There is not other way you can get rid of it, but every item you will be selling or deleting like fridges or even windows, will lower it's meter.

ALCADIUS answered:

You can't take it out but you can buy a extinguisher or place alarms in every room to have less chance of a fire.

dnextreme88 answered:

You cannot get rid of it unless there is a code for that.

I am having the same problem. I place a house and it says you are in violation of the fire code-but only when I place large houses! I wish I knew how to answer you're question.

save your money up and then evict a family off a lot and rebuild your house from ground up. fire code doesnt matter unless you have no alarms or no way to put it out. just keep in mind the fact that it gets to the point where the fire code wont allow you to place anything else.

Guest answered:

Apparently Doors make the fire code go up majorly. So if you have a lot of rooms then you should either get cheaper doors or take out a wall or two.

Sims2NDSExpert answered:

If you use wood and tile as flooring instead of carpet, the meter won't go up as much. Also, don't buy a lot of rugs; these are apparently flammable!

what you need to do is put fire alarms in some rooms and also especially have a fire extinguisher handy at all times
