Sometimes you are unable to fly straight at one altitute because ie. Of wind tunnels or just the way the game is made. Either way, it can be avoided by simply:

1. Switching to Cynder

2. Equipping darkness elemental

3. Start flying, and then quickly hold R1. You will turn into a darkness orb. This way you can fly through wind jets and through air easily. Though it may be a little slow, it is useful. (Note, you will need to activate infinite mana/breath if you want to fly for long periods at a time).
