Well each one is different, and it all depends on your play style. The main things to look out for are auto-turrets vs. Heavy turrets. Normally an enemy hanger will have either 2-4 heavy turrets on the outside, or about 25 auto turrets. The heavy turrets do more damage, but can be taken out with a couple of rounds of bombs. The auto turrets need you to go inside and blow up the auto turret mainframe else they'll just regenerate. In this case you might as well stay inside and blow stuff up.

Inside you should go for the shield generator first so the AI outside can get to work on the things that can't be taken out on the inside, then the other two areas, but make sure you destroy any gun turrets as soon as possible, and take the transport into the hanger if possible and land in the middle of the hanger. This reduces the chance of the enemy AI destroying the transport and also lets you re-spawn in there. Once you're all done inside just head out in a bomber (CIS strike bombers are pretty good, if one of the sides is CIS) and blow up the rest.

If you go straight for the outside then get rid of the heavy turrets, then the frigates, then the shield, and then just whatever.

If you still need points after destroying everything it is generally quicker to go into their hanger and shoot the AI, rather than going after ships.

Man, I wish my disk wasn't scratched, I used to love this game.

What I always did was attack everything on the ship and take out the frigates and defense. If you still had more points left, If you are good at fighting ships, kill them. If you are good at killing people, go into the Big ship and kill everybody you see.
