Well seeing as it is a bonus it works like the others. If you use it for a battle it can only be used for that battle until you buy it "again".
Well if you are "defending" just basically do what you would do if you are attacking it, but obviously you're defending it. Just take over the CPs or kill all the enemy as usual, but as an extra aid I would have turrets also defending my CPs.

When you buy the Jedi Bonus, it can only be used once. Then you have to buy it again. And for your defense question, just kill as many enemies as you can and capture their CPs as quickly as you can.

Well,I played every planet to get use to the maps.Know I know the good places.eg.Sniping spots,Ways to sneak past, secret turrets.
On The wookie planet,I use the turret on the right of the blockade...I bomb enemy tanks first. Then the infantry. But on any mission have a engineer brought...
I mean I'm know close to the general rank...I control 3 other units.!!

The best way I find to defend planets is to create another fleet in addition to your normal one then leave it over the planet. This way, they have to attack your fleet first, then your planet. For starters, it is easier to win a space battle. Secondly, this gives you a buffer, meaning you have two chances to repel them.
Another suggestion is, once you can, buy the turret bonus. They make it more difficult for your opponent to capture CPs (though only use it when they actually land on your planet, never use it in Space).
Finally, just treat it as a normal battle. There isn't a difference in gameplay between a planet in you control and one your opponent does in the battle itself.
