next screen. Watch the scene here. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Crowley ------- This fight isn't really super tough, but it's not a push over fight like the Alvero fights either. All of Crowley's attacks are party based attacks and can usually top the 70 damage mark which is why I told you to get Heal Alls or stick Nell in her Nymph Blade. If Nell's in her Nymph Blade, Healing Echo will be your best friend in this fight. Using Heal Jars with Healing Echo wil help you out in the long run, as Crowley's time attacks will stick around for a few turns. He'll also summon Shadows to help him. Although their physical attacks are generally weak, they have the ability to poison you, and in this fight, this can pose as a problem, so if the poison gets out of control and Nell is in her Nymph Blade, have her use Sanctuary to null it out for a bit. Iris and Edge should be focusing on getting the burst gauge up as much as possible. Once your burst gauge is full, use your strongest attacks such as Illusion Edge (if he's in his Plua Blade) with Edge or summoning Fanatos with Iris will help out a lot. He's got a lot of health to knock out, and even using your strongest skills in Burst Mode will barely dent Crowley, so you'll need to be persistent with your healing and attacks. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- After the fight, watch the next set of scenes and Chapter 7 will close out. O-----------O | Chapter 8 | O-----------O (CH8) ============== Zey Meruze ============== After the next set of scenes, go ahead and get some more quests. -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Want Good Soup" quest. Make some Karotte Magasto and bring it to Reize at Dakascus to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Lost, I'll Find" quest. Go talk with Pukko and then make your way to Valtessa. Open your map and scroll to the Forest Depths. Go to the part of the map with the tree icon to find the pendant. Bring it to Pukko for a scene and then the quest will be complete. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Sword of Dakascus" quest. Fish up 4x Joker Fish and bring them to Funan to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Supreme Gem" quest now. You need to kill 7 Orbs. These enemies are like the Sprites that ride various objects, only that they'll be riding Orbs. If you go to the second and third areas of Dakascus, you'll find some there. Once you kill 7, go talk with Phenyl to finish up the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Chiefs Meeting" quest now. Go talk with Noella. Now you need to find all the appropriate Beastman Chiefs and deliver them letters. Go to Dakascus and talk with the Pengie Chief. After that, go to Ishtar and talk with the Woofer Chief. Next, go to Grimoire and talk with the Squawk Chief. Finally, go to Posporia and talk with both the Kuma and Fairy Chiefs. Now go talk with Noella to complete the quest. -------------- Get some more quests now. -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Prince of the Sea" quest. You'll need to catch 1x King Tuna and bring it to Funan. In order to find a King Tuna, make your way to Ishtar. Find the nearest Lithograph (most likely in Woofer Village) and set it to the past. Now if you open your map and scroll to the third level terrace, you'll notice a fishing spot that wasn't there before. Go to it and fish there until you catch a King Tuna. Go bring it to Funan to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Forest Spirit" quest now. Head for Valtessa and go into the Forest Depths. Go to the very far east part of the map and kill the Giant Golden Pig. Report to Phenyl to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Your Love" quest. Go talk with Pukko and then head for the Library and talk with Ewan. Go back to Pukko and talk with him again (Edge throws out the best line of the game right here) and then go talk with Funan. Now go back to Pukko yet again and talk with him. Now go talk with Anna (I'm sure you know where this is heading) and then finally talk to Pukko once more to complete the quest. I laughed at the Forbidden Love bit, though. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Complaints Exploded?" quest. Go talk with Cerber and then go to the Tavern and talk with Eva. Now head over to the Beastmen Quarters for a scene. Head to Dakascus now and talk with the Pengie Chief and then finally go back and talk with Cerber to complete the quest. -------------- Your rank should've gone up by now, which means it's time for the next mission. After the scene, make your way to your workshop and save your game. I'd suggest either making a handful of Heal Alls or sticking Nell in her Nymph Blade again if she isn't already in it. Once you're ready, go talk with Ewan for another scene. Now enter Grimoire. =============== Grimoire Castle =============== Open your map and start making your way to where the ! is on your map. If you get into any battles, make sure to use the healing light when you come across it. Enter the next room after the healing light. Surprise! ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Yula ---- Yikes. Yula certainly buffed herself up from the last time you fought her. Yula's normal attacks aren't really all that dangerous, but the real threat of this fight comes from her ability to cast Scarlet Surge, which lets her use Haste. After using that, she'll use her Grand Quake attack which will do well over 100 damage to the entire party. What's even more annoying is that she'll keep doing this every few turns, so keeping your HP near max is the most important part of this fight. She also still has the ability to cast Seal on a character, but it's not used all that frequently. Nell should be using Healing Echo if she's in her Nymph Blade and using Heal Jars with that Healing Echo. If she's not in it, Heal Alls will be your best bet here. Edge and Iris should focus getting the Burst Gauge up as fast as possible. Once it's full, using your strongest attacks such as Illusion Edge with Edge, summoning Fanatos with Iris, and using Ein Zecksclaw with Nell (if she's not using Nymph) will get off a nice amount of her HP, but even then it'll take a few more burst chains to wipe off all of her HP. Just keep at least one person on healing duty for the entire fight and you'll come out on top eventually. By the way, freaking awesome battle theme here. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- After the scene, keep following the path to reach the top of Grimoire Castle. After the next scene, Chapter 8 comes to a close. O-----------O | Chapter 9 | O-----------O (CH9) ============== Zey Meruze ============== After the scenes, get some more quests from the Guild. -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Kittens Need A Home!" quest. Talk with Papal. Now head to the map where the guild is. Go north from the guild first and a small scene will occur with the lady taking one of the kittens. Follow the path as if you were going to the Library and another person will take a kitten off your hands. Go back to the guild area and go south and another person will take a kitten from you. Now go visit Phenyl and she'll take the last kitten. After the scene, the quest will be completed. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Pamela's Death" quest. Go talk with Eva and then head for Grimoire and talk with Pamela. Now open your map and scroll through all the floors until a ! appears. Go to the underground area of Grimoire and head for the !. After the scenes, the quest will be completed. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Get Me Out!" quest. Go visit Reize in Dakascus and then exit the Alterworld. Re-enter it and then make your way back to the Oasis to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Sad Angel" quest. Go talk with Anna and then head to Valtessa. Open your map and head for the ! on the map and talk with Rufina. Now go to the fishing spot to find Rufina again. Go back to the Forest Depths and talk with Rufina again. Follow her again and you'll get into a small fight. After the scenes, make a Pyre Blade and give it to Rufina. Finally, visit Anna to finish the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Red Haired Beast" card. Go to Valtessa and head for the Forest Depths. Go to the area where the tree icon is on your map and kill the Scarlet. Go report to Phenyl to complete the quest. -------------- Get some more quests from the Guild now. -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Kidnapped Repre" quest. First, go to your workshop and make 1x Hot Salad. Now go to Posporia and talk with the Fairy Chief. Now make your way to the Kuma Village and talk with the guard outside. Give him the Hot Salad you made and head to the !. After the scenes, the quest will be completed. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Twinshade Demons" quest. Head to Grimoire and head to the top floor of the castle. Kill the Twin Demons and report it to Phenyl to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Memorable Sword" quest. Go talk with Noella. After the scene, go talk with Ewan and then go back and go to Noella's office. Go to Dakascus and go to the ! on the map. After the scene, head to the Guild and for Noella's office and after the next scene, the quest will be completed. -------------- Get some more quests from the Guild. -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Magical Amulet" quest. Make 4x Amulets and bring them to Gregor in Ishtar. Amulets are an alternate recipe of the Talisman weapon. After you bring them to Gregor, the quest will be completed. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ While you're in Ishtar, do the "Lizards Four" quest. Kill the Lizard Lords on the second level terrace and then report it to Phenyl to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Confession" quest. Go visit Winna to receive a recipe for an Engagement Ring. After making it, go talk with Winna again and go visit Pamela. After the scene, the quest will be completed. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "An Alterworld Map" quest. Go talk with Anna. After the scene, you'll need to map out each Alterworld. If you've been following this walkthrough, you should've already mapped out all of Valtessa, Grimoire, Posporia, and Dakascus, so enter each of those Alterworlds just once. For Ishtar, there's only one area that you need to explore, and that's my bad for forgetting all about it. Go to Ishtar and head for the first level terrace. Go to the portal on the other side of the map and take it. Now explore around this area and then head to the next screen to complete the map. Open any chests you come across. The paths are pretty straightforward, so it's hard to get lost. -------------- Your rank should've gone up, which means it's time for the next mission. After the scene, I'd recommend making a Healing Bracelet. It's an alternate recipe for the Healing Necklace. Use a Super Nectar as the first item to make one. It has the spell Heal All, and it'll come in handy from here on out, so equip it on Iris. Once you're ready, head for Posporia. ====================== Posporia Battlegrounds ====================== Go to where Bon Won is and use the cannon to get to the Giant Tree. Make your way to the ! on the map. Once you reach there, you'll find a familiar face. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Ash --- Ash isn't all that different from before. Just use your best attacks and he'll go down without too much trouble. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- After the scene, it's time for round two. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Ash --- Ash is getting serious this time. There are two attacks that you'll need to watch out for. Both of these attacks will do over 200 damage to a single character, so you'll want to either have Iris or Nell ready to heal up. Use Jiptus with Iris to lower his attack and magic as it'll help out a bit. Edge should be using multi hit attacks/skills to increase the burst gauge. There's not much strategy to fight this fight. If you equipped that healing bracelet, use Heal All after his Break Rain attack. It's a straight forward fight. As long as you keep ontop of healing, you shouldn't have too much trouble. Also, the music here didn't seem all that necessary, but it somehow fit into the fight. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- After the fight watch the scenes and Chapter 9 will come to a close. O---------------O | Final Chapter | O---------------O (FCH) ============== Zey Meruze ============== After the scenes, you'll have a choice of either entering the final dungeon or doing some more quests. Since you can't leave once you enter the final dungeon, let's do some more quests first. -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "An Easy Request" quest. Go talk with Eva. Head for the guild and talk with Meyna. Before going back to your workshop, make sure you at least have one of the following items: -Concentrated Honey -Long Pochy -Feudal Snackcastle -Vanilla Syrup -Laughing Shroom Once you gather all of those items, go back to the workshop and watch the scene. Afterwards, the quest will be completed. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Wanting Attention" quest again. Go bring 3x Shifty Eyes to Yach to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Curious Treasure" quest. Go visit Reize again. Watch the scene and you'll get into a fight with a Kettle Spirit. After the next scene, the quest will be completed. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Return of the Dragon" quest. For this one, you may want to stick Nell in her Nymph Blade and make sure to have a handful of Worthless Stones. Head for Ishtar and go to the 3rd Level Terrace to find the Hell's Fran Pfeil. Once you find him, get ready for a fight. The one attack you'll want to watch for here is Tera Flame, as without his magic knocked down or your magic def boosted up, you're looking at a possible annihilation of your party. You'll know he's going to cast Tera Flame the next turn after he uses Impulse. Once he uses Impulse, have Nell use Boost and Mental Ward on the next turn and have Iris use Jiptus to lower his magic. This way, Tera Flame should only be doing 200-250 damage tops. Heal up and repeat this whole process until he goes down. Report to Phenyl after killing it to complete the quest. -------------- Get some more quests. -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Dragon Slashing" quest. Make 1x Draken and bring it to Hagel to finish the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Awakening" quest now. Go to the underground portion of Grimoire and look for the Emperor of Hades. Kill it and report back to Phenyl. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Battlefield Idol" quest now. Go visit Repre and talk with her. Now go to the Kuma and Fairy Villages and talk with both Chiefs. Now you need to make 1x Idol Costume. If you don't have one, go back to your workshop to make it. Once you get one, give it to either the Kuma or Fairy Chief and watch the scene. Afterwards, the quest will be completed. -------------- Get some more quests now. -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Jumbo Steak" quest again. Go make 1x Steak and bring it to Eva to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Mushroom Stew" quest. Bring 2x Fungushroom to Manna to complete this quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ If you're looking to get the good ending, then you'll want to do this next quest: the "Truth in Darkness". Go talk with Anna. Now go to Crowley's lab in his house and examine the book on the table. Make your way to Valtessa now and go to the Forest Depths and the Stone Ruins. After the scene, you'll get into a fight. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Stone Emperor ------------- Lucky for you, the Stone Emperor isn't as tough as before. The main difference in this fight is that the Stone Emperor doesn't have the ability to regenerate every turn now, so you're free to take your time with him. The first thing you'll want to do for this fight is to lower his attack by summoning Jiptus with Iris. After that, use Boost and then Defense Ward with Nell to reduce the damage you take. While his Cliff Slicer will still do a considerate amount of damage, just think how much it would do without yourself buffed or him debuffed. With his attack down and your defense up, have Edge use his best multi hitting skills/attacks to get the Burst Gauge up. Once it's full, finish him off. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- After the fight, watch the scene. Now go talk with Ewan. You'll now need to make a Ruby Prism. You should have the recipe for it by now, so head to your workshop. First, make an Aroma Material which is located under the Accessories section. Now make your Ruby Prism, and then look underneath the Event tab to find the Shadow Gem. Create it and watch the scene. Afterwards, the quest will be completed, and you'll have done the first part to get the true ending. -------------- Now, before advancing any further, we're going to take on an optional boss first. Before going, make sure to set up Iris and Nell so that they have Healing Bracelets on, as Heal All will come in handy. Next, make sure that you're capable of dealing a lot of damage with your current set ups in Burst mode. I had Edge in his Plua Blade and Nell in her Nymph Blade. Get a couple of Heal Alls as back up plans. Once you're ready, go to Ishtar. Once in Ishtar, go to where you fought the Hell's Fran Pfeil. Go a bit past there and you'll find another huge red blob and you'll automatically get into another fight. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Shadow Stalker -------------- This fight will be either easy or hard, depending on how much damage you can deal in Burst mode. At first, the Shadow Stalker might seem tame. He'll do a few normal attacks which should do about 80ish damage. After awhile, he'll start using Time Quake to damage the party and lower your Magic Defense and will sometimes follow that up with a Meteor. Thankfully the Meteor is a two turn attack, so make sure to have Nell cast Boost and Mental Ward. Have her also cast Boost and Power Ward and then Magic Ward. Keep attacking the Shadow Stalker while Iris should be using Heal All or just normally attacking to get the Burst Gauge up. He might be resistant to magic, but getting your burst gauge up is key here. See, the thing here is that when he as about half of his health to 3/4's of his health left, he'll split apart, fully healing himself AND making a clone of himself, which uses the same attacks as him, and we don't need that. Once his health is about to reach the halfway mark, try your best to get yourself into Burst mode. Once in Burst mode, using something like Illusion Edge, Frozen Shard, and Fanatos should be able to take him out before his next turn comes. The key here is to steadily build your burst gauge while keeping yourself healed, and then taking him out in one turn with all three of your characters. If this doesn't work, change your classes and try it again or chip his health past halfway. It's a risk, but it gives you a better chance to take him down with one turn from each character. If he splits, Iris should be on constant heal duty whereas Nell should be recasting Mental Ward whenever your Magic Defense wears out. There can be up to 4 Shadow Stalkers at once, so make sure to take him out in one shot in Burst mode when he has just about half of his health left. Another alternative method for this fight is to stick Nell in her Diemia Blade as long as she's mastered it. If the Shadow Stalker somehow multiplies itself, you can always use Chariot in Burst mode once their lives are nearly down to the 3/4 mark. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- After the fight, you'll obtain the final mana, Luplus, which is also Edge's final Blade. Now you can use those Books that you've been making for awhile now. Let's do some more quests now. -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Supreme Gem" quest. Kill 8x Orbs (the Blue ones only this time) and report back to Phenyl to complete the quest. -------------- Get some more quests. -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Fool's Treasure" quest now. Make 1x Gold and bring it to Gregor to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Tribal Code" quest. Go kill the Kobold Fugitive in North Dakascus and report back to Phenyl to complete the quest. -------------- Get some more quests. -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Memory Calls" quest. Make 7x Refrain Memories and go deliver them to Gregor to complete the quest. -------------- -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Dragons' Fall" quest. Go to North Dakascus and kill 4x Dragons. This is an event quest, so they'll be the purple blobs. Once you kill four groups, report back to Phenyl. -------------- Get some more quests. -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Karrotate Tragedy" quest. Head for Valtessa and then into the Forest Depths and kill 5x groups of Golden Pigs. Report back to Phenyl once you do to complete the quest. -------------- Get some more quests again. -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Doing this next quest is up to you. It all depends on your patience level. Do the "Mystery of Puni" quest. You'll need to kill 200x Punis. You read that right. 200, not 20. 200. You also have to kill only the regular blue ones, so Valtessa will be your best bet. Once you're done with this quest, go talk to Phenyl to complete the quest. -------------- Get some more quests. -------------- +-----------+ | Quest | +-----------+ Do the "Puni Brothers Forever" quest. You may want to prepare yourself this time around, such as putting Nell in her Nymph Blade for Boost. Once you're ready, make your way to Valtessa and to the fishing spot to find the Puni Brothers again. They're much tougher this time around and can deal a lot of damage rather quickly, so you'll want Nell to use Boost and use the one that ups your defense. One Puni is resistant to physical attacks, one is resistant to magic attacks, and the other one is resistant to both magic and physical attacks. Thankfully for the one resistant to both, you can use Faustus to suck away those resistances and traits and then pummel on him. Once you take out one, the fight should go more smoothly. Report back to Phenyl to complete the quest. -------------- Whenever I checked the Bulletin Board, I kept getting repeat quests, so now it's time to head for the final dungeon. Make sure to prepare yourself by making any healing items you need, any equipment, and so on since you can't leave once you enter. Once you're ready, talk with Noella for a scene. =================== Distorted Dimension =================== Once you gain control, you'll be at a four way split. Go north first to find a chest that has a Cure Jar in it. Go back and head east this time to reach the next screen. Continue east and open the chest when you come across it for some Green Soup. At the next fork, go south to find two chests containing two Flames. Go back to the fork and go north and then east. Continue east and then turn and go north. Climb the two sets of ladders and continue east. After the scene, go east some more and at the next fork, go south for two Heal Jars. Backtrack to the fork and go east. On the next screen, keep going east and at the fork, go south and east. Keep treading east and take the portal when you come across it. Go south and continue going south until you reach a fork. Go north for a chest that has a Divine Shield in it. Backtrack to the fork and continue to the east until you reach the next screen. Go south for a chest that has a Nectar in it. You'll find a huge red blob blocking your path. Hit it with your sword to fight a Servant and 2x Guardians. After they're wasted, take the vine going down. Open the nearby chest for a Heal Jar and then go west. Keep going west and turn as the path goes north. At the next fork, go west for a chest that has an Uni in it. Go back to the fork and go east this time and then north for a chest that has a Crunchy Fruit in it. Continue to the north. After the scene, go west until another scene triggers. In the next area, go south and then east for a chest that has Wild Meat in it. At the next fork, go north and open the chest up here and drop down back to the fork and go south and then east. Follow the path here south and then follow it as it bends, north, east, south, east, and then south again. After the next scene, follow the path south and then as it bends east, north, east, and then north. Climb the vine and continue north. Climb the next vine and head east a bit for another vine. Climb it. After the scene, go north and take the portal. Follow the path north and then as it bends west, north, east, and north. On the next screen, continue north past the ledges and to the next screen for a chest that has an X-Heal in it. Backtrack to the ledges you passed just a bit ago and jump up them and head a bit east. After the scene, continue east and then north. On the next screen, go north past the first split and at the next split, approach the house, but don't enter. Open the chest on the side of the house first for a Heal Jar. Enter the house and you'll realize that it's your workshop. MAKE SURE TO SAVE YOUR GAME IN A SEPERATE SAVE SLOT. I can't stress this enough since you can't leave if you find out you're not ready to handle the final boss yet. Do any last minute preperations and then take the portal on the second floor. Drop down the ledges and go north and then west. Continue west and then turn and go south. Go south and then east for a chest that has a Nectar in it. Now go east and continue east until you reach a healing pillar. Here's what my final set up looked like before I went to fight Uroborus: Edge ---- Level 35 Blade: Plua HP: 499 Attack: 259 Magic Attack: 155 Speed: 248 Defense: 254 Magic Defense: 166 Weapon: Demon Fang Blade [Quick, Speed + L] Armor: Crown Breastplate Accessory 1: Bunny Ears Accessory 2: Angel Wings [Hit +2] Iris ---- Level 35 HP: 404 Attack: 87 Magic Attack: 534 Speed: 53 Defense: 199 Magic Defense: 405 Weapon: Staff of Creation [Hit +2, Blessed Wpn] Armor: Saint's Garb Accessory 1: Key to Heaven [HP + L] Accessory 2: Healing Bracelet [Magic + L] Nell ---- Level 34 Blade: Siren HP: 428 Attack: 95 Magic Attack: 391 Speed: 86 Defense: 244 Magic Defense: 274 Weapon: Element Blaze Armor: Heaven's Feel Accessory 1: Demon Pot [Hit +2] Accessory 2: Healing Bracelet [Magic + L] Once you're ready, continue east and take the portal for a scene, and then a fight. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Uroborus -------- I don't know if it was my set up for not, but Uroborus was pretty much a let down from what I was expecting. At least he wasn't like the last boss in Atelier Iris 2 that suddenly made the difficulty level jump like, 5 notches. Let's go over Uroborus's attack list first: Blaze: A fire attack that's somehow of the Physical property. It hits multiple times ranging from 6-10 damage. Cursed Breath: Exactly like Blaze, except it's an ice attack and of the Magic property. Does the same amount of damage as Blaze. Plasma Shutter: An attack of the lightning family, it hits a character multiple times for 10-20 damage per hit. Ancient Mist: This attack simply just dispels all of your positive attributes. Beginnings End: A two turn attack. This will hit your entire party for around 250-300 damage. This is probably not a set amount, as I believe it'll damage you by 3/4's of your HP total. World End: This is used right after Beginnings End. It does nothing but change the background and the traits of Uroborus. Abysmal Fist: An attack that hits a single character for nearly 300-400 damage. Pure Incarnation: An attack that hits your party multiple times ranging from 15-30 damage per hit. This also ends the World End and changes Uroborus's traits back to normal. Now with those out of the way, Uroborus isn't exactly all that tough if you came prepared. At first, he's resistant to both magic and physical attacks, but don't let that stop you from attacking him. His Blaze, Cursed Breath, and Plasma Shatter attacks are all timed attacks and Blaze and Cursed Breath stick around for a long time. Focus on normally attacking him for the first few turns and have someone heal when your HP is starting to get low. Once you get into Burst, use your strongest skills such as Soul Burst, Illusion Edge, Frozen Shard, Kobold Hero, or anything like that. If you have Luplus, have Iris use that once your skill gauge is 3 or above to Hasten your characters for a few turns. Once he uses Beginnings End, make sure to get yourself to full health by using Heal All if you have it or by any other healing methods. Once he lets loose with Beginnings End, he'll use World End and his resistance to physical and magic attacks will disappear, so take this time to start pummeling him until your burst gauge is full. Once it's full, your strongest skills will start damaging him, so make sure to be persistent with your attacks and stop to heal every now and then. After a few turns, he'll use Pure Incarnation to get back his resistance to physical and magic attacks. From there on out, it's nothing but the same cycle until he dies, so just follow the strategy you're using until he falls. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Now watch the scenes. If you've been following this guide, then you should have unlocked the Good ending by doing the "Truth in Darkness" quest and got Luplus. If so, continue on. ==================== Epilogue: Zey Meruze ==================== After the scene, make your way to the guild for another scene. Talk with Noella for yet another scene. Now make your way to Valtessa and go to the stone ruins for one last scene. Now sit back and watch the credits. Congratulations! You've beaten Atelier Iris 3: Grand Phantasm. I hope you enjoyed the game and I hope my guide has been of some kind of help. You can now save your game to unlock the Extra menu which lets you look over lists such as the monster list, item list, Blade list and so on. You can also listen to the music in the game under the BGM section and hear the Japanese VAs in the CAST section. =================== 5.) Bosses =================== ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Alvero ------ This fight shouldn't be too difficult as long as your levels are in the 7-10 range. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Puni Mama --------- The Puni Mama comes with 2 Red Punis and 2 regular Punis. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- The Elder --------- The first part of this fight isn't too difficult. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Yula and Nell ------------- This fight is a bit hard at first only because of Yula. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Ice Sprite ---------- Don't bother taking out the ice shards that are behind her since she'll just heal them for a decent amount, so focus all your man power on the Ice Sprite. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Magus ----- This fight is a pain mainly because Magus has the ability to poison you and curse you, so if you have Nell with her Nymph Blade, then using Sanctuary will be a huge factor in this fight. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Stone Emperor ------------- To start this fight off, have Iris use the Summon command and have her summon Jiptus to lower the Stone Emperor's attack and magic. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Musica and Cancion ------------------ These guys will give you trouble no matter which Blades you're using. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Alvero ------ This is the second round against Alvero, and just like the first fight, it's still a pretty simple, straightforward fight. Alvero still has the same attacks as last time, and they'll do around 30-40 damage, so having Nell or Iris use heal, assuming they have a healing accessory on, will pretty much give you a guaranteed win as long as you use it when someone gets low on health. There's really not much strategy here. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Alkane ------ This fight is harder than the Alvero fight because Alkane has a dangerous attack that will just eat your HP alive. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Rockwell -------- This fight isn't all that hard if you remember to summon Jiptus with Iris. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Stone Emperor ------------- He's back and tougher this time around. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Fatebringer ----------- This fight, while not as tough as the previous fight against the Stone Emperor, is still tough mainly because of the swords that aid him. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Mirage ------ This fight isn't really all that difficult. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Alvero ------ Compared to that pain in the ass Stone Emperor in the last chapter, Alvero is pretty much a cupcake. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Crowley ------- This fight isn't really super tough, but it's not a push over fight like the Alvero fights either. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Yula ---- Yikes. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Ash --- Ash isn't all that different from before. Just use your best attacks and he'll go down without too much trouble. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Ash --- Ash is getting serious this time. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Stone Emperor ------------- Lucky for you, the Stone Emperor isn't as tough as before. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Shadow Stalker -------------- This fight will be either easy or hard, depending on how much damage you can deal in Burst mode. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- Uroborus -------- I don't know if it was my set up for not, but Uroborus was pretty much a let down from what I was expecting. ----------------------------------BOSS----------------------------------------- =================== 10.)
