Depending on how well you did in the game determines what weapons and ammo you start with in the following game.

Start with ALL Weapons except Charged Particle Rifle:

Beat the game with an 'S' Rank on 'Easy' difficulty or an 'A' Rank on 'Normal' difficulty.

Start with ALL Weapons with Unlimited Ammo except Charged Particle Rifle:

Beat the game with an 'S' Rank on 'Normal' difficulty or an 'A' Rank on 'Hard' difficulty.

Start with ALL Handguns and Shotgun:

Beat the game with an A Rank on the 'Easy' difficulty.

Start with ALL Weapons and Unlimited Ammo:

Beat the game with an 'S' Rank on 'Hard' difficulty.
