Question for Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom

I am at Chum Bucket Lab on the second part trying to get the spatula. I get through and break the fuses and beat the robot until I am supposed to put the cruise bubble down the drain holes. I see one drain hole in front and I know there is one in back but when I try to get to it: the cruise bubble won't go far enough to get to there. How do I beat this level. Am I missing something? Apparently I am. Please help.

First make sure Plankten is knocked out then get as closer to the edge as possible then use the cruize bubble but don't let it hit anything.
