The "Gate" is a bonus area called the seraphic gate a very very challenging place. The last save point is after you fight lezard valeth for the first time you go all the way to the top and save then to check if it is the last save point go to the next room if you hear lezard being obsessive about lenneth where they become one or you see lenneth in a huge crystal then the save point behind you is the last one. And people you get in the seraphic gate is the people you lost or "one time" (even a boss) characters this does NOT include getting back the einheriar. But the seraphic gate is incredabily tough you better have some skills to not get raped by even the normal enemies are tough but you get some great things in there.
