Yavin 4: Temple, set on Hard, as Clone Trooper, How to Win?

When you play on difficulty level "Hard", on Yavin 4: Temple, as a Clone Trooper, not as droids, what strategy to win? I have tried every type of player from every position and every combination of which command post taken first, and still lose 60 to 0. I have beaten it on "medium" difficulty.

Help please.

Try to take the closest outposts. And once you capture one go back to the other to make sure that they aren't having difficulty. Once you have more outposts just keep going back and forth to your outposts till the fight lessesn up then proceed to their outposts.

The strategy i came up with after getting defeated alot and beating it once by "helms-deeping" it in the overlook with the only tank - i had to kill 100 guys- is actually very simple and it works every time i try it now.

To increase the effectiveness of my troops (which are dumb and useless) and to make it fair (why the hell does the trade federation get vehicles again? They have destroyer droids) i simply attach a second controller into the port, play split-screen and then select the clones with one and then CIS with the other. With the CIS one i spawn at the overlook where their tanks spawn, then i take one and sit with it so its effectively out of the game. This also increases the effectiveness of your troops, and ensures that when you have the forest ruins(center) and the viaduct, you actually naturally dominate the enemy - you know, when for some reason their troop count just goes down.

All other strategies, besides helms deeping it, seem to me to be based on luck, for you cant depend on the clones capturing the forest ruins(center) at the start-sometimes they do,sometimes they dont- and the CIS easily takes all the rest after that. If you do go for the forest ruins, the clones die by the seconds because they spawn all over the place.

My favorite strategy is to take the forest command post in the middle, then protect it for about a minute to give my troops time to dig in. I then use a jet trooper and fly to the back of the fountain command post, via the long overhead stone bridge. There is a spot in the back where no CIS troops can see you, and the command post capture bar will appear. Even if you don't take it over, the CIS should start losing troops a little more rapidly, helping you in the final stage....

When your troops are down to about 40 or 45, respawn at the dry pool and be a missile launcher guy. destroy one of the tanks using missiles and mines. By this time you should only have around 25-30 troops left. Of course you do not want to die with under 26 troops left, or else you will be alive and the game will still end. As soon as you destroy the tank, respawn as a jet trooper and fly to the overlook via the stone bridge...

Begin taking the command post over; it takes some time. If you time it correctly, a tank should appear right before the CIS loses the overlook. Get in the tank to make sure it does not blow up, then continue capturing the overlook. Once you capture the command post, good luck. They could have anywhere from 30 to 120 troops left. It is imperative you ensure the white r2-d2 does not blow up, it gives you health.

I found myself in this same situation on PC. After losing many times as republic, I decided to play through as CIS once. After that, I went back to republic and did the following;

Id wait off in the corner as a clone pilot on a speeder bike and wait for the two AAT tanks to arrive at the top of the hill. I waited by our command post out of view by them until one of the droids ejected to repair their tank (they always seem to at this same spot on every playthrough). I took the bike to the tank, and promptly stole the tank from them. I got another clone to occupy the gunner position onboard, and positioned myself at the CP that starts out as neutral to start the match, and destroy as many droids as I can as they go up the steps. Go down to the CIS fountain CP to shoot down battle droids and repair your tank at the repair droid there. Being a clone pilot also allows you to repair the tank when needed if you can safely eject for a moment out of harms way. Prioritize destroying destroyer droids, as they are the primary killer of your army. Keep the tank around for as long as possible, and destroy as many CIS units as you can with it.

I finally beat Yavin IV temple on hard difficulty with 18 republic troops left when I tried this.
