You upgrade it by using it to block as many attacks as possible. It will upgrade very slowly.

P.S. Once it is level 10 it wil shoot back when it is hit.

You can buy the AlphaMods(the ones with speed, ammo etc.). You can buy hundreds of each Mod with 50,000,000 bolts.
Use the Holoshield Launcher and fire a few around the arena and hide behind the shields when the enemies start shooting you. Their bullets and lasers will just hit the shield and absorb XP points for your Holoshield Launcher! Hey presto!

You can use the holoshield on the endzone challenge and when the swarmers run into it it will kill them is you have a mod o it idk what will happen if you don't have an omega mod on it I suggest using the shock mod
