How do I get the rope gun? I am at the monster in the swamp that is guarding the black bogberrys. Cant get any higher to block attacks.

You don't need the rope gun to kill it, but you get it when you save Tor's Farm.
You know the reachable platforms? You get there and block an attack, but if smoke comes, run from it, it will poison you. Once you block the attack, the snake will pass out and you can attack it. Continue to do this until it is dead. Then it will become a bridge to the berries and a bridge to get out.
