ANSWERS

 
Nearly all the time provided you can kill your opponents very quickly to become a Jedi/Sith and then when your time has expired you need to be patient until the next time the Jedi/Sith can be playable.
Also, you can play as a Jedi/Sith on every battle ground, but not in space.

This depends on how bad you can own the opposite faction or vise versa. If you kill alot of them you get lots of time. But if they own you and shoot you up a bunch, then your time will be much shorter. If you basically want to play for the closest thing to forever would be the "Assault" mode on the Mos Eisley map. You can there choose any hero or villian to play as and attack them as well.
