internet problem

Hi.

After some research I deciced to conect my ps2 to the net.My ps2 is slim, the net is 5Mb, I have two.
have a crossover cable conected from my ps2 to a modem.

Then I create a nick and I go to the network, after I press yes, I agree with the terms, after that it tries to find a network, and in the end it says that exists an error.

Plz help
