Zane Truesdale my partner!

Defeating Zane isn't that hard. I'm on day 4 and defeat him like 80% of the time. My deck is fire monsters (and fire monsters only) spell cards to enhance their attack, and spell/trap cards to stop him from attacking and destroying my monsters for one turn. (negate attack, swords of revealing/concealing light etc)
Only fire monsters with attack more than 1800 are in the deck except for effect cards (special summon). An important card is the ultimate baseball kid. It gains 1000 points per fire monster on the field. And since all you have is fire monsters, it's attack quickly goes to 2500-3500. +enhance cards so even more.
If he takes over this monster and attacks you, it's attack points drop 1000 points and you can kill it with a regular monster. Maybe add some cards so you can pick the ultimate baseball kid from your deck (starting attack 500 so add an effect monster to do the job, this is the only non-fire monster i have.) The only games I lose is if he gets lucky and summons his cyberdragon on turn 1 or 2 and I don't have a way to stop the attacks Or if I get really unlucky and drawn spell and trap cards only for the first 6 turn.

Usually around turn 6 I have one ultimate baseball kid on the field with attack 2500-3500 and couple of other fire monsters. Usually before turn 12 I have defeated Zane (unless he gets lucky and gets to stall to turn 20 or something)

Ow yeah I forgot, Don't be afraid to take a hit. IF you have 0 monsters out and one negate attack, and he has 1 or 2 out, take the hit, so in 2 turns, you can have 2 monsters or even 1 tribune summoned monster out. (but that's basics, just making sure you knew that)
