While playing the game press L1, R1, Up, X, R2 to enable the Cheat Gnome so it now appears on the lots. Then during gameplay select it and enter the following codes to unlock the corresponding effect.
Unlock 9,999 Simoleons

Buried Treasure
If you have a metal detector an you have always wondered what those dark spots in the middle of the house were.....It's a buried treasure. It's different everytime but once I got 4,000 simoleons off of it. Hope that helps.
5 People Glitch
This was a random glitch that happened to me. This is how to do it. Make a guy/girl you want to marry DON'T make them live with you. Make two kids live with them. It takes a minute for the two kids to show up after you marry the person. The second you're married, do a normal kiss. If the kids didn't show up yet, it should say, "Do you want to have a baby?" click yes, and you have 5 people! It DID work for me. It might not work the first time.
Drink of Death X_X
Take the following ingrediants from the fridge and use the blender to blend them together. This concoction should be called "Slush" or something like that. It will have hearts flowing out, but it doesn't make people happy. It will cause them to throw up, then they will clutch their stomach, fall over, and die! Here are the ingredients!:
1. Llama (Buy it from fridge)
2. Beet (Buy from fridge)
3. Squid (Harvest from an aquarium in your house)
4. Fauxiestra (SP?) & (I think that is what it is called, it's the only oil without the word "oil" at the end of it's name. You have to buy it from the fridge.)
Please note that the death drink doesn't ALWAYS work, it works most often when the person's motives are lower. Have fun killing people! X_X
ALSO
Buy a rocket bench, build a rocket, and launch it inside the house. Your sim will catch on fire. Yay! Pretty colors!
Marry someone
If you want to marry just socialize to woman or man pick a good socialize type and sometimes wait until 75 then pick one (propose) if they accept it you will be get maried , you even can sleep together. But if you marry YOU WILL NOT GET ANY CHILD!!!
child/baby:
Just kiss over n over till you're extremely high on the love part and woohoo it may not work the first time but should the 2nd . If not keep trying... Kind of like in real life if it don't work the first time keep on keeping on... Lol
Gnome cheat L1 R1 Up X R2 cheat this first because you cannot cheat without gnome cheat pause the game and right the cheat and you will see outside of your house
Money cheat R1 L1 R2 Right Left you can cheat this by clicking the gnome and click 9999 it adds your money
All objects L2 O Down Left Up you can cheat this by clicking the gnome and click the unlock and click all objects this helps you to buy more item
All fashions Square R2 Down Right X Square you can cheat this by clicking the gnome and click unlock and click all fashions
Set lvl skills Triangle O Square R2 Left it will helps you to promote in your work but I think it's not needed because if you cheat at money your work is not needed for money

I did not right other cheats like unlocking location in story mode because I play only freeplay... Its work!!
If your looking to double your money, them start a new freeplay game. While you are choosing your lot, evict the current family, but DO NOT clear out the house. When you go to move in a family to the house you evicted the previous family from, use the family you evicted. Thats right, evict the family from the house you want, then move in the same family. Now all you have to do is edit the characters to your liking, and depending on how much money the family had before you evicted them, you will have twice as much!

When you die in the sims 2 you have to beat the grim reaper in a violin playing
Contest.or you can take the easy way out and you can pay him $100.

Ok, as the title says, there is something important you wanna know about the cheat gnome other than having cheats. Now, if you enabled the cheat gnome (L1, R1, Up, X, R2), don't try selling it on the place you are in if you are in buy catalog. Because it wont appear. Im at the orbit room at the time and when I sold it, it didn't appear anymore. So try not selling it. You may go from another location then come back.

In using the up and down right and left you need to use the analog and you need to be fast....
A cheat to get prometed is puse the game then pres L1 R1 UP X R2(activates cheate gnome) you should have a alien divice thing on your sidewalk.then(unpaused)pres triangle,circle,square,right(aarow I got mixed up),and left(also aarow).Then if you pres X on the alien thing you should be abele to set your stats(you need stats to get promoted).Then set all your stats all at 10.get a job then the1st or2nd day you should get promoted.
