This may sound stupied but how do you get mechanichal again I need it to bulid a small shelter

You need to have enough of resources to build a small shelter... then go to the start
Go to the first option for building select house option n choose the kind of house you need... So you can only make the roof as per your requirement.

What she said, which is kinda lame because there should be a quicker way to get to it, but to build a small hut you need to go to the start, and select plans, the choose roof, oh and for later on you should always have a roof above your head when your sleeping, or when it rains youll keep waking up
