It's about this guy named vox who owns this show called dreadzone and captures heroes from all around the galaxy.

Ratchet is captured and put in the show.Clank is his guide as well as Al.

He gives ratchet these two bots who help him through out the game.You can buy upgrades for them and your weapons.In this game there is only 10 weapons.

It is good though because now you don't have to choose from over 36 or 50 of them like in the previous games.

Ratchet: Deadlocked/Gladiator starts with an episode of something called DreadZone being shown from somewhere in the Shadow Sector. Three DreadBots are carefully moving through a vally on Catacrom Four. Where they get blasted by an ace Exterminator known as Captain Starshield. Starshield himself gets blown up by another ace Exterminator known as Ace Hardlight. The episode ends and Ace is crowned as the champion of DreadZone.

Back on the Starship Phoenix, Ratchet has taken command because Sasha (the former commander from Ratchet & Clank 3) has become the new Mayor of Metropolis. She tells Ratchet using a message that Captain Starshield, a hero from the Solana Galaxy, has just been killed. Al is devastated but Ratchet wants to know what happened. Sasha tells him that he was involved with something from DreadZone, something like Annilation Nation but ten times more popular. She wants to warn him about this saying that they could come to get Ratchet when her message is interupted.

Three large DreadBots appear in the Phoenix using teleports and they capture Ratchet, Clank and Al.

Ratchet wakes up in a laboratory as Al makes some finishing touches to his DreadZone armour. Al teleports Ratchet to a Qualification course. If Ratchet does not complete it in time, they will all be killed.

The game then starts. You are now a contestant of DreadZone.
