Can someone please tell me how to get past the second competion the one on the Kenai River I can get the fish on the lure but they always get away or snap the line and I use the line tension bar.

Can someone please tell me how to get past the second competion the one on the Kenai River I can get the fish on the lure but they always get away or snap the line and I use the line tension bar.

Choose the heavyest line and rod you have.When fish is running out lower your rod with 3 on the drag. When fish turns knock the drag up to 5 and raise your rod be ready to knock the drag back when it runs again. It takes some time(took me about 2 weeks!!!) to get the hang of it. Good luck.
