How to pass the plants

the way you hit the plant is that you jump with x with your special you get.
As soon as you press x you have to press square and hold on to spin attak the plant when it is swinging it's thorny vines.
If you weaken it alot with hits you do it will freeze for a second which gives you the perfect chance to go away before he does this attack that can hurt you alot!
Oh to get the special stick out you must press R1 to switch between sticks. Each time you hit it the plant will swing the vines faster.
